I'll be at Walkerhill for APPT. Skipping the main though. Just gonna play Saturday/Sunday. There's a couple neat tournaments, and I really want to play that flipout xD

They were never really good at updating their social media, but its much better now than in the past. I do see your May 21st hit on their webpage.

I mean RIO or cardrunners probably as content. PLO MTT or anything MTT outside of NLHE is rare. Really the best way to get experience and learn is just playing. Stars is pumping the site with tons of micro **** too, so you can learn cheaply.

June so far update:

NotLikeThis sums it up lolol. I'm updating after my -41 buyin session, so I MIGHT BE A LITTLE SALTY.

Well we didn't win money in June. Considering I profit split on june 3rd, diving 2k into makeup over a small amount of poker isn't ideal. Plenty of pros to take away from it though

1) I think I've stopped tilting
2) I think I'm playing a lot better and got better as the weekend progressed.

I've noticed a lot of regs are making some exploitable mistakes over my small sample. Don't really want to dive too much into it. It's many bvb play.

Also, I got a ton of volume in this weekend. I took the week off to "de-tilt". Then I played a $22 zoom turbo friday night, was dissatisfied with how someone played a hand, and threw a comb at my TV. a tiny plastic comb. Anyways, this was the result:

So that sorta brought me back to reality. Always need to hit a low before you move back out of your mental slump. Anyways since I went full goofball, I had to purchase this for 260,000Won:

Kinda just walked into the department store, looked at a few, and was like "k this one." Tried to look on gmarket (Korean amazon, but super poopy) and couldn't find much cheap stuff. Also I have no idea what the Korean craigslist is to find someone selling a cheap one. I walked around my area, but most stores didn't have a lot of selection.

Pretty sure I had life goals this month too:
Quote:
1. Start learning Korean
2. Take weight loss seriously. Eat healthy (Keto diet)
3. NO FAST FOOD EVER.
4. 1.5k spins
5. 55 cEV
1. Well the month isn't over ^_^. Uhh I went to the book store to find books so I could book learn, but didn't find any. Anyways gotta start this.
2. This I've smashed. Been eating very healthy, with 1 exception (I'll explain later in the post). I stopped Keto this weekend. I talked to my bff in medschool, and he told me how toxic Keto is on your body. It's very effective for weightloss, but does damage to you in a few ways. Also, it makes me moody and easy to rage (probably why I've been a tilt monkey lately). Once he told me it effects my mood I snap decided to quit. Would rather lose weight slowly and eat carbs then rage and break ****. Anyways just gonna stick to calorie restriction and eating clean.
3. Haven't had fast food. easy one fortunately.
4. 534 games so far. Can def get this still.
5. 31cEV losing every game? prob can still achieve it too.

Well Thursday night was interesting. Coworkers wanted to go out to a chicken restaurant. My English coworkers skipped out, so I was the only Foreigner who ended up going (initially). So after work I put on my backpack and head over with them. They ordered fried chicken so i initially declined any food. Just chose to hang out considering I probably woulda just wanted netflix, jerked off, and passed out if I stayed home.

Anyways I had my first few shots of Soju and Beers mixed with Soju. Given the factors that I'm not eating a lot and had an empty stomach AND don't drink often, I started to get pretty buzzed quickly. One thing I learned while in Korea is that Korean's don't fvck around when it comes to drinking.

One of my foreign co-workers who works for the same company but different school ended up coming. About 6 of us were left at the chicken restaurant when we decided it was time to hop over to bar. It was only midnight! Anyways we stumble to some Japanese bar. Highlight of that was my coworker asking what "**** faced" meant. Me and other whiteboi explain oh it's a term for being drunk. She then proceeds to try and naver it(Korean google) and we're like "NONONON DON'T."

Anyways I think this is where I started to trend into the deep-end. It's ~1:30am and well the obvious next stop is a Noraebang (Korean Karaoke bar). I'm not sure what all happened here. I remember singing Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Journey. I also remember some friendly "bonding" with some female coworkers. Nothing brag worthy nor did I get my dick wet (sorry, that wasn't the climax of the story unfortunately.)

Anyways, it's 3:30am, we work at 1:30pm, guess it's time to pack it up. Walk home, and casually drunk snapchat some friends. Then it hits me. I left my backpack with my laptop at the chicken restaurant. Major oh **** moment. I'm not 100%, but I think I drunk wandered back to the bar at 4:30am. I didn't have my glasses on and I couldn't see **** lol. I woke up super disappointed about forgetting my laptop.

Now if this was Canada or the US, the laptop is as good as gone. Fortunately its Korea and no one steals ****. Laptop was perfectly fine when I got it back when the bar opened up. Went from a sour to happy ending. I just had to teach still pretty drunk which wasn't too bad. I just trolled my students even harder then normal.

