He had mentioned he did go the mtt route for a few months before committing fully to plo. Only crazy people play mtt full time for their only income :P

Yeah it can be a nasty game. But when you're running well, lawd almighty, you'll wonder why anyone plays hold'em.

Yeah this. I did play MTTs for a while and I just can't do it. Major envy to the guys that can cause they can just stream twitch with no worry. I would probably drop poker and be a twitch streamer in a heartbeat if it meant I was successful at that.

I would definitely learn PLO but then I am probably being results oriented because I got to where I am through learning PLO. If I had stuck it out with hold'em, PIO and shortdeck, I might actually be much better off by now playing on China apps & shortdeck games. Who knows. Definitely chose the more fun game though

Not the best looking graph and we haven't quite gotten out of it yet, but... We almost doing it! What a stressful ***** week it's been. Thin brag, played 600 hands at 50/100 this week, not doing too bad ... but 25/50 is where they get me.

Let's go, time to bink another big month imo.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean "with no worry"? What kind of worries do players from other games have that MTT players don't?

You think streaming cash games will seriously hurt your EV?

And one more question. You're one of the few pros who mentioned learning short deck. Do you think learning short deck > learning omaha, mtt now?

MTTers don't have to worry about showing their game cause the pool is so big and let's face it, no one really cares about strat v strat. Even if someone knew what your strategy was in an MTT, I doubt they'd even find the opportunity to take advantage of it.

In high stakes cash games, I'm showing a much smaller pool with much less recs exactly how I'm playing. Opponents already better than me can find counter-strategies and leaks that I'm unaware of, and players worse than me will learn through just watching.

Both will mean my pool becomes worse and, yeah, it will hurt my EV. I could pretend to be an endboss and say "I can just learn to play better with a close to GTO strat" but I'm realistic and don't think that that's going to be happening anytime soon.

I wouldn't know, no idea what the short deck climate is and whether it's a game that's gonna stick around. I just hear of big games in Asia and I drool.
Thanks for the Qs!

The $$$ amount doesn't say it, but not gonna lie, it's been a tough month. A ton of ups and downs with a -40k day somewhere in there which sucked.

It's extreeeeemely hard to put in as much volume when you're losing, so I don't think I'm hitting that 100k hands I'm working on it though, dropping down to add in tables when games are dead to get myself to feel productive.

So I've been doing a whole bunch of battling at HS aaaaand... It's not been going the best. Most of it coming from when I play a ton of shorthanded/HU. I also had a nice time vs legend wruuum the other night where he won like $30k off me in a 250hand HU session, so that was peachy.

I have now set a rule of no HU whilst playing 6m at the same time. Which means I have less swings I guess.... At the same time I have to sitout vs some trashbag grimming scumregs which is killing me, but what can you do eh.

Ah well, for the 23498237th time this month... Onward and upward to a big month, rofl.

Idk in what order the best players are, cause they prob so far ahead that I can't tell. I also haven't played vs everyone since there are some bigbois like sauce/berri/jeans that just don't play much at 25/50 and below.

Pretty much any that are willing to play 3h with me are going to be the best players (cause they more likely have edge).

Regarding which sites you play on... I'm mainly curious how you think the player pools compare in difficulty? Stars vs. apps vs Partypoker vs American sites etc. I'm assuming you play on most of them to find good, high-stakes games.

Also, are you playing 6m on the apps or just HU? I've heard there's tons of collusion on there in the 6-max games.

Thanks man!
I currently only play on Pokerstars (no apps either), although I'm dabbling on RIO just for fun. 5/10 doesn't seem to run there otherwise I'd have moved some actual $$ onto there.

I've never played American sites. Apps have been easiest for me in the past.
Partypoker seems easy in terms of, everyone is doing things really badly... But my results are actually worse on Party than Stars. Something something cardsharing botrings.

Until Party does something about the situation to remedy it, I'm prob only going to play in the very best games there.

------------

So February was pretty annoying.

Thought we were doing it and then doomswitch lmfao. Not too mad about it although it is ofc very annoying.

Dat feel when you run this well at HS and still breakeven lolol.

------------

This month started off almost exactly the same actually, with a casual -50k at breakfast wheeee.

Can't be bothered to find any hand histories right now, my biggest winning hands were just coolers.

Volume will probably be lacking since I'm going to Japan for a couple weeks at end of month! Much excitement. GF and I have been there like 4 or 5 times now but it's been like 3 years since we last went... This visit will be our most ambitious one yet! Going to be travelling between many different small towns and I'm pretty much depending on my gf to brush up on her japanese and translate lolol. Will keep in mind to take photos for the blog.
