Hello, so I mainly want to start this thread to have a place where I can keep track of my progress.

I have been playing poker for about 2-3 years on/off and not taken it very serious. (basically just gambled MTTs) I think that I have a basic understanding of the game by now and want to try my luck at cashgames. (while probably still playing some MTTs on the side)

Goals for 2018:

- move up stakes in cashgames (how far we will see, ideally 25NL)
- actively study to improve my games (buying software to help out at one point)
- BE A PROFITABLE PLAYER

Goals for May:

- run up bankroll to at least $200
- play 30k hands+
- move up to 5NL

Played a short session today and things seem to be going well. Been watching a lot of cash game streams lately and I feel like I can finally beat 2NL. Let's see if this run continues.

Started the session really really well (also running good) until I lost a 400bb pot flush over flush. The sad thing is I guess a good player would have folded. Played a bit tilted after that. Also noticed how my concentration went down after about 2-3k hands (even with breaks). First losing day but at least my EV was still positive.

Well on my way to $200. I am still thinking about how to handle scoop. (It is not like this bankroll is all my money and I am okay with investing a few hundred) However my bankroll management in MTTs is pure ****. Maybe I should keep 2 seperate rolls.

If you want to gamble, I'd suggest set $220 aside for 4 tickets HOT $55 and try your hardest to hit a top 3 (6k, 4.2k and 2.8k top 3 places) in a field of less than 1000 peeps playing. It's still a longshot, but imo easier to bing a top 3 and get some monies than via small-ticketin' low buying SCOOP(s).

Oh well, I suck. Even NL2 seems hard as **** for me. Felt like every upswing was followed by a massive downswing and in the end tilt got to me so I even ended the month in the red. Also lost about 300$ during SCOOP in MTTs. Had to reload the roll like 2 times. I am not going to do this anymore. If I bust my roll again I will quit for a while at least. This is my last attempt. From now on I will only play MTTs where I have at least 100 Buyins and I will continue to play NL2 until I manage to finally get a decent BB/100. (if ever)

As of now the bankroll stands at 506.51$

NL2 is easy. I join in, everyone is so scared of me. 10bb/100 forever, crushing.

What's a decent NL2 winrate in your books, like se7en?

Sorry for the late reply. I have continued to grind small stakes MTT's and 2NL this month. Bankroll stands at $402,57 (down about $100 from when I last posted thanks to MTT's)

I decided to stop playing MTT's and have been focusing on cashgame.
I feel like I finally got an edge over the population at 2NL (wow I'm so good). Seriously though, finally understanding the concept of being in position (or OOP), value betting and making some tight folds (2NL players don't overbet/raise river without the nuts) seems to be enough for 2NL.

Currently winning at 10BB/100. If I can continue at this pace I will move up to 5NL finally.

Goals for the rest of the month:

volume: 50.000 hands ( 15.914 hands to go)
winrate: minimum 10 evBB/100 (currently at 10.75)

Obviously after I posted my last upswing things started going south again. However maintaining a 10BB/100 rate is probably not realistic for me anyway, so I am okay with it.

Made $46,67.

Decided to switch to 5NL after because I doubt playing hundreds of thousands of hands at 2NL will really make a difference at "higher" stakes.

Ran pretty bad in All-In situations but overall I am happy with my progress so far. Obviously the sample is really small and I will continue to grind 5NL for now to see how I do over a more meaningfull sample before moving up further.
