PREPARATION FOR FEBRUARY

December has been a pretty bad month but I managed to get it back to breakeven in the last week, with January it wasn't like that. I lost all the way. I still have a few days left, and I don't know how much RB I made but overall it was not good. This is my most important year, I have to make it.

I realized two things.

I didn't want it bad enough, it's just that. I had tons of excuses and spent too much time with my gf. I see now that I used to be this guy willing to do it all to make it but along the way when I found this girl I lost the desire, I started being lazy, I started to think oh I don't want millions anymore, just 10k/month so me and my girl can live well ... I setled, I thought about her more than I thought about poker. Making it in life was always my top priority but now few months back when we started dating I felt like she is my future wife, and I still think that so she bacame my priority .. But for now I have to come back to the roots again. Pretend like I don't give a **** about her and not give her the attention I know she needs. I prefered being or texting with her than playin poker, I prefered thinking about her than visualizing new lines. With February this needs to and will stop. I will go back to the killer mode, no distractions, no excuses. Either I want it or I don't.

I will detach myself from this person I am right now. A person who doesn't play enough cuz of back pair, headache, eyes burning, tiredness, "you need to build a mental muscle first" excuses.

I will stop reading non poker related books cuz they make me dream but that's about it. I do not need dreams right now. I need 100% focus, being present, thinking of the next move, what else can I do right now to reach my goal, what else can I do to better my WR ...

I will go to silence, no talking to roommates, only talking about necessary stuff on skype with my coach. One text message in the morning to gf and a few when I'm totally done fr the day if she's not asleep already. I will tell her I love her very much but being successful takes it's price and I won't be happy with myself if I don't make it consequently won't be able to give her as much love. People and relations are more important than money to me so in theory I'd chose her over making it in poker any time, BUT on the other hand if she's not willing to go through this with me she might not be the one.

It will be hard for me for sure not to give her as much attention cuz I know she'll be pissed and lonely and sad and she might leave me and I'm scared I won't find a better one I really feel she's the one but heck it's a test for her too and I will take this chance. This is who I really am, productive all the time, otherwise I don't feel good.

I will make HUGE plans now, plans I had no preparation for since I've been lazy lately BUT I believe everything is in our heads. Mental muscle doesn't need no warmup before putting in a lot of hours, burnout is an excuse, how can you burnout if u have a strong why? You can't. I need to remember that when excuses come my way.

I heared the one thing millionaires have in comon is integrity-doing what the've set out to do no matter what. I wanna become one so I need to follow this advice. I changed my mindset to settling for few €k/month but this is not what I wanted, I wanted 10mil from the beggining, 10mil gives me excitement. So it's a long road ahead, tought and bussy life. I don't know how I could thought it's going to be so easy. Playing a bit, chatting a bit with gf, yeah right. Focus learn push and grind. Without struggle there is no progress. If I'm not a 10k player yet it's because I'm not ready, I will take athe first step to get ready in February, and even right now, today I'm starting putting in effort. I prefer 10mil than being a good boyfriend.

FEBRUARY PLANS
  • Play 50h/week(one week 70h) in total of 220h
  • 25 days work, 4 days off(1.2.-14.2. work, 15.2.-18.2. rest, 19.2.-29.2. work)
*If stoploss day comes I will make up for it on the rest days.
  • Sleep 6-8h(if everythign is ok 1 day/week u can sleep in)
  • Post 10 winning/20 lossing hands every day
  • Go over one video vs tough villain w/ coach every week
  • Read self help books only before sleep-during the day only focus on poker
*When u don't have action try to remember BB defending ranges vs diff villains, go over std lines, post or review hands, go over important concepts, watch videos, work on mental game-visualize being focused, on what don't you put enough attention? What mistakes u made? etc.
  • Keep being silent, think before u speak and speak only if convo is be benificial to you
*Normal peps have thousants of thoughts during the day, the most successful ones have just a few cuz they only focus on one thing and repeate it all over again
  • Text gf in the morning and when you're in bed done with everything
  • Every day before sleep visualize the next day and make to/do list
  • Sit str8
  • Stretch from time to time when no action
  • EXTREME bumhunting, play only ******s
*avoid people who stack off tight unless u can EASLY grind them down with cbets, dcbets, probes, avoid people with 20%+ 3b unles they STACKOFF LIGHT meaning if u play a guy 20 hands and his 3b is 30% and he didn't do stupid **** in 3bp quit
  • Keep a journal here every day
  • 1 table if tired, but FFS don't stop playing
  • Gym 3 times/week

glad I didn't ship it in OTT cuz I suspected he might be fastplaying low flush, OTR I donked cuz I though maybe he was overplaying Ax OTT and he'd probably check back river and this way might get called .. but I see now it's best to just check raise cuz he can't overplay Ax on flush possible board so yeah and if he's bluffing I give him a chance to bluff so this donk wasn't ok.

this guy ST 30 LIMP 50, and limp fold 0% and FCB 30% and bet turn when I check 100%(3/3) high so this time I didn't wanna x/c turn so I had overs+gutter+some fold eq. and I think ok 2bar ... I also had this note:
A9o limp call, T82 4 call cb, float 2in7 turn!->raise small sizings, overplays
but it's not relevant to this hand I think only other adaptation was to raise limp tighter and try finding out what he opens with

HERO mucks: 7 of h, 7 of c; Full House, Nines full of Sevens

My thought process was: he might have gutter/OESD bluffs

How it should look like: he might have gutter/OESD bluffs; Which exactly?

KJ/JT/J8/T7/K8 ->quckly I'd realize he probably wouldn't turn Kx into a bluff, prob
also Jx cuz I cb lots of crap on that flop -> sooo FOLD, vs a check I have lots of% to win,
but vs a probe I should fold.

Sup guys,

so I wen't home for my gf's birthday for one day ... my plans changed a bit .. I won't be home for the whole February but my gf wil visit me 3 times, on Mondays. I also got some new rules who to play and now had a little more time to think about everything.

Since I changed so much in last 6 months I don't really know who I am anymore but I like to believe that I'm that guy who works hard every day and takes rest when he deserves it which wasn't the case lately so I need to work on that. Besides all that talking about 10mil and **** in previous posts, it's not about 10mil it's about setting up a higher goals, goals that make u feel like u need to put in lots of time and sweat so that you can't fall in a comfort zone of thinking ah I have time.

This brings me to the next thing-confidance. I notice why my confidance was low, not only cuz of losing but also because of focusing on the wrong stuff. I was comparing myself to others who made it in poker quicker, I live with guys who are waay better then me, and all this **** naturally lowers confidence but when I look at it from diff perspetive, I learn new things every day, I'm still pushing, if I compare myself to myself some time ago I'm a lot better at poker and smarter in life, the only thing I lack was this desire for productivity which is back.

