So I think I had a premonition about quitting ahead because I decided to start playing again and I've been getting ****ed by variance ever since. -20K in the last week. Yesterday was the worst, -11K yesterday alone at 5/T 5c PLO, was involved in a 9k pot, 9500 pot, and 12k pot and lost them all. The last hand I played before I quit I open TT985ds in the CU. B calls with 6k stack to start the hand, I have him covered. Sb fold, BB 3b pots, I call and B calls.

Flop 467ss. I have spades so i flop the nuts with the super redraw. BB checks and I check. B pots it, BB folds, I 3b and he 4b pots it, I jam and he calls for the little bit he has behind. He has 47758 no spades. So we have same made straight and I have half the deck to win, 1/4th the deck to lose, and the rest is a chop. River is of course 5. I quit after. Variance is a ***** in 5c, when you lose literally every big pot you are involved in for a week straight it can be quite brutal. Luckily these games are insanely soft considering the stakes and there's a lot of dead money, so even though this has been one of the worst weeks ever in terms of variance in my poker career, I'm only stuck 20k.

Not the end of the world.

But after buying a tesla and going on this downswing and giving 5k to family to help them in times of need, my bankroll is looking much worse than it was just a few weeks ago. So i decided to come up with a new gameplan.

I will move down stakes until I rebuild a decent portion of the roll. It would be irresponsible to play 5/T in these insane high variance games with the current roll. I've also been talking with a friend that is a legit crusher. Not a mini crusher, like myself, but a legit crusher. He plays 100/200 PLO on GG and plays the same games as me on Pokerbros. His advice is to download a HUD and start playing pokerbros on PC with a HUD and start going over hands after every session.

So that's my new gameplan. I'm taking a few days off from the online grind but when i return it will be in the 2/4 and 3/6 plo streets on PC (I've been playing on Ipad mostly) with a HUD running and will start reviewing hands and looking for leaks. I said that I would move down stakes last update I believe but this time it's legit, bankroll was still a lot better off last update.

I lost a bunch since last update and also bet a lot on sports. I found the Lakers were -180 to win the NBA championship so I hammered that. At -180 Lakers have to win the championship 64 out of 100 times in 100 simulations for me to break even. This is insane value imo. The nuggets are the weakest team to make the conference finals in my lifetime, at least the last 20+ years. I give them near 0% chance of winning this series barring injuries.

If that is the case, then the Lakers win much more than 64 out of 100 simulations in the Finals vs either the Heat or the Celtics. Not only do they have the best player remaining in the playoffs. They have the second best player remaining (AD). I put the odds at closer to 80% than 64%. So I had to hammer it. My bankroll will either be much healthier or much more worse off after this NBA season is over. I just have to fade a major injury to the Lakers imo. But either way, I think I got good value and made a smart decision. They're playing the Nuggets and then either the 3 seed or 5 seed from the East. This is the easiest path to a Championship that I can remember seeing since the Lakers beat the Kings in 01 and got to play the Nets in the Finals.

Also the card room near me just reopened yesterday so I went tonight and played some 2/5 nlhe. The game sucked major donkey dick but I ran hot and live poker so ridiculously soft that I won 2k in a few hours somehow in an AIDS game. I found out they're spreading a 2/5 PLO game tomorrow (Thursday) at 6PM, so I'll probably go play that as well. The live PLO games are so much better than the NLHE around here. The rich locals with lots of money to blow are much more likely to show up for the PLO games than the NLHE games. It's nice playing live again though. Get to drink and socialize and don't have to use my brain at all and still make money. Nice change of pace. So I'll probably start playing again a few times a week, mostly when the PLO runs.

Yeah it was 5 digits lol. Looks like I got it in good though. 2 days ago it was -180. I just checked after the lakers-nuggets game 1 and the line has moved all the way to -280.

If line keeps moving in this direction by the time the finals starts i might have an opportunity to bet the East if they're a big enough underdog and be guaranteed profits no matter who wins.

Not sure if i would do that or let it ride though. These Lakers look destined to be NBA champs barring injury *knocks on wood*

I have quit poker for the time being because I wanna focus on training (swimming, cycling, running walking, diet, calisthenics). I find that's more fun. And going out to nightclubs sober and dancing and having girls hit on me. I might start poker back up playing fri and saturdays live cash since wednesday and thrusday nightlife is pretty sweet. Online poker I might play tournaments once a week maybe.

I'm in northern California and play whatever the biggest game running is. Usually that's 5/5 or 5/10 PLO. Occasionally nlhe as well. Same stakes.

I ended up winning 8k.

I'm thinking about throwing 4-5k down on Trump +180. Someone talk me out of it? Trump was +105 a little over a month ago. What caused the odds to flip so significantly? I don't doubt that he's an underdog. But +180 seems like delicious value, that i just can't pass up. I think +105 is much much closer to the true odds than +180.

I hit the Heat pretty hard in the Bucks and Celtics series. They ended up going 15-5 ATS in the playoffs. Total cash cow, Wish I was on them in the Pacers series too.

So I moved to Houston. Live plo is amazing here but grinding mostly online. Got a sweet condo here in a high rise. In a good routine. Working out and meditating daily. Pulling more girls than I ever have by a considerable margin. BR is at ATH by a considerable margin. Everything is on the upswing and I can't complain.

All good still. BR dangerously close to a milly. Won the prime poker open at prime social in Houston, TX the monday before last Monday. Then won the monthly milly on Bovada this past Sunday. My biggest ever cash before last week was $40Kish. Now I’ve had two six figure scores in a 6 day span. Unreal heater right now.
