WCOOP Day 12
A lovely bunch of tournaments on offer yesterday for Day 12 of WCOOP, with a number of $530's spread across Party and Stars.

Was putting absolutely nothing together however, struggled to get above starting in pretty much any MTT which was over a $55 buyin - with the exception of the $109 Powerfest - eventually finding a 3rd place finish for a little over $5k.

The secret to the run good is this little fella, it's actually a "money plant" that our friends gave to us on Saturday before all the scores rolled in - he's a little smug at times but on the whole a friendly bloke:

WCOOP Day 13

I had originally planned to play all the way through Sunday, however a friend had persuaded me otherwise due to already having a stack in two of the phases, anymore Day 2's added to that and it means I will end up missing out on some great value tournaments due to screen space - so unless I made a Day 2 for Saturday I would be taking it off.

Had 2 attempts at making this happen, both the $109 and the $1k 8 max (the Deepstack dreams ended early when a player called a jam for 60bb pre with the ol' 89s, getting there). Managed to mincash the $109, and finished roughly 30 away from the money unfortunately in the $1k.

The one tournament I was building a stack in was the $530 200k Powerfest PKO. I believe in level 1 I had a full double (xr A3 on 248 vs top set and found the magical 5 turn), then eliminated a player in level 2 so had roughly 3x starting stack. Managed to run deep, and actually had a feeling I'm not sure I've encountered before - with 12 left, despite being sat in 7th I was super excited for time to pass by just to find out where I finished in this tournament - certainly not shy of confidence, funny how a couple of scores can change the mindset.

This is the longest consecutive run of winning days I've had that I can remember (probably since February) - run extremely good for runs like this to happen when WCOOP/SCOOP have been on bricking the entire time outside of these events.

Day off today as mentioned, with a huge day on Sunday which I'm very much excited for.

Thanks for the luck guys <3 unfortunately it had little impact...

WCOOP Day 15
Was hoping to have yet another profitable day, on one of the biggest Sundays of the year.

Avoided the $5k main event, super annoying however that they didn't put on a Main M event - seems a huge opportunity missed, absolutely no idea why they would make this move.

Got going in everything under a $109 buyin with a series of mincashes, but anything above I really struggled in. Saw many villains over it absolutely punting it off, however I was not beating the punts. Exited early in the $215 phases for roughly $700, and my day ended finishing in the money of the $55 Main in about 6000th place.

One week left with Powerfest still running and great tournaments daily, likely to take it a touch easier now WCOOP is over (aiming to take Tuesday and Saturday off most likely to avoid the chances of burnout). Still lots of huge opportunities on offer and lots of regs who are falling day by day.

WCOOP Day 15

And here we came to the final $1k event of the WCOOP series that I was looking to play. Unfortunately it ended in disappointment, my stack hadn't really moved, had 50bb, lost A6 vs A5 pre, had to make a call off with QJ to lose to KJ, was left with 10bb and busted from there, all super standard stuff, couldn't have played differently to enhance our opportunities.

Mincashed lots of stuff on Party whilst bricking out on Stars, deepest run was in the $109 Powerfest PKO, finishing in 15th position which is a shame, had roughly $10k up top.

Day off today before resuming the final days of Powerfest, more than likely will be grinding Weds-Fri, take Sat off then grinding again on Sunday to round the series out.

Powerfest Day 17

Seemed to have a really nice session today, felt like I was running up sweats in just about everything I regged. Run of the day went to the $215 bounty builder on Stars, a 4th place finished resulting in a $4.4k payday.

Also managed to mincash a bunch of stuff in the higher ends of my buyin range along with picking up a decent amount in bounties in both the 215 Battle Royale and the 530 Powerfest event.

Still feeling really fresh, guess the winning helps with having my mind in the right place but I don't feel lethargic in the slightest - I'm sure improving my recent workout habits have helped also. Playing Thurs/Fri, day off Saturday then the final day of the series on Sunday, will be coming out of the series in healthy profit even as far as makeup is concerned (headed in with roughly 40k MU), looking forward to seeing what the final days have in store.

Powerfest Day 18 & 19

On Day 18 (Thursday) unfortunately didn't have time to meditate as was running loads of errands, seemingly got punished as I found zero results, lost about $3k on the day bricking pretty much every tournament on the schedule.