When I look deep down I know why I haven't been putting in so much hours, cuz in my core I know I'm not a guy who sits in from of the computer, I thrive when working with people, and not long ago I lookked down on geeks who were good at computers and **** but ahve no social skills or skinny bodies whatsoever but howere I need to become one to crush it at poker. I must say I love plaing poker a lot instead of sitting in from of the computer is baD it make you unsocial and not good for health but that's how I was raise without computer so it's natural that gamer have an advantage but anyways I realize what's going on and I will start saying I love playing poker. I will start saying I'm obsessed sick maniac who would do anything to succeed. Frankly I need to forget about gf and guilt and be selfish. I need to replace fear thought with what to do right now to be better. And I will not look at pt4 how much I played or how much I made or EV nothing. All it matter is to only play people which I decided I'll play, to play whenever suck people are present no exceptions, to keep attention high and bring it back when I start to lose it like in meditation and that's it.

FEBRUARY PLANS CHANGES

• Sleep 6-8h(if everythign is ok 1 day/week u can sleep in)
• Post 10 winning/20 lossing hands every day
• Make a video every day
• Update google docs every day
• Go over one video vs tough villain w/ coach every week
• Read self help books only before sleep-during the day only focus on poker
*When u don't have action try to remember BB defending ranges vs diff villains, go over std lines, post or review hands, go over important concepts, watch videos, work on mental game-visualize being focused, on what don't you put enough attention? What mistakes u made? etc.
• Keep being silent, think before u speak and speak only if convo is be benificial to you
• Text gf in the morning and when you're in bed done with everything
• Every day before sleep visualize the next day and make to/do list
• Sit str8
• Stretch from time to time when no action
• EXTREME bumhunting, play only ******s
*quit people who raise unless u can EASLY grind them down with cbets, dcbets, probes, quit people who 3b unless they put half their stack in, quit people who raise first 5 hands unles they fold 50% pre
• Keep a journal every day
• 1 table if tired, but FFS don't stop playing-play always when there's action
• Gym 3 times/week
• Keep attention ultra high – monitor sizings, showdowns, make notes and how to adapt, keep std lines in mind

REPLACE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS WITH POSITIVE ONES-ATTENTION ON THE
MOMENT-WHAT CAN I DO NOW TO BE BETTER

GO THROUGH MISTAKES AND IMPORTANT SPOTS ALL THE TIME

I LOVE PLAYING POKER LONG HOURS
NO PT4 CHECKING FOR HOURS OR DOLLARS
I LOVE TO THINK ABOUT SPOTS DEEPLY

PLAY SPECIFFIC PEOPLE, ALWAYS PLAY WHEN THIS PEOPLE ARE THERE AND KEEP BRINGING THE ATTENTION BACK

I know I'm a winner, lately people looking down on me and me comparing to others made me doubt that but **** all that **** them I am a winner.

don't ever give up. you have the right attitude and it's just a matter of time you hit the breaking point for success. some things to consider:

"Main things I realized today were that I need to focus on quality of play and not quantity ... and secondly I need to take this game more seriously ...

I notice how I do the same mistakes all over again, or how I forget spots/concepts cuz I'm not constantly working on them ..."

This is huge. The best way to make progress is to be aware of what you're doing incorrectly and fix them immediately. Feedback is essential to growth and the more feedback you set up for yourself, the faster you will grow. You can only change the weaknesses you are aware of.

Also, slow it down. Movement errors are more pronounced and present when you do it first in a slow and controlled way. You can then make the necessary adjustments for any errors that crop up and continue down your intended path. Speed comes naturally with proficiency and even when you get good enough to do it quick, it's always good to slow it down once again and clean up subtler inefficiencies. Good luck, man! Rooting for you wholeheartedly.

Playing WITHOUT setting hourly goals DOESN'T WORK.

Cuz whenever I start getting frustrated I quit, and I get frustrated rather quickly in last few days
so probably subconsiously since I know I can quit if I get frustrated I might get in that state on purpose
just so that I don't have to play. But if I do set an hourly goal then I play villains I shouldn't have or play tired
just to put in hours which also isn't good ... so it's hard to find a balance. I think setting like 5h/day min goal
as standard is what I will do cuz I know for 5h/day I will be rested and have action so there's no excuse ... and then
I can go from there, maybe set it up to 6, 7 , 8 and so on.

Next thing I found out are my LAYERS OF ATTENTION when playing.

I think I should do this every month and continue to recognize layers and improeve on them.

Basically I don't think I have a C-game where I'd 3b **** and spew etc. cuz I quit before it happens,
but my B game pretty much sucks I'd say. I don't make notes or follow showdowns or monitor hud, I just
play by feeling, on autopilot etc. so if I manage to get this B game up it'll be huge progress.

Next, I see my A game being split into 3 layers.
1) I take notes, follow SD, and watch HUD
2) I do all of the above but also besides notes I think of adaptation I should make specifficaly and I don't pay attention only on like FCB 3b etc. but more spots like BXB, XXB
3) I do all of the above and I don't make snap decisions, I actively think through ever spot, I think of ranges on all streetc, I keep present noticing sensations and remembering important spots/mistakes

so basically the first layer could be my B game and my B game is my C game now I think so yeah ... I need to work on eliminating old B game first and also on keeping focus on sensations/mistakes to improve A game.

so action steps: always follow SD and make notes ->otherwise youre on Cgame
make a circle on your hand and every time u see it take a big breath, remember spots to be careful, remember to take notes, remember that all u can do is play ur best right now

TMRW PLAN

Alarm clock 4.50
5.00 COLD shower, breakfast, dress up(clothes prepared)
5.30 tables opened

quit if they: 3b(unless they put like half stack in or 15bb or smthing)
3x or MR first 7 hands
play if they: mostly limp
open 5x+ preflop
fold 50% pre

Sup guys!

unfortunately my plans changed a bit. Basically me and my coach went separte ways. We remain friends and all it was just that we didn't agree on all the terms of the deal, I stoped believeing in him he stoped believeing in me and so it is, I'm still greatful that he was in my life. I still intend on continuing to play poker. I will give myself 2 months challenge to realy give all I got and see where I can get on my own ofc I'll update here every day.

The only problem is that I was also staked so I had to pay back the money so now basically I have like 400€ for poker but I wanna have 800€ which is 40BI for NL20. I could start with less but I'm a nit and wanna have good BRM(50-100bi) and also wanna have money on multiple sites so til end of Feb I'll get a cashual job to get those 400€ so I can start in March(possibly sooner) my 2 months chellenge. In the mean time I will continue working on the game. Actually I'm happy cuz now I'll have time to go over all the videos, analyze villains, hands, think about some stuff more deeply and remember more spots etc. also I have now a biit more room to experiment w/ plays I think should work but had to stick to std lines before.

I also wanna make a quick review. Before starting HU I was 9man 3$ SNG player, 7% roi over 3k SNGs. Then I met my coach and we had some sessions and I started playing regs right off the bat, didn't go well so switched to fish and didn't go well also. Below are all my graphs since I started HU few months ago. Now on the first look it might seem bad but actually I feel confident, I will crush it when I restart on NL20, feel like I'm really close to finguring things that matter out and finally start making money.

I might write a bit more about my journey but this is it for now.