I don't think I did a good job telling that story, but I'm too lazy to figure out a more appealing way to write it. I know that's the type of stuff that's expected in my thread, so hopefully I deliver some KGG b4 i leave this country.

FINALLY:
APPT is this weekend! I am NOT playing the main. I'mma 2 bullet the 110,000won flipout (lol) and 2 bullet the 330,000won merge turbo (bounty?). Keeping 100% of myself because **** it yolo. Also gonna play cash. I think I'll budget like 1,500,000Won for the whole trip. Gonna meet some friends while in Seoul too.

Ok I think I'm done. Hopefully the next update is a victory in a liveament picture.

Good read man! I feel your pain about your monitor- I've been through several mouses and keyboards over the years, lol.

What size tv/monitor did u get? I'm hooked on ordering online. Not sure if you know about 11st.co.kr; ticketmonster.co.kr; or coupang.com Most stuff is delivered next day or max 3 days. Its really convenient. Not sure which phone provider or plan you use, but these sites also allow you to charge purchases to your phone bill with no interest. Thats another thing I love about the ROK, you can pay most bills at any ATM machine.

I read that on the flip out, everyone making the 2nd round is in the money. In the Bounty Trny, the bounty is 60k for each person knocked out.

Good luck man!

HAPPY CANADA DAY

Welp. It's July. Let's review the poopshow that was June!

Essentially, I losered money (went in makeup). I profit split like June 3rd for $300 (lol). Then I tanked super hard. I dove as deep as 1.8k in makeup. Currently I'm at ~850 in makeup. Here's my giraffes on the month:

It was a low volume month. I was tilting super hard and losing a lot, so I took a 1 week break. Then as I said before, broke the TV, quit keto, and bought a nice monitor. I plan on taking volume much more seriously in July. I really need to put in the effort and get some serious hands in.

With live poker, I played my first APPT! I participated in the 100,000Won flipout and the 300,000Won turbo bounty.

The flipout was over in a flash. I was in the first two flips. First one I had q6hh and I was all in vs 66,q2,kq and a total of 7 hearts shown face up. Essentially dead preflop.

The 2nd bullet I had KJHH and I was ****ing live. I had a live king, and only saw 1 dead heart. Only 1 dead jack. OFC flop comes a65 rainbow no hearts. dead on turn. Same asian whale won both bullets. Was pretty sad lol.

The 300,000 bounty went a little better. I made it to the second flight with 15bb and 4 bounties. However, it turned into a hyper. I ended up busting 22/123. 15 paid. dropped to 1bb, ran up to 7bb, then jammed q6dd on button, bb tankcalls with k7. board ran out kk54qxxhhx. Almost backdoored the flush I did pick up a 5th bounty, and broke even.

I won ~300 in cash, so poker wise I broke even. However I got slayed in blackjack, making it a losing trip.

Here's some wonderful chipstacks I made while trolling:

Saturday night I got to hang out with some good friends. While walking to a restaurant, I saw an interesting business name:

I'll dodge the obvious jokes, and just let you guys enjoy the beauty.

Anyways I think I'm done with live poker for the rest of my stay in Korea. 1/2 cash is boring AF. I run the table in terms of chatter and having fun. I am easily the best ambassador for poker. Everyone loves me. But $15 max rake is ******ed, so unless some surprise MTT pops up I'm done.

June goals:

Quote:
1. Start learning Korean
2. Take weight loss seriously. Eat healthy (Keto diet)
3. NO FAST FOOD EVER.
4. 1.5k spins
5. 55 cEV
1. I thought about it once. But we failed here.
2. Passed with flying colours. My diet is clean, and I'm very happy with what I've done so far. I've been serious about it and I'm seeing results.
3. Cleared this.
4. not even close. Played 698ish
5. had 45cEV on the month. Tough to hit 55 when you lose ~80buyins in 300 games.

2/5 sounds good to me.

Well it's July, and I'm at the tail end of my employment and life in Korea. It's pretty much a lock I don't renew my contract and move home in October. So I think July/August need to be my best months in poker. September/October will be riddled with real life stuff. I really need to excel now, if I want to consider giving professional poker a shot in 2017. I need results to back my decision up both personally and for my family to understand. I can't come at them with a **** cEV graph and a sub $20k earning year. Who the hell wants to live off $20k a year anyways.

Not really sure how much longer I'm going to give Spins. I lost a 200x on June 28th. That was my jackpot. That was my settler. That could have changed a lot. Regs rarely run +EV. I really just don't see EV ever being realized in this variant of poker. MTTs feel a lot more reliable. Especially the MTTs I was playing.

