December Goal Completed. Korea inbound.

Let's start with some graphs:

MTTs Stars/888/Party:

MTTs GGNetwork:

All in or Fold GGNetwork:

Cash (100NL/200NL/400NL) GGNetwork:

So with a +9837 MTTs and +12708 on GGNetwork, we booked a $22,545 Month

The goal was $20,000, so we cleared it! TBH it woulda just been an average month if it wasn't for the cash on GG. That was the xfactor lol.

And with a 22k+ month, I've officially cleared 100k+ in 8 months, and can book a 6 figure salary my first year of poker I'm going to keep this particular update brief, and make my year end the bulk one with a much more detailed. I'll do it within the next 24 hours, I'm off to start planning Korea

First off, Happy New Year! We've hit the 2 year anniversary of my PG&C. While I write this post, I'll be listening to "The Life of Pablo" by Kanye because it was the album I listened to the most while in Korea. Ultralight Beam just sets me off every time and I get pretty nostalgic. The memories just flow in. 2017 was a pretty surreal year. I don't think I could have predicted poker to go the route it did. Sitting here and reflecting is pretty moving. I don't see myself as much of an emotional person, but I'll be candid when I say my eyes are a little watery at the moment.

Quote:
I think 2017 could be the most important year in my life. My success directly correlates with my effort I put in.
Well I wasn't wrong. My success was a direct correlate to my effort. 2017 was indeed the most important year in my life. I decided I wanted to turn my passions into a career. I had no real idea how it was going to go. For the first 3 months, it didn't look promising either. I was going to completely gloss over my struggle period. When I initially started writing this yesterday (1st) I had just a brief summary. But I think it’d be best if I really detailed my struggles. I was in about 3k or 4k of makeup. To me, this was a lot. It was entirely due to MTT punting too. I was going for home-run swings in MTTs, and never getting them. It was a toxic mindset. However, grinding spins wasn’t going to bad. 15s we’re going ok, and I thought I was beating the 30s. February I continued to crush EV wise, but wasn’t making any $$. I was two months into my professional career, and I had no money to show for it.

Quote:
If I don't at the very least end makeup in March, I'm really not sure what I should be expecting from the rest of the year.
This was from my February Update. I feel like I thought March would be my breakout month. Holy **** was I wrong. At this point, I was already trying to leave the stable. I was receiving no solid coaching. There was no contact with management. I felt isolated and had no idea what was wrong with my game or how I could improve. I was only at around $1000 makeup and was trying to buy out. But I could never get word with my backers, so I just trooped through hoping I could clear it and move on. And then I took what was probably the most devastating downswing. I was losing every game. I was getting destroyed. I had a horrible cEV. Within a span of 3 weeks I was down ~160-170 buyins at the $30s. I was in over my head with make-up. I could ****ing see sunlight/the end of the tunnel, and I got buried alive.
I didn’t know what to do. I was approaching 3 months of my professional career, and I had nothing to show for it. I don’t want to say I wanted to quit. I knew I had a full year. But I was genuinely concerned that I just wasn’t going to be able to do it. Spins just didn’t feel viable anymore. Rakeback was going to die, I wasn’t getting the coaching I should have been getting, and I had no solution. So I took a 2 week break. Fortunately, there was a charity Halo tournament coming up, and I was able to just completely remove poker from my mind. I cleared my head and was able to take a step back and re-evaluate. I decided once April started, I would quit spins and focus purely on MTTs. But this time, I’d play the overnight schedule. I always liked it for its smaller player pools and softer fields. I had no problems with becoming an overnight worker because I didn’t have any obligations to regular sleep times. I also knew it’d greatly benefit the stream. Streaming during the day is awful. You need to compete with established names and it is far more competitive for growth. I knew I could grow at a much faster rate.
And it turned out one of the best decisions I could have ever made in my poker career. I had a huge April for views and poker results. My stable finally fell apart, and I got to walk away from over 5.5k in makeup. For those wondering, I did not feel obligated to pay 100% of it. I was getting scammed on their end. They were not providing their half of the deal. I reached out to Usman repeatedly to make a deal, but never got a response. So I just sent my bankroll to 307th (who was owed ~20k+ in coaching fees from Usman) and was done with it.

