Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

$100 into $8000 online Challenge: Grind the Micro Stakes Once Again!!!

Hello Hello Hello to everyone. I finally learned about Sportsbetting poker room and just deposited $100 which came out to be $93 because they take a 7% fee to start!

My history: Played part time at Maryland Live for 6 months and took $2,000 and built it into $16,000 after aggressively ascending into 2/5 and taking a shot at 5/10 which didn't go so well. 3rd hand at my first 5/10 table I flop a set vs a straight in a 3 bet pot JJ vs KQ on a 910J flop needless to say money went in fast LOL.

Life hit me. Engine blew up in my car. Brakes failed. Front axle replaced. Had $4500 in dental bills hit me. That with my $8000 bankroll on full flush not paying out, my bankroll got crushed.

Starting a new job as a fine dining server at a new local spot so this goal is meant to be a sideline project as I get situated with the new gig.

Ran $15/hour at live 1/2 and $48/hour at 2/5 the 6 months I documented everything.

My Plan: VERY Aggressive Bank Roll Management (Not Advised for Beginners!)

Starting with $93. Once I hit $110, I take 2 shots at $5NL. If I fail and go back to $100, I grind $2NL again until I hit $110. Rinse and Repeat.

$150----->Take 2 shots at 10NL --------->5NL at $130

$250----->Take 2 shots at 25NL -------->10NL at $200

$500----->Take 2 shots at 50NL -------->25NL at $400

$1000----> Take 2 shots at 100NL-------->50NL at $800

Once I get into 100NL territory I will begin my slow ascension into $3,000 so expect me to be at 100NL for a while. Once I hit $3,000 I will probably do 1 table of 200NL and 4 tables of 100NL until I begin to adjust. $4000 I probably do 2 at 200NL and 2 at 100NL. $5000 I probably go 4 tables at 200NL.

I am comfortable with an aggressive 10 BI bankroll management and I do not advise anything like this for a beginner bankroll management.

I'll probably play some 50PLO omaha as well just for fun on the side. Love that game!

Daily Goal for Volume:

Going to aim for 1000-1500 hands a day on average. 30000-45000 hands a month seems pretty doable for part time grinding at home while I get situated with this new restaurant gig and pass through the winter months (I hate going outside in the winter!!!)

If all goes as planned I definitely plan to be well into 100NL by the years end.

I'm going to post all my spew hands too, I am not going to try to rep a PRO image here!!! LOL

So let's get started! First session today at 2NL was HILARIOUS.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEE

LET'S GRIND IT UP.

***MOD EDIT (as requested): 100,000 hand milestone update

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

AHAHAHAHA

Had an AMAZING 2 hour run here at 2NL.

Before I go into details I wish to say that I am now rolled for my first $5NL shots. Won 10 BI's in 2NL in 2 hours.

12 tabling 6 max.

My set up at home. Withdrew $1500 out of my Full Flush account 1.5 years back to get dual 27'' monitors, a nice desk chair and a new desk that can hold the dual monitors that wraps around where I can put my poker journal, other study sheets, etc.

My biggest stack at the end of the 2 hours

Hand histories will follow with some words of advice for 2NL.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

September 30th, 2016. 1.45 hours of poker. 1500 hands. Starting Bankroll $95.41. Ending Bankroll at $116.75. +21.34.

Words of advice. DO NOT GET TRICKY. THERE IS NO NEED.

First I should say if you are not currently beating 2NL, you are probably still missing the absolute basics and fundamentals of poker. Which is Value Betting.

Did you just flop the nuts? Bet your hand.

Did you just flop weak top pair? Bet your hand.

Did you just flop mid pair with top kicker? Probably should just bet your hand if the board looks drawy.

Pot bets are good for flops that you hit nicely. On the turn, consider 70%. Shove the river if you have 2 pair, trips, straight, flush, set, overpair and villain hasn't been reacting aggressively to you and there is no obvious draws that completed. THEY WILL CALL YOU WITH ONE PAIR and sometimes even 2nd pair!!!

(Of course you should have built the pot up nicely pre river shove. If a shove seems over the top, just bomb the river, I mean like 70% minimum.)

