Sooooooo May finished and after being up $3k in about 20 days I'm really gutted to have fallen away the way I did. I'll post the final graph for May when I'm ready, but I'm glad May is finished as I can focus on making as much $ in June as I can.

Off to a good start this month so far. My goals are to make $2k pre-rakeback, to break even in MTTs, to not play a single hand of PLO or HU Zoom, and also if anything happens like what happened at the end of May (-40BIs), to insta quit before things get as bad as that.

With a required cashout the roll is at $1360, and 64,343 fpps. I'm going to Berlin in 11 days, going to try and grind out another 36k fpps before then, and have the roll at $2300.

      Happy grinding in June everyone!

Rubbish day today, played really well for the first 2.5k hands and then just freefalled for the rest of the day. Disappointing stuff but at least it's not a -1k day! No hands again, need to start grabbing some. I lol-called for 2 stacks today, really disappointed with that.

Still +$323 for the month, roll at $1212 (don't feel comfortable being under $1500) and 67,018fpps!

work on your mental game, especially if you're full time. you won't succeed without a much better mental game.

i used to be exactly like you, just from looking at your hands and the way you talk in your posts i can see what i used to be like. i did **** loads of work on my mental game cos it held me back loads (500k hands of breakeven at 50z lol). im only at 100z now so i've not made huge progress but making so much progress with my mental game was the best thing ive ever done.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond. Could you elaborate on what you did to improve your mental game? It's definitely something that's holding me back.

I think I need a break. Unfortunately I have a VPP bonus for $2600 that I need to clear by the end of this month. If I can reach my goal of $2k this month, cash in my fpps for my bonuses and make the $2600 bonus I will take some time off after that.

Cool, you're near 200k VPP's for the year already?

      That's pretty nice volume!
      Grinding Past the Fries Quote
      06-06-2014 , 10:13 PM
Yup, and that's with barely playing in Jan & Feb. When I'm stuck for the day I have the ability to grind for hours on end, it helps with the volume.

A sticky couple of days (well, yesterday was hella sticky, shambolic even, today was good). I've started taking mini-breaks after badly played hands & coolers. 10 min breaks where I'll sit and play candy crush (no ****), watch videos online etc, and it seems to be working. A lot of my spew comes after a cooler or a light stack off, so hopefully that'll help me calm down. I can still count 3 stacks I lost today that I shouldn't have though.

Yesterday has disrupted what had been a good start to the month (and the road to recovery after the end of last month), but I won't let it get me down...

This just happened. I knew it was gonna happen, people always say that, but sometimes you can just feel it, and I fkn knew it was gonna happen! Insta quit for the night.

Have you ever played speed at opoker? I think with your volume you could get a good RB Deal (70%+) and it seems that maybe overall you could earn way more there, at least during "prime time" where games run smooth at ipoker.

Yeah it's just for a week or so til I get to 100k fpps. I know it's tight but I've played with less.

Edit - I've also never looked into anywhere other than PokerStars? I'd be keen to hear other people's thoughts on using other sites.

iPoker's software is complete AIDS but if you can get over that it's probably better.

I agree on the software. Its crap and sometimes things like the autorebuy bug. Also the playerpool is much smaller so often if you don´t grind during "prime time" you have 4 to 5 handed games running at speed and overall because of the software and the smaller player pool you get a little less hands/hour compared to stars but i think your hourly could still be better there with good rakeback. Whats your hourly at stars with supernova four tabling 50nl zoom? If you want to try ipoker i would just get a good deal at william hill or betfred. I grinded both and the support was decent and payouts were fast for an ipoker skin, but not as good as at stars.

How is this possible? 100nl zoom and I only get 300 or so vpps an hour. Do you 6 table or something? My guess iz that you still have to put in 60k+ more hands to reach 200k which is a long ways away.

Fpps dude, not VPPs. I have 78k fpps, need another 22k fpps, i make roughly 3500 a day, so it's about 7 days away. I have 18,200 vpps to go, which I'll make before the end of the month!

The last few weeks have been a bit of a mess. The most disappointing thing for me was I was making about 3/4 BIs a day every day in May, I thought I had it sussed. I am just focusing on getting thru this month, making about 5k in bonuses and hopefully reaching my goal of 2k profit pre rakeback. I'll take a week off at the start of June and then I'll take it from there

Great thread. I didn't know they had internet in Motherwell yet! I done my bike training at Route 66 there.

I think us Scots are prone to tilting /anger. We probably need to work on it more, and approach the game with a zen like calm.

Haha I live in Inverness mate, born and bred! Just somehow ended up a 'Well fan... where you from?

Been a funky few days. Played on Sunday night and dropped like 4BIs in about 500 hands, was too tired and just gave up instead of trying to grind it back. Played all day yesterday and just didn't get into any good spots despite playing well (absolutely no action with AA and got KK in once vs KK). I got a bit of fortune today that has been lacking lately (not necessarily sucking out on people, just action with my sets, big pairs, people bluffing into me for stacks etc). Volume hasn't been the greatest over the past few days. I need to do 16,400fpps in 3 days

It's been a swingy month so far, still affected by THAT week at the end of May, but confidence is coming back. Starting to bluff-catch a bit more effectively, and controlling the tilt again. The graph is missing about $75 worth of profit, my PS randomly resets itself to factory settings from time to time and the first 20 hands today weren't saving hand histories, hence they never showed up in the graph.

Roll's currently at $982, 83,367 fpps and 3 days til Berlin!

        Spoiler:

        ...I'm a bit excited.

EDIT - forgot, I have a hand I wasn't sure about today. Right at the end of today, a bit over-confident and could've maybe got away from it OTR...
