It's been awhile! For those that don't know me (likely 99% of you) you can read a bit about my poker history in some of my past PG&C threads.

Making it Online Post-BF, RB Grinding 'Til My Fingers Fall Off

To bring you up to speed (super short version). I was laid off in January 2011 and decided to take my casual hobby and turn it into a career grinding 90 mans on FTP. Black Friday hit and I transitioned to live cash for 5-6 months. Met Jdawg and eventually got roped into the Merge Super Turbo grind. Played supers on Merge (along with some MTT's and random **** elsewhere) from November 2011 to mid-late 2012. Decided to hang up my poker shingle and re-start a new career in something more sustainable long term for family life.

I'm an employee benefits advisor now, basically, i help mid-size companies with their insurance offerings to employees. Career is fantastic and I'm earning about as much as I was at my poker peak (read: $100/hour).

I've had an itch to play more over the last 5-6 months and have been game hopping pretty regularly (MTTs, NLHE Cash, PLO Cash and back to MTTs and SNGs).

Making this thread basically just to chart my progress as I grind through low-mid stakes MTTs and SNGs in the US as a super part time player (3-4 nights a week).

Most of my volume will be on Ignition for the time being although I may add ACR if I can start getting some Sunday grinds in. I'm playing mainly $3-10 MTT's and $3-7 SNGs to fill volume.

I should be updating weekly or so for anyone who cares to follow, but really, this is more for me than anything else . About to fire up a session, good luck everyone!

I should add that I don't really have a monetary goal behind my grind, just to enjoy myself and be a winning player. With that said, I wouldn't be sad at all if I could fund a decent WSOP trip for 2020 off my currently tiny roll without having to pull any away from any "real life money".

Nothing too exciting the last couple of days. Played 2 small sessions. Managed a 3rd tonight in one of my smaller tourneys $7 $1k GTD Turbo KO.

Think I picked up like 19 bounties, was CL from pre-ante until around the bubble when I lost a flip or two.

Shipped a small satellite for like $56 (not enough players to get a $82 ticket) as well which was a good bonus as without cashing the $7 $1k GTD Turbo KO I'd have been down a bit. Up about $160 since I started the blog, nothing spectacular but solid for the BR. Need a solid bink or two this month or next so I can start playing some real stakes without as much risk of busto.

Hopefully find some run good around the time I use this $75 ticket I sattied up from a freeroll for the BDPO7 Mini Main Event.

Haven't been playing much live lately, hard to find the time with a 2 and a half year old and another on the way, with a real job that's relatively demanding.

I do have two clients that play that I hook up with for some $1/2 sessions every few months at Grand Victoria in Elgin but nothing terribly exciting.

Not too much going on pokerwise. Pretty meh session thus far tonight. One MTT left on ACR (threw $100 on there). $3.30 $500 GTD, currently have a 2x chip lead just inside the money sitting on 90bb...Hopefully hero the session...think I need 1st to get ahead on the day, 2nd gets me to about even, ugh.

Excited for work at the moment, finally feel like I'm able to breathe again for the first time since October. Should hopefully have 2-3 months to coast and then it starts getting nuts again.

Took down third. Man those final tables are slow as **** compared to what I'm used to on Ignition. I liked it but damn it takes forever...

Not too much going on lately in poker, busy week of work so only played a mini session on Monday and a little on Wednesday. Running about even.

Decent grind for me today, not compared to most tourney grinders on Sunday by any means, but may be a few more hours. Shipped the Hundredaire maker on Ignition to keep me even there on the day. Currently deep in two tourneys on ACR. 14/36 in the same $500 GTD I took third in earlier in the week. 2/10 in the $5 2k GTD.

Will likely update Tuesday before I start my session with the latest graphs etc.

Well that was fun. Unfortunately busted 5th in the $2k so nothing terribly exciting there (AA<JT on FT bubble for massive CL, instead came in 7/9).

I did improve upon Wednesday's result in this little $3 $500 GTD though.



Overall a solid day I believe. +$170 or so on ACR, about even on Ignition. Oh, winning hand 45bb deep...KK>73o on K76 in a 4 bet pot...

Back on the grind for this evening starting in a few minutes. Thinking Ignition only as I'm too tired for another 2-3AM night on ACR.

Hey All-

Not too much to update. Played a short session on Tuesday and nothing since. Was down about $45 on the session, a few min cashes, no final tables. Added up to $20 non-turbo MTTs on Ignition to the mix.

Big grind upcoming on Sunday starting around noon CST including the BDPO7 mini-main event on Ignition (sattied). I'll be loading basically every
$5-20 on Ignition and $2-10 on ACR from noon to 8 PM.

Stopped regging early as I just wasn't feeling it about half way into my schedule. That said I did decide to shot take the $162 $107k GTD today as I bubble busted a satty AA<AK and figured it was worth a single bullet this one time and was prepared to reload the missing $162 to the BR if necessary.

Anyways, presently have two tourneys remaining just inside the money. $162 107k GTD and $82 Mini Main Event. Min cash put me up $150 something on the day. Run good ITM one time plz

Update 98ss > 77 bvb...now 1 of 15 after AT > 22 vs shorty

Currently 3/5. I guess I picked the right day and tourney to shot-take. Guaranteed $6,135 at the moment. Not a bad bankroll boost. Hopefully let the shorty busto, get my guaranteed $8.5k and start catching some heat, been pretty card dead most of the final table.

AQ<77 against the shorty. Then he doubled through the big stack when i made a sick sick fold with AQo 13bb eff (he hit a one outer with QQ vs KK).

And done. Sadly my rivered two pair brought in villains gut shot heads up. We were about even stacks, was planning to bluff catch a river jam anyways, just didn't know he got there drawing to the low gut shot that backdoored a different direction.

All good, can't be disappointed with a $14,724 score, biggest ever hands down.

Haha yeah pretty sick. Just put in the withdrawal request for a chunk of it. Likely move up stakes some but currently thinking about what makes the most sense.
