Sad to see such sign, since the days of showgirls in Las Vegas are absolutely gone

Perhaps no actual shows (never been to one myself), but there are definitely still pairs of showgirls scattered around the Strip posing for photos for a couple bucks

Yeah but that’s completely different, showgirl were a classic of Las Vegas up until what 5 years ago? Decades of class, the classic showgirl of Las Vegas, an evening of class. Just it ain’t Vegas anymore, lots have changed.

DTLV

I've been back in LV for a couple weeks, grinded past the 900 hr mark for this year. I need to hit about 150 hrs for each of the remaining 4 months.

I've got a few vids in the hopper. Bay bridge hike footage, Broad Museum walk-through and a little adventure to a hidden eastbay hangout.

I dropped my laptop really hard and thought I busted my hard drive but I wiggled and reseated it and it seems to be working fine again for now. Had it for almost 4 years so I've squeezed a lot of use out of it.

Gonna update goals stats soon.

I thought I would just update my yearly goal stats, trimmed off my daily habit tracking as it was a little too tedious. I'm chugging along with the volume, logging those hours. I'm behind on a lot of things but gotta keep striving to improve, progress can be very slow sometimes and it takes patience.

Sickest hand I've played in awhile...

1/2 NL
V1 (80)- haven't seen him play a hand
V2 (620)- tag, fairly straight forward from what I've seen play with home 5 or so hrs over the last 2 days, can't remember him showing any bluffs
Hero's Image (580)- tag, table has seen me show down a couple of strong hands, haven't shown any bluffs

Preflop (3):
Hero is SB dealt 88
V1 limps MP, V2 limps LP, Hero completes, 6 limps total.

Flop (10):
983
Hero bets 15, V1 calls, V2 calls.

Turn (51):
9
Hero bets 30, V1 calls, V2 raises to 60, Hero calls, V1 folds.

River (201):
Q
Hero bets 60, V2 shoves 505 effective, Hero folds.

Gross river spot the only hands there is any chance he is over valuing is 33 and A X, we lose to all other boats. I think I have to let it go to the 200bb overbet. (Probably paying off if it's <100bb)

Gotta call imo. 2 combos of 98, only one is suited. 99 probably raised preflop at a good frequency and players aren't good at raising quads. 1 combo of Q9s. Also, 98 not raising flop so multiway is suspect. 3 combos of 33, and our hand is fairly underrepped.

We need 37% equity to call the river raise as played

Here are a few plausible scenarios:

21% equity vs Range 1: 99, Q9s, Q9o, 98s, 98o, 93s, 33

38% equity vs Range 2: 99, Q9s, Q9o, 98s, 98o, 93s, 33, A5

42% equity vs Range 3: 99, Q9s, Q9o, 98s, 98o, 93s, 33, A5, A9o

Thanks for the input. It's definitely a close spot. My first inclination was to call, turn seems like the perfect card to get action, and just flatting the turn my range should still be pretty wide so I think should probably be betting closer to 100 OTR expecting to get called by flushs.

Ultimately the factors that swayed me towards folding:

-river raises tend to be weighted towards the nuts
-river overbets tend to be weighted towards the nuts
-there was no aggressive metagame dynamics
-200bb is a huge raise at this stake especially in a limped pot

Overall interesting hand where pretty much nobody else ever folds but I feel like I dodged a mini cooler by making the nittiest play I can remember.

Results:

Spoiler:
Villain showed 9x immediately then claimed 93 as he was leaving the table.

Regardless of river decision between call/fold. Leading out for less than 1/3rd is the big mistake of the hand. Kinda seems you're probing for information. The issue is when you have him coolered with his flushes you get less value and you still kinda hate life when you get raised because your hand is underrepped and super strong. Given Villain's description, I probably check call if they bomb it and might consider raising vs a small sizing.

Additionally, he called your small flop OB on turn so now his range is weighted towards a ton of flushes (people's limp ranges can be ATC that are suited) and 9x, adjust your sizing on turn for max value. Definitely small things to consider for max value! Love the trip reports so gl rest of the way

Yeah I think check calling river makes a lot of sense. Agreed, turn bet should be bigger. Thanks for the feedback

It's a great place to live and I kind of miss it, I was actually thinking about that last time I was out there. I'll be back there for Thanksgiving and Christmas most likely.

If I do move from Vegas I will probably go somewhere where my modest earnings stretch a little further and keep CA as a place to visit. The influx of well paid tech workers and housing shortage has really pushed prices to an astronomical level. I was telling my Dad he could sell his house and buy a whole block of houses in Louisiana. He says he has no plans to move and is comfortable to stay in the Bay Area.

Yea I remembered we've talked about this before now. Its something that comes up in my career chats about once a year and the conservative southerner in me always scoffs at the idea

Spoiler:
but deep down the hippie floridian in me thinks it might be nice

It will probably be one of those things I think about doing for 10 years and never do. Long list.

I just got back from a week grinding in SoCal. Ran into few people who recognized me from TheTrooper97 vids and met fellow PG&Cer Sensimuse, check out his thread for a good read: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...e-pro-1712695/. I mostly just put in volume but also went to a beach I haven't been to before and checked out Hammer Art Museum at UCLA.
