Feeling quite a bit better today so managed to put 2,5k hands in.

Had some interesting hands:

1)

Think a somewhat sophisticated reg. understands Im not really betting mid pair small here it would be way too face up. Aswell 88-99 play well as flop check I think since villain is obviously protecting. He check tank called flop so I though he can have AQ, AK and betting big against them is not good and this will likely make overpair to raise.

I made it quite tough for him overall by interpreting the weakshowdnvalue hand.

I interpret his turn small bet as some weak swdwn value hand. Basically never the 4 or the draw. River Im chose to pot to make him level I float turn with weak pair & turn it to bluff or have some AQ I type hand I now turn into a bluff. Easy vs. the shove.

obv. I could be wrong about sizing concerns but in reality I think villain should bet the 4x he slowplayed flop big on the turn aswell some 88 if he doesnt 3bet - despite that he shouldnt imo. use alot of times small betsize at all since its a decent texture for hero to barrel of its not a b flop 100% x/fold turn 70% scenario he should bet low pairs for protection.

Vs. a random guy. I really hate the B-size on turn he comes up with. Snowie says +12bb call but think its an fold. Not sure though if he plays QQ this way and sometimes something random it can be actually lead to easy call down. Will check later.

        Thanks Ballerina!

Yesterday I worked 1/2 day (2,5k) hands and went to Rizal park in Manila with my girlfriend; her name is Riza so for me it was funny to be in "her park". It was actually quite large and okayish place to be. I also cleaned my appartment very properly to get away from the dust to avoid getting sick again.

Today was my first full grind day in a long time (4k hands). Started to forget possisions during last 1k hands (c-game). I will start to repeat the preflop position and action in my mind when I notice that happening again. It leads to stupid mistakes when I donk turns or rivers as a defender etc..

Otherwise solid grind even Im sometimes obviously uncertain of some spots and making mistakes but its normal. Im considering buying pio solver, interested in using it for understanding different cbet strategies better. Im having 4evbb/100 at nl100z with 265k sample so its starting to lack challenge for me but Im way underrolled to play nl200 so Im motivated to get out of 100 and ready to put a lot of volume and study in to do it. Liferoll is now around 9k + rent paid till March 13th and flight to Thailand and flights to Finnland on summer and back.

My goal is to have 15k roll on 1st. March and be ready to start shotting nl200 again. Ive been aswell looking for Bosses headphones which block noise that comes outside. They seem quite expensive but REALLY good Ive heard. So if I succeed with my challenge I do it. Another challenge is to stay sober for a month and its now day 11. and Im not having much difficulty. I aswell havent drinked coffee while sick and realized that tea is quite alot better I can drink it much more and it raises concentration a bit and I can keep it up a bit better during the day. Coffee goes up really fast and then I get hangovered from it and drink for the hangover which makes me drink too much caffeine and get side effects. I had a lot palpilations lately and coffee is pretty bad causing them so better stay away for some time. I actually went to doctor in Finnland and they tested for 24h period and my heart just beats sometimes too early a bit which wasnt serious but cause of stress highest likely. Costed 600e to run the tests but Im happy I did it. Taking vacation was aswell super +EV I feel now having so much less stress than when I hadnt a proper vacation.

Thanks and I will not for sure!

Played 4k hands today and bought the Pio solver, already downloaded and watched a video of how to use nodelocking but seemed kind of complicated. Will get into it later. I did swimming as well today first time after being sick and it felt allright.

        H1)

This should be a fold on the flop as played. River is fine - he tank called. Maybe my timing was suspicious I remember thinking on turn kind of long what to do and a hand like QQw FD on turn has an easy check there. Smartie guy.

He doesnt rep alot and my blocker & relative handstrenght is same as some rag ace of a bit better I guess. On the other hand is this a spot that gets bluffed with the OB? Not blocking the clubs is obv. good in terms of calling.

Somewhat similar spot I think when board pairs he will have difficulty finding fold with the middlepairs. I still think turn barrel is fine planning to jam any heart Q, or Jack as a bluff.

Snowie has an interesting idea of raising small 66% of the time on the flop and folding to shove. Should be 0ev which then means its just for balancing raises when we want to stack off and we shouldnt ever balance this situation. Can even turn very -EV depending on villains range to start doing some raising there I think.

Lost 8bin today so will evaluate some hands. Had a lot of distraction from Hem lagging which tilted me quite abit, run some update so now it should be fine. Doesnt matter which computer I use it always gives me same problem of freezing and turning windows black on pokersoftware and I just need to click on the windows to close HEM and open again. Very distracting.

He seemed to have huge F3b but on Sb it was low so pre was a mistake not looking at the stat properly before decission.

