Hi,

I have now officially joined Coaching for profits of BPC and will share the journey of mine in here.

My situation
My name is Johan, 24 years old, getting closed to 100 years everyday. I love football since I was 5 and poker since I was 13. What I love even more is travelling and is the reason of why I first moved from Sweden to Ireland and am now in the Philippines. I am working a 9-5 job which limits my time of doing what I love the most.

My poker story
I started playing for money when I was 15 and have since then made about 10-12k in total. That sums it all up. 10 years, 1k-ish a year in average. Barely enough to go to the neighbor country for a day to try their street food. It has however helped me to get where I am today which I really can’t complain about… but I do want more., I want to be ballin instead of helping the company I work for make a lot of money while I get pesetas – which is the reason I took the step of joining BPC.

Why I want to join CFP?
I have made a few k euros during my in front of my computer playing cards. I do however want more than a few k by doing this. I want to be ballin instead of helping the company I work for make big ass money while I count my last pesetas end of every month. I have therefore joined CFP where my ultimate goal is to go from pesetas to a sack of dollah dollah billz.

I have a Youtube channel which will be updated about once a week: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCID...GWnpTdUz9IGG8g

Now I am done with all the formal steps and will start playing for real.

I have played low stakes to try it out. It was a while ago I multitabled so it needs time to get used to, especially when I am on several poker sites – becomes a bit hectic.

I will get in contact by my coach next week in order to schedule my first session with him – Until then I will play with micro stakes and just get used to the different tables.

I have however had issues with my internet yesterday and today so I am a bit behind in schedule than planned. I really hope it is solved by tomorrow.

Just give the effort and I am sure you will find a way to become black (or at least much darker) and Filipino

I have now been playing for 3 days. All of them with negative results. It feels like I play “solid” and have only tilted once but I can also feel I have alot of leaks. I don’t know where so it is something I need help to pinpoint. I noticed though I have difficulties when playing on different sites at the same time and that is when I lose the most and make the mistakes. I need to keep playing and get used to that,

I have mainly played NL25 which I have easily beaten before but I think it isn’t as easy when I need to adapt to all new stuff I suppose. I am going to play lower limits until I get more confident so my BR don’t take too much of a hit.

My graph:

I am up about 25 euro on untracked site so isn’t aaaaas bad as it looks like.

I have now had my second Coaching session. I must say it was very constructive!

There are some leaks that was brought up and I will work on having them fixed. Villain selection is something I need to be more strict on. I started fine last week but I quit the villains too late later in the week. I have sometimes played more than 2 tables when I get action in order to get more volume as I am working full time. I will however now play maximum 2 tables and have full focus on those.

Result wise was much better this week. I won’t post any graph until end of month though.

Now it is time to go study and then play, after I had 36 hours break from poker.

I have not got very much volume of the poker, either study wise or playing wise because of personal stuff. This weekend was chillin at the beach instead.

This week will be much playing today, wednesday and thursday but other than that I will once again not have much volume.

The plus note for this however is I get to clear my head, maybe too much as I feel like i have forgotten some stuff that I need to take up again,

So it is the end of October and I will do a quick review.

I have played about 10k hands and am up about 25 euro (I have not recieved any rakeback) which I am not very happy about, neither volume wise nor result wise.

I have the last two weeks been off track because of stuff beside poker and I will during November focus on my routine and stick to it 100%. I need to wake up in time – have my coffe and breakfast ready in front of my computer early enough to focus on poker at least 5 hours a day. I have not yet planned and written more concrete goals for the month. I will have that tomorrow.

Graph for the month. I have removed 2 sites as they show the results inaccurataly. I have not played a high volume in any of them anyway:

I have set some mindset goals which will be what I am going to focus on. I will try to make the routine strong and natural, like going to work everyday.

Mindset Goals

1: Wake up in time. This means no later than 7:30am.

2: Play and be productive even when not feeling like it – no distraction.

3: Get a better understanding of what tilt is and how to deal with it

Volume goals

1: 20k hands this month.

2: Study a total of at least 20 hours (Coaching exclusively)

First stop loss day has come. It was a bad day to hit it as it is actually my first whole day dedicated to poker. I will also only be able to play 3 days next week as I am going to Hong Kong for a long weekend.

But the positive thing is that I now have whole day for studying and I will use the opportunity to also cook which I haven’t for a while in order to get highest possible volume for poker.

On the goal side I have been successful on point one and two. Point 3, tilting is something I need to work on. I haven’t spewed away anything because of it but I get too affected by the outcome of hands and how the opponent plays.

