Spoiler:

To be slightly more serious, I make copious notes using Notepad, even though they are often only useful for a couple of sessions, because players change their screennames frequently. I'm pretty terrible at remembering multiple players' tendencies at once, so I have to keep looking at the txt file to remind me which player has which tendencies, even if I just played a hand against him (I think I have early-onset Alzheimer's, as my short-term memory is atrocious). I think I miss colour-coding even more than I miss my HUD tbh.
Most of my notes just say things like "WHALE. Limp-calls 74s UTG", but other examples are "Reg that c-bets too often" or "Bad LAG - half pots for value, pots as a bluff".

aye, I know what you mean and your notes are just like mine. Food for thought. I spewed like a mad man s**ting when played Unibet for a short while and thought it was the information absence causing it.

I wasn't thinking of Fords, or even pining for the fjords. Fun fact: Most British cars spend 96% of their lifespans parked. I was really into cars back in the early 90's, but now they bore me, and I don't even have a licence any more. To my mind, there are only three kinds of interesting car: Autonomous robo-vehicles, the DeLorean Time Machine, and the Ferrari 250 Gran Turismo Omologato. An example of the latter was the most expensive car ever sold at auction. Naturally it sold for 'bout $35,000,000, because that's an unexploitable price in the GTO solution for red cars.

I've spent four years building a nitty image and I'm quite worried that I'm going to destroy that image in this thread, and no one will ever respect my raises again, but let's do some recent hands.

Do you ever get annoyed by a reg to the extent that you decide to focus on crushing him? I do, because I'm nutso and I take bad beats personally. I also have hearts and commitment:

Here's another player that pissed me off. My notes on him say "spewy". I am spewier. I'm honestly not sure if I wanted a call or a fold on the river, so let's call it a triple range merge.

Some people never check-raise the river. I do it two hands in a row.

I get fat value with queen high, because this guy makes the worst hero-call in poker history:

Weekly summary. (Week 14 of the year I think, but I've only played 11 or 12.)

I started the week playing 25NL and 10NL as I just needed to quickly grind through some challenges (e.g. "Fold a hand with a deuce in it 25 times") to meet my rakeback points target for the quarter. I lost a couple of stacks against a 10NL whale that was running like Bolt. Took a couple of days off, then settled in for the Friday Night Fishfest. Had one terrible session, but then bounced back and continued to boss 25NL for the rest of the weekend.

I had the usual lolbad sample size, with about 2800 hands for the week. It's hard to be precise on the winrate, based on the lack of a tracker and mixing stakes, but it was something like 16bb/100.

Weekly Giraffe looks like this: (Thanks to Jonny for the penguin heater pic).
Spoiler:

Year so far totals: 29,458 hands, winrate of around 14bb/100.

Today is supposed to be a day off, but with the Milestones promo happening, I might take a look at 50NL tonight.

Are any of you lot on Tiltbook or RankingHero?

I think I've subscribed to all the current PG&C threads of everyone who's posted above. If I've missed anyone, feel free to holler, and I'll go take a look.

Meanwhile, I'm back on 50NL, and I'm loving the new action buttons that have appeared during the Milestone promo.

Hey Arty,

Be a good chap and have look at my PGC #12 onwards. Did a wee hand analysis exercise and would appreciate your comments (on the ex as well as the hands)

I'm a day late with the weekly update, because I've been really ill. #SickPenguin

Week 15 Summary.

Truly a week of two halves. I planned to stick with 50NL and put in a bit more volume than usual. Things started well. Midway through Wednesday, I'd banked 110 euros, due partly to extended use of the 'Win Pot' button. #WitnessTheSickness

I balanced my overbet bluffs by getting some huge value from a LAG.

And then it got ugly. In the next 720 hands, I only saw 100 flops, because I was horrifically card dead. I got a bit tilted after this next hand and tried forcing things a bit too much.

On the rare occasions I actually flopped or turned a monster, the board ran out stupidly and I ended up folding.

Since I was aware I'd lost my mojo and all my profit for the week, I moved down to 25NL to rebuild. The players there are all absolutely terrible. Seriously, I think it's softer than 5NL on Stars. I was still card dead though, and bluffing was my only option. Unfortunately, I had another huge #OverbetFail.

Since I was going down with a cold and couldn't concentrate properly if I tried playing 4 tables, I decided to call it a day on Friday. I planned to take Saturday off and then play some tourneys on Sunday, but I just couldn't get out of bed over the weekend.
Headaches + toothache + runny nose + sneezing + downsw0ng = not a happy penguin.

The only good thing that happened was that yesterday I had a tooth extracted at the hospital, so I've greatly increased my chances of winning a Stealthmunk lookalike competition.

Weekly total: 3229 hands. Losses: 39.28 euros and one tooth. Lossrate: About -3bb/100. Rakeback/tourney ticks: 19 euros. Graph to follow below.

Week 15 graph:

#LOLvariance

Evidently my losses mean I've received a 'Double Trouble' ticket into a freeroll with a 4k prizepool and a smallish field, so I suppose I should go and win that this evening, but I still feel terribly ill and haven't been sleeping well, so I might just take the whole week off. I have no motivation to play poker or analyse hands when - with this ****ing headache - it hurts to look at the screen.

Yeah, screengrabs are from Unibet. I can understand some regs would hate the layouts, but I really enjoy rotating through the different avatars and backdrops. #FunPlayer

In slightly delayed news, Mr West has also been ill, but he's finally confirmed my first quarter results.

Lolbad sample size notwithstanding, I'm pretty pleased that I somehow bucked the trend and actually increased my winrate at higher stakes despite paying proportionately higher rake. I understand than many regs get stuck at 25NL, because the rake jump from 10NL is quite significant.

Confirmed: Won 2.32 times as much as I paid in rake.

P.S. If anyone still grinds 10NL on Stars and pays around 10bb/100 in rake while breaking even... you're on the wrong site bro.

FWIW, I forced myself to play the Double Trouble $4000 Freeroll this evening. It plays like a satellite, as it just pays $40 to the top 100 finishers, so there's very little incentive to do much more than survive the minefield. (i.e. trying to build a massive stack by playing like a LAG isn't necessary). This week there were 573 entries, which might be higher than usual due to the additional traffic (and greater number of losing players) created by the Milestones promo, so that was 7 euros in equity right there.
To be honest, it was not a fun experience (I don't enjoy tourneys much anyway), as I was pretty card dead and short-stacked for the duration (over two hours), but I picked up aces about 8 spots before the bubble when I was sitting in 100th, and even though I only won 3bb with them, I leaped up 40 places! After that I folded every single hand for 20 minutes (while other mid-stacks made very questionable plays) and got back more than I lost last week.

I'm still not sure if I'll play any cashgames this week. Tomorrow is gonna be a chess day if I feel up to leaving the house. Thanks for the good wishes and subscriptions etc.

Thanks. One day I'll have to ship 32s like you did. Jamming 5-high is the lowest I've gone so far, but I need to widen my range.

Hadn't seen this thread until now - entertaining stuff though and some of those screenshots are hilarious haha.

UK based and playing similar stakes myself so definitely in Penguins are pretty cool too even if they're no Panda's

Good luck!

I've been very ill, so I'm at my mum's convalescing. Apart from a couple of $4 ticket tourneys, I haven't played any poker. I'll probably be back home at the weekend and will re-engage beast mode next week.