I kept my own action during SCOOP, but eventually made what I feel was my best decision to date, joining team 651. I don’t think I’d see anywhere near the success I’ve had if I didn’t join 651. They have been the x factor on what made me from marginal to great. Jack and Jason are truly just end bosses in all senses of the term. They’ve been incredible role models and mentors. I’ve realized the value of working on myself outside of the felt as well as on it. Rudi is the glue that really keeps everything together. He makes it the well-oiled machine it is. He’s also a total G. Scott’s ok I guess.

I continued to grow through June and July. As my confidence grew, I decided to take a shot at Vegas and my first WSOP. I played my biggest buyin at the time, a $1650. I’m embarrassed to admit I got pretty drunk playing 1/3 at the Wynn the night before with Kevin Martin and Christaborg (of which I won a decent amount) and slept in. I missed the first 3 levels lmfao. Hey, at least I got some good sleep. I proceeded to make Day 2, and land a decent cash. Then I played my first ever WSOP. It wasn’t an easy start either. It began with the legendary Will Kassouf at my table, proceeded by Sorel Mizzi left sitting me after late regging. But I grinded and played my A+ game. Will was KO’d and I thought that’d be the biggest personality I’d play with. Then to my surprise, Phil Hellmuth sits. Now honestly, this was surreal. You’ve watched this guy on TV for years. You’ve dreamt of this moment. I even had a chance of KO’ing him! I grinded through and made my second consecutive day 2. I almost tasted the day3, but busted during the final level for a solid result again. July became my first 10k+ month. August I experienced my first 10k+ week, quickly followed by my first 10k+ day. October I took my first five figure score with my 3rd at Reno. November and December I produced a 0 downswing run, with an 18 day profiting session streak, and probably going 50-7 for wins to losses in days.

Poker has only been half the battle. Let’s not forget my stream dream. I’m at the beginning of that huge exponential uptick I always talked about. The last few months I’ve had wild growth. I’ve gone from averaging 100-150 to 250-300+ just casually, 500-700+ whenever I’m deep in something significant. I’ve been getting a ton of subscriptions and my fan base is growing. The twitch community has been incredibly supportive, both viewers and fellow streamers. I’d just like to say how cool/weird it is that Lex Fvcking Veldhuis knows my name. Like that hasn’t worn off in terms of awe. He’s always been someone I’ve looked up to when I was just a recreational. I don’t really know how to describe the feeling completely. I always wanted to get to the point where your idols become your peers and rivals. But to actually be achieving that? Bloody hell. To my loyal viewers. There’s too many to just list, but you know who you are. Thank you. The ones who stop by the moment the stream starts. The ones who lurk and never say a word, but show up every day. The ones that make the chat as toxic as possible. The ones who actually just chat. The ones who always want the best for me. The ones who cheer for my downfall. You’ve all contributed to my success. None of it is possible unless you show up. So thank you. I plan on continuing the trend. I’m not a twitch end boss yet. The train isn’t stopping here.

I want to review my End of 2016 post before going over 2017 results.

Quote:
I'm enjoying being an online personality, and I know I'm a perfect fit for it. I know I'll be a success if I put the hours in.
Well this was true. My success imo was due to my consistent grind and work ethic. I consistently streamed 5-6 days a week. I love that I can look back at my previous self, see my confidence, and see my success. It’s great to see things be fulfilled.

Quote:
Now, for the future. I plan on moving out of the 'rents house in February or March. I'll be figuring out the details in January. Whether I move to Montreal, Brantford, Toronto, or stay in London, I'll find out soon.
Well I didn’t move out until June, and I stayed in London lmao. I swear to God I’m emailing a realtor today about moving to Toronto. I’m a lazy **** who isn’t in a rush. But I’ll get it done. The initial move was me just realizing how comfortable I was at home and how I just needed to make the adult decision to move out.

Quote:
I also have goals I need to set. So I was unsure what benchmarks I should set for my first year of poker. I'd love input if people would like to add.

