So I've finally decided to make a topic after umming and ahhing for ages. Finished uni on Thursday, had a massive blowout in Newcastle over the weekend and am now recharging/grinding before I have to start work in the middle of July full time.

Now that i'll be working, I won't have to worry about money anymore so I can focus on actually generating a BR worth something. Have had several ~$800 ish BR's before and beaten the game over a decent sample size throughout the nano stakes, so it's just getting the volume in really.

Enough about me, here's some of my past graphs (have to remember these sample sizes are from my home pc, and not the laptop i've been using for most of my results, so I don't have my 10nl results as they are on another website):

2nl

4nl (dodgy EU site)

Stats since i've been home, basically last 2 days:

Hoping to grind out of 2nl to start with by playing zoom, although if I get to 5nl zoom and it's a nit fest I may move to 5nl 6max where I can play a bit looser. I'm aiming to 3/4 table 2nl zoom to start with, and am aiming for a minimum of 2000 hands per day.

Starting BR = $40 because before starting work that is all I can afford. I'm determined not to redeposit, and 20bi's for 2nl is definitely more than enough. I'll be using the 20bi rule for 2nl, 5nl and 10nl as i've beaten them before.

Once I get to $600, i'll be hopefully using the 20+5bi shot at 25nl, but I may very well try 16nl 6max when close as apparently it's softer than other games.

Feel free to comment, i'm using this thread for inspiration as much as anything else.

GL and run good everyone.

Hand Total for the Day: 2315
Profit: +$0.70

So pretty gruelling day, couldn't get anything really going until towards the end of the session where I finally managed to get a few hands to hold up and got in some better spots. Still, a slightly winning day is still a winning day.

Difficult spots of the day:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($5.39)
Hero ($3.08)
UTG ($1.19)
UTG+1 ($1.13)
CO ($2)
BTN ($2.42)

Dealt to Hero Q Q

fold, fold, fold, fold, SB raises to $0.04, Hero raises to $0.12, SB calls $0.08

FLOP ($0.24) 4 T T

SB checks, Hero bets $0.17, SB raises to $0.34, Hero calls $0.17

TURN ($0.92) 4 T T 5

SB bets $1.32, Hero??

Had only played 4 hands against villain, was 50/25 with previously 100% fold to cbet on flop. Not sure what to do on the flop either, whether to ship, fold or call down.

Hand 2:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($5.68)
BB ($2.15)
Hero ($2.39)
UTG+1 ($2)
CO ($0.42)
BTN ($1.92)

Dealt to Hero 9 9

Hero raises to $0.06, fold, fold, fold, SB calls $0.05, fold

FLOP ($0.14) 9 K J

SB bets $0.10, Hero raises to $0.30, SB calls $0.20

TURN ($0.74) 9 K J 4

SB checks, Hero bets $0.55, SB raises to $1.54, Hero ???

Are we ever ahead here? Just screams of a straight of some sort to me, but then the flat on the flop confused me...

QQ - pre fine, flop 3/4pot ok, the min raise is just like i've got the ten, i dont mind the call here try catch a Q but hes going to continue the turn alot. I'd fold this alot here, he's not continuing with anything less than a T here.

99 - 4-5x pre they will call. flop is fine, turn i'm getting it in, villian range will consist of alot of worse hands that yours.

Yeah the worst thing about the QQ min c/r is that it normally means insane amounts of strength, but i'm only calling 17c into a 75c pot, meaning that it's difficult to lay down. Guess its best to fold really.

I normally just pot pre-flop, sometimes 3x bb but I guess with the hand ranges of people at 2nl fish are going to be calling with ATC a lot of the time.

Thanks a lot for the comments though.

So had a pretty crappy day volume wise yesterday. Worked until 4pm GMT, then watched the England game so only got about 700 hands in but was up 2.5bi so was pretty pleased. Few tricky spots that i'll post in a second, will update graphs and statistics later today after today's sessions.

Need to put in about 3000 hands one day this week to reach my 15k weekly target. Felt that I played well last night, widened my 3b range a bit, especially in the blinds and to what appears to be clear steals.