Your main objective is to grow the pot starting with your flop bet. The flop bet is extremely important. I notice at 2NL, pot bets are pretty standard from other villains and are called very quickly with total trash as well.

You do not need to bluff. I bought a few pots here and there with certain board textures but I almost always have lots of outs when I do double/triple barrel.

Seriously seriously seriously, reconsider that river triple barrel if fish has called you down so far and you didn't hit your draw. It's probably going to be spew if you shove your airball.

no 3 bet bluffs. No check raising. No 1/3 pot bets.

Just value bet your made hands and check most hands you miss.

NOT C-betting at 2NL imo should be your standard if you miss.

Post in the forums and LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN to other members. We like helping beginners! Most of us offer fairly solid advice in the micro stakes.

2NL is a great time to open for 4bb with your strong range. No need to play LAGGY and open UTG with K6s or 67s.

Balancing your range and balancing your 3 bet % and balancing other stuff is just stupid to talk about at 2NL. Use beginner theory and study value betting.

Now for hand histories.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

Hand 1

MP opens for 6cents, fold fold, Hero 3 bets to .18cents with KK. MP villain flats. Pot is .35cents.

Flop comes K6Q - Hero bets .23 cents. Villain shoves for $1.87. Hero snaps because hero has top set (LULZ)

Villain shows K7 and Hero wins $3.85.

POOR FISH

Hand 2

Hero is UTG with 10K and opens for .7cents. Button calls .7cents, everyone else fold. Pot is now .17cents.

Flop comes 4910, Hero bets .11cents (I think I should have just potted it here tbh.) Villain calls .11 cents, Pot is now .37cents.

Turn is 10 , Hero bets .29cents. Villain raises to .90cents (Oh...well ok then, sir.)

Hero stuffs it in villains face and shoves all in for $2.79. Villain snaps it off.

and......villain shows 810

Hero wins $5.64.

POOR FISH.

Hand 3

Hero is BB with 66, MP limps, Button limps , SB completes, Hero decides to just check.

Flop comes 10A6 , Hero pots for .8cents. Button calls, SB folds. Pot is now .24cents.

Turn is A, Hero bets pot (I think.) , Villain calls .29cents (anyway, looks like there is a side pot...maybe someone had like .5cents remaining, I have no idea LOL.)

Pot is now .78cents, river is 9 , Hero doesn't want to think of a value bet so just shoves for $1.61, Villain tanks hard....

Villain called and shows JJ

POOR FISH

Hand 4

MP raises to .6cents, Hero 3bets to .20cents from Button with QQ, SB calls, MP calls. Pot is now .62 cents.

Flop comes 10AQ , MP donks for .39cents. Hero raises to .89cents. SB raise to $1.39. MP shoves for $3.16 (what is going on here, KJ!?? Ugh.) Hero snaps, SB snaps. Pot is now $6 somethin.

SB shows KA, MP shows 1010

river bricks.

Hero wins $6.50.

OK, THAT WAS PRETTY BAD LUCK FOR THE TPTK AND BOTTOM SET (LULZ)

As you can see, I am not shy about betting flop/turn/river or raising donks, or shoving with good hands.

LET'S GO 5NL LET'S GO 5NL LET'S GO

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

Ok just finished a 13 hour shift at my current restaurant job 8am to 9pm, picked up a chicken salad sub from wawa and a monster energy drink.

Got 10 4NL tables open, all full ring. (The only ones available at this site lol)

LET'S DO THIS.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 1st, 2016. 2 hours of poker. 1200 hands. Starting Bankroll $116.75. Ending Bankroll at $118.06. +1.31.

Ended up 12 tabling again, 10 at 4NL and 2 tables at 2NL full ring. 12 full ring going, pretty easy actually. Was up 4 buy ins, just doing my thang when I get sucked out on 3 times to flushes when had either a set or 2 pair on flop (one fish shoved turn with flush draw and caught lulz.) - Then AA cracked by 77 AIPF lol.

Still up for the night though.

Gosh, I'm exhausted. Sleep is looking pretty nice right now.

On my way to 10NL.

GRIND IS REAL.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

After some contemplation about what I'm comfortable with I have decided to make the BR management even more aggressive in order to get into 100NL at a faster speed.