My 100k graphs:

right before lines cross I started playing fish and stoped playing regs. This is NL20+NL50

this is NL50 only from some other room

this is NL20 only, already included in first graph

Why am I not a 5k/month player yet?
  • not self-initiative enough
  • full of excuses and self pity
  • not persistent and resistent enough
  • focusing on little things instead of meaningful stuff
  • too much talk not enough action

Goals/Vision-Career based

1) Succeed in poker(5k€/month incl. rb)->Til the end of 2016
2) Build a succesful/profitable blog/website about myself
by selling, affiliating stuff that I love; 1k€/month
3) Start a successful business/real estate agent(1mil+)
4) Open a private school for 10-19yo kids for free
5) Enter politics, win w/ 80% majority, build a dream team,
give people a purpose, run the country to become one of the
most connected, independed, proud nations in the world

What will it take to get there?

Poker:

Play more hours-6h/day minimum
Study more hours
Be smarter/more creative ie. think about **** more/remember more/focus on things that make money not some theory BS/think and get on your own to specific conclusions not only listen and nod
Pay more attention when playing->notice sizings, patterens, showdowns, not only make notes but also adaptations, make smart guesses and cross reference info form one situation to another, be present, no results check
Spend time w/ gf only when u deserve it
Visualize more, not only end result but mainly obstacles to overcome(tought villains/spots/how to keep focus when tired/how to grind longer hours)
Work on everything that tilts you cuz that is your weak spot
Improve C-B-A game by constantly monitoring it and setting targets(my worst game: 1) I take notes, follow SD, and watch HUD)
Be more confident, focus only on things u can control->decisions, following daily plans/habits, doing the little things right

Smaller but significant short term goals

Meditation(even if u feel like u don't need it)
Eye contact(2sec eye contact w/ everyone)
Clean room
Dressed well
No distractions-no pt4 results checkups
Warmup
Cold shower->u have to deserve warm shower
Gym
Sit str8
Journal
Sleep 6-8h
Focus on the poker stuff listed above
Enough water/food
Listen to successful people
10 pages of Mastery->finish til the end of Feb
Save and don't withdraw BR
Re-read your goals/affirmation/miror exercise 3 times/day. Do this out loud, with passion and enthusiasm, one goal at a time.
Make a to-do list and spend a few minutes visualizing exactly how you want the day to go, all the obstacles etc. the day before.
Make a circle on your hand and every time u see it take a big breath while playing
No more checking other people blogs and commparing myself to them-losers focus on winners. winner focus on winning

Have a calendar and write "victory" for every day u feel u did everything on point, fight for that victory

Small things matter cuz they keep u in motion and what goes in motion stays in motion

If I'm not improving I'm getting worse, stagnating does not exist; every choice u make u either improve or stay behind.

My core values:
  • Integrity
  • Loyalty
  • Health
  • Pride
  • Honesty
  • Positivity
  • Mental strength
  • Ambitiousness/visionarism
  • Good parenting/teaching

Affirmations:
  • I love grinding long hours
  • I love thinking deeply about spots
  • I am a champion, I act like a champion, I respond to circumstances like a champion

REPLACE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS WITH POSITIVE ONES-ATTENTION ON THE
MOMENT-WHAT CAN I DO NOW TO BE BETTER

When I die I want my freinds/kids to say:

He always did what he said he'd do
He was always fair, str8 forward and loyal to his family/friends/business partners no matter the circumstances
He was living a healthy life and encouraged others to do so
He saw things through before anybody believed in him
He was willing to do crazy **** for people he cared about
He never gave up, he was always evolving, believing that everything happens to learn something from it
He saw only the best in people and knew how to bring that good that they have out on the surface
He never looked down on people
He wa a great father and teacher
He was very approachable, uplifting, discrete and always positive

Gym

2 times/week gym mandatory
-legs
-biceps/shoulders

Optional
-street park calistenics(dips, pullups)
-home stomach workout
-home insanity workout
-basketball

Conclusion

Just play a lot more. Think about **** a lot more off tables.
While playing monitor C-game and A-game, meaning attention high(HUD, sizing, SD, patterns, adaptations, notes, no pt4 checkups, bigger picture about villain to cross reference info, mark hands).
And keep striving for that small wins via following habits.

Winning isn’t just something that happens. It’s something you choose to do, every day.

DAY 0 of 60 DAYS CHALLENGE

Targets:

35-40k hands/month
200h/month(min 7h/day)
cold showers in the morning/afternoon
no tv/no sweets->always be working on something no time to waste
reread goals/affirmations when u wake up and go to bed and inbetween
meditate even if u don't need to
go over spots to remember mistakes
journal every day
handstand during breaks
sleep 6-8h

Starting BR: 400€(another 200e coming)=600€=30BI

Poker:

warmup(videos/HH review/go over spots to remember/inventing scenarios)

no pt4 checkups

know your Cgame(writing notees+adaptations, following basic HUD, noticing sizing tells)

Things to work on ingame:
  1. revise HUD when playing to spot leaks
  2. don't be lazy in limped pots or XXB IP/OOP lines in SRP
  3. think of blockers when making decisions
  4. when deciding to call in 3bp or deciding to cb in l/r pot think how board texture hits his range

*have in mind previous mistakes, do not get emotionaly involved and make insta decisions, know your c-game, warmup, no pt4 checkups*

if villain is not a huge fish but rather tighter I'll quit him, if villain seems tricky and hard to play I'll quit him,
I will have patience w/ calling stations and won't be lazy in limped pots and I will be ultra focused on high 3 bettors,
if by any means I feel I don't have an edge maybe cuz of losing confidence/attention I will quit/review/come back

This is the best you can do right now-to be present, it can't get any better than this

---

I had 1 week w/o playing, to raise the money and work on my game. I went over a lot of hands and draw some conclusions that will help
me to not make the same mistakes again, I analyzed villains who gave me trouble and found out that it was just that my attention wasn't
high enough when playing them, I watched one HU video every day, read some more in depth about variance and I rested a bit.

So today was a warmup day. I deposited money, finished final theory stuff like inventing scenarios, went over std lines, memorized some more etc.
I also played, wanted to do 5h but did only 3h45min cuz I hit stoploss 3.5BI, I was actually running 3BI under ev and was coolered flusg into flush
so I could have played some more ... but I went to the gym, did hard legs worout and I'm pretty tired now. Gonna hit the shower, meditate, prepare for tmrw and go to sleep.

---

Todays mistakes:

Stacks:
SB ($67.96BB) 68bb
BB Hero ($128.88BB) 129bb
Pre-Flop: (1.4BB, 2 players) Hero is BB J 10

SB raises to 2BB, Hero calls 1BB

Flop: 4 8 J ($4BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, SB checks
Turn: 10 ($4BB, 2)
Hero bets 2.64BB, SB calls 2.64BB
River: 9 ($9.28BB, 2)
Hero bets 6.16BB, SB calls 6.16BB
Final Pot: $21.6BB
SB shows Straight, Eight to Queen
10 Q
Hero shows Two pairs, Jacks and Tens
J 10
SB wins $20.52BB (net +$9.72BB)
Hero lost $10.8BB

Should have xf river. It was a snap decision cuz I finally hit something. But yeah once he floats river(if I checked) there's no bluffs he can have so easy fold, and if he xb rvr I'm always better.