Volume wise: I have only played 3500 hands this month and today’s stop loss will make it incredibly difficult to reach 20k hands. I will re evaluate this goal after mid month to see if it needs to be lowered or not. Right now the aim is still on 20k hands.

Have been out travelling the last days hence not been able to play. This week is also kinda ****ed up with weird work schedule and stuff outside work/poker. I am quite anxious about it.

I have no problem sticking to the routines but there keeps coming up stuff that intervene with my Poker. I have already let alot go in order to get the time for my poker but it feels like that is not enough. My volume goal is so far away, it is quite embarrassing.

Something needs to be changed. Right now I have a few weekends and a 2 weeks long vacation planned before new year. I love travelling but I think I will have to temporarily give that up in order to get the volume I need. So the idea is to stick with the weekend/vacation plans I have but after that I will be very careful when booking any days off that would affect my volume too much.

It feels like I have been stuck the past few weeks. The reason is time and motivation. I have had hard time to get the time I want and need to dedicate to poker so when I have the time for it I am trying to do everything at the same time. I try to get high volume and study as much as possible and this removes full focus on what I am doing. It also affect my play when I know the I need to play/earn as much as possible with the little time I have. My results of UhlvarEquity kinda reflects how my mindset is. It doesn’t get better but actually slightly worse.

I have made a plan and goals of what I want to achieve but I think I need to change it and also specify more on HOW to achieve it. I need to remind myself it isn’t today or even this year I will make the big money but it is next year. I will create a new plan which will be done by end of this week. This will be more specified on what I will do and be more focused on quality rather than volume. I plan to become the mother ****ing grind machine next year when more time can and will be dedicated to poker. And I am not going to waste that by not being as prepared as I can get!

My biggest fight right now is not to learn the game but to make a huge change in my mindset! I need to push myself to want to learn even when I don’t feel like it. Every hour of not being productive is an hour of waste. It is not only a waste but also freaking disrespectful to the future me! I need to respect myself now and even more, respect my future!

November end

So November has ended. I had a few goals, as below:

Mindset Goals

1: Wake up in time. This means no later than 7:30am. – This has been successful. I however changed it to 8am as I am now working 1 hour later than I when I set the goal. This gives me an additional 30min for poker

2: Play and be productive even when not feeling like it – no distraction. I am not 100% satisfied with what I have accomplished here. I have made an effort to really become 100% productive and become better and better, even when I don’t feel like pokering. I would first say I had failed but after discussing some with my GF, I actually could see a big change compared of my attitude compared to before. I have alot to improve here but the trend is positive and I can feel that I will get there!

3: Get a better understanding of what tilt is and how to deal with it (Hi Tilt free Today) I have a better understanding and went through the Tilt free today course. It has helped but I need more focus on this. I have noticed lately that I actually quit too late and have lost significant amount of money because of that. This has not been accomplished.

Volume goals

1: 20k hands this month. Played about 9500 hands

2: Study a total of at least 20 hours (Coaching exclusively): I have studied over 20h and probably close to 30hours. I put this in yellow as the Quality of studying has not been as good as it should be.

The month has been a losing month, I am back 200euro or something like that and of course I am not happy at all with that. I have played solid most of the month but especially last week I had lost my inspiration and motivation – this made me become unnecessarily unfocused and made the month go red instead of green.

Below is the graph (says I am up here but quite a few hands are actually missing + Cristal Poker is not in this graph.

<b>December Goals</b>

What: Be prepared for a lot of grinding in January. Prepared by learning all the standards, betsizing and improve my Equity calculating. I will post hands, use Uhlvar Equity and Pokerstrategy Equilab and CFP materials.

Where: I will be studying and playing at home

When: This will be done by 6th January

Which: I need to wake up early. Play poker and then study until I start working. Comment on hands. Post hands. Equity, focus one type of situation at the time, like Overpair vs XX on Flop XXX

Why: Be prepared for real successful grinding – learn the basic and then I can develop even more! This is the way to learn more advanced poker

M

How many hands to play In December? 8k

How precise and fast in Uhlvar Equilab? Up to 3% wrong in an average of 6 seconds.

How well do I need to know the standards? I need to know all standards as there is in the document.

Evaluate the progress on 6th, 13th, 20th, 29th

Make sure to make adjustments of attitude/ways to go if I am out of track and not seem to reach the goals.