$40 is my 'nut' for 2NL. If I have a horrendous downswing in micro's then I'll have 20 BI's to start again. Considering I won 10BI's at 2NL in 2 hours, I think this specific site has a weaker playing field than other sites. (With some godlike run good of course.)

New BR management.

$40----$60-----4 shots at 5NL

$60----$100----2 shots at 10NL

$100---$180-----2 shots at 25NL

$180---$380----2 shots at 50NL

$380---$$800---2 shots at 100NL

Definitely more aggressive step-ascension.

LET'S DO IT. GOT MY UBER-MONSTER (BIO ACTIVATED ENERGY BREW W/E THAT MEANS BUT IT'S MY FIRST TIME TRYING IT.)

Also another chicken salad sub from Wawa. I'm on a diet and these chicken salad subs are so addicting!

Bankroll is at $118. This means I get 4 shots at 10NL because $80 is the anchor for 5NL.

Gonna start off 8 tabling 6 max at 10NL and see how that goes.

So let's grind some 10NL and see what happens!

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 2nd, 2016. 3 hours of poker. 2200 hands. Starting Bankroll $118.06. Ending Bankroll at $134.44. +$15.94.

Just as I expected, 10NL is definitely a different beast from 2NL and 5NL. Lots more 3 betting, fish aren't whales and aren't calling my shoves and everyone is pretty much using sort of appropriate bet sizing throughout all streets. Still some limping going on and I am raising the board with K8s, Q10o, Axo, even 74s to isolate fish. I find many times when they limp/call they are passive fit or fold fish and on dry boards you can just cbet 1/2 pot with total air and they'll fold.

Found some good spots to buy pots and I feel I'm getting back into a nice rhythm for when to cbet, when to barrel off a couple streets.

I kept having to close a lot of 6max tables and find new ones for some reason, tables kept emptying very quickly which was really pissing me off. Doing that with 8 6 max tables going is kind of a hassle. But I finally just gave up, went down to 6 6 max tables and looked for the highest VPIP stat in lobby. When a table became full of reds/yellows (TAGS and WEAK-TIGHT coloring scheme I use), I close it out and find another one.

Running about 27/23, 6% 3bet, Cbet of 55 to 60. Bit laggier than usual but that's because I was isolating fish with a much wider range and taking advantage of WEAK-TIGHT BU/Blind players.

Feeling very comfortable so far. Will post some hands below. I feel I gambled in some spots and this is probably just because I kind of came from 2NL and skipped 5NL and didn't adjust too fast in the beginning.

Hand 1, tight fold from me.

Hero raised KK from button. BB calls. BB is pretty normal stats so far. Pot is .80cents

Flop comes Q53 - Hero bets .51cents ,villain calls .51 cents.

Turn is 8 , Pot is now $1.82

Villain checks, Hero bets $1.30, Villain min raises to $2.60. Hero thinks...starts to feel uncomfortable. Hero just flats.

River is 4:hearts, Pot is $7.02 Villain leads out for $5. Hero tanks...decides to fold.

Hero has KK and blocks KQ. Villain has a chance of 3 betting AQ pre. The turn x/min raise with larger sized river bet screamed strength to me. I feel comfortable with the fold. Felt like a set to me. Villain could have had a few NFD on the turn but it would be a weird way for villain to play it OOP and as a Back door at that.

Hand 2

UTG raises to .35cents and has 70BB stack. Villain is CO with 1010 and 3 bets to $1.10 (hoping villain would just shove, has fishy stats.) - Villain just calls, HU to the flop.

Flop is 9A10 pot is $2.35 and villain donks for $2.07 (sweet! now I take my time and decide how to extract maximum value.)

Hero decides to call to keep bluff range in as the A is a nice card for villain to bluff with. Pot is $6.49 and turn comes a 5

Villain shoves turn for $4.21, all in, Hero snaps it off. Villain shows JK, river gives me boat and Hero wins $14.91.

Just goes to show 10NL holds lots of aggro bluff tard fishy players and it's easily beatable.

Hand 3. Probably spew on my part but the turn bet sizing made me think an A wouldn't do this.

MP raises to .30cents, Hero 3 bets to $.90 cents with QQ, villain calls. Pot is $1.85

Flop comes AA3 , Hero checks, villain bets $1.30, Hero calls $1.30. Pot is $4.45 and turn come 4.

