Lmao so much this. Also the "scotland has to brexit" chat just shows how out of touch certain people are; in 3 years time when we're independent and part of the EU these people still won't even know what's going on! Also lmao at the William Wallace reference.

Thanks a lot for all the posts itt, every time there's a new one I read it and it helps break up the day a bit. They are incredibly entertaining, especially one or two particular posters

First day of cash grinding in a while, I lost $8200ish. Lost a flip at the start, we were playing 10/20/40 and I put the double straddle on coz the whale was thinking of leaving the game and I wanted to keep him happy. I get 88, folds round to SB who limps AKo (lolol), whale mucks and I raise to 320. He makes it 1100 and I Phil Hellmuth style snap push all my chips in jam. Guy calls and insta asks to RIT which is a nice sign. He rivers me on the first one and I'm almost dead on the second flop. I was due to lose a flip the whale eventually leaves to play 50/100. We're in the main game and he eventually wants to come back. The whale's seat re-opens and he wants to come back. There's a must-move though and he's trying to get back into our game. He brings his chips back to the table and the dealer is trying to get the floor to come over to put the guy on the list. I chuck the dealer $10 and he chucked it back. I was like "no, no, just let him stay... that's for you..." and chucked it again. Dealer finally got the message and took the bribe lol. Floor came over and was like "actually how long were u away from this table?" to the whale. It was like 2 hours but me and the whale both said at the same time "like 30 mins" and floor was like okay take a seat. Bzzt!

Couple more fun hands from today. UTG German reg who's playing a limp-only strategy (and playing it very well from my limited experience), I isolate QTss on BTN, BTS student who is a veeeery good online player (and I'm not just saying that coz he reads this ) makes it 480 from SB. We're pretty deep so I peel. Flop is QQ7ccx. He bets 320ish and I call. Turn 4x. He x's and I xb. River 7x. He x's and I bet 2040 into 1680. He takes a few mins and eventually calls. Think this is rly well played and would only rly take this exact line vs a good player. I toyed with jamming $6k int $2k OTR for a very brief second haha. One more hand vs same guy. I open 55 UTG and he calls UTG+1. Flop comes down KK5r. I cbet 1/3 and he calls. Turn is a fkn 5 and I'm like omgggg here we go. I bet 75% pot and he thinks for like 20 secs and I'm sitting there so excited but he just goes "ahh I shoulda folded pre" and mucks. I'm like "nooooooo!"

Rec opens MP, he'd been somewhat tight but still playing a few pots from time to time. Bbissick 3bets to 220. I cold 4bet A9s to 780 from SB, and the rec jams for 1640 or something. Folds to me and I obv have to call it off for like 850 more. Rec just has AA for the ultimate tilt spot. Bbissick is of course 3betting the rec appropriately hence a wider cold4bet range. He told me he had J9s after the hand. I made one really bad bluff at the end of the sesh. I open 22 in CO, really bad group of French regfish friends at the table, one 3bets btn to 200, I call. Flop 347hhx (I have 2h) xx. Turn Qh. I x and he bets 240, I raise to 800, he calls. River Tx and I shove 2k into 2k. Fine from a theory POV (esp on this flop coz I have sets and straights too that will take this line) but in reality vs a regfish just not good at all. He calls KQo no heart.........

Also lost $400 playing red/black to bbissick. Sun running mfer.

Weird how like 2 weeks ago I'd have been rly gutted to have a big losing day. Now that I've played a bunch of 10/20/40 lately I'm legit just raring to go again tomorrow.

Ty to the mods for cleaning this thread up.

Lost $8,800 today. Slow, painful bleed. I did get QQ in vs TT for a 3.5k pot, but other than that I can't think of a single pot I won that was >$500. Genuinely. The most fun hand I lost, CO older ultra nit rec opens to 60, BTN super bad reg makes it 220, I make it 760 w AA. CO snap jams $1780 total and BTN starts asking for a count. I'm thoroughly delighted he didn't snap muck only for him to fold 5 secs after asking for a count. I snap and show the rec and ask if he wants once or twice. He says he usually does it once and referring to my hand says "I can't beat that." KJ2r flop. "Now I can." The kinda thing I'd say, so I appreciate the banter. He had JJ. Other than that I ran one bluff which I've spoken to two very good players about, one thinks it's pretty good, another thinks it's a mistake.

20/40/80, I am in the 80. EPish opens to 120, I call A6ss. Flop is Js6x2x. I xc 90. Turn 7s. I x and he bets 300 into 450. I pop it to 1120 and he calls. River Qx and I shove and he calls w AA after a minute. Talked a lot about this hand and I said I'd flat all my sets OTF for his 33% sizing, but apparently we should raise bottom and middle set, and raise some like QTbdfd etc type hands (from a theory POV). If that's the case then I of course don't take this line with all my sets as I raise them OTF. However if we don't have a raising range OTF then we of course play all our sets like this. Also someone said we should raise some non pair draws OTT instead of hands like A6ss. The only hands that we really have are AQss and KQss. They're not gonna bluff the river coz they pair up. So I think that this is one of the only bluffs I have here, and thus I've concluded I like my line. My turn raising range for value is 22/66/77/JJ/67s/J7s/J6s. All those value combos and very very few bluffs on this runout, annoying to get called in hindsight.

The games were super reggy yesterday and today, and I had literally so many spots where I'd squeeze pre with KQs/AQo/AKs etc etc and have to just xf on 965fd, or I'd call a 3bet with standard hands like AJs or 33 or 78s and just brick every time (not complaining about this, just explaining the following), my table image must've been so weaktight/passive/bad reg. There was a Croatian chick at the table who legit 3bet the **** outta me today. I felt a little violated!

Confidence taken a bit of a knock after today's efforts, so I think I'm gonna revert back to 5/10 at The Wynn for a day or two, just to minimise variance and focus a bit. I toyed with the idea of heading home next week but props to BigAisAok for talking me into almost definitely staying until mid July. Got a great network of friends out here this year (as I do every year), especially the boys in the house. It's been a ****ing blast so far!

Edit - just re-read after posting and it sounds like I wanna go home coz I had 2 losing days, that's not the case; my older brother is turning 30 at the end of June and I'm gutted to be missing it!

I think that a6ss is pretty unnecessary. I guess you would float flop sometimes with KT bdfd T9 bdfd? Bet is less than 1/3 pot. These seem like better bluffs as they can never win at showdown. I also think having the ace of spades is really bad, one of the things that helps your turn check raise river shove bluffs is him auto folding with Axss that he bet twice. On top of that, the range you’re trying to make fold is his one pair value hands, ie AA AQ. So having an ace is pretty bad as it skews his value range towards two pair/sets a little more.

Also A6ss can call turn getting decent direct odds + good implied + it’s live poker your opponent is going to shut down with worse fairly often and you will win with your pair of sixes. I think when you’re bluffing vs any non elite live poker player you want to do it with hands that do well when they make standard folds, rather than hands that require a good, thoughtful fold from your opponent. Again this is why I’d rather be bluffing with ten or king high. That’s a pretty general point but I think it is reasonably sound advice for mid-high stakes live cash.

fwiw A6s reduces AA combos from 6 to 3, and reduces 76s/66 combos from 6 to 3, it does not skew them towards more sets/2pairs. Whereas having KTs reduces KK combos from 6 to 3 but does not reduce 2pair/set combos, so if anything bluffing with KT skews them to having more nutted hands.

Your other points I don't contest at all so I'd still agree with your conclusion, just thought I'd point that out.
