Goal: Hoping to play 100nl regularly before the year ends
Just a brief background. I've been playing poker for 8 months just for fun , up until recently I decided to take it more seriously since I found out that I'm losing more than I thought. I'm posting here to ask help from knowledgable members here in 2+2.
Also have read tons of articles here in this forum and read most of the famous poker books (Helmuth, Negreanu, Sklansky, Elky, Brunson, Harrington)
I will update this journal regularly everyday as I will start trying to play at least 2000 hands a day. Here is my overall cash graph chart result(combination of 2,5,10nl):
Yes I know I'm pretty bad but I'm starting to learn the game properly and winning however today's session ended out with a bad setup hand.
I don't think raising flop is a good idea, you played flop fine because Villian can easily still have QK or AK, which they'd fold to c/r on flop.
When he raises turn I think there are some flush draws, although they'd most likely call. So imo you're up against AA, KK, QQ or JJ. Villian will occasionally show up with 66 or 33 as well.
So out of all those possible holdings, I think calling on turn is fine but I'm interested to hear what others think.
Villain 3bets a pot sized bet on the turn so you need 33% equity.
Lets assume a few scenarios (MP is very tight for a 6max player).
I think we can discount most flush draws from opponents range (there isn't a ton fold equity in his raise and there aren't many combo draws in his range) and assume he has a made hand of some kind.
Vs JJ,66,33,54s we have 37.5% equity
Vs AA,JJ,66,33,54s we have 59% equity
Vs AA,JJ,66,33 we have 58.6% equity
Vs AA,JJ,66 we have 51.14%
At 5NL poeple will overplay TPTK and overpairs quite often so although this a tough result, we pretty much always have an easy call.
Stopped playing poker for a while and now I'm back with a
BR:89.10$
Starting to grind 5nl and winning. Should I jump to 5nl despite my insufficient bankroll or do I play safe and go back to 2nl? Play seems the same although there are less fish at 5nl.