Interesting hands:

Hand 1

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($1.61)
BB ($1.83)
UTG ($0.95)
Hero ($2.26)
CO ($1.72)
BTN ($1.28)

Dealt to Hero K K

fold, Hero raises to $0.07, fold, fold, SB calls $0.06, fold

FLOP ($0.16) A 3 A

SB checks, Hero bets $0.10, SB raises to $0.24, Hero calls $0.14

TURN ($0.64) A 3 A 9

SB checks, Hero checks

RIVER ($0.64) A 3 A 9 5

SB bets $0.46, Hero

Villain was 31/15/0 over 20 hands so fairly small sample size. Why would he raise this flop if he had an A, surely you'd be check calling? Or is this thinking too advanced for 2nl?

Hand 2:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($1.41)
BB ($1.06)
UTG ($2.47)
UTG+1 ($3.89)
Hero ($2)
BTN ($2.14)

Dealt to Hero K A

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.07, fold, SB calls $0.06, BB calls $0.05

FLOP ($0.21) T 9 A

SB bets $0.06, BB folds, Hero raises to $0.18, SB raises to $0.32, Hero ??

SB was 22/11/0 that i'd never got involved with in a hand postflop before. Really wasn't sure here what to do.

Ridiculous day, just couldn't get anything going, and then when I finally ran hot for one hand (KK > KK) the misery continued after. Managed to get back to BE and slightly up, but felt that I played well for the most part and got the most volume that I've ever got in a day. Shame this = about 60c profit.

Apart from the standard 400bb AA < KK hands, and set over set coolers I didn't really put any money in where I knew I was bad (eg. getting it in with an overpair when you know that someone has 2p or a set).

So in total:
Hands Played (daily): 3452
Hands Played (weekly): 6434, +434 over target so far.

Profit (daily): $0.62
Profit (weekly): $6.10

Weird Hands:
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($2.28)
Hero ($3.12)
UTG ($1.68)
UTG+1 ($2.23)
CO ($1.33)
BTN ($3.57)

Dealt to Hero 5 3

fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.04, fold, fold, SB calls $0.03, Hero calls $0.02

FLOP ($0.12) T 3 5

SB bets $0.10, Hero raises to $0.32, UTG+1 folds, SB calls $0.22

TURN ($0.76) T 3 5 J

SB bets $0.74, Hero ???

Villain was 22/0 over 9 hands. Is this a perfectly good spot to ship or should we just fold? I know most zoomers are insta-folding, but when getting 6:1 to call even 53s becomes profitable against almost any range.

Hand 2:
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($2.13)
BB ($0.92)
UTG ($1.75)
UTG+1 ($1.37)
Hero ($2.83)
BTN ($1.95)

Dealt to Hero J J

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.07, BTN calls $0.07, SB calls $0.06, BB calls $0.05

FLOP ($0.28) 9 5 6

SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.22, BTN folds, SB calls $0.22, BB calls $0.22

TURN ($0.94) 9 5 6 T

SB checks, BB checks, Hero ??

What are we doing here? Have only 3 hands on both villains, SB is 67/33 and BB is 67/0. Are we betting or checking behind turn?

Much better day today. Played pretty piss poor in the first session combined with 0 luck again, but managed to ride it out to a meagre profit. Then had a +3.5bi swing in the last session to finally take my graph upwards. Daily graph now resembles something that looks like stairs.

Going away for a couple of days for gf's birthday, so will grind tomorrow morning, try and get my daily 2000 hands in, then have to make it up next week sometime.

Hands Played (Daily): 2468
Hands Played (Weekly): 8902, +902 of target so far.

Profit (Daily): $7.62
Profit (Weekly): $13.72

Villain is 55/11 over 24 hands, with a previous 100% check raise flop in the 1 other hand that I have involved with him. What are you doing to his flop raise?

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($2.59)
BB ($3.50)
UTG ($3.24)
UTG+1 ($1.92)
Hero ($2.23)
BTN ($4.90)

Dealt to Hero K K

UTG raises to $0.06, fold, Hero raises to $0.18, fold, fold, fold, UTG calls $0.12

FLOP ($0.39) 6 Q Q

UTG checks, Hero bets $0.24, UTG raises to $0.60, Hero ???

