cliffs or links on the ipoker MTT bots?

Haven't really played there for a while as the schedule is so withered now, but I have some sportsbetting money sloshing about so was going to fire up the tables again.

Excellent tweet!

January Goals
> Ev/BB 6+ - Success! - hit 0.6 exactly
> 450 games - Success! - hit 485, just made it
> Go to the gym 8x minimum - Failed - hit 7 gym sessions due to injury
> Play football 5x minimum - Failed - hit 4 due to injury
> No eating any takeaway - Failed - ordered Papa John's once when hungover
> Meditate every day - Failed - Missed 3 days throughout the month

Results:

Things I did IRL:
> Saw the Streets;
> Went to Wolves vs Crystal Palace;
> Went to Wolves vs Leicester (game of the season, 7 goal thriller with a last minute winner);
> Partners cousin and her partner visited for 5 days, did plenty of tourist stuff such as visit London, fish & chips, sunday roast etc.

Had a great month of results to claw back at Makeup which still stands at a somewhat significant figure, really happy with the work I'm putting in off the tables, running loads of sims, discussing plenty of hands etc. etc.

I have a question about generally being involved in a big stable. Do you think a stable trains your brain to think, study and learn for yourself or do you think it creates a reliance on being involved in the institution?

You’ve mentioned a couple of times that you’re the longest serving member of bitb - you’ve therefore had the greatest exposure to their resources, coaching, community etc - does this mean you feel you could cope without this now and study effectively but you STILL feel like the EV of being involved with this group is worth the % you give away (I don’t know your deal) or does it, to some extent, allow you to take more time off because the community together allows your to absorb more information (sighting your PIO group for example) without having to work as hard?
Essentially I’m asking if, as someone who has been staked for a good portion of their career, do you want to play for yourself at some point or are you content and see significant value being staked for the medium/long term future?

Also, nice month! Glad you hit your goals and hope the injury clears up so your IRL stuff is more achievable! I’ve torn my meniscus so can relate to injuries holding back exercise/fitness goals.

Not sure there was a link so to speak but it became pretty evident at the same time as the party poker MTT bot shutdown, the same was going on at iPoker - however nothing was being done about it.

This is a good number of years ago now however, could well have been cleared up since but avoided the site given they had multiple notices about the situation but didn't even comment on it, let alone take action.

V good question

I think it's going to be dependant on the stable in regards to the first question. At BitB we have loads of mindset sessions, loads of content on most effective ways to study, an encouragement to discuss/study hands amongst ourselves which helps expand on your mind. I doubt every stable has such practices in place and simply teach content on spots/theory sessions, which may lead to a reliance on being involved.

The second q I feel I could cope without and study effectively, however as you've mentioned the EV of being in the group is worth %age i give away (allowing zero risk poker to my own financial situation is a big benefit also), and the latter is also true about the community pulling in the same direction. It doesn't necessarily mean it allows me to take more time off, but rather the quality of hours I spend on hands is improved significantly.

At some point I aim to play off my own back, however I don't feel my knowledge or the processes are in place for me to feel comfortable doing so, and neither is my financial position. I would need both of these parts of my circumstances to be in the right place before deciding to take the leap.

Sounds painful! My injury was very minor, it was simply bruising around one of my toes but it was enough to stop me from being able to exercise on my feet - all healed now so should be good to go!

Quite the eventful Sunday.

Had a football match Sunday morning against bottom of the table - a team I previously scored against. However they've recently made many improved signings, we didn't help matters going down 1-0 early, Our backup goalkeeper getting an injury meaning our top scorer had to go in goal. Within 20 minutes we picked up a red card also, meaning 70 minutes to play with 10 men, 1-0 down.

Thankfully we found a way to claw ourselves out of it and win 4-2, I got roughly 35 minutes game time which was tiring given how we had to work harder with less players. We seem set for mid table mediocrity, a cup game this weekend against a team in a similar situation to ourselves - however we have a bunch of players unavailable, should hopefully be getting some solid game time myself.

Obv took to the tables on Sunday starting at roughly 2pm, after a looong grind finished at 7am with this to shout about:

This in the $530 PKO, obv bounties losses hurt given the staggering amount of $$ difference in 1st and 2nd but the $60k Makeup I started the year with has now been cleared, on some real momentum right now and I'm very happy with my study habits, need to keep doing what I'm doing to really improve where my game is at.

Very interesting answer and it’s great that you both see and get value from being in such a community.

This segways into said value being achieved, congrats on your Sunday score. Good to see one of the good guys doing well.

I’m firing a lot til March 4th so I’m sure we will end up at each other’s table at some point. Until then, good luck!

@Walmart I enjoy giving love out in the chatbox like the slut I am, think it's easy to forget everyone has a human side to them when you are playing poker online tbh

Not too much to report so far guys other than the bink previously mentioned - however something I've recently done (stolen idea from one of the guys in the BitB Academy) is set up a server in Discord for all of my study notes. Very easy to organise, keeps everything very neat and should encourage me to look for the key takeaways from session which can be difficult to do when you don't have to given during a two hour coaching session you can write pages and pages, cliffnotes are always super important imo

February Results:

An incredible month getting me out of Makeup for the first time in roughly 6 months, unfortunately the tail end of the month has been brutal, so many ft bubbles to write home about, losing huge equity flips and such but the good is obviously considerably better than the bad for Feb.