Considering QQ-JJ stack off pre and we block 88w the 8 I end up targetting KQ, KJ w. one - not sure he is folding and not sure if its enough combos. Although it looks fine to barrel it off.

h1 - i don't like your OB otr tbh, he still has an abundance of flushes here

h2 - yes i don't usually go below 1/2 vs fish oop unless i have it or have a strong drawing hand, AP turn and river look ok as long as you aren't doing this every time

                                  h3 - same as h2

h4 - i'd still fold pre even if the guy looked aggro, this isn't a spot that he's gonna be squeezing wide regardless of what his stats say imo. postflop is really bleh, i call turn and fold river, but maybe calling down is ok vs him

h5 - turn/river is just spew, you have better hands and he has too many calling hands. if you're going to bluff i'd choose a 2/3 sizing as his calling range is somewhat inelastic

h6 - i probably make the mistake of calling turn as well, but i agree it's a fold

h7 - i never shove river vs a fish, he isn't folding any Ax

                                  h8 - i wouldn't do it, but i like it, wp

There is also 3bb ( i dont use this one) some condos work better with sinet some work with better with 3bb. if your in a house 3bb is probably going to be slightly more reliable. I say this as sinet has had some issues over past couple of months

Im really lost sometime with internet issues here but if your booking something with Airbnb or something just ask about the speed and stability / if its PLDT thats the best here in the Phil. everything else has been realy ****ty and even that sometimes if its shared with someone. 5 days is imo. aswell reasonable time to stay in Hotel if you pick something between 50+usd/night range they should have good enough wifi for poker. Talking about Manila now.

I played a small live tournament (20usd buy in) was 3rd. and won something like 170usd. In finaltable happened something interesting prizes should have been for top 7. players getting into the money and when there was 7. left I said "oh we are in the money or something" and got responded that nope we were already cause we made a deal that top 3. pays 1k to 7-10 so that they get buy in back. I NEVER agreed to that I was with middlestack and obviously having edge to the table - not wanting to give purely donation deal on FT. I just said in the table that realy I never agreed to it and continued playing. After going to cash my winnings the manager aswell mentioned we had some deal and I pointed that we didnt had cause I never agreed to one and no one asked me. He went to discuss with others and later on kind of forcingly said to me that he saw me agreeing to it while discussed. Which I never did - why would I have done that? I ended just sucking it up got no refund from the 1k and later on another foreigner who played on FT aswell with me came to ask if I got my 1k refunded he said he talked with the manager and its clearly his fault he should make it clear everyone is accepting to a deal before making it AND THE MANAGER TOLD HIM HE WILL FIGURE IT OUT WITH ME AND HE NEVER DID. I never went back to ask for the 1k pesos just way too annoying instead will rather go some other casino than the city of dreams in the future. Even I know its third world here in the Phillippines its still a card room organized by pokerstars and should have some sort of quality standards atleast not starting to bargain and lie to customers for 20 dollars. Its unbeleavable.

I went to play a bit cash and lost like half of the tournament prize in nl200. Game was soft but I got into sucky spots against fish and started to play too loose so I quit. Hand I remember was hero utg+2 9 or 10 handed with AQo, utg a regular or semi regular opens utg +1 fishy guy calls, pot 350, hero squeezes to 1200, get called from the fishy others fold flop comes K T5 the guy donks 1/2p both are 100bb stacks preflop. I decided to fold cause of having no backdoors. Another hand was quite similar the guy donks 1/2 pot on turn on KT2X when I have this sort of sucky handstrenght after cbetting AJ or AQ and choose to fold.

I will try figure out the PIO solver now, if anyone is interested in doing study with PIO let me know. Best would be if you struggle with nl100 or are nl50 regular or something and need some help with your game and are very familiar with using PIO we could help eachother out.

Felt this morning not like grinding much at all, decided to took a cheat day with food. Had bacon and eggs for brunch and some icecream and one beer! After my daily running I felt very good and ended playing 3,2k hands and did some study aswell. My mistake which lead to burn myself out was to just try to put a lot volume in even I wouldnt feel like and drink way too much coffee. Much better approach is to pamper myself and take it easy to make me feel motivated for the grind when I have a feeling that I dont want to play. Most of the times I like to play poker though.

I think rarely but time to time reasonable bluff here. Generally villain is going to run into 16 combos of QJ and not much else vs. the population so this is giving him pretty hard time to play his range.

                                      Thanks buddy!

Ive been putting in some live volumes (nl200) and been up from there around 700e during last couple days. Its soft game but so different than online - I feel it gives me a good balance to play live sometime. Getting out of appartment is good and enjoying online grind more after that, while thinking more of alternative lines and having more open mind. I have a lot to improve both online and live which makes me motivated. Getting reads of opponents to find good exploitative folds and bluffs which you cant do online so much etc. is very exciting for me no matter which skill level the players are - every fish is kind of unique. I enjoy the drive to casino seeing the streetlife in Manila - people playing basketball and darts in the rain on the streets and listening to some legendary american pop on the radio at the same time. I dislike the pollution here but seeing the everyday life and grind of people in a big third world city is fascinating.

