Hello 2+2'ers, it's been quite some time since I've been on the digital felt and I wanted to create a PG&C thread to keep me accountable and track my progress. So let's just jump right into it and get started, with a little about me.

I'm 27 years old, live in the suburbs of Philadelphia where I currently have a job, a car, a gf, and the urge to get the hell out of this ****hole. I'v'e been playing poker for 10+ years, online/live, shady car dealer games, home games, et cetora. I've always had a competitive nature and genuinely enjoy games that involve strategy, out thinking people has forever been something I excelled at whether it be on or off the felt. I attended university where I studied 3d Animation, I did not finish my degree as I was dating a girl from Brasil, ended up leaving school and moving to Rio de Janeiro. In hindsight this was probably not the best move, but an unforgettable life experience that I will never forget.

I would like to establish myself as a winning player online while building a proper bankroll in which I can take elsewhere (outside US) to play full-time. This is my main target, all while not developing any bad habits in the process. I am going to be approaching this in a nitty fashion so to speak, as in the past online I had the issues with bankroll management (playing underolled) for desired stakes. Also while not mass multi-tabling in the early stages so I can plug my leaks and make proper adjustments. So without further ado let's get into the particulars.

Bankroll - $2000 (USD)
Stake - 25 NL (6-Max)
Tables - 6 tables for first 25k hands
Bad Habits - No graph checking during play, limit distractions, avoid whore houses

This will be a long journey for sure, but I believe in going after what I want, making sacrificies, being honest with myself, and not letting anything get in my way. I will be completely transparent with all of you about everything going on in my life and poker. Currently I have a 5k life roll, I'm going to continue to work part time and just build that as much as I can. I will try to study spanish daily, using (Rosetta Stone), continue my exercise regimen, and stay healthy (eating/drinking/etc). I'm excited and eager to get started, and any support/criticism/haters/whatever is welcomed with open arms. Will update as much as possible, so stay tuned!

If you believe in going after what you want why would
You avoid whore houses? Does not compute.

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope the weekend festivities are enjoyable and the grinds are going well. So today was my first day back online, only put in 3 hours to do the fact that I'm working a 8 hour graveyard shift tonight. Did a mental warm-up with what I wanted to focus on, what my short term goals are and got a good playlist ready for the session. I started off playing some 5NL since there were super long waitlists for 25NL, once I got 6 tables going of 25NL I dropped the others. Feeling confident and clear minded, I did not feel stress from losing all-ins, making mistakes, and or having the urge to check my graph. I wore a rubber band around my wrist in case I want to look at my graph, I snap it real quick and then go on grinding (only happened once) during today's session. I feel my play had good lines, a few good steals here and there, and also some silly mistakes. The good thing is that at 25NL making mistakes is cheap, so I can make adjustments and plug my leaks while getting used to grinding again. This upcoming week I am off Mon/Tues/Thur so I will for sure be getting three solid days in, with the possible 4th on Friday as I work the graveyard again. Here is my graph for today, with a few interesting hands from the session.

Tried to put in some good volume on 3.7.15, turned out I hit my stop-loss then proceeded to try to grind through it and just completely failed. I got home early from work around 1:30 a.m and thought it would be a good time for some sessions, was down probably 5 or 6 buy-ins and wasn't really fazed at all. Called it a night, and then the next day I was off from work so I thought I could turn it around. Ended up playing breakeven almost for about 2k hands then the doom switch came around. Here are some hands from the sessions.

No one's really replied to this yet but I thought I'd say good luck with this, keeping working hard. Variance is a big thing but you have the roll and really have to be indifferent to it. At the start of a challenge it's always nice to run well as a confidence boost but that isn't going to happen every time.

Here's my thought on some of your hands (from your second post), I'm by no means an expert but thought I'd give it a shot. Maybe increase your c bet sizing by a bit btw.

H1 - Up to you whether you want to get in AKo pre OOP. That 4 bet sizing is usually pretty strong but this spot just comes down to personal preference and how often the BTN is 4 betting BB light at this stake (maybe sometimes depending on villain).

H2 - Eh I mean I don't love the 4 bet, yes we have good blockers but when he 3 bets vs your UTG range he's generally a lot stronger than if you opened CO/BTN etc (I love the 4 bet when we open in LP). I don't even hate checking back flop with zero equity but c betting seems fine. On the 7 turn part of me doesn't hate sigh shutting down even though we rep a strong range. I don't hate the line but as you said micros, the fact that someone called a 2xpot with a flush draw and two overs on turn says it all. Bluff less in these spots and wave the white flag more.

H3 - can make c bet sizing a bit bigger but 1/2 is alright. calling the raise seems fine with decent implied odds vs weaker players. Turn jam seems fine.

H4 - I like the flat, could 5 bet fold but we're in position and i don't mind seeing a flop here. Calling is totally fine. On turn it's pretty much a must bet. No way we're folding when is jams and lol.

H5 - Can flat or three bet, I don't hate flatting since when we get 4 bet we have to fold a hand that flops pretty well. That being said we need to bet more towards 2 dollars on the flop. Giving a lot of his range a great price to continue. Calling his raise seems alright, could just jam but keeping bluffs in his range is a good thing. Turn is fine and I like check calling river and letting his bluffs stab.

H6 - Fine to peel a A2s imo, calling flop is fine, calling turn is pretty spew imo unless we have a plan for river which I'm not sure if you do on every run out.

Wait what?! Why are you playing 400nl?

"I would like to establish myself as a winning player online while building a proper bankroll in which I can take elsewhere (outside US) to play full-time. This is my main target, all while not developing any bad habits in the process. I am going to be approaching this in a nitty fashion so to speak, as in the past online I had the issues with bankroll management (playing underolled) for desired stakes"

I'm going to go out and say it right now that you have no chance of playing full time if this kind of stuff happens.

You're probably going to reply something like "I realise it was stupid and I know I ran really well but I'm just super focused on crushing 25NL and 50NL and it won't happen again", unfortunately I wish I could believe these kind of statements but there have been way to many times people go broke from this kind of stuff. Why do you think you'll restrain yourself from doing it again. If you create a whole PG+C and talk about approaching the challenge in a nitty fashion and then just go on to play 400NL a few days in I don't know how anyone let alone yourself can take you seriously.

I even posted responses about the hands you played and it would of been nice to here some kind of responses or thoughts towards what I said but instead you just reply quoting "Labex", one quoting my name wrong somehow and secondly just saying thanks for the support.

Please prove me wrong but degens gonna degen.

Time for some degen blasting! Haven't updated for a few days. I've worked every day so sessions have been short. I've been playing 4-6 tables max to focus on my decisions and not auto-pilot. Let's take a look!

I'm with Labax. Either you've moved up way too fast or you're somehow winning $450 pots at 25NL. Something smells fishy about this.

More likely than not, you're going to feel the pressure of med-stake variance soon I assure you so I'd definitely +1 moving back down before you get pwned for your roll. Also as mentioned, if you've set a goal of sticking to a BRM, best sticking to it for future safeguarding your decisions.

..nice swing though.