Stacks:
SB ($100BB) 100bb
BB Hero ($100BB) 100bb
Pre-Flop: (1.5BB, 2 players) Hero is BB 10 10

SB raises to 2BB, Hero raises to 9BB, SB calls 7.5BB

Flop: 8 2 6 ($20BB, 2 players)
Hero bets 14BB, SB calls 14BB
Turn: 5 ($48BB, 2)
Hero checks, SB checks
River: 3 ($48BB, 2)
Hero bets 25BB, SB goes all-in 76BB, Hero folds
Final Pot: $149BB

Plan was to xr allin but actually it's better just to bet for 3 reasons:
1) if he raises u know you're behind
2) he can't get a free card
3) u can still xc river and let him bluff busted draw although it's a bit harder to call since he can have 2p, str8

Stacks:
BTN Hero ($134.5BB) 135bb
BB ($32.15BB) 32bb
Pre-Flop: (1.5BB, 2 players) Hero is BTN K Q

Hero raises to 2BB, BB raises to 6BB, Hero calls 4BB

Flop: 10 8 K ($13.5BB, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 9BB, BB goes all-in 26.15BB, Hero calls 17.15BB
Turn: Q ($65.8BB, 2), 1 all-in

River: 4 ($65.8BB, 2), 1 all-in
Final Pot: $61.1BB
BB shows
J K
Hero shows
K Q
Hero wins $61.1BB (net +$28.95BB)
BB lost $32.15BB

Hand I won but actually missplayed I think. He was short but I do not see a
bluff there. In my mind I was KJ is possible which I beat, T8, K8 less likely
so I'm worried about AA KK KT *** it I call .... but actually his 3b was 16% after 50 hands so I also forgot TT, maybe even 88, T8 K8 also possible so basically KJ was the only thing I beat! so in the future have to be more speciffic about ranges in on mono vs xr go extremely tight.

Stacks:
SB Hero ($106.24BB) 106bb
BB ($44.36BB) 44bb
Pre-Flop: (1.4BB, 2 players) Hero is SB J 7

Hero raises to 3BB, BB calls 2BB

Flop: 3 10 8 ($6BB, 2 players)
BB bets 2BB, Hero raises to 7BB, BB calls 5BB
Turn: A ($20BB, 2)
BB bets 6.64BB, Hero raises to 15.28BB, BB calls 8.64BB
River: 7 ($50.56BB, 2)
BB checks, Hero checks
Final Pot: $50.56BB
BB shows Pair of Aces
5 A
BB wins $48.04BB (net +$22.76BB)
Hero lost $25.28BB

wouldn't matter here but I need to pay more attention to stack sizes, here was a momoent of lost focus ... if I were to do it all over again I'd shove turn and even if eh wasn't short I'd need to raise bigger.

Stacks:
SB Hero ($135.9BB) 136bb
BB ($43.5BB) 44bb
Pre-Flop: (1.5BB, 2 players) Hero is SB 6 Q

Hero raises to 1.5BB, BB raises to 5BB, Hero calls 4BB

Flop: 2 A 5 ($12BB, 2 players)
BB bets 14BB, Hero goes all-in 129.9BB, BB goes all-in 23.5BB
Turn: 8 ($179.4BB, 2), 2 all-in

River: 10 ($179.4BB, 2), 2 all-in
Final Pot: $179.4BB
Hero shows
6 Q
BB shows
Q A
BB wins $86BB (net +$43.5BB)
Hero lost $133.9BB

****ed up. I had no FE, his 3b was 14%, it's was obvious that he has it,
but I didn't get odds to call or implied and it tilted me to just fold so I ****ed up. I must be more disciplined. If he had more behind, 3b 30% and cb high, and always cb pot, only theen it would be ok to shove.

And I made two BXB OOP hero calls that didn't go well->BXB is always a hand, if he's repping one combo, HE HAS THAT COMBO!->always fold to bxb
unles he does it 5 times!

Tmrw Plan:
  • sleep 8h
  • no time waste/shower/eat
  • warmup(go over mistakes/inventing scenarios)
  • play min 8h 30min breaks 1.5-2h sesions
  • meditate/handstand/read/affirmations while on break
  • no tv no sweets->no time to waste
  • attention on c-game, on HUD in depth, on notes/adaptations, don't be lazy in limped pots, notice board texture w/ range

DAY 1

Time Played: 8h
Hands Played: 2k
Profit: 60€

Slept 8h, legs hurt as hell, back too. Did my morning thing+some other necessary stuff which took some more time than I wanted to, finally started playing after 2h. 1.5h-2h play 30min rest. Did meditation, felt great ... was focused considering all aspects so it safe to say I booked a much needed VICTORY today. But there is space to improve. In the afternoon had to pick up gf and went to the hairdresser which was closed, a bit tilting but eh, now I need to do it tmrw ... Also had to talk to my bf for 30min cuz of some problems he has, he's going around the world by bike, to beat the world record and be the youngest one, u can check him out here: http://www.tomazhumarbike.com/

Things I noticed/learned:
  1. Play 2 tables max, when playing 3 I start making mistakes
  2. If u are playing zoom/blaze+one other table make sure there are only 2 people in the blaze tables if more quit, cuz I can't handle remembering info on more than 3 guys
  3. If you are bored you are doing something wrong->super focus on patterns/sizings/even in folded hands when one tabeling
  4. There was one moment when I started to feel the heat spreading through my body, dark clouds hooveing over my mind and autopilot mode set in, BUT not for long->usually I quit in this moment but I was determined to put in another 30min so I said u won't quit and self pitty like u always do, losing focus is a choice, therefore losing/failing is a choice, I do not plan on failing, I put myself together and got it all back->big moment
  5. Second moment, cuz of different reasons that previous one but same results, autopiloting ->I noticed it, said look how lazy u must be if u feel bored when playing this complex game, again I put it together, played my Agame
  6. Third moment, there was this villain who was tilting me, I was playing fine vs others but somehow I wanted to quit or kill this guy cuz I felt I have an edge but couldn't win, so I said cool down, look at the next hand like if it was the first one or like as if you'd be reviewing HH ... baam killed the guy
this three moments were essential, this is all that poker is I think, like meditation, bringing the attention back, to this very moment ... it's all you can do, the best you can do, and the only thing you should do over and over again ..

I was also focused in small pots and picked up that dead money, I have to work on noticing board texture and comparing it to villains range a bit more though

Inventing scenarios I thought of during playing:

If villain is PROBING TURN 65%+ basically all bluffs+value but not Ax, and YOU HAVE 4th pair OTT, villain CHECKS, and ACE is OTF, ->TURN HAND INTO A BLUFF, cuz he has 2nd/3rd pair most of the time
LIMPED POT, flop goes CHECK CHECK, we are OOP, turn is a lower card 2-5, villain bets ->RAISE! low cards hit their limping range, when I check twice they think I'm week and thin value bet ->just x/r

I will make a HH review tmrw morning for warmup so more on mistakes/what I learn coming then

today there was lots of poker unrelated stuff to be done and tmrw I'll need to sacrifice another 1.5h for it as well but I can't wait for Thursday to be free all day and just grind

Plan tmrw:
  • sleep 8h
  • no time waste w/ gf/shower/eat
  • warmup(go over mistakes/HH review)
  • play min 8h
  • meditate/handstand/read/affirmations while on break
  • no tv no sweets->no time to waste
  • notice board texture compare it to range in l/r 3bp, keep picking up small pots(XXB), ultra attention on sizings/patterens/making inventing scenarios as u go, 2 tablles max
failure is a chice, there are no small decision/mistakes, no stagnation, no status quo, you either improve or stay behind, either make the right choice or not

DAY 2

Time Played: 6h15min
Hands Played: 1.5k
Profit: -80€

Slept 8h, woke up at 10.30. Lay in bed w gf a bit, ate, did HH review(top 10 winning/20 losing hands), made notes of some mistakes, and played 50min before I needed to drive my gf to school. I could have played more but internet was out for few minuts so I couldn't. No huge mistakes yesterday though, except when I was 3 tabeling there was a spot vs a fish on the table that just poped up ... I had A8o on the BB, called. Flop was 845mono of hearts which I didn't have, he bet 3/4, turn 4 he bets 1/2, and he was a bit short but still had like 50bb or so and I shipped it in.

