I can't believe Nov 1 is here already! October really flew by. I'll be posting October's low volume graph tomorrow morning. My wife and I haven taken on additional responsibilities at the gym we teach at and are now teaching impact classes(hence the low volume). We have been asking for bags for quite some time and the gym was gracious enough to give us our own room for the classes! They even painted the room for us and it looks amazing! We are now at the gym 6-7 days a week teaching and we love it!
On the flip side, I won't have the same opportunities to put in sessions. I'm probably down to 4-5 short sessions a week as opposed to the 8-12 sessions per week I was playing for months. Moving forward, finding time to play is going to be interesting. I'm okay with that though as I think my quality of play will actually be better and produce better results long term which is what we are all after anyway.
Graph and some fun hands incoming. Best of luck in November! Oh yeah, I'll be turning 36 in 5 days! I feel 26 haha!
I be turning 36 next year and feel 46! Freebie gym coaching to get in shape?

You build yourself daily, not in a day. Start now and have patience with yourself and realize that it's going to suck at first for a while. Make it a part of your lifestyle and not just a habit. Eventually you'll get to the point where if you don't work out you'll feel like a part of your day is missing.
If you don't know where to start, a (good) personal trainer can get you on the right track.
As promised, graph for October below. I'm not sure if 18BB/100 is sustainable, but, my table selection this month has been on point. This is of course 10NL in which I got told this month in the chat a couple weeks ago I am apparently one of the worst regs in the pool . I wish I would have saved it.
Spoiler:
Some gems spread out through the month. Enjoy!
V just didn't like to fold and would bet every time I checked it to him. I almost folded OTT. Ty, river .
"Why do we jam river? To get paid, to get f&^%ing paid." -- Doug Polk
Ty, Doug . V literally snap called all the way down, esp when I ran the timer down otr to about 5 seconds trying to think of what hands I would bluff with (none against this V, but, maybe 45s). I almost fell out of my chair!
#2, I don't normally show hands that don't go to SD, but, I wasn't really sure about this hand. Felt like a raise at the time, so I just went with it and V snap folded. His bet was just too big on this board texture which is why I thought a raise would work. Thoughts?
Welp, we got crushed this past week folks. Still we press on and continue to make +EV decisions regardless of the outcome of any given hand or session. In the face of adversity, one's character will shine through. Will you quit? Or will you go on?
"Why Mr. Anderson, why do you persist?"
..
"Because I choose to."
Let's get it. Ten days left in November, make the most of it.
When my grandfather, who had an 8th grade education, was about 17 or 18 years old, he was 1500 miles away in a land where people he didn't know were trying to kill him. He stepped on a shoe mine while dragging his friend to safety, got blown 40 feet in the air and when he landed, he continued to pull his friend to the cover of a nearby tree for safety. Using the sheers from his medpac as a tourniquet, my grandfather clipped his friends innards together which were hanging outside his body.
After making every attempt to save his combat mate's life, my grandfather looked down at where his boot was singed to his leg. Not realizing the whole time his leg had been almost completely blown off by the mine, when he attempted to take his boot off and almost taking his lower leg with it, he lost consciousness. When he woke up, he was on a chopper to England where he would have his leg amputated below the knee. My grandfather was awarded the Purple Heart for losing his limb. He eventually learned how to use a prosthetic and spent the rest of his days working in the coal mines and as a lumberjack and provided for his five kids and his wife with the basic necessities.
Growing up I never heard him complain about anything as he was a man of very few words. Had my dad not told me, I would never have know what happened to him or how he lost his leg, but, I know that he was one tough SOB who knew how to work because he had to. If I live the rest of my life with half the resolve, discipline and work ethic he had, I hopefully will have, in the words of Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan, "earned it". Ironically, that was one movie my grandfather could never bring himself to watch, but, it is one of my favorites.
I am forever thankful for men like my grandfather. He came from a generation where people who, imho, were just a different breed that you don't often see anymore. I am glad I grew up in a family where I could look around and see examples of men who I wanted to aspire to become. Not everyone is that fortunate.
Thank you to anybody who takes the time to read this thread and continues to follow it. Hopefully it impacts you in a positive way.
I've just started following this thread. Good luck!
It's an honor to have such an esteemed visitor, and thank you!
I think almost every government agency is shutting down today for Bush's funeral services; at least they are here in PA. I honestly don't recall much of the man, but it seems most spoke highly of him and that he was very humble. I pray he rests peacefully.
Since I get out at 12, I will likely be putting in a sesh if the games are good. If not, acts of service for my wife as my ongoing birthday present to her; I'm cleaning the entire apartment and it's taking me a while, haha.
~4600 hands so far this month, -$150 mainly from the past 2 days getting kicked in the face a little bit. Gonna go teach an Impact class so not sure if/when we will be putting in volume again today. Hopefully I can since I've been playing well with the exception of like 3 hands this month that I can think of off the top of my head.
784 hands, -$23.40 tonight. We couldn't get KK to hold against QQ AIPF, SB v BTN the last hand of the sesh. Played well though with a couple interesting hands, will post later for feedback.
Super standard 96.33 BB/100 WR this am, 442 hands, +$104.73. Games were good so I stayed home instead of working an hour or two of OT at work and glad I did.
My wife and I went and saw Creed II today with another couple and I thought it was a fantastic movie. I love the whole Rocky/Creed Series except for Rocky Balboa which I haven't seen yet. It'll be hard to top this one though, tbh. Had me in tears in a couple spots.
Poker has been roughly BE the past couple days. Not a ton of volume to date, but, I am certainly looking forward to the back half and to finish up 2018 strong. I want to put in as much volume whenever possible since I'm really close to that next RB bonus. Best of luck!
Had an opportunity to grind a bit today. 7 tables for about 2 hours solid after teaching this AM then taking my wife's class. Played well from what I can recall, ~1400 hands, ~ -$35. Felt like I was folding everything.
