Just as I expected, 10NL is definitely a different beast from 2NL and 5NL. Lots more 3 betting, fish aren't whales and aren't calling my shoves and everyone is pretty much using sort of appropriate bet sizing throughout all streets. Still some limping going on and I am raising the board with K8s, Q10o, Axo, even 74s to isolate fish. I find many times when they limp/call they are passive fit or fold fish and on dry boards you can just cbet 1/2 pot with total air and they'll fold.
Found some good spots to buy pots and I feel I'm getting back into a nice rhythm for when to cbet, when to barrel off a couple streets.
I kept having to close a lot of 6max tables and find new ones for some reason, tables kept emptying very quickly which was really pissing me off. Doing that with 8 6 max tables going is kind of a hassle. But I finally just gave up, went down to 6 6 max tables and looked for the highest VPIP stat in lobby. When a table became full of reds/yellows (TAGS and WEAK-TIGHT coloring scheme I use), I close it out and find another one.
Running about 27/23, 6% 3bet, Cbet of 55 to 60. Bit laggier than usual but that's because I was isolating fish with a much wider range and taking advantage of WEAK-TIGHT BU/Blind players.
Feeling very comfortable so far. Will post some hands below. I feel I gambled in some spots and this is probably just because I kind of came from 2NL and skipped 5NL and didn't adjust too fast in the beginning.
Hand 1, tight fold from me.
Hero raised K
K
from button. BB calls. BB is pretty normal stats so far.
Pot is .80cents
Flop comes Q
5
3
- Hero bets .51cents ,villain calls .51 cents.
Turn is 8
,
Pot is now $1.82
Villain checks, Hero bets $1.30, Villain min raises to $2.60. Hero thinks...starts to feel uncomfortable. Hero just flats.
River is 4:hearts,
Pot is $7.02 Villain leads out for $5. Hero tanks...decides to fold.
Hero has KK and blocks KQ. Villain has a chance of 3 betting AQ pre. The turn x/min raise with larger sized river bet screamed strength to me. I feel comfortable with the fold. Felt like a set to me. Villain could have had a few NFD on the turn but it would be a weird way for villain to play it OOP and as a Back door at that.
Hand 2
UTG raises to .35cents and has 70BB stack. Villain is CO with 10
10
and 3 bets to $1.10 (hoping villain would just shove, has fishy stats.) - Villain just calls, HU to the flop.
Flop is 9
A
10
pot is $2.35 and villain donks for $2.07 (sweet! now I take my time and decide how to extract maximum value.)
Hero decides to call to keep bluff range in as the A is a nice card for villain to bluff with.
Pot is $6.49 and turn comes a 5
Villain shoves turn for $4.21, all in, Hero snaps it off. Villain shows J
K
, river gives me boat and Hero wins $14.91.
Just goes to show 10NL holds lots of aggro bluff tard fishy players and it's easily beatable.
Hand 3. Probably spew on my part but the turn bet sizing made me think an A wouldn't do this.
MP raises to .30cents, Hero 3 bets to $.90 cents with Q
Q
, villain calls.
Pot is $1.85
Flop comes A
A
3
, Hero checks, villain bets $1.30, Hero calls $1.30.
Pot is $4.45 and turn come 4
.
Hero checks, Villain bets $3.50. Hero calls $3.50.
Pot is now $11.45. River is J
Hero checks, villain bets $5.39 and Hero snaps. Villain shows A
8
and Hero loses.
I feel like I should have x/folded the turn. But I just went through a few hands where villain's were bluffing (like the last one.) and felt like diamonds, 56s, 67s, air could have done this line as well.
I dunno.
Few other hands where I go against fishy stats all in pre with hands like AQs, 1010, AJs (fish was 60BB's in a 3 bet pot so I called.)
Bit swingy today but ended up in the green. Lots of all in pots within 2200 hands.
Just gotta adjust and keep picking on the fish.
had another hand where I had set on turn, 3 to a flush and villain shoves over my turn bet, I snap it off and villain had Top pair with NFD Kspades and caught the 4th spade on river (lulz)
That's it for now.
LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO.
THE GRIND IS REAL.
