We are about halfway through WSOP season, been playing everyday trying to get volume in. Three more weeks of the daily grind, let's go.

Shout out to Earl, we were chatting about YouTubers and poker while on the waitlist at Bellagio. He found me in the sportsbook later and gave me a $15 food comp, it actually fell out of my pocket somewhere but it was a cool gesture.

I'm still contemplating travel plans for after it's over.

I played poker everyday in June, so I am pretty close to pace for my 1500 hr volume goal.

We are into the second half of the year. I think I'll record a vid soon assessing my progress on the rest of my goals.

Had a lot of buddies making deep runs in the main, fun to sweat virtually. Always good to see friends doing well.

I didn't feel the first earthquake but I definitely felt the second one, long and rolling. We are very fortunate not many significant injuries or damage.

Savoring the last bits of WSOP action before the games nit up.

Time to get out of Vegas for a bit. Hitting up LA for a week then Laughlin for a couple days.

Gunna try and sustain my poker volume while catching up pace on my art and ramping up my running mileage. I would like to volunteer at an aid station at some races in LV.

LA was fun, got in a couple good runs at Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium and the Boardwalk. Played a little at each of the Poker Rooms. Competition is softer on average but the rake structure is much worse than LV.

Been about 2 or 3 years since Iast I visited Laughlin. Didn't play any poker here just chilled worked on some art and did a run to Davis Dam.

Back in LV now.

Nice pics! I was also just in LA...solid town, horrendous traffic. Also got some good runs in on the beaches. Didn't play poker on this trip.

We topped out at 113° this week, running after sunset is still like running through a sauna. Looking forward to Autumn and some hiking weather.

Just saw "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" with my gf. It was really disappointing, way to slow moving and too much dialogue, not enough action. For a Tarantino film involving the Manson murders I expected way more carnage. A few small laughs but it ain't no "Pulp Fiction".

In the middle of reading Roger Miret's autobiography. It's a fascinating portal back to the 80s NY hardcore and metal scene.

Indeed, lots to do but it might take awhile to get there. Good to have an audiobook or music on deck.

Been getting in some double digit runs, have been feeling pretty strong no injuries. Thinking about taking on a 40 mile race in the trails south of Red Rock in November.

Went to court and got my latest case dismissed again. Might go out and jam soon.

Poker has been chugging along, logging volume very close to 1500hr/yr pace.

Poker results from the 50 days of WSOP: +$4412 over 233 hrs

Nice job on the pace and the results, plus sounds like you are mixing in a good balance of life outside poker too.

Hard to believe we are already 2/3 through the year. Still have a long way to go on some goals.

The grind continues.

Checked out the new Kimmel Comedy Club with PGC hero RockstarRossi. Not a bad spot, not a bad show.

Andrew and Brad are having another MUG at South Point in like a week so everyone should hit that up. Went to the one there in June and it's impressive how many games they get going. I think they are both great at promoting live poker.

I've been painting a lot, doing a series of small 8x6" pieces.

Got a few clips from last couple times hangin in LA.

I checked out the new Tool album "Fear Inoculum". I give it two thumbs up. Same familiar formula of uncommon time signatures, echoing evolving riffs, volume ebbs and flows. It's their most polished release yet. Went to see a Tool cover band at house of blues with RockstarRossi, they were pretty good and props to them for already learning 2 of the 10 min+ songs off the new album.

One of my old roommates is in town. He kicked my ass at bowling last night. Gunna hit up another new hike tomorrow.

Then I'm off to New Mexico for a few days to explore Carlsbad Caverns.

Carlsbad Caverns

The New Mexico trip was awesome. Met up with my brothers, sister, sister in law and my dad. Exploring the caverns was so surreal and otherworldly. Then we got to see the bats boil out of the cave at nightfall. Absolutely incredible, unlike anything I have seen before.

Took a ton of clips so I'll give you guys a video tour whenever I get around to editing.

Broke up with my gf, 8 month relationship. We had a lot of good times together but we were both feeling it's time to move on. Super grateful for the time we got to hang.

Gunna head up to Reno next week for a few days then Tahoe for a few days. That should be fun, time to get my first taste of cold weather.

I've been ramping up the mileage, ran my first half marathon of the year. Looking at signing up for a couple races next spring: Zion 50k then Bryce Canyon 50mi.

Reno

Up here in Reno, the weather is still pretty mild, not too cold. Perfect temp for morning runs.

Seeing a lot of familiar faces from the LV and Bay Area poker scenes. It's definitely the busiest I've seen Peppermill with the run it up tourneys going on.

Off to South Lake Tahoe tomorrow, looking forward to exploring some new trails.

Had a good time in Stateline, NV and South Lake Tahoe, CA. Got in a couple fun trail runs with some vert and sick views. Played a few sessions at Harveys.

Back in LV now, planning to focus a little more on my art these last couple months of the year.

Happy Halloween!

Was grinding a really good promotion that was better than 100% rakeback for playing only 6 hrs a day. It only lasted a week before they ratcheted it back but got some decent value out of it.

Got to check out a couple new trails, one in Henderson and one near Rhodes Ranch. Logged my longest run of the year at 16.5 miles.

Facebook dating just launched a couple months ago. It's pretty much like tinder or OKC but integrated with fb. Some advantages are it can suggest people that have attended the same events as you or are in the same groups as you. Also most people check their fb notifications at a minimum once a day so the response rate is comparatively higher.

Went to the Comedy Cellar with this cute goth/metalhead chick from AZ. Smoked a few joints and had a good laugh. Then hit up mini golf with this hot girl from Boston. It was fun and refreshing to hang out and get to know some new people.

Finally got some new running shoes. Threw out my previous pair after one last 17.5 mile run to Pueblo park. They were very durable but a extra funky since running through the rain in San Antonio.

Here are a couple new vids from my art channel. I show some process shots behind painting the first set in my LV Series. I also introduce new stickers that I have in my art shop.