It was obv bad cuz if he calls with a draw he still has lots of outs, if he folds I don't gain that much and most of the time he will be better unless worse 8x for which I have a blocker obv. Why did I do it? cuz I was not focused, or actually overwhelmed by all the action obviously. THE REAL REASON why I shipped it in is because it's in our nature, to look for easy ways, instead of ending up in tough spots. Our brain always looks for shortcuts and if it sees potential tought spot ahead will do everything to avoid it. Tough spot in this case being folding river to 3bar cuz that's what I'd do no matter flush or no flush there. I don't think there's much to do about it in the future except remember the spot, play 2 tables max, no snap decisions. This isn't even a tough spot, I would snap fold river, easy fold. It was just the tought of losing needing to fold and lose I guess.

Ok so later on came home, started grinding. Was playing pretty great today, can't remember one bad decision. Made some good folds I believe. But I wasn't running good. So after 5.5h grind I was 3.5BI down. Though I'm playing ok but just in case I stoped, meditated, went over some spots, got back in, played some more lost half BI and decided to stop for the day since I was 4BI down. Doesn't matter that I was running bad I feel it's enough. Tmrw is a new day. At least I can catch up on reading The Mastery.

Things to note from today:

Put more attention on limped pot when OOP and villain check back flop.
Put more attention on what % of hands to defend BB cuz villains oppening range changes and I sometimes forget to adjust if I play 3 guys.

Sometimes I notice when I'm slowly getting grinded down, like I'm in the zone, after 1h I notice I'm 1.5BI down and in my mind alarms start to pop off, I don't know how I lost it even though I thought I played okay, this makes me wanna quickly get it all back BUT lately don't know how, maybe cuz I was studying variance and my subconscious know but I just say to myself, "this is normal, just make sure you don't lose too much and remember that if cards fall right u can make it all back in one hand" and this calms me down, I stay focused. I like it.

Another thing. Not just in poker but also in life(sports for example) u have people who lose and start getting sloppy and irratated. And u have people who focus even more in that moment. This is the diff between mediocer and great. I knew how to be calm and focus even more when odds werent in my favour in sports, but this is the first time I notice I started doing it in poker. Cuz how stupid is that like u are losing and now you'll play even worse? no, focus even more, look at the next hand as if you just started the session.

I also cleaned the room and made space here on some higher desk so some of the time I'm standing up while playing so that I don't hurt my back.

Also I won't do this leg workout again I'm too cripled after it, it's -ev for poker, and I have defined legs already so now I'll mostly do insanity, biceps, back, shoulders.

Old stuff to remember:

-notice board texture compare it to range in l/r 3bp,
-keep picking up SRP pots(XXB) and limped pots,
-ultra attention on sizings/patterens->adjust
-2 tables max,
-asign him exact/speciffic ranges
-cross reference one situation into another
-find leaks on HUD

-you won't quit and self pitty! losing focus is a choice ie failing is a choice,
pull it together like it's the first hand
-stop wandering, be present, no laziness->cross reference info, how board hits his range,
pick up small pots(raise when u feel he's weak)
-patience
-what tilts you is your weak spot
-first see sizing then act on it, don't imagine things

Plan tmrw
  • sleep 8h
  • prepare smoothie, drink it while doing warmup(go over spots, watch a video) and stretch
  • play min 9h
  • meditate/handstand/affirmations while on break
  • no tv no sweets->no time to waste
  • first 30min play only 1 table to see how u do
  • if u notice not sitting str8 or getting lazy immeditately get back

*actually I did a review now and I made one mistake, called a river raise over my prbR w/ TPGK, easy fold but seems like I was unfocused strange that I forgot about it, probably had some BS reason to call

Anyways here's graph since I started the challenge:

You remind me of myself a lot. I was like you in the beginning, been taking cold showers for 1 1/2 years now, got ripped and been progressing through the stakes. ET is nice to listen to but he is motivation, you need discipline, motivation is fugazi. Will follow, good luck.

thanks man. yeah I used to listen to ET but nowadays I have enough internal motivation.

Mid Day Report

Pretty bad day. Hit stoploss 3BI after 1h25min. Basically right in the start I made a huge mistake. I skipped the warmup. I was like I've checked yesterdays hands already, I'll just 1 table and it should be fine, well it wasn't. I ****ed up a 3bp hand. I had AKo 3b get called, 48Ahh 6 6h board I 2barrel which is ok but OTT I just jammed it in but I should have check folded easly if I were thinking a bit. Cuz if he bets into me OTR there are no bluffs(gutters fold OTT), he has either str8 or 88(less likely cuz I'd get raised OTT), but flush or 56 67 etc. So after this hand I realized I need to take it easy and do the warmup ... then I went back in and lost another big pot and a few small ones and here we are.

I should also fold AA on 94hQh 4 2h in 3bp to river bet in position, villain checked back but if he bet I'd need to FOLD.
I should 2bar K6h on A9h4h 2h cuz I have no SD value. Remember doing it in similar spots: flush complets, we have low FD card->3rd pair fold/2nd pair w/o fd folds/we have outs if villain has TP w/o fd.

I'm down 150€ since I started so I need to make some adjustments to reduce variance:

1 table only and super focus
Always warmup not matter what
Play only people who you have evident edge against(stations, light stackoff)
Volume doesn't matter that much
Play low variance game: no 4b shoving PP and Ax, no half and hald wide, 3b tighter, raise limps tighter, 4b tighter, callof allins preflop tighter

I really wanted to put in 10h today but I guess I'm not ready yet, someone is telling me to take it slow and work on the game some more. I will believe in the process and do what I can with what I have.

Also I will look for occasional jobs to get 100-200€ ... usually here in SLO you get payed 3.8-4.5€/hour as a student working in warehouses or such +0.7c goes into your pension fund or something pretty bad but what can u do.

So right now I will read the book, meditate and go over all the mistakes/spots ... I will play some more, if I lose 1BI I'll stop for the day otherwise I'll see.

