Hello Guys, I'm starting off this challenge with $385 and planning to go as far as I can. I'm mostly going to be playing 5c/10c on ACR under the screen name Ivashanko. I'll post hand histories regularly along with a graph every week of where I've gone. This is my second attempt at grinding a roll and pretty much every part of my game has improved drastically. The poker dream is not dead lads!

I am also going to be playing 6 max hyper turbos, turbos, and regular sit and goes. Not going to be playing MTTs unless there is a huge overlay.

Joined a $5 sit and go 6 max, finished 3rd after losing an all in where I was ahead. However, I binked a $3 PLO hi low for 11.30, so the roll is now at $395.

Grinded some more cash games at the end and found some bonuses that I had on ACR. The biggest pot was a 4bet pot where I had 9's 200 blinds deep and I 3bet and called a 4bet. He bet big on the flop and all in on the turn, I call, he has Aces and I stack him for a $40 pot. The roll is now up to $475.

After some more questionable bankroll management and some coolers, the bankroll is down to $300. Will grind some more tomorrow.

Sounds like you're all over the place as far as format goes, probably best just sticking to 1 outside of some occasional mtt's and adhering to bankroll management no matter what game you decide to play. I don't play acr but I'm guessing sng traffic is decent on there, maybe grind up a roll in those(especially if you're capable of playing 4 tables+ profitably) before playing cash especially if the rake structure is brutal at lower stakes cash on there. Choose one format. I started with 400 on ACR this january as well, I think the 5c/10c blitz games are a great way to grow your teeth and make you a better player. Just focus on cash games, study other people's games, and you will move up, albeit slowly. Questionable BRM is my favorite though.

Good advice, thank you both. I'll just stick to 5c/10c Blitz cash games until I can comfortably move up in stakes (30 BI's.)

I'll stick to cash because it's my best game type and I think I have the most edge there because that's where I've studied the most. I tried Sngs and it didn't really work too well.

Had a really good session and run very pure. Now up to $400. This hand pretty much sums up the session.

Urez, good stuff. If you want to talk about the player pool I'm happy too. Have a couple of observations and might be good to share stuff. Would be happy to swap some of what I've learned with you.

If someone could help me with this hand it was pretty tricky. I called because I had the jack of clubs and would have easily folded without it. Is this a spot where it hard for villain to even have clubs after checking back the flop?

Absolutely, you have a discord? Pool over bets are overwhelmingly nutted, so i think in practice it’s an easy fold. Not sure what a solver does here, but he has a decent amount of check-back flush draws on the flop. If you folded 100% to overbets you will profit.

Found some more rewards on ACR. The roll is now up to $681. Should I switch to the 10c/25c games or continue grinding at 5c/10c?

This thread makes me want to.play on ACR...if for nothing else, so I can track my own stats(I play on Global so no HUDS or aides like PokerTracker)

As a general rule you should at least 20 buy-ins to play at a given level so yes, you can move up.

I have been suing .10/.20 on Global and have enough to move up to .25/.50, however I feel like I'm been struggling the last few months and the cash games so not entirely confident on moving up just yet.

Another good day at the felt, roll is up to $720. Ran a couple of bluffs which didn't get through but was stacking people all over the place by and large. Also, does ACR take extra rake for running it twice?

Solid day, not much to report. Roll is up to $783. Didn't play too much, but moved up in stakes. Feel comfortable as 10c/25c even though it's a non-blitz format. For some reason I struggle with playing more than four tables so I will stick with 4.

After getting absolutely obliterated at 10c/25c, the roll is down to $550. Going to stick to 5c/10c blitz for the next few sessions and move up when the roll hopefully goes back to $1,000.

After hitting a local minimum of $510, the roll is back to $650. I made a huge laydown preflop here, wonder what everyone thinks of it. It's my first time ever folding Kings preflop, but felt that calling was giving a donation to a tight nit after he 5bets.

Well, optimal poker, that is not a fold. What are we afraid of here? When we start to fold KK to shove, because afraid of AA, its time to take a break (dude can shove with AKs).

Going to be playing in the 90+5 MTT satellite into the 2500 Venom. Anyone have tips on how to play satellites?
