Been following for a while, GL!

Games are way tougher now than they was 3ish years ago from when I used to grind 50nl/100nl. Miss the days of living off the 60% ipoker RB... Almost forgot what it's like to never having to set an alarm or be somewhere you don't want to be

how would you say games have changed in the last 3ish years? (since early 2012/late 2011 I assume?)

I think overall there are less break even/losing regs since governments in Europe regulating and then segregating their play. Black Friday obviously had a huge impact on the game of poker and how fanatics viewed it. I think there's way less rec's depositing as well since 2010/11. There used to be very little bum hunting of any kind, over time I think that tradition has filtered down through to the small stakes game.

People just made more mistakes in general, preflop wars used to be fun (zoom I think has kinda killed that) and like any game, I think gradually as more and more information is posted online and training videos got released everyone got better. (any serious regular would now have a subscription or know about 2p2)

If you got the top 10 winning regulars at each stake in 2014 and compared that with the top 10 from 2011 there would be a pretty huge difference in win rates.

-800 might not be all that out there as a result over a small sample with the odd set up.

Definitely a good thing to work on though...
Something that I need to be working on for sure! Got a few Skype buds who are gonna talk about this when I get back from Malta, should be v helpful.

Thanks very much. One of the reasons I just said "fk it" and went for it was the whole clock watching and alarm setting. Glad to be out... for now!

I know your question wasn't directed at me but I definitely think 50 and 100 are certainly beatable and probably always will be. Just depends on what Stars do next year as to whether or not it's live-offable

Quick session today, was flopping the nuts everywhere and getting set over setted at the same time. As a wise man once said, the Malta rungood is real

Malta's a very cool place. Flight was a nightmare, listened to "Water Landing" by 3eb on repeat as we took off, a song about a plane crash, it weirdly soothes my fear of flying. Simon's place is very cool, would love to live in a grind house, maybe one day! Potentially playing a live donkament tomorrow, should be a hoot.

Take it easy everyone.

Ty sir, wish u were here!

I played really really horribly but ran like gold, should've been down about 10bi's easily. Sorted myself out mentally and towards the end I was properly in the zone, decent day overall. +$1887 this month over 75k hands. Really need to smash the volume when I get back from Malta before Portugal next week.

Last night was top class, really good night. The area we were in wasn't that busy but we went into a bar called FunBar (to be fair it was pretty fun bar), quality atmosphere and a great laugh. People were buying large bottles of booze from the bar and pouring them straight into strangers mouths all night. Here's a pic of OP and one of said guys... will give you one guess which one OP is...

Spoiler:

Live donkament tonight, 110e with 1 rebuy. Gonna ship the **** out of it!

Hey I just met you, and this is craaaazy...

Missed the live tournament last night as I thought it was an 8pm start with 2 hr late reg, turns out it was a 7pm start, and we missed it by 20 mins! Boys wouldn't even let me play BJ for a while, nits! Came home and FPP'd into the Big $55, had avg stack at the bubble but unfortunately finally bust in 66th after rocking a 4bb stack, doubling up and then jamming KJo into AKo

Doubt I'll play any today, off out to explore Malta and then get ****ed up tonight, gl all!!

Aha! Missing you guys already, I'll be back!!

Dire dire month for volume so far, back from holiday today and still no motivation to play. Results obviously been great, got 66th in an MTT for $200 and a football coupon up for £90 while I was away, the Malta rungood is real, real I tell ya! Gonna dig deep and get some volume this week, me and the gf off to Faro, Portugal on Sat! After that I'm not going abroad again for a while (I give it a month). Was hoping to have a $1600 bonus cleared by the time we go away, FPP balance currently 11.5k, so that's not happening...

Sleeping pattern's a bit mental, and quality of play has been hot and cold since returning. When I'm good I'm good, but when I'm bad I'm pretty damn bad. Gonna sleep for a few hours just now and will probs play again later. Wanted to update thread tho coz played some rly funky hands...

I think 76s is good enough to flat on the button (we can squeeze this from MP though), 54s, 64s, 75s, 85s, etc are probably better candidates. turn seems pretty bad, we are in really rough shape vs his calling range. we have better hands like 7xhh, 9xdd, 85 or 86s to get in than this. i like that we can comfortably fold this hand knowing that we have some high equity bluff hands to get in instead.

V happy with my month so far. Barely played last night, about 900 hands max. Plan for today is go buy a new mouse (left the last one in Malta... honest), log out of Skype, grind 7k fpps.

Also, went to see "The Gambler" last night, still trying to work out if it was awful or brilliant, think it's the latter.