Mentally Im doing well and improving my mindset but getting thoughts constantly that I should study more or I should exercise more or should do this and that.. Ive been exercising lately and I did put 3h to PIO day before yesterday and started to get the idea better of how it works. I realized aswell that I have a tendency to stress myself a lot about stuff and easily set myself up for something that I live for in the future which makes me feel unpresent. Concentrating on one thing at a time is the key to feel more present aswell having things to dream and wait for in the future but not constantly thinking how far or close Im at reaching something.

Ive also realized that the crazy thing about life is that if you try to balance it too much you will become a robot and stop enjoying and live for a schedule when one of the good things for a pokerplayer should be to be your own boss. With schedules Ive been going back and forth - having a strict schedule improves productivity but doesn`t neccesarily improve my results cause my volume increases which again kills my creativity to think about spots in poker as unique ones all the time and make the best out of them.

To conclude my thoughts I think I need to have a good positive focus, some goals and a free mind which allows me to stay creative and let pieces fall into the puzzle one by one while moving forward on my way to improving.

                                      Gl everyone

Some might think, why bother to do such thing but I was in need to get out of the city and make a trip to relax. I also know it's a gamble if the girl would show up or not - I was prepared for it but she did show up and we had a very good time. She showed me temples and we did some kind coin donation thing for small buddha statues and went to eat. After that we were at the zoo, she didn't wanted to let me come in because the cashier was asking foreigner to pay 450 baht I first tried to convince I have workpermit for 1-year in Thailand but had it at the appartment. The cashier lady stayed tough and kept asking for 450 baht. The girl didn't wanted me to pay overpriced ticket but I decided to pay us both in. The zoo was nice but not special by anymeans. I liked the girl - she was a petite type, but living on her parents so nothing bigger happened. She suggested me to take a hotel room so that we could hang out today but I wanted to go back home and took train back to BKK in the afternoon. Maybe I'll go see her again. After that I went to a sushi restaurant and it was just so much better than at any Asian buffets in Finnland (l know very limited experience from sushi) but I'll definitely start eating it more often. I also had 1 japanese beer which was awesome! I feel like praising now all the time but if things are amazing then they are!

I slept from 9pm to 8:30am today and now I'll definitely start the grind. Anyhow I see huge improvements on how I enjoy life compared to what I used to do on freetime. Waking up 6am is maybe too ambishious and 7 or 7:30 would be maybe better I wanted to wake up at 6 today but my phone didn't alarm. I realized I've been here for 10 days my volume has sucked and I haven't managed to stay in a fixed playing schedule but maybe it's not critical and it's more important I started enjoying the freedom by taking spontaneous actions. Money and schedules don't make happy but the company of other people might do. That's what I can have now even all relationships I make will be quite shallow the very most likely.
OP you end up ****in that girl or what?

Made close to 1k online start of the month and close to 1k in livegames. However lost the 1k in live and went aswell on 10bin dowsnwing at 100nl online.

Playing live when running bad is a good way to grow patience though; in one hand I opened 5bb (fishy table) from utg with kings, fish from button flats with 24o calls flop c-bet on 5T8, turn 3 calls my bet, river 6 .. Aswell was funny on a 100usd tournament when I had round 22bb left I open QQ, BB (grandpa) flats flop Qxx mono board I cbet grandpa minraise I ship he looks super frustrated thinks about folding for sometime and then calls and shows jack high flush and he looked so frustrated seeing my queens. You cant win if you always wait to have nuts on river, lol !

I have my flight to Chiang Mai on 13th. and going to stay 2 months. Untill then will play online. It gets too expensive with withdrawing costs to play live here because I dont stay very long. I would need to exchange the pesos I win to thai baht cause I cant bring over 10k pesos out of the country so overall its better to focuse on online now. Sometime I will rent condo for longer period near the casinos in Manila and focus on live. Hopefully will be stacked well enough for 2/5 that time.

Otherwise I have it kind of open what to do after the two months in Thailand. I have been considering to go to some of the islands for holiday for a week or so and then maybe for couple days to Macao and from there I could go back Manila for sometime. Aswell visiting Malesia or Myanmar interests me but I cant grind from neither of them and I just have a sportbag with me which is kind of uncomfortable to carry so Im not really into some extreme hiking or stuff like that I guess. Borneo rainforest would be worth seeing though in Malesia. I will go tomorrow to Thai Embassy to get visa and think about my plans tomorrow and make decission where I take flight from Thailand and wether I go to some island holiday and make the visa extension or not.

Back to online grindz properly. Month so far +4k online doing realy well and started to take shots at nl200 again and its going well there so far aswell.

Had some health problems and went to check up and doctor said it sounds like could be kidney stones, I got CT-scanned and had nothing wrong with kidneys or anywhere. Such a release Ive been super happy and feeling realy blessed today! Did put 4,5k hands in with good focus.

                                      Good bluffspot imo.

Two hands I could have bluffed river:

                                      1)

I got stuck thinking about the sizing - we can maybe jam or make it close to jamming he is anyways so capped on AA-KK and I dont end up bluffing this alot.

Against a fish.. Does he fold AK without the flush..?? My intuition says they make martyr call most likely and might do kind of lot checking with the nut flush aswell so I ended giving up.
