Since a random reg called me fish reg today I decided to show him exactly how much of a fish reg I am!

I have been playing cards for most of my life, but for various reasons (mainly being a degenerate in most parts of life) I had to take a job in January, and I have been working full-time since then. With moving, not having my computer etc. I didn't really get back into poker until 2 months ago or so.

Because I hadn't really played since November, and had no database whatsoever after my bios got reset I decided that I had to play 100k hands of zoom 50 with winrate of >5EVBB/100 before I would be allowed to go back to my normal hunting grounds at 100 zoom. My goal was to do this in the month of June, and after doing 11k hands today I am only 10k hands short of my goal, which I'll have to reach tomorrow since I'm working a 11 hour shift on Thursday! I'm pretty happy with doing this while moving (again) to a different country, starting in a new job with a lot more responsibility 1 week ago, and being drunk every night for the last 2 weeks before I actually moved.

I was going to get back to zoom 100 once I reached the 100k hands for the month, but since the results have been great I might continue for another month/100k hands on zoom 50 to see if I can do something I really didn't think was possible anymore.

I will try to do a 100k hands of zoom 50 in the month of July while working 45 hours a week+++ (I also write picks & watch/analyze in my "spare" time), and have a EV BB/100 of 10 or higher. I will also never get to play in prime time as I always work evenings every weekend, so most of the volume will be Mon-Wed and some daytime from Thursday-Sunday. Definitely not ideal, but I still think it's do-able. On a bright note, I can't really get drunk and go out every night in this job, so I wont have to play hungover/still drunk that much anymore!!

I will post graphs and keep this post updated once July starts. I'll post June's results tomorrow evening or Thursday afternoon after finishing the 100k hands.

Cliffs:
Try to do 100k hands with >10 evBB/100 on zoom 50 while working a full-time job in July.

Wish me GL!

Gl bro! 100k hands with 45 hours per week working seems very difficult. 10 bbs winrate seems even more difficult. Sn?

Best of luck. But to aim for 10evBB/100 is just stupid. Unless you are literally the best reg in the z50 pool.

Its a goal that will fail 99.99% of the time :P just saying.

Will be following either way

would happily bet my whole roll against anyone achieving 10bb/100 at 50z over a 100k hands month.

Thanks for the feedback!

I agree that it's probably impossible, but it's a nice incentive for me to keep playing z50 for another month when I would much rather play z100. It might also give me motivation to check my stats, review a hand or do anything slightly related to working on my game for the first time in a year or so!

I will also have to stop doing the long sessions where I am tired/slightly tilted and still keep playing even if I have my b- or c- game. I've always found that playing at 2bb/100 (or even break even) is better than wasting hours watching TV or something else. So I guess this will hurt my "income", but should increase my hourly, which is a good thing. Exhaustion sort of accumulates anyways, so taking breaks wont be the worst thing in the world though!

I don't think the 100k hands is a problem, I did it easily now in June with literally going out 10 times while working up to the day before I left, and then packing my 250lbs of stuff and spending 2 days moving. Euros, Tour de France, Wimbledon and plenty of big Golf tournaments is what's going to be the hardest part! Especially since I only have 1 20" monitor at the moment Might have to steal one from work, but my kitchen table at the moment is not even big enough for 2, so it'll have to suffice!

We'll see how the last 10k hands goes today, and then I most post my SN with this months stats.. :-)

long session would definitely kill ur wr and yes 10bb at 50z is literally impossible.
aiming for something like 6-7bb ev wise sounds more adorable, even that would mean good game planning, good mindset etc.

either way, good luck and will be following.

Looks awfully similar to my pgc :') BTW the best 50z reg could never sustain 10bb/100 over 100k hands. It would never be an actual winrate but COULD happen as a result from a sunrun 100k hands.

GL tho, will be super impressed with 3bb+

Gl sir I think people think 50nl is tougher than it is and 10bb/100 is doable. You have to be a beast tho. Again GL

Too much negativity!