#1 - Profit 35,000CAD. I think this is a reasonable benchmark. It's not too high, but not too low. If I can't hit this in my first year, then it might not be for me. Years 2 and 3 if they happen will have much higher benchmarks. There's such a high opportunity cost with this profession. I give up all life-securities like pension, health care, etc. that a normal job has. I think this salary as a base is alright.
#2 - Reach the pinnacle of whatever I'm playing. Now I'm not looking to switch to cash or something. But I'm unsure about Spins atm. I crush 15s, but not doing well at 30s. TBH I might just be sweating variance too much. So whether I'm sticking with spins, or MTTs, I want to be one of the best. I want to be feared. I want people to sigh when they see me regged in their games. Maybe not NLHE tournaments, but O8 tournaments I think I can easily excel in. The regs all suck and I feel so much better than everyone else. It's laughable some of the people who make money in it.
#3 - A top5 biggest stream on twitch. I bleed personality. I genuinely feel like it's only a matter of time until I succeed at the streaming game. I know I'll as big as the stapler, the truck guy, and Doggie.
#4 - Reach my goal weight. I think I could be relatively health at 200 pounds. Atm i sit at 235. I mean people seem shocked when I tell them. I'm 6'3, so I don't really see myself being like 180 or something lol.
#1 – Well I destroyed that. I still think it was a realistic and fair goal. I do think my Year 2 goal will have to be scaled accordingly though.
#2 – I think I’m very close to achieving this. IMO, I’m at least a Top 10 reg during the night schedule. But IMO probably top5. There are some regs I know are better, and I’m getting a better idea as I begin to fire the high stakes stuff. I do think I’m starting to get a stronger reputation, but I don’t know if I’m as feared as I want. I still want regs to kick themselves in the heads every time they get out of line and I punish them. I want them to struggle to make decisions vs me. I want them to second guess simple decisions. I’m at the pinnacle of the night schedule IMO. I now fire whatever I want, which is a freedom I really enjoy. It’s kind of cool to just flick in $109s/$162s/$215s when I’ve gone my entire poker career without firing them. I think I’ve only played the Sunday Million once or twice lifetime.
#3 – Well I’m Top5 during the night schedule. So there’s that. However, I don’t think I’m at the elite level. If Tonka, Lex, and Staples are Tier 1, I’d say I’m Tier 2. Some consistency in 2018 will change that for me though.
#4 – lol. Well I can say I’ve made great life decisions since October. I’ve been eating clean, and began to work out. I started meditating, and began reading books. I’m late, but I’m investing in my health. I will try to continue that in 2018.

Let’s get to some graphs for the year now:

YTD MTTs on Stars/888/Party/WPN: (Disclaimer: YTD to me is April and onward, as that’s when I see myself as full time MTTs)

YTD MTTs on GGPoker:

YTD evBB Reg Speed:

YTD evBB Reg Speed 400bb+:

YTD evBB Graph:

Needless to say, we did well. So tallying up the last 9 months, We did around +43k across networks, roughly +27700 from live poker, and +38000 from GGPoker alone (This includes cash/AoF’s/tournament profits/staking in the site/me factoring in tournament tickets I’m given to promote). That brings us to a roughly $108,700USD upswing over a 9 month stretch. So I not only did 6 figures, I did it in USD, not just CAD. I almost 4x’d my initial goal for 2017. I really didn’t expect the success I’ve had. It’s obviously been easier to stay motivated/grind when all you do is win and print. Reflecting on the beginning of the year, I think it ended up being for the best I struggled early. I think if I started off crushing, I wouldn’t have appreciated the success as much and probably wouldn’t have grown the way I did. I needed to get humbled.
And with that we’ve reached the end of the review. I think I’ll give a couple goals/things I want for 2018, and wrap things up.

1st, I think I’m going to set the bar at $150,000USD Profit. I’m not going to be upset if I don’t hit this, but if I continue to put in the volume I’ve been doing with my new higher buyins, this does seem feasible.
2nd, I want that endboss status on twitch. At the moment, it’s Lex. He’s not someone who will be easily dethroned. If I can at least work myself into the conversation of “who is the best/top poker streamer” then that’s a win too.
3rd, I want to go on 4-5 trips. I’m already planning my trip to Korea and Japan in February. I’m also going to do RunItUp Reno at end of March. Of course, we’ll be doing the WSOP Main Event in July as well. Perhaps a trip to Europe should be another logical choice?
4th, I swear to God Patrick if you review this in January 2019 and you didn’t ****ing leave London at the very least I’m going to dropkick you. This is a note to future-self moreso than for you guys. Move. To. Toronto. Move to Montreal. Move to Vancouver. Just ****ing do something you PoS.
5th, Become the undeniable GOAT of the night schedule. Crush with $ earned. Crush with evBB. Prove that you are clearly king of the hill and it’s your schedule, everyone else just enjoys living in it.
6th, Live a healthier life. For God sakes please just do it. Stop being moderately obese for once in your life.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time for me to begin 2018. Let’s continue the upward trend, or at least burnout in a glorious fashion that’d make me proud too.