Anyways, Just spitballin my thoughts at the moment. I'll still be putting in spin volume, but I just don't see it's viability while watching everyone I know run -EV in this game. Everyones a Slanksy millionaire but busto in real $.

I'll create a July goals my next post. Don't know what I want to do just yet. I know I'm going to be putting in MTT volume From July 22nd-August 23rd. My work schedule changes and it'll be much easier to get MTT volume in.

Mine as well update while I'm 1 tabling the $11 mini sunday starter

Well I'm out of makeup. I played 4 mtt sessions this weekend. 2 winners, and 2 losers. the 2 winners resulted in profit splits. I'm assuming i'm not gonna breakeven on this last table, so I'm prepared to book my last session as a loss.

Results include:
1st 16.50 Omania NLO8
1st 33 freezeout
2nd 27 NLO8 hyper
6th 22 freezeout on party.

the party tourney made me sad. On FT i didn't run the purest, and busted out on a a9<109 with a ak10k10 runout -.- Really wanted to win my first ever party tourney. Not gonna post my Party username. I'd rather keep it semi-secret.

Anyways so far the first weekend of the month has been really good to me. Yet again I've dug out of 2k+ makeup. Now I just need to not dive into makeup again and I could have a profitable month.

I'll probably play spins during the week, and just MTT the **** out of the weekends. UFC 200 is this coming weekend. Oh boy am I pumped. Def won't be playing during that.

Yeah I don't think I'll have any goals for July. Just focus on wonnering maniez and have fun.

It's Monday morning, and I won a tournament yesterday. So that means I'm not too salty to post an update! #ResultsOrientedUpdates

We'll start with my favorite hobby, UFC. Pretty solid weekend overall in terms of fight. My boy Alvarez won by ko. That was ****ing awesome. JJ vs Gadehla was ok. UFC 200 was pretty good. maybe give it 8/10? The prelims were better than the main card imo. Sucks Nunes won. She has the personality of a cardboard box and she is unmarketable. The WMMA division made me lose all my Parlays, otherwise i was 10-2 on fight picks.

In terms of poker, I had my worst and best MTT sessions of the week back to back.

(I did hardbubble that big33. Life's not fair)

Went from a $3.75 cash session to 1500 day. Obviously wasn't too happy about that. I've been putting in a ton of volume in MTTs. I just haven't wanted to play spins. I register an MTT session from 10pm-12am, then play it out on weekdays. On weekends I wake up early, register for 2-3 hours, then stop. Then I take a break, come back and register for the night. Didn't play in the morning Sunday because UFC200 ofc. Haven't made much since the start of the month. Don't think I've ran too well, but of course every mtt player thinks they run bad. I'm probably running ~expectation who knows.

On sunday I had:
1st 16.50 PSKO Hyper
4th 27 NLO8 Hyper
6th 22 FO on party

Not sure when or if I'll play spins this month. I really just haven't felt like it. Spins is one of those variants I find that if you don't dedicate yourself mentally, you're just gonna punt. I'm not worried about getting "spin volume" if I'm averaging more than 1 mtt session a day. We'll see how I'm feeling this week. Maybe I'll load up some tables.

Life is based Korea is still ight. It's almost 'Summer Intensive' time. That means my schedule changes from 2pm-10pm to 10am-6pm. I prefer this schedule for MTT grinding. It's peak morning schedule time imo. Also I can register and then sleep at a normal hour. I'm gonna have to work more during this time, but it's whatever. It's for like two weeks then it's done. Then I get a virtual week off (Day off Monday, Work tuesday, Wed/Thurs/Fri off). I have no intentions on really "balancing" my life. All I want to do atm is play poker. If I don't get my **** together and win some money, this can't be a viable option for me in the future. I need a big July and a big August.

My date for leaving is essentially official. October 21st is my last workday. I'll leave probably October 23rd (Sunday). I'll be trekking across Canada before I arrive home. Going to be visiting family and friends along the way. My current life debate is whether I'm booking flights from places like Vancouver to Regina, renting a car, or taking a bus.

Pros of Flying:
- Easiest
- Quickest
- Stress Free
Cons of Flying:
- Most expense

Pros of Driving:
- Driving is nice
- I haven't drove in a year
- Get to see some beautiful sites
Cons of Driving:
- Haven't driven in a year
- Insurance will prob be expensive
- Probably boring after a while. Canada's ****ing big. I'd be going from Van City to London Ontario. That's ****ing far.

Pros of Busing:
- Cheap
Cons of Busing:
- Risk of getting my head cut off (google it, it happened)
- It's smelly
- Boring

After writing out the pros/cons, moneys not that big a deal. Probably just gonna fly. I sorta just want to drive tho. Opinions would be great.

