I wake up early on July 1st after a few hours sleep, an absolute balloon of emotion and pure exhaustion. Me and Adam from the current house are moving into another house with bbbisick. It's all been very last minute, and I've found us a place north of the strip. I get into an Uber, it takes around 30 mins to get there, and it's miles away from everything, in a very shady area, and a total and utter dump from the outside. First to arrive, I go in and pick my room (en suite one obv). Go to have a shower, doesn't work. Go to use the main bathroom, big ****er of a dead cockroach on it's back in there. Brilliant excuse to cancel the booking, get a full refund etc. Phone VRBO, complain, speak to the host, he starts giving me grief because he uses VRBO to pay his bills and "one more bad review" and he's kicked off the site. It's a total hoo-ha, and I'm phoning them both back and forth from Skype on my laptop. Two hours sitting there sorting it all, I finally get the refund confirmed. Wanked into a hand towel and Ubered it to Mixgrill's place to stay for the rest of the trip. I spend the rest of the day playing RunItThrice with bbbisick and Andreas. Extreme rules RIT though. I lost a lot lot lot of money over the few days that I stayed in that house. There was one day me and bbbisick played like 14 hours HU and at one point we were on a 16x multiplier. Top board was like 999 or something and after we agreed we were ready he goes "ok just so you know I have a nine". I won the middle board with ridic runner runner to fade the scoop which would've been paid double. Like I say extreme rules. Lost chunks but was fun.
Wake up on 2nd July fairly early. Uber it on over to Wynn. As I go in the memories of 2 days before really hit me, absolutely loving life at this point. Stick my name on the 2/5 list. It's huge. I decide to sit in at 1/2 PLO. I announce to the table that this was my first time ever playing live PLO (which was techincally true). 4 hands later and I'm up like $80. Absolute button clicking those 4 hands haha. I notice that the daily $400 is still on late reg but it's closing soon. I hum and haw and decide to flick it in. Last level before end of reg.
I don't have many hands logged but I remember I got up to 2.5x starting stack within like 10 hands without going to showdown. 18k up top, 20 paid. I get towards the money and play a fun hand. Regfish opens MP, I decided to 3b KTss in CO, he flats. Flop is QJ5hhs. He donk overbets flop to 25k, I have 36k eff and decide to jam. He starts humming and hawing about whether to call the last 11k. He honestly takes 2 mins and calls. I'm like wtf do you have. He has AK. Turn is a 9 and he starts berrrrrrating me about how he made a really good call (for 11k into a pot of millions lolol). Glorious.
Again I'm going through a whatsapp group to re-live this and post the hands etc. At this point of updating my friends I text the group saying "the tranny text me by the way". Just remembered on 1st July we all went out and I got ****faced and ran through a fountain with a transexual hahahahaha. Apparently I also gave her (him?) my number. Andreas dragged me to Hash House a Go Go after it and I sat there at 5am freezing and drunk and hungover and miserable while he ate. Such good times.
Bleeding a bit as we go towards the money. I get myself up to 170k with 4 left, average is about 120k. I lose AT vs J5 (aggro Spanish guy in Co jams like 6bb, I call SB). I'm on the verge of bubbling now. I remember now actually that I took some really aggro lines and 3bet jammed light a few times to chip up on the stone bubble.
We scrrrrrape into the money with about 8bb, and then it happens. Short stack jams EP, I re-jam AJo in MP, folded to BB. Snaps us off. Shorty in EP has A2o, I have AJo, BB has AA. "Ahhhh nice hand nice hand" I say. I do the old 'stand up and start to gather my belongings' thing. Dealer burns and turns. Window card is a ten. At that exact moment, I swear to God, time stood still. The planets aligned, the moon and the stars were one, and the poker gods said "You know what Gazzy? Here you go m9." KQT flop. BB is obv a rec who looks like he's playing his biggest ever MTT and looks absolutely distraught. I don't blame him! Grind into the final table, I remember needing to pee more than I'd ever needed in my life. I actually asked the TD to pause the timbey with 11 left so I could go, he just lol'd at me haha.
Unfortunately I don't have any FT hands logged. I remember there was a rec there, late 20s, absolutely massive muscular guy. He kept doubling up in ridiculous fashion and high fiving the table. Everyone was raging he kept doubling and they were misising dat $500 payjump, but fresh off a $35k bink I was high fiving him at every opportunity haha.
We get down to the last 6 and the other guys wanna deal. I'm hungover and tired and decide that dealing is chill. There are 3 guys all around the top stack, 2 of them are regs and 1 is a foreign rec who doesn't know what the **** is going on. Me and another guy have middle sized stacks, and 2 guys (one rec one reg) with shorter stacks. We deal it out that 2 of the top guys get $9k each, me and the foreign rec get $8k each (he could've got more if he knew what the **** he was doing but he seemed happy so **** it), and the 2 shorter guys took $7k. TD says "ok that's that sorted then, but one of you $9k guys gotta take the trophy". I immediately say I want it.
One of the $9k guys says he wants the points for winning (no idea why) so the other guy is like "ok I'll take the trophy.... Scaaaatland I'll sell it to ya if you take $7900?"
"$I'll take $7950!"
"$7925"
"...deal."
From -$7k playing the softest cash games in the world to binking $43k in the space of 3 days. Safe to say GazzyB123 was a happy boy after that.