It's been fun watching you stream and mold into the player/streamer you are now! I remember when you first started streaming and I came in mostly to tell you I'm better at halo(which of course is true) but then i stayed for the show! Unreal how hard you are crushing and undeniably deserved. As I become more involved in real life(****ty i know..) my sleeping schedule has changed to a somewhat human like one and as a result i don't get in to watch your streams too often. It's hilarious how relative things get with results. By like the 14th I was already having a 13-14k month and was like "oh cool another crushing month incoming"

Surprise surprise, the heater had to "end" lol.

All sites (Minus GGPoker)

GGPoker

With rakeback/cash I still had a ~11k month which is neat-o. I pretty much spent the rest of the month being breakeven then finally entering a "downswing". I don't even want to call it that because of my ABI and it effectively being derived from bricking my bigger buyins (109 turbos etc). I have run like pretty big dog**** deep in some of my runs lately, but oh well the way she goes. The month started with a 6th in the 215 title fight on party for 6700, followed by a 3rd in the $109 Monday 6-max for about 4400. A bunch of standard scores afterwards, then the breakeven stretch struck. I will admit some of my sessions had some unnecessary punting/poor play. But a decent amount of it is just running below expectation. I felt like dog**** obv about my game, but a coaching sesh with Ryan boosted me up as I was playing pretty well in hindsight. I know a belong, I just gotta put in the hours.

Speaking of putting in hours, RIP volume for February. This time in 3 days I'm beginning my journey to Korea. I finally got around to booking the early stages of my trip, which include my first 2 weeks. I'm staying in Gangnam my first 4 days, then am off to Tokyo for 5 days. I decided I won't stream poker during it. I was debating buying a new laptop, but I just couldn't justify it. I'd spent like 2k+, have a heavy AF laptop, and only use it maximum 10 times lol. Instead, I think I'll try some IRL strimming and give that a go. I think I have wifi/data sorted for my trip, which was the bulk of the concern when figuring it out.

This'll be my first real break from poker since November 2016. To be honest this past month I've felt pretty burnt. It's been one hell of a grind, and I think I need to mentally step away for a bit. Anyways I've lost my train of thought so I'm outie. Trip report incoming. THE FOREIGNER RETURNS.

First, I'll apologize for stopping the updates. Laziness started it, but then after filing taxes for 2017, I realized it's prob not GTO to catalog my results as a Canadian. So I unfortunately made the decision to stop posting results updates.

A lots happened since. A wonderful vacation to Korea, a trip to Reno, a high roller deep run, a VERY successful charity stream, a DEEP run in the Partypoker Main with main stream coverage/battling with GOATS/TV Pro's I've looked up to for years, I moved to New Zealand to live in a streamhouse with some absolute lads, I went to Australia...

and now this:

Maybe someday I'll eventually update this. Life has been good I guess. It's been easy for me to get wrapped up in the nonsense mindsets that poker can bring.

Congrats on the score, insane. You played really well at that FT.

One thing I would like to ask you - a few weeks back on stream and you ignored it when several people bought you up on it at the time while you were live. You'd folded and a shorty went virtually all in and the BB was tanking and you being desperate for a ladder started spamming chat telling him he HAS to call as jammer was super wide and short.. does this not qualify as colluson? I couldn't believe what I was seeing from somehow streaming for hundreds of people. Maybe your silence on the subject means you know you were in the wrong and just the situation got the better of you - if you had said that then nothing more really needs to be said it was an innocent mistake but it seems as if you believe what you did was perfectly within the rules. I can't believe you'd have gotten away from that without as little as a warning, you are in a streamhouse with some of the most well known twitch grinders some of whom represent different sites.