This morning decided to book a holiday for Monday - Friday in Lanzarote. It's expected to be 29 degrees everyday for our stay, we were both gutted we didn't manage to go on a summer holiday due to me being wary of makeup - now I'm out and in good profit we've realised this is probably the final week where we can go on a summer holiday and catch good weather, Mon-Fri is perfect given it's a late afternoon flight, straight after the series ending, look forward to unwinding here:

Had a day of grinding today, in one of the bowls (a $55 $10k) got HU with a fellow BITB member who had chunks compared to my stack. Just after the break I managed to spill a pint of water over my keyboard/monitors/PC (fortunately no damage done) but thankfully due to the ensuing chaos he agreed to a deal, cashing for roughly $1.8k I believe.

Also found a very tidy $10k score in the $215 Bounty Builder:

Nice bit of spending money (and some) for the holiday. Day off tomorrow to chill with friends, do my packing in advance and do some last minute holiday shopping before the final day on Sunday.

glgl re8 hope you've had a decent series

Hand2Note is the one <3 so much fresher and smoother, works quicker looks neater etc. Only downfall is it seems to miscalculate ev/bb so have to import hands into pt4 to analyse my own stats, other than that it's head and shoulders above PT

WCOOP & Powerfest - Summary

As shown a very much fruitful series over the past 3 weeks or so.

What went well:
I'm particularly pleased with how fresh I felt as the series progressed - whether this would have been the same if I was knocking it in everyday I'm not so sure, but I have a feeling working out regularly and having something outside of poker to focus my mind on at times to escape (football) is super beneficial and something I must continue to proceed with, even if I'm not getting regular games.
Obviously results are something that went well but I felt much more confident in my abilities than I think I ever have done so during a series - and this includes before my big score. In the past I've doubted how much of an edge I have in these $1k+ events and whether I should really be registering them but that just didn't feel the case this time round.
I was also impressed with my short term preperation - as mentioned previously for the majority of the year I've been less than impressed with my own personal work ethic and hadn't feel too moved to do something about it - but the quality and volume of study I put in during August is the biggest improvement in my own game in the space of a single month that I can remember having.

What I could've improved
To be honest for the month of the series I'm certainly struggling to find areas that I executed poorly. I've played enough of these 3 week events to know what sort of table count works for me, when I typically become a little burnt out and recognising that quickly, knowing not to play more hours than I need to etc. Very pleased with my execution on the whole

Lessons for the next series
Previously I've seen this series as a chance to win a mini lottery so to speak and downplay how great these series are, just because I'm worried about being ran over by them. I've tended to be aware all the regs play making fields seem tougher on paper.

However that's not the case, all these regs playing these events, playing for longer than they are used to is amazing news and what really makes these fields so good. Even on Day One I saw regs making colossal mistakes they wouldn't be doing in say the Big $22 as if the pressure gets to them, so many regs over it by the end of the first week looking to make extravagant punts on the daily. I have to really put in the effort now to make sure I'm in the best spot possible for the next series - if I make money along the way then great but the focus is being the best player I can possibly be before February comes round and have a bigger edge than I currently do over these withered regs who seem to lose their heads at key moments.

Been absolutely ages since I last posted, ought to start by reviewing October:

Earnt the coveted fishbowl symbol on sharkscope, Think my approach has truly been the best it's been in a while, just had one of those months where I got ran over - also pretty disappointed with my volume, hoping to increase it this month with it inevitably dropping in December, spotted some live events I would like to play along with festivities with friends and family.

A reason I'm looking to post more is recently BitB started a "mindset challenge" where a bunch of us look to read 5 pages a day of the mental game of poker by Jared Tendler, a book I've actually never read despite it being hailed as the holy grail when it comes to the mindset of being a full time poker player.

Picked up a number of things and noticed areas that need improvement within myself despite being fairly well versed when it comes to maintaining a positive attitude. I want to start positing a little more about how I felt my mindset was during sessions rather than making posts about monetary results (or lack of them).

2018 in Review

Yearly results:

As you can see we got off to a super hot start/majority of the year, however the past 3/4 months have been one of the biggest struggles I've experienced throughout my career. $55k downswing, with roughly 4 winning days in the space of those months, of which were minimal wins (won couple of seats to the party $5k that I bricked multiple times).