Hand 2:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
Hero ($2.52)
BB ($2.08)
UTG ($1.89)
UTG+1 ($6.33)
CO ($4.69)
BTN ($1.72)

Dealt to Hero A A

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $0.08, Hero raises to $0.24, fold, BTN calls $0.16

FLOP ($0.50) 2 K K

Hero bets $0.32, BTN calls $0.32

TURN ($1.14) 2 K K T

Hero bets $1.18, BTN calls $1.16 (AI)

Standard? Or am I doing something wrong but betting the turn? Villain was 34/21 over 31 hands, and hadn't folded to a 3bet in the 2 previous examples that I have on him.

So, not really sure if anyone's actually following this thread or not, but I'm doing this as much for myself as for anyone else. I just want to make sure that I keep playing at a good level, and within my bankroll, and the results will come. Downswings are going to be inevitable, but having a thread and being able to vent about spots are what will keep me from tilting, at least I think so.

So had Sat and Sun off grinding, which are probably the worst two days to have off softness wise. Got back from my mini-break yesterday and had a pretty poor session, but managed to steer it back to BE before in the very last hand of the day my AA was cracked by a fish AIPF with KTo. GG.

Started again today, and finally got the doomswitch off and posted a 7bi day which was nice.

No real memorable hands, ran ever so slightly above EV but this doesn't really matter because it was more than compensated by previous runbad. Not sure if this was just luck, but it seemed there was more fish around earlier in the day than later on, as more and more 2nl regs (if you can call limp-3b players regs) began to play. Not that these are particularly difficult to beat, they're just irritating because they take even weirder lines than fish.

So, giraffes:

Graph since last update:

Graph Overall:

Current bb/100: 7.82
EV adjusted bb/100: ~11.2

Profit: $23.38
EV adjusted profit: $32.36

Hands Total: 14957
Hands per day average: 1869, -131 under my target.

Anyways, may post some hands if there's any interest, otherwise I'll just keep updating the thread with results for myself and any others out there.

GL all.

So i've been working a lot which has meant the poker has had to suffer a bit recently. Although i've been suffering horrendously from hay fever, which has distracted me no end when I've been putting in the small amount of volume that I've recently been able to. Just looking forward to getting some sort of routine back together, as when I play after 11.30pm GMT, I seem to never be able to switch off and stay wired until at least 3/4am, therefore killing me the next day. So working lates, getting in at 11pm combined with the fact that if I play poker after 11ish I won't sleep, means that my volume has been poor as of late.

But its the weekend, which hopefully means even more fish will populate the 2nl zoom games and mean that I'll be able to move up even quicker than hoped. I've been toying with the idea of using the Micromillions reload bonus to add $20 to the account and get a free Micromillions ticket, may do this in the week, which will also have the added effect of enabling me to go straight to 5nl as opposed to grinding the few remaining bi's that I have left at 2nl.

Have only had 4 sessions of 1000+ hands since I last updated, had a pretty horrid session on Weds, didn't play yesterday and posted around 2k hands this afternoon. Couple of interesting hands that i'll post after the results etc, but have also finally got my zoom hud working, which means that I no longer have to take informed guesses based on stack size when putting an opponent on a range, because the HUD actually updates. Wooo.

Graph since Weds (lolvolume)

So pretty standard running under EV. Should be able to get this amount of volume in tomorrow on it's own, so hopefully with the added bonus of a little reload to get a free micromillions ticket, I may soon be playing 5nl.

Graph since challenge began:

GL everyone for the weekend, run good and kill fishes.

Hero shows A A
(Pre 92%, Flop 98.1%, Turn 100.0%)

CO shows K A
(Pre 8%, Flop 1.9%, Turn 0.0%)

Hero wins $4.80

Hand 2: Villain is 50/38 and have yet to see 3b over a sample of only 8 hands. The raise size put me off 3b though. Is this played ok, or have I made a mistake by not 3b preflop, and jamming on the flop?

FLOP ($0.43) K T 4

CO checks, Hero bets $0.30, CO raises to $0.64, Hero raises to $3.21 (AI), CO calls $0.66 (AI)

Anything wrong with the way it was played?

Hand 3:

UTG squeezer is 100/25 over 4 hands having never 3 or 4bet. Is this always going to be AA/KK?
