GL OP and nice looking graphs.

My suggestion for beach grinding in Mexico is a place called San Agustinillo, on the Oaxaca state coast.

I have been to pretty much all over Mexico, and this was by far the most beautiful beach. Also pretty close (about an hour away) to Puerto Escondido if you're into surfing.

The water here is so warm, and chock full with sea turtles, dolphins and whales, and sport fishing too.

Grinding spot hehe

Thanks for the tip, I've spent a bit of time in Mexico and I love the place. Never been over on the pacific coast though so I'll definitely think of checking out San Agustinillo, looks beautiful. I just need to convince my GF she won't get kidnapped.

Played a decent session this morning 2612 hands +$366.65 can't complain finishing up but I'm not very happy with how I played. I tried going back to 6 RUSH tables 3 x $200 and 3 x $400 and it didn't really work out, felt like I was getting owned a lot in NSD spots. Only really managed to finish up due to a big suckout AIPF and a nice heater in the last 100 hands.

Still not 100% comfortable with the money at $400nl again yet. That downswing last year has scarred me . I feel like I'm playing a bit weak tight in spots and getting run over sometimes where at $200nl I'm usually the one doing the running over. Part of the issue too I think, is that now I know my salary is going to end shortly, the $$'s are more valuable. I think I'm just going to stay at $200nl for most of my sessions and keep taking small shots at $400nl with a $1k stop loss until I have some more padding in my BR and I'm feeling more comfortable about the play there.

Poker update

Things haven't been going so great with the poker last few days. Hit a bit of a downswing but I can't really complain, I'm still at 5bb/100 for the month which is my target WR. Can't blame the all in ev as I'm about 5bi's over for the month, just a combination of not playing my 'A' game and running kind of bad in non all-in spots. Watched Slowlane123's RUSH video's on DC last light and picked a couple new things to try and incorporate into my game in the next few days. I've also changed my HUD up a little to show 4bet and fold to 4bet stats as I use these quite frequently and previously needed to use the pop-up to access them.

Travel Update:

Spent 2 hours at the travel agents getting the round world ticket sorted. Those things are seriously complicated!! Basically the way our ticket works is you get 29,000miles and 15 stops but you can't backtrack at all and you can only take flights with carriers in the "Star Alliance". Pretty hard work to try and get everything we want to do to fit with theses guidelines... We did manage to get it to work, the dates still need some work and we will be organizing a heap of local transport to get to the areas we want but here is the bones of our trip.

Melbourne to
Bangkok to
Hong Kong to
Beijing to
Dubai to Istanbul

We will spend the next 4 months in Europe organizing our own travel arrangements working our way west until..

London to
New York

Once in the USA we will again be sorting out our own arrangements. The plan currently is to spend a bit of time in Central America, Mexico and Costa Rica in particular before making our own way across to the US West Coast and then...

San Diego to
San Fransisco to
Honolulu to
Auckland to
Melbourne

It's a beast of a trip, I hope it all works out!!

Well $400nl has many more regs than $200nl does, its quite rare to see many recreational fish at $400nl just giving it a go like you do at $200nl. It's quite common for every player at a given table to be regs of some sort.

There are differences in the quality of regs too in a word, aggression. At $400nl there is heaps more 3, 4 and 5 betting pre-flop. The average $200nl reg might be something like 12/9/3 and the average $400nl reg is more like 14/10/4. Slowlane123, a coach at DC put out some rush video's recently on this subject if your a member I can recommended them.

Poker Update:

Played a decent session in the afternoon and recovered most of the downswing. 2119 hands +$989.75

Really struggling to increase my BlackCard average. I don't know who you grinders do it. I can't keep my concentration up for more than 1 or 2 hours max without needing a decent break. My plan at this stage is to just try and keep my average close to 1000pts/day and then put in a huge grind in March when I'm off work but we haven't left yet to try and get it as high as I can.

Played a really small session 397 hands +$385.15. I think I have a leak; any time I get u pa couple buy ins early in my session I lose all will to grind and just knock off for the day. Did manage to play a couple interesting hands though:

Villain in this hand is themightyjim definitely on of the best midstakes FR (and SH) regs on FTP. Against most opponents flop is an obvious c-bet but against a really good reg I like the check-raise as it reps more bluffs and semi-bluffs. I am pretty sure jim would fold to bet/bet/shove line with TPTK here but my line gets him to stack off pretty light. I would also take this line with AA sometimes here for the same reason.

Travel update

Had a local real estate agent over this afternoon to look at our house and give us some advice on renting it out while we are away. She thinks we might get $500/week which I'm pretty happy with. There's still so much to do before we go. You don't really realize how much needs to be done until you start trying to pack up your whole life. Still need to sell my car, get my passport renewed (it doesn't expire until next year but better to sort it out here than try and organize it while overseas), organize storage for my stuff. Then there's all the bills, mail and banking stuff!! On the positive side work has offered me leave without pay instead of resigning which is pretty good. Don't really know if I wan't to come back but I guess it's nice to have the option. It also means I have a chance to get my quarter 1 bonus which I'm not eligible for if I resign.

Played a small session after work Friday. Shouldn't have really played as I had a couple beverages after finishing. Had the good control to quit when I realized I wasn't anywhere near my 'A' game. Still managed to lose -$541 in only 140 hands.

After quitting and deciding to crash in front of the TV I thought it would be a good idea to play a couple tourneys while I relaxed. Built up I nice stack in the $55/$12k guarantee before falling asleep. Woke up with 11bb remaining and managed a min cash.

Here's a hand that demonstrates a principle that's been discussed recently in the SSNL forum; not shutting the fish out. Its become so common now light 3 and 4 betting between regs that people are losing sight of where the profits come from. Flatting and letting worse players put more in is going to be infinitely more profitable in many situations (imo). UTG1 is a big fish I have him at 35/10/16.7 and a 0% fold to 3bet. MP1 is a standard rush TAG