$80k profit over a year is obviously pretty reasonable at a $112 ABI but given the situation I was in at the end of the summer it certainly hurts a little.

Interestingly throughout the summer I felt pretty down about my game, it wasn't where I wanted it to be and really felt like I was stagnating but seemed a little overwhelmed by it and avoided putting more time in while in the lab, which is obviously a big ol' downwards spiral. I was getting my best results whilst working the least which meant I felt like somewhat of a fraud, undeserving of these results. Since October/November I've really focused on spinning my habits around, and ironically my results have crashed big time as I've spent more time on my game in the lab. Not convinced it has correlation tbh, I think it's just variance, but it may play a small part in that I was trying to change my strategy in certain situations which obv takes a little time to adjust to.

I'm much happier with my habits as of now but I've still got lots of catching up to do to get to where I should be, let alone where I want to be. MTT Regs still may not be amazing but feel many of them have realised the game is getting tough and they need to be putting time in when in the lab so while I've stagnated, in many cases population have caught up and perhaps overtaken me a little.

My volume this year has been OK, but realistically it needs to improve. Averaging just 422 games/month is minimal and believe hitting 450+, perhaps even 500 is the way to go - small stumbling block in that currently I never exceed 9 tables to ensure I'm able to work on parts of my game but I think perhaps regging more stuff late on in sessions, pushing the table count a little higher when I haven't got some big equity runs could be a change to my approach for the coming year.

For this coming year I can't just be another guy floating along in BitB. I've perhaps gotten a little too comfortable realising that I'm more than likely part of the furniture there having been the first guy through the doors back when the staking company was launched, and now I'm seeing guys who I used to coach/mentor play at higher levels than myself through hard work and discipline. They deserve to be where they are right now, as do I.

2019 Goals - Poker
> Average 450 games per month;
> Ev/BB of 6+ for the entirety of the year;
> Ensure I comment on any strat post in academies 1 & 2 if no other main stable guy has offered input;
> If I open a strat post with no other input on comment on it regardless of how uncomfortable I am with the hand (I often pick and choose the easier ones, this isn't going to help my personal development);
> Look through every single hand I mark throughout the year, understand why I wasn't 100% sure about my decision, no excuses;
> Win some sort of BitB player award

2019 Goals - Life
> Meditate every day unless I'm away on holiday (understand I will have no opportunity to meditate when at Glastonbury);
> Play 50 games+ of football (health permitting);
> Go to the gym 60 times minimum (health permitting);
> Track my sleep every single night, give myself no more than 8 hours (continue to set alarms);
> 1 day a month minimum I spend with my partner where I spend quality time with her (no sneaking off to review hands/run PIO, no cheeky games of Football manager etc. a full day away from the computer).

And thus we begin 2019...

January Goals
> Ev/BB 6+;
> 450 games+ (would be higher but have a busy month where stuff lined up will stop me from reaching a higher figure);
> Go to the gym 8x minimum;
> Play football 5x minimum;
> No eating any takeaway.

Planned events for the month:
> Seeing the Streets in January;
> Going to Wolves vs Crystal Palace;
> Partners cousin and her partner visiting for 5 days, will be showing them various parts of the country.

Hopefully by adding this planned events section I am able to recognise whether I need to plan for more real life stuff, as well as being able to give me an overview of the year when it comes to 2020 - I always end up realising I did way more fun stuff than I thought during a year.

Gotta say it's been a whirlwind of a few days both on and off the felt, Thursday I managed to find this gem:

Took to twitter for the bragpost and the social media team at Pokerstars set me up for this beauty:

My Twitter has been going wild since given BParis shared it, aswell as Doug Polk quoting the tweet saying wp

Last night I won the $55 10k on Party for $2k, which means I have a shot at finding the triple crown. HOWEVER I don't play 888 anymore due to this whole bonus fund problem they have going on and I uninstalled iPoker after they showed they couldn't be bothered to act on in the bots that were coming into the MTT world, so I'm struggling to find a site for the third win (Winamax and .FR a no go for us UK bros).

Downloaded GGPoker hopefully can get an account setup quickly enough to take some shots, although it's pretty much one qualifying tournament a day given it needs to be 10k gtd, 100 runners minimum.
