Hi.

It was hard decision for me to start writing. I prepared my first message in public more than 6 months and finally I’m here. Being an antisocial person is not the key of success. Though I play poker since 2010, I almost dont have any poker connections. Few years ago my friend stopped to play and it was nobody around I could discuss the game and process with. At the same time I started some “project” that permanently took money out of my bankroll and caused huge financial problems. As a result I dropped in stakes and even played from backers for almost 3 years. Most of that time it was chinese applications. So it was the time of very result-oriented autopilot without any thoughts of analysis and improvements.

Last year my wife gave me the best present a man can get. I couldn’t even imagine how powerful the impact of child can be. At the same time I’ve got my bankroll back, rather part of it. And decision to come back to 6max was very easy.

After a few months of rest I started from z200 to build my game again. It’s unbelievable how nice are feelings when you fold cards and instantly get new ones. Instead of blocked tables and waiting for someone who can start the game. But in the end of the year I played mostly on regular tables even so.

I’m starting 2021 from 500. I’m full of power and motivation. Ready to improve. I have very nice mate. And family, supporting everything I do.

The plans for the year:
- improve the technical part. Mostly 3-4bet pots
- Improve mental game. Get eventually rid of the result oriented approach. And, the most important, to increase the quantity of working hours.

I'm 31, living in Thailand since 2013 and opened for communications. I play mostly on 888 and sometimes on PS to get some volume. Gonna try to post here some weekly and monthly reports.

Don’t be too critical for my English, it’s not my native language.

Cheers

Here is short report about the starting of year.

I didnt check any results and stats since december. gonna try to not looking
as long as i can.

So. it was 80 hours playing, 40 hours of solver. and 10 hours of reading.
I'm doing the experiment. I started to read Tendler's "Mental game" in the end of december and gonna try to read it during 3 months minimum. 30 minutes a day. Finished just 3 chapters. read it several times and every time it was some useful information there. Definitely reccomend to read it thoroughly.
First time in carrer I've setten a good process model and it helps a lot. To show my best at the tables, analyse smarter and feel myself better in general.

Will try to find the instructions how to post hands soon.

I just got information from my English language teacher that “feel myself better” is probably not the best way to describe what I meant.

Hi everyone. Unfortunately I have to rest from 500 for a while. I'm going to build my mental muscle playing blitz 200 this month and probably the next one.
I didn't think before about how variance affects the perfomance. I didnt play play zoom more than 3 month in a row and often mixed it with regular tables. Now reading Tendler's book more attentively I have more time to think about it and seems like the best way to study mental game is playing zoom. It is not difficult to feel confident about all the poker skills playing low variance games. However expexted winrate decreases, it is so much harder to control emotions and follow instructions during a strokes of bad variance. It is so obvious but I didnt understand it before.
I started with blitz one week ago. I intend to find all the flaws in my head that stop me from moving up the stakes, pick the actions, triggers causes my mental problems. It's going to be very interesting experience. Good luck to me.

updated the biggest pot since 2015

I agree with what you write, fast fold games require a completely different, and better, approach to the mental game.

Hi everyone!

I was waiting for the grand slam with spectators for more than one year. Roland Garros final looked like a training match for families and friends. In Australia they have set everything perfect and it deserves a huge respect.
Supporters have warmed up in the semifinals. Weather was very nice, players didn’t have any problems in previous matches, somebody even didn’t lose from November. Everybody expected to have 4-5 hours of the high level tennis.
Unfortunately we really enjoyed the match for only 40 minutes. I want to share my thoughts about it.
First of all I want to say that Medvedev has done a great job. He is the first player who can be competitive with the world top 3 since Andy Murray. Maybe Stan. Dominic Thiem sometimes can show good tennis, but just on clay. His US Open pandemic title is just circumstances in my opinion.
Medvedev nearly defeated Nadal in New York in 2019, was also very good in masters, won ATP finals in London. He shows very clever tennis and he becomes better and better day by day. I think he will not go down the 4th position, probably even 3rd for a long time.
Seems to me it’s a different story instead of Zverev, Tsitsipas and etc.
Novak. My favourite player is Roger. I think he is like Lionel Messi - the most talented player who always makes magic. Rafa is obviously Cristiano. Two pokerstars pros. 24/7 in the gym. I didn’t like Novak before. I supported his opponent in every match. Until yesterday. I was on the other side again, but it was the first time I really liked Djokovic.
He didn’t lose concentration even for 1 second. His game mindset is amazing. I didn’t think about that before I dug deeper in my mental game analysis. He has won every important point. I didn’t see the total point’s statistic, but I can suggest if we could count only important points, it was 9-1 or 10-0. It was a moment in the 2nd set 4-1 with the break, Medvedev served and Novak didn’t return 4 balls in a row and played them very fast, that is not inherent for him. I think he wanted Medvedev to play even faster and tilt even more. Djokovic lost that game for 54 seconds. However in the next game, really important one, he prepared every serve for 25 seconds and didn't give Medvedev even a chance. It was the last game to turn the tide.
Actually Medvedev lost the game in the first set. Serving for tiebreak. He lost the game for 1 minute. Lost to his own fear. In the 2nd and 3rd set he was scared to make a mistake and played too defensive. Real crushers don’t pardon that. They can smell blood.
Novak is a beast with steel nerves. Mentally the strongest player in the world. He had problems with psychology before, but he has mastered a few lessons from Wawrinka. He has mastered them really well. And it will help him to win more grand slams than anybody in history.
