Hey all,

Thanks for tuning into the thread, I really appreciate it. I, like most of you reading this, have a goal. That goal is to become a professional poker player or to at least make some cash on the side of whatever else I am doing.

Given that I don't have a credit card, I started building my bankroll with free-rolls. During one, I won a $1 Spin and Go ticket, and turned that into $4. Now I am looking to turn that $4 into something more. My goal is to reach the $100 mark in around 6 months or very casual playing. I think that after that, I can turn the $100 into $500-$1000 in another 6-9 months.

This is part of a challenge to show that poker is still beatable, and even the little guys, us micro-grinders, can too achieve something great in the world of poker.

Let me know how you think I should build the roll (I was thinking Spin and Go's myself), and anything else you think is appropriate.

My advice would be to make sure you are checking all the sites and jumping in all the groups that offer free rolls. I play a lot on 5dimes and they have freerolls that sometimes have 40 people in it. I really do feel like there are so many freerolls someone could scratch out 1-200 a month grinding them. Would be miserable but would help work on your game.

Thanks mate, I really appreciate your input and support. I was thinking of that myself, as I am really only a Stars player.

one of the most important things i never to over-estimate your bankroll and your chances against higher level players:
in my example, i made ~20$, playing freerolls and 10 cent rebuy/addon tournaments [buy-in+2X rebuy+ addon makes it 40 cents], but then i tried to risk it in a 10 dollar buy-in game - i lost, because players on that level were far more advanced than the usual freeroll/10 cent player pool;
but, since i had started to beat them, i thought - hey, i must be good, but this was not the case, apparently;
my advice is, keep building bankroll, until you have ~50+ buy-ins for the next level, only then try out the deeper end of the swimmingpool or you risk to bust!

proper bankroll is a must have against variance or stronger opponents of the next level!