Hero checks, Villain bets $3.50. Hero calls $3.50. Pot is now $11.45. River is J

Hero checks, villain bets $5.39 and Hero snaps. Villain shows A8 and Hero loses.

I feel like I should have x/folded the turn. But I just went through a few hands where villain's were bluffing (like the last one.) and felt like diamonds, 56s, 67s, air could have done this line as well.

I dunno.

Few other hands where I go against fishy stats all in pre with hands like AQs, 1010, AJs (fish was 60BB's in a 3 bet pot so I called.)

Bit swingy today but ended up in the green. Lots of all in pots within 2200 hands.

Just gotta adjust and keep picking on the fish.

had another hand where I had set on turn, 3 to a flush and villain shoves over my turn bet, I snap it off and villain had Top pair with NFD Kspades and caught the 4th spade on river (lulz)

That's it for now.

LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO.

THE GRIND IS REAL.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 2nd, 2016. 3 more hours of poker. 1800 hands. Starting Bankroll $134.44. Ending Bankroll at $113.45. -$21.

Ugh. Well, then. Guess after running godlike at 2NL I finally hit a bit of variance.

Flopped a set, board paired on turn 7657, villain opened UTG with 76s and I had 55. Welp, there went that stack lol

Had a set, villain cold shoved flop with 8 high flush draw, hit. Welp. There went that stack.

Villain x/raised flop with A4s on a K49 flop, I shoved and villain snapped and hit runner runner for back door flush. I had top set. Welp, there went that stack.

Had top set of AA on a AJ4 flop, villain shoves flop with flush draw, hits. Welp, there goes that stack.

I lose KK vs 77 AIPF. Welp, there goes that stack.

I shove flop after shorty stack shoves flop to villain's cbet - a weak-tight villain who folds easily. I had NFD and shoved very happy for villain to either call or fold, w/e with that draw. Villain tanks for 30 seconds...calls with AA and I miss my flush. Welp, there goes that stack lol

Amazing I'm not too far down, I played very well tonight all things considered.

BEST HAND OF THE NIGHT. SOUL READ WITH KK OVERPAIR.

3 way 3 bet pot. I lead out flop, Weak-tight yellow player min raises low flop. I have KK. 3rd player snap shoves. Im not worried about 3rd player. I make the fold. Weak-tight villain had top set and 3rd player had draw. Saved a stack with that fold.

NOW LET'S GET OVER THE BAD VARIANCE AND CONTINUE GRINDING IT UP.

NO CROCODILE TEARS.

LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 3rd, 2016. 3 hours of poker. 2100 hands. Starting Bankroll $113.45. Ending Bankroll at $112.85. -.60.cents.

8 Tabling 6 max.

Not much to say. Got bankroll up to $160, then the last 30 minutes, had cooler after cooler. This was after playing with TAGGY nits all morning. 9am to noon, seems like not the best time to grind. Hmmmm. But they are pretty bad TAGS, just doing super fishy things even though their stats are 10/6, 20/16,even a 6/0, a few 12/0 or 14/2 villains. Nitty nitty nit fest.

But hey, if you find a fish sit at your table you can easily isolate them, 3 bet them without too much interference and that's basically how I grinded it up to $160 - targetting the fish and outplaying the "Regs".

Just riding the waves.

QQ vs 65/40 fish in 3 bet pot, fish calls OOP wtih 74s and flops a straight and shoves flop lol, lost my stack.

Flopped top 2 pair with AJs in 3 bet pot, villain barrels flop/turn, I shove turn, villain snaps and rivers a K for a better 2 pair.

Lost JJ to AK AIPF (standard coinflip.)

Lost QQ vs fish flop shove on low flop. Fish had NFD and hit flush.

These all happened in the last 30 minutes after I got to the $160 BR mark.

All together, I played great and feel great about it. Will probably get another 3 hour grind in later tonight.

GRIND IS REAL.

Thank you! I designed it specifically to be a fun little challenge but remember once I get to 100NL, it's going to become very conservative management.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

Going to grind 10hours straight starting now. 4pm to 2am.

Gonna need a couple monster drinks and Wawa subs for this one.

