California online grinder playing on Pppoker, Ignition, & Global & any other site that is interesting along with some live sprinkled in.

Focusing on 6-max & headsup pot limit omaha. I've been playing daily about 8-10 hours pretty consistently, but will take days off as needed if I sense burn out.

The purpose of this blog is to connect with like minded PLO players looking to improve their game as much as they can. I think with the rise of Apps, Pppoker, & other online poker sites, there is a lot of useful discussion we can have.

Here is a LINK to my discord where we talk about poker related shenanigans.

I'm thinking the talk will be focused on strategy, but also on life and lifestyle as is comes up! I enjoy traveling & eating well and am looking forward to having balance in life.

So this is probably the most interesting hand I've played so far in my life. Pocket Aces flops royal flush that rivers quads.

Some hands from today's session on Pppoker:

Raised pre, bet flop, turn and checked river.

1 outered for basically my whole stack. Bet large on flop, bet small on turn, called c/r and then called pot sized bet on river. I've had a veritable cornucopia of these occur within the past month.

A cooler goes my way. Session ended kind of flat, but I sunrunned for a bit which made for a positive day. I iso'd a limper, villain was in the blinds and leads out on the flop. I flat call with the nuts, turn villain bets large and I hit my redraw and set him all in.

I've been playing for about 1-2 months of 5 card PLO and I enjoy the action. I'm finally getting into a rhythm with preflop and postflop play after having played 4 card PLO for awhile. I've toned down my aggression pre and am betting less merged on the flop.

Also, I have noticed that playing earlier in the morning instead of sleeping into the early afternoon and playing after dark has improved my mental focus. I will continue to go to sleep around 11pm-12am and then wake up at 7am and start the grind after some coffee, reading discord, browsing 2+2, and watching about an hour of PLO videos.

Thanks! Mainly low stakes for our main game, but we mix in some 1/2, 2/4, and shots at 5/10.

Well, so much for going to sleep at a reasonable hour. RIP sleep schedule. Games were too good.

Wasn't sure how to play this hand. I thought pot sized bet on flop was good. Villain was pretty loose but had a good hand this time.

Played a 10 hour straight session yesterday. Was down 2K then towards the end scooped a 3way allin 200bb deep. Now, going to bed at a more "reasonable" hour at 1:45am. Need to wake up at 5:45am to run an errand. Let's see how the sleep schedule goes tomorrow.

Watching these asmr videos of a car running over random sht. They are interesting in a nonsensical way.

Alright, it's around 3:30pm and I have my coffee and am starting another session. Let's be patient, wait for good spots, and then execute well. Good luck everyone on your sessions today.

Ended session after 7-8 hours, and would like to play more. However, I'm feeling a bit uninterested in the grind at the moment, and I have this nagging feeling to book a win on the day, so there's that.

The rest of the night will be reserved for watching memes on the tik tok app and then a little bit of tournament poker videos which I watch until I fall gently into slumber.

Followed a whale from PLO200 all the way up to PLO1000 and got to play him headsup. He kept buying in for the minimum each time and limped his whole range and would randomly sitout and switch between stakes so the match took forever. One of the reasons why I won was because he played so bad, but it really showed that I need to improve my headsup game.

If anyone has any good headsup resources, I'm all ears. Lots of regulars have told me that there isn't a lot of good headsup material out there. The only material I've found is from Suhexp and JNandez's stuff.

There's a few things I learned: you are not only battling the other regs for position on the rec, you are also battling time. So you must be very efficient at your task. That means having the skill to beat a whale before all the other sharks do.

Yesterday did not end well. Down 5 buyins. Played bad and did not get rewarded. Going to try harder today, be patient, and wait for the good spots.

Good luck everyone on your sessions today.

Played better this session. Much better. Still getting coolered in some spots but the hands are obvious if you analyze it a bit and not just automatically think, "I'm at the top of my range, I have to call."

Hero has KK and villain has JThh and Flop is KQ9hh. Villain pots flop and hero calls, turn is the Qh giving hero top boat and villain the straight flush. He pots flop and pots turn.
I think I could have laid this one down since his line just looks like a straight flush.

Games were good. Had 3 sessions in one day with mini breaks in between: 5 hour + 3 hour + late night 4 hour. Played much better this time around and ran well. Still missing thin value in some spots and need to work on my multi tabling skills more so I can execute the routine decisions super fast.

My goodness.

My random trash stacks aces. Sick hand goes my way. Hero 2s3s vs villain's AA on As4s5s4c8c. The hand went by so fast as we just kept insta re-raising one another, lol, until the stacks were in the middle.

The famous PLO gambler Ziigmund is drunk and turning things up a notch. Funny thing is I don't think he is even gay--it was just one of those moments where friends try to one up one another while drinking a lot and things just happen to go there.

Poker gods give and then they take away. Wow, that was a brutal hour of playing. Lots of coolers.

5-card PLO hand discussion:

Nut straight + Qhiflushdraw vs 2pair+Double Ace hi flush draw.
Even on the flop I was at a raw equity disadvantage.

I 3bet preflop in a straddle spot with double suited AQQ on the BTN and get flatted! by the SB who has double suited Aces. I think I flop the world but I am actually at an equity disadvantage on the flop AND the turn. Sad times. Keeping that one in the memory banks for sure.
