Good run in the main after 3 bullets. As you can see from the chip graph, basically once the bubble burst I was card dead until MP 2x opens, I shove KK w/ 9BB, he calls with A7s and we get rivered. Another tourney that we definitely had a shot at making a super deep run in but didn't.

ITM in the PLO8 and it's still going strong!

Big update in terms of my position in poker at the moment.

So I held off on mentioning this here until I knew I'd be accepted but I thought **** it this is a place for me to share my poker journey regardless of the outcome. So back in June, I applied to Poker Detox, a company that's offers CFP. Now I know I had previously applied to BRS which offer the same CFP structure to their coaching, I was accepted but then decided to reject this offer at the last second. At one of the lowest points in my downswing back in March, I finished yet another session with terrible results and on very bad tilt. After one particularly brutal session, I recognised that I was stuck in a self destructive feedback loop and that I would not go to sleep until I found the solution which is when I stumbled across Nick Howard's YouTube channel, specifically his video about forcing aggression.

Since that point, I immersed myself with his content and applied for the Detox CFP in June. I was rejected in the first stage of the applications but Nick told me I direct bubbled the application stage and just missed out on the top 10 spot. I had higher confidence in myself after this and this is why my results in July/August have been so much better. I applied again a few weeks ago and made it to phase 2 where I am currently in a team with 12 other guys.

For the last 2 weeks I have been studying a lot of the foundational content we have received and implementing it slowly by playing small sessions. From tomorrow, I will be starting my 10k hand sample that will be reviewed by the Detox team and is what will be primarily used to determine out of the 13 players, who gets a full contract, so wish me luck!

Also, made FT of a $22 6max hyper and came 4th for ~$485 2 days ago. And shoutout to my friend who binked the $55 bounty builder for $9k as well just to show me up :P

Huge update for me: After a long 2 month selection process, I passed my training phase with Poker Detox and have been offered a contract! Will update in the next few days when the dust has settled and I have more details on the specifics.

Going to be moving up to 50NL very soon and for the first time, the road to 500NL genuinely feels feasible

Busto 24th place, sick ****ing spot too... good reg BTN opens, BB has 4BB stack, I shove KQo for 22BB, KQ<AQ...

Very happy though, my biggest cash in a non HU tourney lmao. And this is the biggest tourney I've direct reg'd online. Thought I'd celebrate by playing a few bigger tourneys before I start contract.

First ever 50NL shot take! Very pleased with the session, it was quite a thrill.

50NL is much tougher preflop though, a decent number of the regs have very high 3bet stats which is going to take some adjusting to but other than that it felt fairly similar. I definitely got rekd in one hand where I ran an obvious bluff in a spot where a capped 25NL reg would just nitfold, I got the very light hero call though so I might be more wary about attacking their capped ranges (lolsamplesize).

HH converter's not working, so I'll just type out any interesting hand histories for now.

I open QQ UTG, MP calls, BTN squeezes, we 4bet to $15 and BTN calls. Runout is QQ9ddx, 4x, Td, and we triple barrel into AKdd for a 450BB pot. Nice way to end a first session on a shot take

First 10k hands at 50NL! Really struggled in my first session (ran like god though) as I found it slightly overwhelming playing vs actual regs and not just 25NL nitregs who were active preflop, but as I'm starting to settle in I think I either played with a disproportionately high number of regs in the pool or I was running very bad pre vs them. It's really not that hard to be honest, plenty of fish and I could count the regs that I actually rate on one hand.

Going to increase volume for the rest of the month so I'll report then with my monthly results.

Lol, how times change.

This is a quick update for a dead thread: I'm now playing anywhere between 500NL-2kNL.
I also have an active RIO blog that I am posting regularly on: https://www.runitonce.com/chatter/so...ghts-on-poker/

I'm grateful to be playing higher than my end goal in poker and look forward to whatever comes next.