February Goals in Review:
> Meditate every day - Failed - missed 2 days out throughout the month
> Catch up with the Mindset Challenge and post thoughts regularly - Failed - really struggled with this as I failed to manage my time as efficiently as I would have liked
> Play 550 games minimum - Failed - Hit 529, only 21 games away which I would have hit if I grinded today (took it off as a study day) so not too disappointed with this
> Ev/BB of 7+ - Failed - Hit only an ev/BB of 2, disappointing although do feel like I simply got mowed over in big cooler spots
> Do a gym session 10 times+ - Failed - Hit 7
> Play football 5 times+ - Failed - Hit 4 due to 2 sessions being cancelled
> No eating takeaway - Failed - Ate McDonald's once

Obviously an absolute sea of red in regards to my goals, perhaps I have been aiming a little too high but not all areas were failures - I've definitely improved my study organisation with a Discord server to hold notes which I'm very happy about, a better month than the goals suggest.

Things I did IRL
> Wolves vs Shrewsbury (FA Cup fixture) (2-0 win)
> Wolves vs Newcastle (a late equaliser to find a point in a 1-1 draw)
> Seeing Jungle live at the Alexandra Palace in London
> Starting a game for the first time for my Sunday league team

Jungle was potentially the best gig I've been to (having been to many gigs, reckon I've probably been to roughly close to 100) - Alexandra Palace as a venue is amazing and Jungle are a band I could listen to in any mood - love the entirety of both their albums, travelling to London for it felt very special

> 250 games;
> ev/BB of 6+;
> No takeaway whilst in the UK;
> Play football 4x;
> Go to the gym 6x;
> Meditate every day;

Things Planned IRL:
> GO TO BRAZIL

With the BitB bootcamp being booked this year for Brazil, this will be the first time I will be going on one of these meetups despite being the first member of BitB! Cannot wait to finally meet everyone and visit a country/continent I've never been to, Despite the Millions being there I expect the amount of Poker I will play will be minimal - plenty of studying and plenty of site seeing, out there for 9 days so should be able to visit all he hotspots in Rio

MARCH IN REVIEW

March Goals:
> 250 games - SUCCESS!
> ev/BB of 6+ - FAILED
> No takeaway whilst in the UK - SUCCESS!
> Play football 4x - FAILED!
> Go to the gym 6x - FAILED!
> Meditate every day - FAILED!

I guess when looking at success rate eating well and putting in good volume when available to do so is the only real areas I'm able to shout home about, however have an amazing trip to discuss...

BRAZIL TRIP REPORT
Can't under state how much of an amazing time I had out in Rio - however one takeaway is that I wouldn't want to go back there any time soon/ Felt like a very dangerous place with so many scare stories regarding violence and thefts, I think I did it in the best way possible being part of a big group (there were roughly 35 of us) who were all looking out for one another, travelling in groups to stay safe.

Previously mentioned that the poker playing would be minimal - obviously I should have realised this was going to be a total lie satellites for the £10k were overlaying huge and running multiple times a day, however this information isn't available online so did multiple sprints for late reg to see how they were doing for numbers.

Did find a way to satellite into the main, where I finished roughly 80th, I think 57 were paid. Had a spot for heaps which worked out pretty rough, we return from break and the player sat next to me is sure that some had stole roughly 5bb from his stack (he had about 50bb). He was refusing to play hands, shouting at the TD, swearing, kicking off, tilting his tits off. Mid commotion I look down at Kings and open, this guy 3bets huge, I jam just about covering him and he has AA - obv prob plays out this way if he's not shouting and swearing, just feels even dirtier with this going on (funnily enough he no longer argued about the 5bb he lost after this hand )

I did however find a final table in a side event, the $550 win the button. Played the final two tables with Julio Baptista which was super interesting as he discussed how much pressure was on him debuting for Brazil at the age of 18, and how he really struggled with the expectation that was forced upon him. I then hit the final table with the man himself Phil Hellmuth - I got someone to take a picture of the FT with us stood up, however the woman decided to take a panorama of the 4 people sat down cutting the rest of us out of it I ended up with a 5th place finish for $4.5k, nice to add a Brazilian flag to the Hendon Mob account, my first live cash since Vegas 2017.

Obviously had an absolute tonne of fun with the BitB lads, the first time I've met pretty much all of them (with the exception of a couple) despite having been with BitB for near enough 6/7 years now. It helps so much putting a face to these screen names and made me realise that I love this community and must ensure I help them out as much as I can - I hadn't really considered before how it can feel intimidating reaching out to guys in BitB, asking fo ropinion on hands or whatever who have been around for longer than you, I feel like one of my biggest strengths is how I'm a super approachable guy, I just need to make sure this translates to online as sometimes I'm a bit laxxed with getting back to messages or whatever when I have no real excuse to be this way.

An amazing experience out in Rio, managed to do plenty of fun stuff despite playing 6/10 days (including an online Sunday session) such as wakeboarding at the Lagoon, going to Sugarloaf Mountain, eating Steak pretty much every single day and visiting Escadarion Seleran (the colourful tiled steps).

A big couple of months coming up, Been super ill since I've returned fro Rio for the past 7 days but I think I'm finally improving, look forward to getting back into a routine of meditating, studying, working out and grinding, do have some fun stuff coming up this month, mostly revolving around the football team I support Wolves (managed to secure tickets for the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley, unfortunately it falls on Sunday but felt this was too great of an opportunity to miss).