DAY 3

Time Played: 1h35min
Hands Played: 350
Profit: -70€

Not exactly sure what to do, this has been happening to me a lot lately. I wonder what the best in the game do in this situation? Example: You hit stoploss. Try again after few hours, lose some more. You are not really sure anymore whether you're playing ok or not but at first glimps over hands everything seems fine. Although you know you haven't been focused 100% but you're that focused like 20% of the time anyways, you just miss on small stuff like oh he 2bar donked bluff here so probably he only only 2bar bluffs when IP(this is small stuff for me and maybe huge for someone else). Other than missing on small ideas like this you're ok. Now u have 2 options: 1) quit for the day, no worries tmrw is a new day 2) Somehow get it together to get back to that level of 100% focus again and play on, How to get to that level again? Visualization? also is it even possible to get to that level of focus again after you've lost a bit of motivation/confidence or is short term mind so damaged that needs 5h rest inbetween, maybe at first 5h, then 2h, the nothing? How do you build on it? Just push and try and try to focus although you know u might lose some more cuz of it? At the same time u know if u quit you'll have free time to do whatever else you'd like to do so you have to deal with that also, since our mind will be bombarded with all the reasons why you shouldn't play and giving you all the great images of outer world.

I guess the only way to find out is to try, get into this spot, remember this post, and try to get back to that 100% level. I have to be honest though atm I chose to quit for the day. My excuse? BR is low I can not afford it to lose some more money in order to maybe get that 100% focus. Not sure, maybe if I tried and made it whole new world would open up to me. New level of normality.

Another thing I've been wondering. Levels of normality. What si normal for me is not normal for you. Maybe for Jungleman that 100% level of focus is normality 80% of the time cuz he learned to train his mind. For me it's normal to play 5h/day, for grinders might be normal 10h. For me it's normal that I compare villains range to the board texture only when I'm super focused for high stakes players this might be second nature. I really wanna know what is normal for guys making 5k/month.

Nevertheless I feel there are endless worlds of creativity/capability to discover for me. What if we can ultra focus for 24h strainght? Maybe we can if we tried over and over again. Then this would become our world.

Ok whatever. Now I'll go over todays hands more in depth, maybe post some, I also have to figure out some other personal stuff.

Planning to go to bed at midnight, wake up at 8. Warmup+play+focus

Hey,

My shower wasn't working today so I had to skip my cold shower. I was distracted by other stuff today (i was robbed while i was gone) and played very poorly. Instead of forcing it, I took the day off and visited my neighbor. We had a great time talking about stuff and now I feel motivated to play again tomorrow with full concentration and focus (not skipping my cold shower!) I think you have to become really in-tune with your body and sensations and you'll find the right answer for yourself. Ido Portal, a movement pioneer said that every second our body is telling us something, telling us we need to release tension here or do a certain exercise but we are all so out of tune with it we just ignore it. so i guess my advice is, try listening to your body more and know when you feel too out of balance.

yeah I'm a fish. I've been ENLIGHTENED!

So some time ago w/ my coach I was like I'm running bad I play fine but when we went through HH I saw I played like ****. So now I did the same. Sure I'm not running the best, but I also suck at the game. I thought since I've been playing for some time now that I deserve success and that it's just a matter of time for the luck to come my way. It's BS. Time has nothing to do with it if you're not thinking deeply about the game. In terms of improving I just started playing poker 3 days ago. Sure I learned a lot before but time spent thinking deepy about spots/what to learn from it/memorize it/use it in the game was close to zero, all I did before was listen to coach and nod, some stuff stuck some not but mostly I though time willl bring success, but it won't, only deep level of focus will on and off the tables. That's why people wonder when someone goes from zero to hero so fast, cuz time has nothing to do with it. it's like physical work. U can do some menial physical job for for 8h for 40 bucks or u can be a bit smart and make a product, sell it and reap the rewards long after ... same here, u can do basic warmup grind 8h/day, watch a video here and there or u can focus deeply when playing and when studying and in the same amount of time you will get enourmously better resluts. lol I'm talking like I know it all here but I really feel that this is it.

I'm not making money cuz I don't deserve it yet. I still make huge mistakes compared to what winning players do. At least I see that now.

Here is one example:

Stacks:
SB ($13.77) 69bb
BB Hero ($21.22) 106bb
Pre-Flop: (0.30, 2 players) Hero is BB A 7

villain raises to $0.40, Hero calls $0.30

Flop: A 3 3 ($1, 2 players)
Hero checks, villain bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50
Turn: J ($2, 2)
Hero checks, villain bets $1, Hero calls $1
River: 10 ($4, 2)
Hero checks, villain bets $4, Hero calls $4
Final Pot: $12
villain shows
6 7
Hero shows
A 7
villain wins $11.80 (net +$5.90)
Hero lost $5.80

What is he repping? 10 helped him somehow
How could it help him? BDFD hit, T3, J3 also in possible

I know he can't have Ax cuz he was limping all Aces, also he wouldn't use this sizings if he had 3x.

Which bluffs can he have? he's a fish he can random 3bar.

This was my thought process. Things I should have looked for:

1st thing to notice: pot bets are usually strong w/ fish, unless pot bet is std for them w/ cbets, probes etc.
2nd thing: IS HE CAPABLE OF 3BAR BLUFF? No. He fold 55% to cb, which means he's fit or fold player.

When u add this into decision it's pretty easy to fold.

So what winning players do that losing don't? Take more subtle factors into account.

I feel so stupid atm really cuz it's just so simple. Simple, not easy. Now I just need to get into the habit of doig this.

ANOTHER THING:

If something is inconsistent. If u feel that player is not really telling a story. DO NOT ASSUME HE'S RANDOM BLUFFING.

He might have hit something later on! IS HE CAPABLE OF BLUFFING IN THIS SPOT? if not. He hit later on for sure!

Another huge huge thing to remember I think.

Forget the mentality oh he's a fish he can have anything. No. Everybody is giving out this small signs that I have to look for and take them into account. I will not look at fish as fish anymore cuz that gives my mind a sign that they are worst than me ie I don't have to focus so much. They are just another player to figure out.

Yes, I've heard it a milloin times, listen to your body, also heard of Ido Portal, but seems like I forget about it along the way. So thanks for reminding me again.

Now looking back I should have quit, take 2h off, make the in depth HH review which I did today, and maybe then play some more ... so next stoploss day I won't take the whole evening off but only couple of hours to let the emotions to subside and then get back at it again.

DAY 4

Time Played: 4h
Hands Played: 900
Profit: -20€

Woke up, muscles feeling better but I've got herpes which is annoying. Worked on the game, stuff I wrote about earlier ... started playing and after 2h almost hit stoploss, took a break, read a book, mediated, went over mistakes again, eat ... played some more, had this fish on blaze tables but then like 5 other people came and I couldn't keep track all of them and HUD is not working/staying behind, there was no other action so I quit, went jogging 3km, did a good stretch. Went back at it again lost fush vs flush and some other coolers and all desire to play, I played 30min more but I noticed I'm tired and not fully focused so I quit.

I notice that I manage tilt well but when I lose 3 days in a row like this it's gets to me a bit and I get then tilted faster. Every time after I quit I motivate myself to come back prepared but if I lose again quickly after I need a break. I'm frustrated since I really wanna put in high volume but just can't either stoploss, tilt, no action, life distractions.

AT least I got one reload bonus and sold the punching bag for 60€.