I'll post all my biggest losing hands and see if I'm leaking anywhere in big pots.

Running 31/24 stats the last 9 hours or so, Going to go to about 19/16 tonight just to help conserve my mental energy and play pots that are more straightforward with a much tighter range.

GOAL: Get to $160 at least by the end of the 10 hours.

8 tabling 6-max.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

THE GRIND IS REAL.

========================> bankroll at a whopping $178!!!

I'm going to take a shot at 25NL tonight even though I'm $3 short of my bankroll goal. But who cares about $3, I'm anxious to start 25NL!!!

I was crushing it and finally didn't get hijacked by a run of variance.

Hands will be posted tomorrow most likely as I will take a break now and prepare for my first 25NL shot.

I realized that $20 of my total roll is actually deposit bonus so all in all I'm +10 BI's up from 2NL and then +4 BI's up in 10NL.

Time for a monster, a Wawa sub and a short break.

I was playing dubstep mix on Pandora of Skrillex, Ellie Goulding and Supligen - I got a little 8 inch sub with speakers attached to my PC so it's actually fairly decent sound even when turned low. You can hear the warm low bass and it's relaxing. I also play Mozart concerto playlists as well, depending on my mood.

THE GRIND IS REAL. LET'S GO 50NL LET'S GO 50NL LET'S GO.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

12,000 hands into the challenge. Deciding to end my grind for the night. First 25NL shot failed. Bankroll at $142. Total hands played today in 5 hours is 3500. Ending bankroll is +$30.

At 25NL I found just within the first 15 minutes (basically what it took for me to bleed 2BI's lulz.) an 82/27 , a 52/31 and a 59/6 fishies. So lots of fish still at this limit.

Here is one hand I grinded over and tanked but ended up folding. Villain was 16/16 over like 30 hands. I sniffed something out and felt very uncomfortable on this river...

***Edited to add apologies for the lack of pot totals, I use holdem indicator right now and copying the hand history to clipboard apparently does not include pot totals for each street. Will have to add these in later.***

Hand 1 at 25NL

Hero is Small Blind.

Pre Flop: Me(SB) with [Q,K]
(UTG) folds, (MP) calls 0.25, (CO) calls 0.25, (BTN) raises 1.25, (SB) calls 1.15, (BB) folds, (MP) folds, (CO) calls 1

Flop: (K,4,K) (3 players)
(Hero) checks, (MP) checks, (BTN) bets 2.01, (Hero) calls 2.01, (MP) folds

Turn: 3 (2 players)
(Hero) checks, (BTN) checks

River: 2 (2 players)
(Hero) bets 5.21, (BTN) raises 23.45, (Hero) folds

I don't see any bluffs from villain ever here. Wheel, AK and chop with QK are real possibilities. Also if villain wanted to clear the field with 44, 33, 22, a boat is possible but not AS likely.

I don't see villain ever doing this with AA or KJ. My river bet was not a joke either so villain couldn't sense weakness.

Hand 2 at 25NL

Pre Flop: Me(SB) with [K,J]
(UTG) calls 0.25, (MP) folds, (CO) raises 1.05, (BTN) folds, Me(SB) calls 0.95, (BB) folds, (UTG) calls 0.80

Flop: (2,9,3) (3 players)
(Hero) bets 1.91, (MP) calls 1.91, (LP) folds

Turn: 2 (2 players)
(Hero) bets 4.21, (LP) calls 4.21

River: 8 (2 players)
(Hero) bets 8.59, (LP) raises 17.18, (SB) folds

I actually don't do triple barrel bluffs very often but I think I totally picked the wrong spot here on the river. I don't actually mind my flop and turn bets - For the most part. I will consider this river bet spew and keep it my 'let's learn from it' category. I just feel like I wasn't going to push out a 9x, maybe 1010 and flushes, sets were real possibilites. I'll blame it on being tired and grinding for the longest session I have done in quite some time, 8 tabling 6 max at that. (Last time I grinded online I was doing 4 tables at Full Flush , usually a couple 50PLO, a 100NL and a 200NL when my bankroll was hovering around the $6000 to $7000 range.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 4th, 2016. 3.5 hours of poker. 3000 hands. Starting Bankroll $142. Ending Bankroll at $186. +$34. 15000 hands total for the challenge.

