Hi 2+2er's

About me
25 year old currently working in IT.
Playing poker for over 2 years but started to take it more seriously at the start of this year.
Regularly play 10z-25z with mixed results.

Goals:
- Starting at 10z, Get to 50z by early 2018 without depositing anymore
- Play at least 60k hands per month(this can be difficult due to work)
- Study: Regularly review hands + watch RunItOnce videos and take notes
- Start meditating(Woosah)

Will try to post graphs after every session and maybe some notable hands!

1st Session of the challenge. With the way I've been running - the first few hands were as expected but it started to pick up then. No hands of note.

Small update - Second session went pretty well. ALOT of droolers in the 10z pool right now..or maybe that's just standard

What can I say...this session was just cooler central. Hard to keep focus when you're getting coolered and rivered every 2nd hand but "that's poker, folks".

Decided to quit after losing the last buyin and take some time to review hands.

Small update.. been pretty sick so couldn't play much volume.

I'm 13bis under ev since last Sunday - which is difficult to take

Just played for an hour and got wrecked by variance once again.

AA < QQ on 778Qx when money was in before turn, etc...Gotta love that EV representation

Anyway, feel like I'm playing well enough to beat 10z for 6+bb/100 but variance has killed me for 30k hands.

Going to slow things up and study more/play less. I know this doesn't get rid of the variance but it's incredibly difficult.

Hope to come back to this thread and push things forward.

Update :

30nl snap on 888 for about 20k hands. Incredibly soft, but the software is slightly tilting - The lack of hotkeys, bet sizing shortcuts, limited volume, etc.
Playing zoom variant without a HUD is pretty difficult; in terms of getting a feel for the regs...not really applicable versus fun players.

Played 10z at small volume for a couple of evenings. Focusing more on theory.
Also bought the Mental Game of Poker. Should be interesting!

Update
Getting there.
Play has improved but definitely running hot.
Would like to keep WR above 10bb over a decent sample but may move up stakes sooner rather than later.

Also need to start mashing against weaker/fun players and just milk the value. Been 30% range in 3bet pots vs these players and missing alot of value.

Finding it hard to find recently made high quality videos on RunItOnce for essential. If anyone has any recommendations, hit me up!

Missing some decent rakeback :'(

    Update

Moved to 16nl and the swings aren't pretty.

In terms of pool tendencies, it's probably the weirdest zoom pool I've played in.
The regs are weird(yes, weird), apart from a handful. And the limpers are plentiful

Most regs just seem to 3bet and mash all boards, regardless of texture. Pretty funny/tilting...maybe they're just exploiting but w/e.

Back to 10nl to try out different things. Still maintaining 10bb over 20k hands.

Lacking motivation to put volume, would rather study than play....sounds weird to say.

      GL w/ the challenge!

Could you explain this hand? I can't see why you folded here, you're behind for almost nothing except 33, A9, AK or AQ (Ax's are less likely)
9x x/r you on this flop? I don't think so. It's more likely that the villain has a missed draw than a massive hand that you're behind. I would never fold this spot vs unknown.
When you call turn you should call river anyway since the run out doesn't change anything. This hand makes no sense, at least for me.

"9x x/r you on this flop? I don't think so." It's definitely possible. You'd be surprised how these players react to 33% sizing bets. Looking back, I should have called given river sizing. His sizing confused me at the time.

Only played 6k hands since 28 Nov.
Couldn't make time with rl stuff. Don't really enjoy playing after work when I'm not fully focused and slightly burnt out.

Slightly tilted by my declining red line, but at these stakes it's probably better that way.

Also, Stars better bring Cardmatch back...only way of getting rakeback https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/i...cons/icon6.gif

Hand 1 - Vs Weak reg playing 40/29. Maybe my turn sizing could be bigger given stack sizes.

Awful session. Couldn't get anything going.
Not sure how I feel about KK right now. "Please no ace. Ah, there's an ace" xD

Would really love just one session where I ran like God. For some motivation/confidence booster. Maybe if I ask the poker gods nicely?

Played a small sesh. Went pretty well.
Haven't been playing much with work, etc.. Just been watching content and trying to improve which I'm finding more enjoyable than playing atm xD

                  Results have been pretty meh.

Had to call the session after this hand. Not sure what to say tbh.
These kind of hands seem to remain in my subconscious for 30 mins or so..I usually just take a break but it's pretty late now anyways.

                    End of year update

Not quite where I wanted to be, but can't complain.

Feel like my game has come along considerably since I started this thread which is something I wanted to achieve.

IMO I can for sure beat 25nl. It's the first limit where people can make decent money so there's some good regs there. There's also regs that I think are winning as they play there alot, but they play around the same level as 10nl regs.

Also been watching a guy stream low stakes zoom on twitch and he's been winning over a big sample. It gives me considerable motivation to watch someone play (IMO) worse than I do and win at that stake. I'll not mention names.

Not trying to contemplate over results too much, just trying to improve.

                    Giraffe from 1st Nov:

Also came 4th in the Hot $5.50 which gave a considerable boost to the BR.
May play more MTTs, although they are very time consuming.

                    GG.

                    Here's to 2018!

                    Update

Wow, it's been too long. Forgot I had this thread :smh:

My volume has been lacking for sure. Something which I always struggle with when working + commuting. I tend to not play when I'm tired and lean towards study instead.

In terms of study: I've been watching a ton of videos and taking notes, reviewing my hand histories, etc.
Don't really talk hands with other people. If anyone playing 25z+ wants to talk hands PM me for skype.

Been playing 50z lately as my BR is comfortable here and I feel that I'm on par to be a 2-4bb winner here.

Something I'm trying to improve is my Big Blind play. I'm getting runover in these spots, although looking through my HHs there's been a ton of coolers.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my progress considering where I was last year.

                    Some stuff:
                    Slight run good :P

                    Banger for the grind!