I'm 14 weeks from departure. Probably not the best to be already thinking about leaving, but it is what it is. Vamos.

The nothing really cool to report but update, update.

I've ran pretty horrible in high equity spots this week. Bunch of big hands losing, all that jazz. Oh well. Here's my basic successes tho:

2nd 22 party
2nd 22 party
3rd 11r plo
5th 27
7th 22 turbo
7th 22 party

Party seems to be paying off dividends. I only play fun players on the FT it seems. Enjoying the site. Wish I ran as good to the FT on 888. Can't catch a break on that site atm. Oh well.

Made 3 profit splits so far this month. Nice to make money. The night schedule is some serious low variance grinding. Really am enjoying it. A lot moreso than the spins. I've only played like 60-70 spins this month. I just can't play them. My hearts not in it. Spins are a game that demand attention or you're punting $$$$. Unsure where I stand there. I feel like they improved my play, especially when it comes to blinds and BB defense.

Fingers crossed next week I can stop sucking and close a tournament. Haven't been getting salty over losses, which is nice. I'm sort of approaching the I don't care range. Still 2+ weeks to do something special in July.

I feel you with the spins bro, too much variance and I hate to admit it but running under ev everyday took its toll on me. (Mental game issues ) after playing 4500 and having a chip eV of just under 50 and making rb but no real money I though enough is enough. I decided to take a break and go back to basics I signed up for bovada and have been playing husngs. I suggest you look onto it when you are back in canada bro, $25 matches are easier than $5 spins lol. Glgl you are a champion !!

I tried to see if I could play on Loldog with my Canadian info, but it was a no-go . Yeah I've just been diversifying my MTT portfolio, playing on stars/party/888 and might add winning poker network to it. iPoker doesn't offer much for tournaments I find, so I'll prob skip them.

It just doesn't feel like spins are all that special. Everyone rags about "oh sick cEV" but how often do you ever run at EV. Every reg you look at runs -ev unless they bink a multiplier. I'm not trying to say their unprofitable, I just think MTTs are probably a better avenue still.

I dunno if I could get into HUSNG's. I'm not one to quit when losing, and I know it's harder to quit when it comes to HUSNG's when losing lol.

Bored at work, so I'mma post some freerolls.

I've danced around this idea for a bit. But I think I've decided on some good health ones. Obviously it'll go off honor system.

Freeroll #1:
25 Hours of basketball by August 21st. I'm very preliminary into this. It's mainly just me shooting around and random Korean children jumping in and asking me to play. FWIW I've only been playing again for the last two days. I'm pretty out of shape.

Freeroll #2:
Absolutely no fast food until August 21st. What this includes: McDonalds, BurgerKing and such. Any sort of junk food like cookies, chips, cake, or soda. I need to include some restaurant food, but obviously it'd have to be deemed "healthy". I'd like to ask that things like triangle kimbap and such not be included in this. It's relatively good for you.

You can only pick one. Do you challenge my eating habits? or my ability to do physical activity. First two to pick for each freeroll are eligible. I can fail both freerolls. If I fail a freeroll, I'll give $25 to your desired location (Stars,Paypal,Canadian Etransfer/Party/888). Only those 5. Not gonna do skrill or something I don't have.

Welp, this'll be fun. Nothing like some extra motivation to live a cleaner life. Ball is life. I'll give a poker update this weekend. Haven't played much to begin with anyways. Actually I haven't really played at all. Oh well breaks are good.

Alright Sunday Update time.

First off freerolls:

Freeroll #1: 6/25 hours played so far. I'm trying to crush this goal. I'm feeling soooo motivated for this. Part of me wants to really surprise people with a new "look" when I return, and I got ~3 months to make some slick gains. Holy I'm out of shape though. I'm the big man around, but I can't rebound for **** after an hour or so because I'm too exhausted. Just motivates me more to keep hustling. I've found I call out a ton too. That professiona level halo is leaking.

Freeroll #2: Going well so far. The only problem is I ran out of food. I didn't go grocery shopping on Saturday because I worked and decided a poker session was necessary. The Lotte Mart near my house is closed on the 2nd/4th sunday of every month. Livin off canned tuna till tomorrow

Poker was non-existent. I played maybe 100 spins and 1 longish mtt session. MTT sesh had a ton of potential, but sooo many tourneys fizzled out. Cashed like 40% of my mtts and broke even

Gonna try and find a healthy balance for bball and poker. It'll be easier once I'm out of my intensive period teaching, but for now I'll probably just alternate days. I am worried my ankles will get broken sooner or later. I'm just in running shoes atm and I feel them giving out when I try to stop quickly. May God have mercy.