Ok time to put the head on the block... (!) Obviously I'm gonna crash and burn royally, but what the hell! Worst case scenario is that I end up playing 100k hands of z50 with a lower winrate.

I feel like I've had one of the worst days in a while, and I really played terrible today, I got my EV BB just over 8 when starting today, and then I dropped under and started chasing from the very beginning. It might be impossible to make $50 per 1000 hands, but I wouldn't cry if I "only" got $25.

I was gonna wait until I had the 100k hands before I posted, but since I'm going out to get a nice meal and a bottle of wine or 4 before I go mental as I am yet to find a damn super market and have been living on Snickers and Lays for a week already! :P Will have to bring my book since I don't know anyone here either, how sad is that!!

Anywho, here's June:

Chasing winrate is so ****ing stupid btw, so I'm just gonna end up going on mental tilt, but I'll give it a go!

Edit: Looks like I failed miserably in inserting picture as well, so here's the link...: http://bildr.no/view/SWdKeUw5

Exactly

Just enjoy the ride and try and progress as much as possible before moving to z100.

Drinking loads!

So I decided to have a nice meal, a bottle of wine, and then I was like.. Go home and write some picks, or keep drinking obviously ended up with the latter, and tbh I can't remember much except for at some point I decided jumping into the ocean with the cruise ships was an excellent idea. Marvelous, ****ing marvelous!

So now I have a few hours to throw up/stop throwing up, do the 100k hands and get to work for 11 hours, nice life!

On a serious note; coaching. Get it!

I keep playing all these regs every day that must think they are God sent the way they play, but they lack all the fundamentals, so they end up 5betting me with the odd 74s. I don't particularly enjoy playing these regs, but I have green numbers on every single one of them. I'm not sure why they think that playing style with 28% RB is a great idea on z50, but I don't really care.

Time to throw up some sea water and get to work...

Soooo I never managed to "get to work". I managed to get to my real job at 15:45 (15min late), but that was hard enough. I have the best job in the world though, and I can't believe that I get paid quite decent money to watch my favorite sport and just make odds on it, it's awesome. Sometimes I have to remind myself that when I start thinking what the **** is wrong with me for not going back to playing poker full-time when I know I can "easily" make between $30 and $50/hour grinding. I can still play about 100 hours and hopefully make between $2-5k a month on the side, so I still have a shot at doing 6 figure earnings annually with everything.

The positive is that now I will get experience and can get a similar or a lot of different jobs again straight away if I choose to go back to playing full-time, because I'm not quite ready to shut the door for good to total freedom. I will minimum work until New Years though either way, and if I decide to quit I will need a 6 digits bankroll or thereabouts. The sickest part is that there is a real good chance that I will get offered a Head of Sportsbook job for a new bookie that is ready to launch this fall, and even though it would be the fastest progress of anyone in the industries' history and about €80k a year + bonuses and stock options, I'm not even sure that I want it. That would pretty much mean the end of my Poker/Sportsbetting career, and right now I don't really want that. I would also have to move back where I just left, and I still think I can make the same money while doing this job and playing poker/betting on the side.

I just passed the 100k hands mark for the month, and I'm having a nice 15BB/100 session now after midnight my time, so I really want to change my HEM to have the day start at midnight and not 0800 that I always have! No cheating though I wont have much time for grind until Sunday and then off Tuesday and Wednesday, but I'll get a few hours in every day at least.

Not ready to write my SN, but I can say that I think a lot of you will be really surprised (Kafrinius/Koskosmo), and I'm the only grinder on z50 or z100 with this flag, and my nick is 7 letters. Also I always have big stacks as I like 'dem long sessions when I can :-) I'm sure z50 grinders will know who I am.

Time to grind another 2-3 hours while enjoying my last beer. If the builders from yesterday starts drilling again at 9 AM I will literally cry. I haven't been as hungover as today for a while, and I am already working on scarce amount of sleep. Drilling in concrete right above me, unreal!