10 tables 10NL today, 6 at 6 max and 4 at 10 max.

Ran into a super LAGGY reg with 27/22, 11%3bet and 73%cbet stats. I like to fight fire with fire. I find that it shuts them down hard because a LAGGY reg (at least at these limits) doesn't know how to fight back when someone get's laggier then they get.

He would squeeze, I would shove JQo. He would 3 bet, I would 4 bet trash. He would barrel off on KK10 flop and I would call to river 10J and win against his airballs.

I even called a 3 bet OOP with Q4s, floated the flop bet , then shoved his turn bet with total air.

Board was 7K39 on the turn and I knew he liked using face cards to run multi street bluffs. I won a nice pot with the turn bluff-shove.

FWIW, Uber Laggy Reg started to only bet for value and stopped squeezing/3betting me. I just hit back every single time. I find that's the best strategy vs these villain types. Laggy reg also started calling me down light because I had an insane image lol.

Bad Lags if they adjust the OTHER way and get even laggier I find tend to self implode from too much ridiculous play so you can play against them that way as well.

Basically get them out of their comfort zone instead of letting them walk over you.

Playing my A+ game today after a good night sleep.

My 2nd 25NL shot is coming soon. Going to 4 table and stop the shot when my bankroll get's to $100. Aggressive, yes. But I feel comfortable I can beat 10NL for at least 8bb/100.

THE GRIND IS REAL.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 4th, 2016. 2.5 hours of poker. 1800 hands. Starting Bankroll $186. Ending Bankroll at $150. -$36(actually $46 because I cleared $10 more bonus). 16800 hands total for the challenge.

That was my 2nd shot at 25NL. Got Bankroll up to $260, then hit some ridiculous &#)(%*&#)(^%(#*^%(*#. Ahaha. No big deal, I'll get the fish next time. I think I had a set and lost to a flush 3 ALL ins within 10 minutes, AIPF AKs vs a fish that flatted KK and the pot was squeezed big by a Reg so I just shoved and fish called, I lost. Standard. All in all, nothing special happened here.

Poker Commandments

I had a sheet of commandments last time I grinded full flush. I started off with about 15, and after a couple weeks I found that I solidly followed the commandments so perfectly that I could start crossing some of them off and shortening the list.

Here they are. I have it posted directly above my monitors and every time I play a session, I review my hands and put a tally next to the one I break. Almost always, I break a couple a day if only because even Semi-Professional players (where I put myself) and even the best Pro's start going into 'auto pilot' and click a button and then say "wait...wtf am I doing that was terrible" right afterwards. Right?

1.) Do not EVER play outside your Bankroll.
2.) Fold if your gut is telling you something.
3.) Think more deeply about EVERY hand.
4.) Stop getting emotional. Fish get Lucky sometimes.
5.) Review previous session hands before next sessions.
6.) Take more time to extract value with monsters.
7.) Value bet good hands and do not bluff without Equity.
8.) Win for Nala, she's your princess after all! (Nala is my cat hehe.)

Today I wish to tally (3) , (6) (They sort of go hand in hand)

There is actually only one hand I feel I played badly today. I flopped trips in a 3 bet pot with 76s OOP and flop came 665. Villain x'ed so I fired on the flop. Villain called. Turn was a brick. I fired again. Upon reviewing I think I should have x'ed the turn to let villain improve as there weren't really any flush/straight draws on board. An A or K on river would have gotten me paid more if villain had AK.

These little things add up over time. I reviewed my other hands and honestly feel I played close to perfect today.

BACK TO 10NL WITH A $150 BANKROLL. LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO 25NL LET'S GO. 50NL COMING I JUST KNOW IT.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 5th, 2016. 3.15 hours of poker. 2400 hands. Starting Bankroll $150. Ending Bankroll at $123. -$27. 19200 hands total for the challenge.

Reviewing my hands for the past 3 days. Today I definitely spewed one stack because I was 12 tabling 10NL and lost track of the action and then did something super fishy lol.

I was being put in a lot of tough situations in spots where villains I feel could have been bluffing when I had a solid hand. Not too bad, though.

I had lots of massive draws like wheel + NF draws, straight + flush draws, multiple times but didn't hit.

