As someone who is pro-Brexit I would say that the 2nd referendum being bad for democracy isn't so much whether people have changed their mind 2 years down the line but more 1) the fact that the vote for Brexit for many was due to their disillusion with not having a voice against the establishment and 2) The divide is already massive in the country due to the insults/vitriol spouted from the remainers (you didn't know what you were voting for, you're ruining your kids futures, etc.) so if they were seen to get what they've wanted from the outset then there will be absolute chaos going forward.
How many remainers have said "Unfortunately the country voted to leave so we must now work together on achieving a deal whereby we leave the EU but compromise as few of the benefits as possible"? Not many from what I've seen. I think those who voted leave, even if financially worse off after Brexit, would vote the same way again just as a **** you to those who have been on their high horse over how stupid people who voted leave are.

This was essentially my view after the referendum. I though both campaigns sucked.
I think a lot of people who didn't vote in the first referendum would vote for remain this time as they didn't believe it would really happen first time round. I do also think some people who voted remain would switch and vote leave because they want to respect the result of the first referendum.
Still reading this every time there's an update, thanks so much to those that are contributing. I'll be back in here full time in February.
Firstly, thanks so much for the 1,000,000+ views, it's so cool. I was thinking of doing something to celebrate, but I'd hate to oh I don't know do a draw for coaching live on Instagram and end up awarding it to a guy that beats me every time I play with him...
Spoiler:
Also love this so much, really think we'd get it this time...

Love the politics chat. Keep it coming! Couple of fun ones...
This one genuinely makes me so angry. During the Independence referendum in 2014 the BetterTogether side lied to and manipulated the gullible and the vulnerable to the extreme. OAPs told that if they voted for an independent Scotland their pensions would be at risk, people who weren't competent enough to do their own research told that if we voted for independence then we'd be out the EU, an entire nation told we wouldn't be allowed to use the pound if we voted Yes, absolute scum the lot of them...
Here's an example of the bolded, bear in mind this is 100% a real advertisement that was aired on TV from the BetterTogether campaign...
"that guy off the telly..." I mean can ye ****in imagine watching that and having that persuade you to vote no!?!
And one more, a great parody of the above, with many subtle references to the ****show that is the UK government...
Gazzy my friend, she's not what she seems!
Gazzy B, how much there is to see, just open your eyes and listen to me.
Straight ahead, a green light turns to red, oh why can't you see, owh Gazzy B.

This is exact mentality that elected Trump in US. And another example of how yet again so many people vote against their own interests.
I completely understand and share the f***k you sentiment.
However, voting for something that has monumental negative consequences on them and society as a whole just to say f***k you is not a smart way to proceed IMO.
If the same people haven't been voting against their own interests for years the very problems that are pushing them into extremes might have been prevented.
And yes, anyone who can't figure out how to vote for their own interest and is gullible to giving away their vote for those that are out to f***k them is stupid, sry.
So stupid that they're willing to f***k themselves over some principle, issue or ideology because they're to stupid to see the big picture.
Lol, I thought this was a joke, insane to see such a well-educated country voting for something so insane.
Here in brazil there was a moviment like that trying to separate the part of the country with the best beaches + most of the amazon rainforest from the rest haha. Obv bad idea and it's a crime here to advocate for that kind of stuff, which makes a lot of sense.

The Scottish independence movement is basically the opposite of what is happening in Brazil.
Liberal, inclusive nationalism. I suggest you educate yourself first before coming out with such nonsense.
/edit My reading reading comprehension may have been lacking as I thought you were talking about the far right nationalism in Brazil, either way have a read. Also, Scotland is a country not a city

Gah! It was my day and I completely dropped the ball because work has been so crazy for me. Well, I can at least offer somewhat of a crosspost from my PGC -
I am a chef in San Francisco, I used to play full time, played as high as 100/200 HU, lost everything multiple times due to drug & alcohol problems. Got sober, got everything back together, now dabbling online seeing what kind of hourly I can put together. I first came back out of retirement last year, thinking I could pick up some side money playing live (I didn't think I'd be competitive online having no PIO knowledge and not much time to study it), and made ~30k in the Bay Area card rooms in 2017. Got tired of playing live in my limited hours and decided I'd give online a shot again. It's been hard to get the volume in that I want because it's the busiest time of the year for me, but I'll throw in my graph since I started (December).
Basically, don't really know what I want to do going forward, I'm kind of disillusioned with my career as a chef because of how much I put into it versus what I get out of it, and am thinking if I can still beat 500 for a good clip I might just quit and try to pump that out for as long as I can and then re-evaluate, maybe open up a small restaurant, or try to dabble in real estate. More than anything, I've got this dream about moving onto a sailboat and traveling around that I can't quite let go of. I'm a dinosaur in the poker world (36) but I have an serious work ethic and have for over 10 years been able to find a winrate in the games. So far results have been meh, haven't played my A game as much as I should be because I play tired too often, and have run like death at 500 (I do think I've got a decent edge in the game fwiw).
Oh, and most importantly I met the famous Gazzy while on vacation in LA with my girlfriend, I stopped by the Commerce to donate a few k. Can confirm he is a great guy IRL and his c*ck was at least as big as that banana.
I don't know what specifically I should offer the thread but I will answer any and all questions for the next 3.5 hours until my day is over, GL everybody!
Got a few things I wanna reply to later itt (really enjoyed your update Olapido), and I still wanna update about 2018 and all the recent stuff I've had going on, but the time still isn't quite right. Big thanks to those that have listened to me moan lately, you're all heroes
For now though, let's forget about life and punt some stacks at 100z
alright guys, it's my day. no idea what to post so I guess I'll just say a little about my poker career and post a nice looking giraffe.
so last year was my first year playing poker full time since dropping out of college. it's been a fun fun ride. lots of highs and lots of lows. I made almost 6 figs last year basically ****ing around all year and averaging ~100 hours a month. made about 1/3 of my profit each from: 200nl+ online, online mtt's, and live cash (mostly 5/10). looking to grind a lot harder this year
here's the giraffe:
Spoiler:
and my 500nl graph for december/january:
Spoiler:
and here's a couple pics of my cat who helps keep me from tilting while I'm grinding:
hey tgids, just how much did you have to drink the other night!?
it was only ~12 drinks!

don't really have a routine tbh. some days, like yesterday, I like to start off with a run (4 miles yesterday)/a little lifting. some days I'm on the tables within 10 min of waking up because I can't stop myself. generally though, if I'm playing that day I'm putting in a long session starting around noon so I have snacks etc ready to go so I can play for 12 hours+ if necessary (longest online session was 15 hours) I tend to cook pasta or something easy for dinner while I play - I hate sitting out and potentially losing a seat so I just bring the laptop to the kitchen or run back and forth since my setup is in the living room a few feet away.
super generally, up around 10am, bsing/errands/chores around the house until 12-1pm, then grind until I'm too tired to keep my eyes open or I get bored. netflix for an episode or two if I'm lucky. go out 1-2 times a week to stay sane (shout out jdawg), but really focusing on the grind and making money while I can
haha thanks, me too. got him at 3 months old and he's almost 6 now (which is crazy to think about wow - I got him right around high school graudation)
he can be quite the ****head at times: he needs a lot of attention, he likes to stand in front of my monitor if he thinks I've ignored him for too long, he randomly likes to stalk me and try to surprise tackle me lmao... super cute stuff, just gets on my nerves when I'm tanking otr with a bluffcatcher lol
