Red line is suffering, due to trying to get WTSD down. Too much aggression, I have to fold almost everything.

For anyone still reading this crap: I'm trying to decide between joining RIO and Upswing. Does anyone have relevant experience on either ? Can't seem to find a decent comparison online. Most reviews are even outdated.

I don't have the basics of a solid strategy (abc) down, so I'm looking for some structured course from the ground up. I hear that Upswing should be more suited in that case. I hear RIO is aimed at more experienced players.

V is 28/21, 3b is 3% over 200hands.
PRE: standard open, BU and BB call.
FLOP: drawy board and can get value from PP's, draws and weaker Ax.
TURN: brick. BU probably raises sets or 2pair on the flop. Stronger Ax seems unlikely except AQ. I want to protect against draws again. Should this be a check to keep PP's in ?
RVR: brick. I don't block the spade flush draw. I'm hoping to see 88-JJ or weaker Ax here. Some advice please.

V is 66/11 over 100hands, 36% flop raise vs cbet (4/11). Probably the ISO is too loose, he's gonna call a lot of hands, so I should be more linear here I think.
FLOP: he will probably have a lot of junk here, and the board is superdry, but again, maybe he won't fold enough to make this cbet profitable. I was thinking about building a pot for when I hit the flush. He raises, probably has some Ax or even 2x. Think I need to call at least 1.
TURN: he makes it halfpot, pretty sure I need a flush here to win. Don't have the pot odds to call but the implied odds should be there.
RVR: brick, no way I can call now.

One of my big leaks was a too high WTSD, around 31%. I'm trying to get it down by looking for spots to steal the pot, and not calling rvr raises w 2nd flush and stuff. WTSD is getting down, today's sessions was 21% but even then I'm losing so many pots. I feel like I just have to fold so much because I don't have anything and villains are just bombing so many turn and rivers.

Hey guys,

wanted to given an update. Haven't played a hand or studied in 2,5 weeks. Had a big losing session and cashed out to prevent myself from chasing losses. A few days later my holidays started and have been mostly busy with other stuff around the house and doing stuff with friends. My girlfriend is very happy that I didn't spend most of our holiday time on poker .

Going to get back in the game in a few days. Have just ordered a hardcopy print of The Grinder's Manual and will start reading that again when it arrives on Wednesday. I notice that I don't really get into ebooks, so hopefully the content will stick better with a hardcopy. If anyone has a better suggestion on poker books, please let me know !

On the goals: I haven't improved **** since I started this thread. Hopefully we can get some new momentum in 2018. The d7sarmy website is up and running now, with adjusted prices now for the different memberships. Currently the $500/3months is a bit expensive for me, especially since I'm only at 5NL and can probably still learn a lot before their content would be relevant for me. Will stick to RIO for now.

Good luck in 2018 guys !!

Ok help me out guys:

CO (no reads) opens 3x, I 3b on BU to 9x, CO calls. I've entered the ranges and flop into Pokerranger. On this flop my range has 48% equity, and my specific hand has only 34% equity. I assume this makes it a check on the flop ?

On a blank turn and a check from V, would you stab without any real equity ?

If this is a solid read you should be 3betting linear for value (you are saying villain is a fish/station.)

I would just flat bb KJo versus fish sb here (and I'm a 3betting maniac versus SB raises ). Others will disagree.

im not sure what to do with A4hh on this board. i would be inclined to cbet 1/3 with an overcard mainly because population overfolds to cbet in 3b pot.
i think if we check we are capped then villain could get pretty aggro on turn and river and we need to fold pretty much always

hey max, I see in my db a 29,9% ftcb in 3bet pots over a large sample. I don't think this is overfolding, right ?

5NL and 10NL is just a calling station fest in my experience, but that doesnt make it easier to win. I'll show some hands below.

On the hand, I did cbet and he x/r so I folded.