So we’ve been barren with the updates, but I don’t think I could fade a 2018 year in review. We’ve grown a lot this year. We’ve had a lot of great experiences. We very easily topped 2017. Needless to say, our 2nd year as a poker player and streamer and pretty ****ing well. I’ll start at the beginning of the year where we left off.

I had a wonderful month in Korea. It was a much needed vacation. I basically went 13 months straight of grinding with very little time off. If I wasn’t streaming, I was grinding off stream. If I wasn’t grinding off stream, I was traveling to play a live series. I wasn’t taking any time off for myself. By the end of January I was completely over it. I do think that since I set a hard deadline for when I’d be done grinding, I was just waiting for the day to come and wasn’t about the grind. I wasn’t giving much emphasis towards my mental health. It just isn’t healthy to be on an insane grind non-stop.

It was great to return to Korea again. I really enjoyed my time teaching and living in Korea. If poker wasn’t on the horizon for me, I would have stayed and continued teaching. One of the first things I got to do was catch up with some old friends. (Seen below in the bobsled with me)

I met Ben and Avery through my days on *********** (Dogecoin pokersite). Ben gave a lot of pretty valuable advice at the beginning of my poker “career” as an amateur and aspiring pro. He himself was transitioning out of poker when we met, but he provided me with a lot of confidence and support throughout the beginning of my amateur days and very beginning of deciding whether to go pro or not. I haven’t really reflected on this too much, but now that I think about it I feel credit is due. Avery provided support and guidance when I first considered teaching English seriously as well. She helped legitimize it as a potential option. I might not have even taught English if it wasn’t for her, so thank you. The first few days were spent either catching up/hanging out with them or wandering out Gangnam district in Seoul.
The next part of my trip was meeting with one of my oldest buddies, a friend who went out to teach English around the same time I did. We took a 5 day trip to Tokyo. One piece of advice, would be if you ever visit Japan, make it extensive and specify a few places. There are so many wonderful things in Tokyo alone to do that even 5 days wasn’t enough to scratch the surface. I wouldn’t just spend 1-2 days in each city. I’d dissect and try to do as much as possible. Anyways, we happened to get there while they were on a National Holiday. We stayed in Ueno, which had plenty of fun stuff walking distance. While checking out the local park we stumbled upon a festival where I met this wonderful lad.

It ended up being a great opportunity to try a bunch of Japanese traditional food and witness some Japanese culture. The area had 5 major museums and a Zoo, so we had plenty to do on top of the festival. I feel like picture’s will do more justice than some explanations, so here we go:

When I got back to Korea, my friend went back to his home city. I did end up meeting with a fellow twitch streamer Ladpark. I really enjoyed my time with him. He picked me up from my place and we grinded at his house the 1st day we met. We probably hung out 3 times during my stay in Korea. I met his Fiance at the time (now wife), who was a wonderful person as well. She gave me a lamp her mother made, which now currently resides in my parent’s living room. They were very hospitable to me and I greatly appreciated it. Now for those of you that know what happened in November, it kind of broke my heart. I felt like we became pretty good friends.

One of the catalysts for us heading to Korea was because they were hosting the 2018 Olympics. We procrastinated the trip until the very last days, where we caught the Bronze Medal Men’s Hockey game. I wanted to attend the gold medal game, but Canada lost the Semi’s. So it was Canada vs the Czech Republic. It was a great game, as Canada would proceed to stomp them. Here’s some pictures from that day and some misc. photos from the trip overall.

The trip ended up getting cut short by a few days. During the trip AllInPav tweeted this:

Which was the catalyst for the streamhouse. Travis (DramaticDegen), Pav (AllInPav), Henri (Buehlero), and I began to form the StreamHouse. We started to hash things out on skype and eventually landed a beautiful place in Auckland. It was just north of downtown in Campbell’s Bay. We really did luck out on finding it. It had all the space we needed, at a relatively good price. I needed to head home early so I could get some medical exams done for my visa application. I had a lot on my plate before heading to New Zealand though. At the end of March I had RunItUp Reno, and the end of April was PartyPoker Millions Montreal. Reno was as always a great time. We didn’t bink anything like we did last time, but I enjoyed myself. I’ve made a good amount of friends through the series, and now it had become a must-play for me.

