OK guys, here we are !
HOMEWORK
1. Villain’s range is 66+, AJ+. How many combinations of pairs does he have?
A pair is 6 combos so we have 9 pairs for a total of 9*6= 54 combos
We have 12 combos of offsuited hands and 4 of suited (total 16 combos for one hand). We have AJ/AQ/AK so a total of 16*3 = 48 combos
Is range is 48+54 = 102 combos
2. Villain’s range is any two cards ten and higher (TT+, JT+,QT+,KT+,AT+). How many combinations is that? Write them out.
TT/JJ/QQ/KK/AA is 6*5= 30 combos
JT/QJ/QK is (12+4)*3 = 48 combos
QT/KJ is (12+4)*2 = 32 combos
KT is 12 combos
AT/AJ/AQ/AK is (12+4)*4 = 64 combos
Villain’s range is 30+48+32+12+64 is a total of 186 combos
3. How many suited Ax combinations are there? Write them out.
A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 A7 A8 A9 AT AJ AQ AK is 4*12 = 48 combos
4. The flop is AQ5. We have AK. How many combinations of sets are possible for villain (assuming he can have any hand)? Write them out.
Villain could have AA/QQ/55
1 ace one the board, one in our hand so there is one combo of AA. One Q and one 5 on the board so we have only have the combos of pairs, which is 6/2 = 3 combos of 55 and 3 of QQ
Total set is 3+3+1= 7 combos
5. The flop is AsQd5h. We have 6s5s. How many combinations of AQs can villain have? Write them out.
For a suited hand there are 4 combos but we have an ace of one color and a queen of the other color on the flop so villain can’t have 2 combos of AQs
Which means there are only 2 combos possible for him : AhQh and AcQc
6. The flop is AQ7r. We have 77. How many combinations of gutshots can villain have? Write them out.
A gutshot is KJ, KT or JT so : 12 of each are offsuited, 4 suited:
(12+4)*3= 48 combos
7. The flop is AQ7r. How many TP+ combinations are there? Write them out.
Top pair: A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 A8 A9 AT AJ AK. An ace blocks 4 combos on 16 for each hand so 12*10= 120 combos
Two pairs: A7 AQ Q7, only 2 combos on 4 for the suited for each hand because of a rainbow board and 7 on 12 for the offsuited which is (7+2)*3 = 27 combos
Set: 77 QQ AA, 3 combos for each pair because we have a blocker on the flop so 3*3= 9 combos
Range is 120+27+9= 156 combos
8. How many combinations from question 7 do we beat with AT? Write them out.
We beat only top pair with a lower kicker so A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 A8 A9. There were 120 combos BUT we have a blocker on this range so it is now limited to 8 combos by hand so:
8*7= 56 combos
9. Villain from question 2 (TT+, JT+,QT+,KT+,AT+) goes to the flop. The flop is As8s9c. Does he have more combinations of made hands (and 1P+), or draws (any FD, OESD, GS)?
Made hands: TT (6) JJ(6) QQ(6) KK(6) AA(3) and AT (12) AJ(12) AQ(12) AK(12) total is = 75 combos
OESD: JT 16 combos
GS: QT/QJ 32 combos
FD: JT QJ QK QT KT KJ: 3 are already in the straight draw list so we have only a total of 3 combos here
Draw Hands: 16+32+3 = 51 combos
Villain has more value hands!
10. Villain from question 9 goes all-in on the flop with all of his made hands and draws. The flop is $10, and he has $15. Can we profitably call him with TdTc?
