Former SNG pro going cash starting from 2NL Former SNG pro going cash starting from 2NL

Hey there!

I'm a former SNG pro who mainly played 18man turbo's a couple years ago up to $100s. After a couple years I got burned out and quit, only playing some MTTs on sundays for fun. Recently I won a 16.50 heads up turbo zoom ko for about $1900.

I've decided to try cash games today starting from the bottom (2NL). I'll be 2 tabling zoom 6max games. I currently work fulltime so I won't be making insane volumes.

So far I played about 2500 hands today with 24.5bb/100 and 20bb/100 allin adjusted.

Will post some of my graphs later.

Cheers!

Played a little more, lost quite a big flip near the end while running it twice, allin adj BB/100 still near 20 so I'm feeling pretty confident after the first day of the challenge

glgl, im on similar path. I also used to play sng's back in the old days (mostly 45+), later played more mtt's. In 2018 I burned you and went to "normal" job. I started play nl2 in mid 2019 with 60$ br. Now I'm on nl50, looking to attack nl100. It's a fun ride

Zoom variance is pretty insane, the games are also much tougher than regular tables.
I found zoom more enjoyable in the past though, which is also important!

Good luck!

Thanks! I find it quite enjoyable too and I like the no table selecting and just start to play immediately whenever I want

Played pretty good after watching a cash reg play micros on youtube but ran terrible, 2 times QQ vs AA pre, AQ vs AJ on AAJxx against a fish and overall all big pots didn't seem to go my way.

We'll try again another day!

Ran insanely bad today, also had a stupid missclick that cost me 33bb

Watched a 2NL vid before I played and definately improved though, 2NL has high rake and therefore I have to play 3b or fold except on the bb.

After checking some of the hands I noticed that I should probably be more consistent in my 3betting size (3x ip and 4x oop), not sure why I didn't do that while playing

Any feedback is welcome!

It's all good, I only play 2NL because I wanted to start from the bottom and I can play way higher if I want to so I don't care about the $. Also I have really good tilt control as I used to be a 25-35 tabling sng reg back in the day (usually didn't even have time to see my bad beats/coolers while playing )

GL u2!

Did a super tiny session where I won 2.5 BI in 220 hands, also 2.5 BI AI adjusted, hopefully it's the turnaround of the bad luck!

Gonna head out to do some skateboarding, will play the 55 scoop ko in about 2 hours and some turbo mtts later

Lost about $50 in mtts, played together with a friend and we always split 50/50, one of us got like 200th place in the 55 scoop knockout but got coolered qq vs kk unfortunately.

Started a 3 zoom tables session after and did pretty good again, notable big pots lost were set over set and got called after tripple barreling when the guy tanked for 1 min on the river.

Pocket 77 i think is a set up..i will get stacked there aswell
AJ hand..i will probably x/fold the flop..i'll float if i had the A of diamonds..as played i like the turn bet..i'll go probably a little bit bigger to apply pressure..and as played i like the river jam aswell..we don't have any SDV and to apply pressure again i think it's fine
T9 hand..i like the flop call..i will probably raise that turn..we have tons of equity to do that..
A10 i like the small cbet on the flop..and on that run out we have a easy call on the river..we're not happy about it but it what it is
22 i'll probably go a little bit bigger on the flop..maybe 4bb?
88 hand..the 1bb bet on the turn would have probably messed with my head..and i'll probably have called river..he will call a wide range in the BB as he gets a good price pre..it may be 9j that got there..i think probably a flush will not bet 1bb on the turn..he may have a weak T? and shoving river with maybe QT? but yeah..i'll probably call there as a bluff catch with the set against a fishy player..
K5 i will probably check back the river..him calling the turn makes me think he's ahead most of the time..and i don't think we can create any folds after he called the turn..so i will problably check back

AJ Yeah I thought the bb probably has quite some suited broadways/ace highs he'd fold to a small flop bet.

T9s agreed

Hmmm I think the AT river call isn't that easy but I guess still a call, not sure though

About the 88 hand, he bet 1bb on flop and called a cold 3b, when he bet 1bb again on the turn I put him on a draw he completed trying to induce a big raise as I've seen this quite a few times in the past when people played a hand like this, also on 2NL most people won't play 2p or even a set this way on this river where all draws are completed

K5 well ofcourse he's ahead like always but when he checks turn I'd immediately remove all strong jacks from his range so I guess this river bet is good against the population except people who play AJ KJ QJ like this

Ty for the feedback!

K5 hand..i think we can remove the strong jacks..but about underpairs..do you think we can make something like pocket 10,88 that check turn to fold river?

GL, sir! I'll follow. In my opinion you should try and move up to 5NL as soon as you have 20bi. There is no skill gap difference between these stakes, and from the hands you posted, you have a pretty solid game .

It's all good man, no question is dumb and I'm also at the beginning of cash games, just have a lot of experience in SNGs and some in MTTs, I've definately improved already by playing 2NL
