Can't deny that. Haha. Thanks bro. Yeah you can never really get rid of the degen virus once you are afflicted. For me, it's just about maintenance and keeping it under control, a lil degen can be ok or even beneficial. I wouldn't be playing the biggest plo games I can find on the apps if I wasn't a lil degen . And so far its turned out to be a great decision. I'm going to win enough money to buy a house within the next few months, calling in it now.

Edit: also its more like 65k after all the upgrades and FSD. But it's an investment! Lol. Only half joking. Tesla model 3 holds it value better than any other car on the market right now, if i am not mistaken. And Elon Musk says my car will be worth more when FSD gets perfected than what I paid for it now. There will be a huge demand for FSD cars once it's implemented. They'll need a **** ton for robo-taxis and robo-ubers. Sounds crazy but his logic makes sense to me. I think autonomous driving cars are going to be huge in the next years. And in big daddy Elon I trust.
So as you can see, it's just a shrewd investment, on my part. :P

I like traveling but I like USA too. Probably going to aim for a 50/50. Spend half the time here and roll around in my tesla and rest of the time traveling. First stop is to come see you in Mexico when im able to start traveling again!

Haha expensive but def a sweet car. Idk much about tesla's, are any issues that come up with maintenance covered for awhile? Hope they gave you a 0% loan or something so you didn't have to fork over a big chunk of your bankroll.

How much do you worry about being cheated on the apps? I've won a ton on them but I mostly stick to the midstakes since the opportunity to get cheated out of huge sums seems ever present the higher you go. Especially with 4/5 card plo where card sharing is a bigger issue.

House/investment property wouldn't be a bad idea for a degen tbh. Forces some savings for your future that is less liquid and harder to access if a downswing sends you into chase mode.

Even mike sexton who blew millions on sports says to purchase a house for yourself and have it paid off. You can always rent it out while you go traveling but you still have that property for when your older.

Hey Quad, did you also play/remember the APT Iron Man Challenge in December of 2013? It broke the Guiness World record for the longest uninterrupted poker tournament (I lasted 36h myself).

Throwing down 25k financing the rest. I can afford it. Bankroll approaching 200k. And I recently paid off all the money I owed my ex backer (degened his money off at bj I was paying him 1k+ (but 1k minimum) per month for the last year but he's all paid off now. And my monthly car payment with insurance will be less than 1k. So his monthly payment will go to elon now and it won't affect my lifestyle or bankroll in the slightest.

Btw I know it was a really scummy thing to degen a backers money but I came clean to him back when it happened and we worked it out. And now he's all paid off. And you can not find 1 person in this entire world that will tell you i owe them money now. Feels good.

I agree NLH can suck a dik espeically NLH cash. I really only enjoy short handed short stacked NLH towards the end of the tournament. PLO tournaments are ****** awesome.

Does anybody else ever feel like they just want to quit while they’re ahead? I took like almost 2 weeks off. Not because I was losing or tilted or anything. Actually quite the opposite. I was on a massive upswing. And then I got this feeling like I didn’t want to lose any of it back so I just didn’t play for 2 weeks.

Then the last 2 days I forced myself to play and lost 10k and now I feel like I never want to play poker again. I’ve gone through phases like this before so I’m sure it will pass but idk. I feel like I really don’t love poker anymore. I just do it because it’s the best way I know how to make money.

I’ve been playing for so long now.. almost 15 years
Idk how guys who have been grinding for as long as I have have the motivation and passion for the game to grind day in and day out for a decade or longer. Especially the ones who are financially secure. When I was struggling I felt so motivated. But now that I feel a little bit of security it’s really a struggle to find the motivation.

Maybe I just need to move to Texas or Florida and start playing live. Live is a lot more fun for me... or maybe I just need to start studying e-commerce or some **** and I find a new hobby that I enjoy grinding. Idk either way I’m going to be taking a break again until I feel at least a little bit of the passion return. Forcing it is no bueno in my opinion.

Besides that I’ve just been riding around town in my new Tesla and going to the gym. That’s a new hobby that I actually feel passion for. I’m starting to get addicted to the results I’m getting in the gym. So much so, that I joined a second gym a couple weeks ago that is 24/7, so that I could start going 2x per day. My routine right now is to go to my normal gym a few hours after waking up for 1-1.5 hours and then go to the 2nd gym at around midnight for 1-1.5 hours.

I’m starting to put on a little muscle but still have a long way to go. I’ve doubled all of my 1 set max reps basically on every lift. But that’s not saying much because I’ve been a skinny lil nerd my entire life lol. For example my max in bench when I first started working out was about 90lbs (lol). And now it’s about 185lbs. So I’m making good progress but still a long way to go.

I’ve also been in a good routine with meditation. I’m on about a 2 week consecutive days streak. Which is the longest I’ve done this year by a decent margin. So I’m going to keep that going. Those are my two keystone habits right now. They are non-negotiable. Everything else, including poker, is going to be a feel play.

sounds like a lack of poker confidence from realizing you were running good and it had to end, maybe? I would suggest just moving down a few stakes, get the feeling of crushing your competition again, and I would be very surprised if you didn't feel comfy hoping back in your normal games. good luck, you ol' buff Danny Devito