Tmrw I plan on waking up at 10(sleep 8h), do the warmup(HH review from today), play as much as I can while remembering the important stuff. Also tell everyone to leave me alone til the end of the day.

At 6.30 I need to stop playing and go to the theatre cuz I promised my gf llong time ago but after it I can play again if everything goes well.

Whatever. Today is over. I still learned a lot. I believe tmrw will be better. I hope for 8h grind and Agame.

All it takes to win is one question.

How do I beat this guy?

Noone is just random. Everybody has patterns, everybody can be beat no matter how it seems.

Did everything right today, prepared, opend up tables and lost 1.5BI in 20min vs a guy who just wouldn't fold, aggro IP and also ran good.

I noticed how I'm losing it so I quit. In game I felt I have no idea how to beat him. It seemed if I continue he'll grind me down to busto.

In the beginning of the match few suckouts happened and I believe it clouded my mind. I stoped looking for small stuff. I was on autopilot, thinking I can't beat him no way.

Self pity mode set in. Why do I run so bad? This stupid poker is all luck unless u play 200k hands. I'm giving all I got and get this **** like I wouldn't do anything at all?

I've cooled down. I'm tired of self pity. I'm glad that now I get angy if I see self pity. I am a champion. I will face this like a champion. I believe this is world preparing me for something huge.

I did a HH review and obviously saw small signs I didn't in game that would change the flow of the game enitrely.

How do I beat this guy?

NO cb bluff unless really dry like 24J but cb light for value
NO prbT/R bluff nor light for value cuz xb TP
XR cbets, bet strong OTT after but only if u pick up eq.
XR bets IP in limped pots, never bet if checks behind
Call BIP lighter in 3bp or l/r pots on dry boards cuz he xb TP
Slowplays nuts OOP, raise turns
Limped pots donk 3rd pairs, call 2nd pair turning to 3rd pair OTT twice, call flop raise turn w/ draws
Raise any kind of donks and continue OTT strong if overs
2x 55%, 4x top 15% or limp and 4x if he let's you, if he raises limps try limping JJ-AA
3b and l/r TT+ AT+ KQo KJs

The only thing I do not knwo vs this guys is whether is it better to simply not cb bluff or maybe 3bar more often, example:

924 A 5 he calld my 2bar w/ 28
724 K 5 called 2bar 29

My former coach was like, just don't cb bluff then ... this is what I've been doing my whole life ... now maybe it's better to 3bar cuz I'll get lots of folds OTR and more money this way, although it's true that in that situation then I won't be sure what to 3bar on which boards etc. since I wasn't doing it before ... I think the best is xb total crap+overs and cb like gutters/FD/OESD for bluff and 2bar if over card comes and 3bar no matter even if u miss .. think it's ok strategy for now

ok about to meditate now, maybe take a 10min walk since it's sunny for the first time, listen to some motivation speeches and go back in.

It's gonna be long 60days but I'm gonna come out a winner. 17th April is my Birthday, when I finish challenge. I'm turning 20, becoming an old fart, no time to waste.

DAY 5

Time Played: 1.5h
Hands Played: 350
Profit: 0€

Roller coaster of emotions today. Started hopeful and confident, lost, went into self pity mode, became angry at myself, pulled it together, knew what to focus on, steped into the arena again, can't lose now, lost for he second time, almost hit stoploss, but this time it was hard. One walk or session of meditation couldn't help cuz I really thought I'm playing good but I lost vs a guy who I had clear edge on and vs another guy who I blieved that if I play Agame which I did I'd win but somehow I lost and didn't know how exactly. There was no self pity or anger after this, but pure depression doubt and feelings of inferiority. I know why this gets to me, cuz I don't have confidence in my game, and I dont have that cuz I've been losing since day one since I started HU cash. I started to doubt that I'll never make it. Am I delusional and should really quit poker? This confidence you have is all fake based on nothing etc ... I felt whatever I do has no point, either I eat popcorn and watch TV or do HH review I still lose. BUT I knew this feeling from before so I didn't give in. I did not fall into my old habits. I knew I shouldn't turn on the tv, I shouldn't eat that chocolate, I should do something else from poker but benifical for life. But frankly I had no motivation for anything, II felt like the biggest loser. So I just sat on thee bed for like 1h and did nothing but think about lfe and convince myself not to turn on that TV, and I didn't. At some point I thought it's best to go to sleep for 2h and wake up w/ a clear mind. I tried, but I heard this ET voice, sleep is for weak. I watched some webinar after that did some reading and went to the theatre, I didn't felt like going though, felt it's stupid BS but actually it was great. It takes your mind off things, you learn this ancient stories and it made me creative, I got tons of ideas. Even woke me up and motivated me a bit so it's nice to go out when u lose instead to dwell on it at home. I came back rpetty tired but didn't wanna go to bed as looser so wanted to play 1 more hour/mediate/read a book before I go to bed. I did it and actually made it back to b/e. Cards also started to hit me. But I quit since I can not play my a game anymore. So now I'm gonna go to sleep.

Plan tomorrow:

visualize today what to do tmrw
Sleep 8h->motivational wake up music

Hey man, I like the thread and your motivation/discipline. Keep grinding and have faith. Good for you for not watching TV. I haven't had cable for a couple years now and never going back, waste of time.

What are you doing in the reading department? I think a book you may really enjoy would be Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. And given the fact you understand how important it is to meditate and visualize things, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy is my favorite book of all-time.

I think you would really like both books, I would read Power of Your Subconscious Mind first then Think and Grow Rich. If you like ET, these books should be right up your ally.

Have faith, keep grinding, stay persistent and disciplined, visualize yourself as that successful poker grinder and you will get there. GLGL

Thanks guys. @Wealth Yeah think and grow rich has been on my list for a long time but every time I then decide to read something else. Cool suggestion will defnitely read it but probably in a few months since I have others lined up before. Atm I'm reading The mastery-Robert Green, last month did Brian Tracy Maximum Achievement. I might actually do book reviews here as well!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Stacks:
SB ($103.7BB) 104bb
BB Hero ($102.95BB) 103bb
Pre-Flop: (1.5BB, 2 players) Hero is BB J J

SB raises to 2BB, Hero raises to 8BB, SB calls 6.5BB

Flop: 10 K 6 ($18BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, SB checks
Turn: 9 ($18BB, 2)
Hero checks, SB bets 13BB, Hero calls 13BB
River: 6 ($44BB, 2)
Hero checks, SB bets 39.1BB, Hero calls 39.1BB
Final Pot: $122.2BB
SB shows
7 8
Hero shows
J J
SB wins $121.2BB (net +$62.6BB)
Hero lost $60.1BB

Notes on the guy:

QK 3b, call 4b shove
wet flop donk pot Ahigh no draw, turn overcard bets pot again rvr shutdown
donks are bluff
overpot turn, 2/3 river bluff total air!
J8Tss T7 xb
3bar even on 4str8 board overpair, 1/2 rvr value bet
prbR big 1.82 into 1.9€ is bluff!-small BIP or small bets are then value??!!!!!!
dont OOP XXB bluff cuz calls 4th pair->value
Ax Axxhh xb

Relevant STATS: f3b 75%(3/4), probeTurn 35%, dcb 25%(1/4), steal 90%, fold to BIP in 3bp once

So I have no 3b stats since he was folding a lot. Now looking at his Dcb and prb in SRP seems like fit fold so unles he hit 99 OTT he wouldn't bluff.
I figured he'd BIP FD OTT since he was cbetting it in SRP. If he bet 5€ or something OTR I'd fold but since I had a read that he bets big/overbets I called.

