I drove down to LA yesterday. I was mostly just hanging out and catching up with friends in the Bay Area. I did play a very short session when I went with a buddy to M8trix.

I am here a couple days so I am going to check out Commerce and Bicycle maybe a few others if I have time. I am flying to Pittsburg, PA to live with dhcg86 again. I am going to get coached and staked by KyddDynamite who is an absolute beast and has a really good thread here- http://http://forumserver.twoplustwo...kjack-1247695/
I am looking to grind the same schedule as dhcg86 and play the best poker of my life while continually improving.

Here are some more pics from Reno

Dynamite seems to be a pretty sick boy. Hopefully that puts you over the top. Good luck!

Confirmed sighting of Op in LA, recognized right away because of long hair.

I'm sitting at the airport in Burbank, my flight boards in a couple hrs. I had a great time in LA. I only played a few hrs of poker and ended up breaking exactly even. I think I played well.

I'm ready to get back into it and put in some volume.

i was thinking of heading cross-state to pittsburgh for a weekend this summer to see some baseball and play some poker. i guess now it will just be a baseball trip, since i'd probably rather not sit at a table with you, dchg and kydd. (not that you'll all be sitting $1/$3 when i get there anyway).

I made it to Pittsburgh. It is a little colder here than Vegas or CA. Great to see my buddy dhcg86 and I met KyddDynamite. We talked some poker and I have already made some tweaks to my game.

I got to check out Rivers Casino, the poker room is very nice. People have funny accents here. I played mostly 1/3 and a couple hrs of 2/5. I hit a royal flush and got a $552 bonus, seems like a good omen. I'll grade my play a B. I made some difficult folds postflop. I also ran good and turned $15 free slot play into $23.

so you count the royal flush bonus as part of your winnings? i've always been puzzled by this. it's not really poker winnings per se. i mean, yeah, it's money you can put in your poker roll, etc., but ... i've seen people not count it and people who do. i also do fwiw.

nice score.

For a bonus on my app on iPhone you can just deposit the exact amount into your bankroll and it won't count if toward your hourly which is a very nice feature.

I am counting it toward my poker winnings, I also put a note in session logger whenever I win a bonus. I know I have paid way more in promo rake than I have gotten back over the past 2 years. Previously the biggest promo I've won is $100.

Why would'nt you put it towards your winnings? Nearly all bonuses are coming off the table via a drop so your putting that $ in. The rare times you see the return you definitely earned it. Gl in pitt.

Because if you won 100K in a BBJ. Does that instantly make you a winning poker player at your current stake? Catch my drift?

I think he understands that. In the big picture, he won an insignificant amount of money.

If he hits that big jackpot, and counts it as earned money, I'll call him a noob. This is $500, who cares?

Right that is very true. Until its some very large significant amount of $ though your still not including as much as your losing to the extra drops in Bonus games, seems like including them is sensible when the amount your going to win in general (unless your one of the very very lucky few) is less than your losing to the extra rake.

This is the only goal thread I've enjoyed on these boards. Good luck man. You obviously seem like a good, solid player. Has anyone approached you with a decent staking opportunity for you to move up to a much bigger game?

Just consider any promo winnings as live rake back and just count it towards winnings. nice to see you've upped your slots game.

I've played a couple sessions, I'll grade my play an A for both. Getting in good volume too which is nice.

I will be doing a couple more week long mini challenges this month. I still owe you guys for failing the third one last month. I am trying to think something up perhaps involving snow.

I want to play 40+ hrs this week.

I agree with you guys about counting it toward my winrate. I am paying between 3 and 10 bucks an hr to the promo fund so my ev should be close to that much. Obviously it wouldn't be practical to include a $50k bbj bink.

I'm considering giving up poker to become a slots pro.

Hey thanks! I am assuming my backer will probably be willing to put me in bigger games once I have patched some leaks and have a decent winning sample at and 2/5 and 1/3/6

My stats down there are going to reflect my earnings after my backer's cut is taken out.

Just found your thread. I really enjoy reading it. Also the photos from your trips. They make the whole thing more 'real'. (I'm from Germany so it's nice to see those kind of pics).

Good luck.

I'll grade myself a C for the session. I think I spewed in a few spots such as stacking off pf with tens 66bb, should have called or 3b/f. I did do a lot of bet folding which is good, I think I might need to tighten up my cbet range a little. I have a lot of flaws in my thought processes too. I am going to spend more time thinking through each street and think about wether I am betting for value or betting as a bluff. I am going to go back through some of my favorite poker books- NLHT&P, PNL, HOC 1 and 2. I have been really bad about studying lately so I need to get on it.

I am still getting used to seeing snow

I had another tough session, I lost 2 big pots in the first 2 rounds of sitting down. I'll grade my play a C, I made some mistakes such as playing too loose oop. I also have a bad habit of being over aggro with draws without enough fold equity.

Here are a couple hands I played at 1/3-

I have AK, mp opens for 15, one call, I 3bet to 60. Old guy, stops halfway through eating his food and tank calls me, other villains fold. stacks 100bb effective

Flop- 1073

He checks, I check

Turn- J

He checks again, seems like a really great card for us as we pick up 2 strong bd draws and an A or K might be good too. I bet 100 into 148, villain snap shoves. we got trapped. We still have 25% equity and are getting pricied in so I make the call, board bricks out. He has top set, nh sir

I pick up QQ in mp and raise to 18 over 2 limps. 1 call then a guy possibly on tilt after losing a few pots makes it 75, utg shoves for 110 total. 3better only has 100 behind so I decide stacks are short enough to reship here. Villain calls with kings, utg had AJ board bricks out nh sir.

The rest of the session was mostly raising and flopping a draw, cbetting and giving up.

I am not happy with my play the last couple sessions. I have gone over hhs with Kydd and dhcg86 which is extremely helpful and I am looking to not repeat the same mistakes.

Here is one of the many bridges in Pittsburgh as seen from Rivers Casino

i think vs an old guy nearly spitting out his food in order to play a hand you dont have a profitable turn bet here. all u re trying to do is fold out chops that ure freerolling at this point?

Yeah, everyone told me I should just check behind on the turn and try to bink. It is very hard for me to not pull the trigger when checked to twice and getting such a beautiful turn card. I thought I might fold out QQ and AK, I have decent equity vs any hand.

Dude I do this all the time. I know how you feel. Thanks for posting the hand. Your boys are right about checking behind, I need to start doing that.