In between the two live trips I decided to hold a 24 hour Charity stream. It was something I’ve never done before. The cause was for Gamers Outreach, a charity I’d been supporting since my days as a Halo Player. Their GO-kart project (link here: https://gamersoutreach.org/our-progr...oject-go-kart/ ) is in my opinion such a wonderful idea. The gist of it is it’s a portable gaming station that meets safety and sanitation requirements for hospitals. The goal is to help kids de-stress from the troubles of being in a hospital, and let them be kids. It gives parents and friends the chance to play and engage with the patient. I sent my goal at one, but my true goal was to raise enough for two.

I actually have the total results and where the $ came from here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...ruE/edit#gid=0

I think I ended up rounding it off by a few hundred to make it an even $7000 after it was all send and done. The community was great with donations themselves. One of the more surprising donations was GirafGanger just GOAT’ing along and stopping by to donate $420. Top notch lad. The biggest success was me binking off the $82BB. I allowed people to stake me into MTTs, and 40% of the cashes proceeded to go to charity. I was trying to find the twitch clip of me winning, but I don’t think I can. I have the VOD saved on my computer at least though. It truly was a miracle run. I sunran from start to finish, basically knocking out everyone. I will say I was playing pretty lights out as well, so sunrun+reasonable play will always be a recipe for success. It was awesome to get to do something like this. I felt I was starting to hit reasonable success on my poker and twitch career, so using it as a platform to give back just made sense.

In secret, we only did this to build up good Karma for the next chapter of 2018, the PartyPoker Millions 5k 10mill. It’s always exciting to make a trip to Montreal. This time around, we got an incredible Airbnb with all 651 boys. Our first bullet into it went pretty subpar. Within an hour I was already around 10% start stack. I managed to chip up a little bit but my 1st attempt was a quick exit. Our 2nd flick went a little better than expected. We survived through day1, but day2 we exploded. We had a nice lad absolutely blast into me, and I bagged heaps. Day 3 was probably the best day of live poker in my life. Not because of the results or how I played, but what I got to do and who I got to play with. I basically spent the entire day battling with Antonio Esfandiari. Growing up watching people like Esfandiari religiously on TV, it was a surreal experience. Since he had heaps/effective CL, we were the first table on feature/stream. Getting to play on a real TV table with someone like him was a dream come true. I’ll proudly boast I beat him in Lodden Thinks. That was my Johnny Chan moment. We got moved and our table broke, but we found each other again on another feature table. I didn’t realize initially, but as we continued to play I realized I was a part of an insane line-up. We had Darryll Fish, Manig Loeser, Marc Andre Ladouceur (FrenchDawg), Esfandiari, Ema Zajmovic (one 1st one 2nd in WPT Montreal), and a nice Austrian lad Gerald who I found out flicked a lot of high stakes stuff. It was awesome to get to battle. Ideally we want easier tables, but if I get a hard line-up, I’m just glad it was on TV. We went on to make Day 4, and make a very deep run. I think I ended up getting 33rd for 25k. I shoved over a bvb all in pre 77<ATo. It felt good to get that kind of experience under my belt. I came, I battled, and I learned from it. Following our knockout, Mr. Dempsey found me in the cash-out line and asked if I wanted to jump in the booth and do commentary. I didn’t think for a second, it was a snap yes. Getting the opportunity to do commentary for a major poker brand/series was a delight. I’ve personally always enjoyed it and feel I might be the right fit for it. Relatively knowledgeable with the ability to get some quick-witted humor out of it.

Here’s the link to the Day3 broadcast with me playing.

I think I start at the 49:40 timestamp and 5:35:00ish timestamp.