Bottom set vs fish turn shove, fish had straight but stacks weren't deep so I called.

Lost a few all ins like AQ vs JJ, AK vs 1010, KK vs AQ.

But I think I played very well and extracted solid money in spots that weren't so obvious. Such as playing overpairs, betting sizing to induce bluffs and to rep a bluff etc with monsters...so I won some solid hands too.

All in all I would say I could have played better. I think I will keep it to 10 tables maximum for now for 10NL.

Not much of a downswing considering it's basically just 5 BI's. Pretty standard so far.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

lol, not everyone is able to use holdem manager - some sites are not compatible.

But if I can find a software that can allow me to convert sportsbetting poker room into holdem manager or poker tracker then yes.

Thus far, I can only offer screenshots like I did earlier of both the cashier and also of holdem indicator stats query page.

Re: Grinding it Up! New Challenge $100 to $8000

October 6th, 2016. 3 hours of poker. 2200 hands. Starting Bankroll $123. Ending Bankroll at $60. -$83($10 from bonus cleared). 22400 hands total for the challenge.

As you can see, this is now a real downswing. I think it's about 12 BI's now, maybe 14. I've had worse before so I'm actually not really bothered by this much at all.

With the $60 bonus cleared and starting at $93 for the challenge, I have actually lost $93 so far. Welp.

Am I alarmed? Not at all!

Overpairs running into sets, JJ vs QQ 3 times, QQ vs KK one time, AK lost to QQ. Basically same stuff.

Here is one hand to prove to me that I'm NOT going tilt/reckless.

Pre Flop: Me(UTG) with [T,T]
Me(UTG) raises 0.35, (MP) folds, (CO) calls 0.35, (BTN) folds, (SB) folds, (BB) folds

Flop: (3,Q,T) (2 players) Pot is $2.13
Me(EP) bets 0.64, (LP) calls 0.64

Turn: A (2 players) Pot is $8.21
Me(EP) bets 1.35, (LP) raises 3.04, Me(EP) calls 1.69

River: 2 (2 players)
Me(EP) checks, (LP) bets 3.55, Me(EP) calls 3.55

Villain shows JK for the nuts.

Basically this villain I have marked as a WEAK-TIGHT player in yellow. Means that they only get aggressive with nutty hands and are even passive with 2 pairs, NFD's, etc.

I pretty much knew my set was no good after the A hit. Q's, A's, straights gave more combos then of 3's. If villain shoved river I'd probably fold. Thinking back I can probably find a fold on the river bet in the future vs this player.

If I was tilting I think I would have just jammed the turn to the raise. But I didn't.

Hand 2 - Also a well played hand imo. Not results oriented but I had solid reads on this specific villain. Note that vs 98% of the player pool, I would not do this or get into this dynamic with most villains.

Pre Flop: Me(CO) with [A,9]
(UTG) folds, (MP) folds, Me(CO) raises 0.30, (BTN) raises 0.80, (SB) folds, (BB) folds, Me(CO) raises 2.20, (BTN) raises 30.72, Me(CO) calls 7.50

Flop: (6,K,7)

Turn: (8)

River: (3)

Final:
(BTN) shows [4,4]

As you can see, this villain is 3betting me with baby pairs and stacking off preflop. I feel if baby pairs are in the range then weaker Axs are also in range. I also feel that hands such as 98s, K9s, etc are also in range sometimes.

Basically I just didn't have any good things happen today.

I truly feel like I played pretty solid all around.

The 3bet/4bet dynamics with QQ+ and AK+ I will learn as different sites meta's play a bit differently.

Maybe JJ isn't good to shove to 4 bets vs fishy players on this site? I don't know yet but I do know JJ was running into many many overpairs as of late. As did my QQ.

But honestly, I feel like getting it in with JJ vs obviously fishy players is solid play. It's not like I'm doing this vs WEAK-TIGHT players that have 3bet% of 3, these fish have between 7 and 10% sometimes and 1010, 99, 88, 77, AQs and airballs could most likely be in the range as well.

THE GRIND IS REAL. BACK TO 5NL OR MAYBE 2NL FOR A COUPLE DAYS TO REGROUP MY SANITY.