Reached my second stop loss today. Played a villain that I am not sure if should have played or not. I didnt realize but quite a few hands were out of standard lines so I will need to verify that. It kinda felt like he was giving me money in many spots though, except that variance hit me in the nuts!

First day of playing since my vacation. I planned to play yesterday as well but my computer didnt want to cooperate so I just made some adminstration stuff and today I was able to cure my PC so it is now healthy!

I played a bit over 1k hands and from start I didnt really fell ocnfident and played quite weak but it got better in time.

I won about 100 euro this day and it feels good to have a good start of the new year. Now I just need to continue winning!

I have been quite off in the forums here and therefore not posted hands or commented them. So I need to improve that. I am off to work now, I just wanted to let you know I am still alive and that I am still going to beat this program

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycBJywyqZM8 What I listen to while playing, helps with the focus for me – so give it a shot, might work for you as well.

Happy fishing!

It started very well with 3 days of, for me good profit and was up 250 and I felt super good, which of course is dangerous if you get over confident. I have since Sunday until now lost the 250euro, after hitting my third stop loss. It is money I could have not lost if I focused on the Villain selection as the losses I have are mainly from aggro guys post flop that I think I easily will beat once I hit a good hand. But I realize now that I am not good enough to have a big edge against them. So STICK to my A-game against NON-aggressive players for now and I WILL be able to climb the levels!

Down about 300 euro this month. Tough when I had huge expectations of getting my first 1k month. I will too a break Sat and Sun was mainly studying and fix other outside poker stuff, as Sundays usually dont give me much action anyway.

So now I am ready to fight back and go for at least a hope for at least a B/E month.

Was a while since I made a status update now.

Since last update I have changed the poker format to NL 6-max. The reason for this is that Pokerstars now have removed their Heads up tables which was at least 15 but maybe even 25% of my current volume. Philippines is quite a restricted country when it comes to poker so I would only have 6 rooms left to play at, one of them is soon moving to a platform I am not allowed to play on. That + having a full time job would make it really difficult to get any good volume.

So I have now started to learn the 6-max basics and I must say it is quite a change and challenge. I am not very good at remembering charts etc and now there are quite a few which I am working hard on to remember. I have put the Preflop opening chart as my background on my phone which I noticed is a huuuge boost in the learning. The postflop game is not too difficult though, just solid play.

Sorry for the delayed update:

So, 6/max is going well and I have almost played 30k hands now. I am happy with the learning curve where I have learnt the standards quite well but I am not very happy with the volume. I should be able to get at least 20k a week which will be the goal next week and I will really make sure it happens.

Graph will come when I have played 50k hands of NL2

I have now played 50k hands on NL2.
Here is my graph. I must admit I have been running better than ever on these tables or it might feel like it because the players just like to sponsor me for my journey.

http://i.imgur.com/sf5G0ul.png

This means level up.

First session of NL5 ended up with a stop loss. Felt like the run good I had on NL2 went to the run bad at NL5.
I tilted a bit after a while and there were spots where I made too thin calls where I usually would fold. I also felt scared playing NL5 which is weird as I played NL50HU before starting this 6/max without feeling scared. That is what grinding NL2 does and I believe it is a good thing. This prepares me for the future when I climb up to the higher limits.

I have used the time to analyze my game a bit and posted hands and Tomorrow I will give another shot.
Quote

i have 31k hands on NL5 and I dont know what is happening but I feel like I keep gettin owned even though I play good poker. I know I have lost more than I should have in some spots due to tilt but even if I remove the tilted hands I am in negative win rate, and not by little. Dont know if it can be variance or if I am so freaking bad.

I will keep playing NL5 but in case I lose 2 more BI, I will go down to NL2 to regain my confidence. I still belive I can beat NL5 and my BR is enough for it but my mind is taking a huge hit by the daily losses.

My winrate for NL5 is: -5.70 which is kinda worrying.

Long time since last update. I appologize for that.

I meant to update when I hit 100k hands which I now have- but much later than expected. I have less time for poker nowdays and I am trying to find a way to give more time for it.

Anyway, Last update about me getting owned changed pretty much after I wrote about it and has been going slightly upwards instead. First graph is of all the hands and the second one is of all hands after I posted about the bad period:

I will most likely go up to NL10 now, I will just have to verify with the coach first

Hey guys,

So I have played NL10 for 2 weeks now and it is going ok. 40k hands with 0.82bb/100.

I have been lazy about equity training the past 1-2months but I have once again started practising daily at work so I make sure to improve in all aspects. A quick update of how I am doing. Not much else to say.