Okay considering the info given? I think It'd be easier if I knew how he bets his strong value hands in SRP but I didn't(suspect that smaller sizing but no SD). Maybe there were some other signs I should look for?

Or it's just call and see, go from there? Or fold and that's it.

Nice man, love self-development. If I would recommend any one book to help any person elevate their life it would be Power of Your Subconscious Mind. Once you understand how our conscious and subconscious minds work you can really start changing things for the better. It's a short easy read too, Think and Grow Rich is longer a bit more dense. I actually like Master Key to Riches better than Think and Grow Rich but think Think and Grow Rich should be read first before Master Key. Master Key to Riches has less fluff, get's right to the point.

DAY 6

Time Played: 4h
Hands Played: 700
Profit: -10€

Prepare for this, another long ass post. Woke up as scheduled, did my morning routine like a boss, on point. Played fine 2h despite some suckouts. Then ti was time for lunch. Two families came w/ bunch of kids running around+our cat+their dog, time between soup/main meal/desert was right were it was not long enough for me to start a session and too long to just do nothing. Also the food sucked. My mom was trying to be fancy and it was all **** at the end, I was pissed cuz of those two things. Moreever I ate too much of the desert and was ful as **** so couldn't play obv. I lay in bed w/ gf then decided to play cuz felt time is running out. Ofc without a warmup+noise I didn't do well(idiot). Besides there was million people on blaze tables so I couldn't get a tablle vs one or two opponents but only like 5 which I can't play cuz HUd not working etc. so I had no action. I was mad at everyone cuz my day didn't go as planned. Took a walk, drove gf home, went to the gym, wrote some of the stuff you'll see below, and only then when things setled down I could focus and play some more of Agame.

In reality it's all my fault. I felt it yesterday that today is going to be a high distraction day but didn't do anything about it. I should have expected it and be prepared to deal w/ it.

Also I reazlized there's no shame in low volume. If the conditions don't allow me, won't bother. I used to live w/ this high volume grinders playing 200-300h/month so I feel bad now if I don't play 200h but it's not time for me yet, although I plan to make one 300h month in 2016.

On the positive side I sucked out on people for the first time this week, two times wuhu A3vQQ and A9v99 ... first hand guy was 3betting 35% over bigger sample so I 4b shoved, second guy was on tilt shoveing every hand so I called. I feel I'm runnign a bit better, just not getting action.

Ok so week will be soon over and I don't wanna wait for that to capture general things I learned and need to have in mind so I did it today while I couldn't play. At least I improved in a way that when things don't go my way I don't fall into old habits like TV/random eathing/browsing internet but rather do something useful.

----------------------

  • know your Cgame(writing adaptations, following basic HUD, noticing sizing tells)->if u autopilot pull it together, if u feel u cant(tired, mind damaged cuz of suckouts) quit BUT do the steps to get back to it asap(cold shower, walk)
  • warmup NOT JUST IN THE MORNING(HH review, go over important spots/things to remember, visulize playing-how to act mostly-ALWAYS, if u have no HH then watch a HU mastermind video)
  • more speciffic affirmations/targets to be reminded ingame;
-This is the best you can do right now-to be present, it can't get any better than this
-U won't quit and self pitty like u always do, losing focus is a choice, ---therefore losing/failing is a choice
-How lazy u must be if u feel bored when playing this complex game
-Look at the next hand like if it was the first one or like as if you'd be reviewing HH
-When losing just make sure you don't lose too much and remember that if cards fall right u can make it all back in one hand-patience
-When losing focus even more, don't be a moron
-Not why this is happening but why are you ahving this feelings towards it
    -Posture/alarm/ring/notes
-Never look at fish as fish-no entiltlement to win
  • get another 200€ and deposit
  • table select more->no tighters unless can be easly grinded down, no tricky villains(if it's hard to spot leaks don't play him)
Villains I've encountered that I had problems with:
-donk but doesn't fold to raise, aggro IP, calling station
-tricky guys traping TP, doing "random" stuff w/ same hands
(do a HH review of this guys again and note what tilted you, how to adapt, how to spot it)
  • no tv/no sweets/avoid salty food/enough water
  • Be alone more-laser focused-this will enable me to listen to my gut more
  • Only 1 tables/2 players in blaze
  • New spots:
-If villain is PROBING TURN 65%+ basically all bluffs+value but not Ax, and YOU HAVE 4th pair OTT, villain CHECKS, and ACE is OTF, ->TURN HAND INTO A BLUFF, cuz he has 2nd/3rd pair most of the time
-LIMPED POT, flop goes CHECK CHECK, we are OOP, turn is a lower card 2-5, villain bets ->RAISE! low cards hit their limping range, when I check twice they think I'm week and thin value bet ->just x/r
-Put more attention on limped pot when OOP and villain check back flop.
-Put more attention on what % of hands to defend BB cuz villains oppening range
    -limped/srp donk/prbT 3rd pair OOP if villain bets F&T a lot
-if something is inconsistent he hit something later on!
  • In game general:
-Don't be lazy in limped/srp->XXB IP OOP, turn hand into bluff, prbT more in limped
-is he capable of doing it? cross reference info
-first see SD, then make adjustments, don't imagine things
-how do I beat this guy
  • Don't eat like a pig for lunch/dinner so you can play afterwards
  • Don't do hard leg workout in the gym->do instanity instead
  • Plan one day ahead/prepare clothes/see possible obstacles and prepare for them
  • There is no shame in low volume, there is shame in not being present and follow rules that you've set up
  • Life stuff:
When u feel bad/angry ask WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM IT.
Everything that happens to me is necessary in order for me to become a champion.
What would my highest self do in this situation?
Even if u feel it has no effect and life is gray do the things on the to/do list.
Never be rude to people because you're losing in poker.
Always look for the good in people, everyone can teach you something.
Focus only on the things you can control.
Sacrifice WHAT YOU ARE for what YOU will BECOME.
Be grateful. You have a great life.

MOST IMPORTANT TO CHANGE:

Laser focus! Be alone more. Think more, be more present. Don't let the mind to become lazy. Listen to your gut!

----------------------

Now this might all seem overwhelming to remember but this are life truths I've found to work for me. I don't expect to remember/use them all but this is the never ending target. Things I'll get back to every single day and try to implement it in my thinking to become my second nature. Probably will take months but when I do get in in my blood I believe my life will be more joyful and fulfiled. Controling thoughs and train the brain what to remember/revert to in certain situations I believe is the key. First there is a thought. Then everything else. Control the thoughts, control your life.

Plan tmrw:

Wake up 9.30/prepare clothes-dress for success/cold shower/breakfast
warmup-HH review, visualize how to act, go over spots to remember, revert to this post
play
Warmup again after lunch
...