We didn’t have much time to enjoy our success, as I needed to rush back home asap. I had about a week to sort my life out and get ready to move to New Zealand. The stream house was organized and sorted. I can whole heartedly say it was the best possible decision I could have made. Travis, Henri, and Hrist are absolute beauts. I think I came out of the Streamhouse with friends for life. A Dream of mine dating back to my Halo days was to live in a grindhouse atmosphere. There’s something about a bunch of people living together who are all chasing the same dream that I love. All 4 of us were so hungry and motivated to stream and play poker. I think that common denominator made it easy for us to get along. We consistently pushed each other and ourselves, and the results showed. Travis killed it. Henri killed it. Pav killed it. And Thanks to some last minute heroics, I killed it. Not that I want to skim over this part, but there’d be so much to write about and I’m a pretty big perfectionist, and this blog is kind of already taking a lot longer than I hoped haha. I’ll let pictures do the talking, as I heard they are worth a thousand words. Take 10-15k words:

Post NZ, we made a nice pitstop in Vancouver before we hit up RIU Reno October edition. We chilled with friends and family. Here’s a nice candid of fellow 2p2 PGC’er and resident legend, Abarone!

It was nice to get back home to Londy, but it was a busy timeframe. My future roommate J0hnDayt0n and I still had to find a place to live! It was basically a rushed week of me house hunting and catching up with as many people as possible. We eventually found a place in the Mississauga area and I’m pretty happy about it. It had a few initial problems within us moving in, but all has been sorted and I’ve enjoyed my life here so far.

Poker in 2018 went a lot better than I could have even imagined. Overall 2018 was the year I made dreams reality. I crushed poker profits. I battled legends on TV poker. I flicked high buy-in MTTs. I traveled to and lived in different continents within a short window of time. Here were my results in MTTs:

YTD All sites

YTD GGPoker

Add another around 40k made in GGPoker cash, it was a good year for poker.

Let's peak at my beginning 2018 Goals:

Quote:
1 - Well I'm going to be honest. I initially put 200k, but I wasn't sure if it would be too much of a reach and I wanted to make sure it was attainable. So my real goal was 200k. Needless to say, we slammed it. Wild to even think that's possible. I feel like I've displayed (along with my housemates) that poker can still prove to be fruitful. Sure making millions is wild/unlikely, but a solid 6 figure year is attainable.
2 - Eh. Def am not an endboss. But I think we're in the conversation. We've established ourselves as a brand in the twitch poker community. We're moving up the ladder. This was an ambitious goal, but this should be one I should be always striving for. The journey over the destination type feel.
3 - So we did a month in Korea, a week in Japan, 2x Reno trips, 6 months in New Zealand, 2 weeks in Australia and a trip to Montreal. I think I slammed it.
4 - lol. Well we don't need to self-harm. We moved out of the shell.
5 - Eh. Prob was a top 5-10 reg by the time I wrapped it up and moved on. The schedule itself is kind of dying. Not much left to play there. I'm lucky to be moving out of it when I am.

It's been a hell of a ride. Here's to 2019 my friends. To all those who have jumped on board with my journey throughout the last few years, Thank You. You've helped this lad from the great plains of Saskatchewan flourish into a moderately successfull twitch streamer and poker player.

So there was a part of my 2018 post that I left out that people were inquiring. I left out my goals for 2019. I had a pretty large year in terms of results, so I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to say I’d make for 2019. Ideally I’d like to improve and do better, but a ~225k year is pretty god damn good lol. But I did have one real goal for 2019. One I didn’t feel comfortable writing down and posting publicly. One I just wanted to keep to myself.

I wanted to become an official team pro and sponsored player for a poker site.

The lads at GGPoker have been great to me, but the lack of official title made me unsatisfied. I still think the network as a great future and hope all the best to them. But I don’t think they have an intentions on signing anyone outside of Bryn.

When Party contacted me, it wasn’t that hard for them to sell me on it. Party has been consistently making strides for the betterment of the community. From decreasing rake in PKOs, to removing the payjumps from 1st to 2nd in PKOs so it’s not as intense of a HU, to countless live and online series that give infinite value. When some sites continuously release information consistently removing and taking away from players, Party continues to add and improve.

It’s pretty surreal to think this has become a reality. I’ve been playing poker since I was 13. From playing playmoney, to spinning up and torching my first $ won from freerolls, to when I made my first legit account on my 18th birthday. I’ve played so many years as a recreational dreaming of going full time. Dreaming of being on the major final table on TV. And here we are. Getting 6 figure scores. Playing $25,000 Buy-in MTTs. Signing with partypoker.

P.S.
RIP to XxXMLGPROXxX as my Party SN. You were great. Figured it’d be rational/fair to change it to Egption.
