was very hung today so slept it off and eventually woke up feeling decent enough to play a little sesh
ran pretty badly in hypers/jackpots, and bricked a couple MTTs but final table a small avatar MTT as I play those whenever I feel like it to try and take one down, still no luck

busted KJo<Ax can't remember was bvb for like 9-10bb

will probably play more later, had a pretty good week poker wise though, happy with how things have been going

will definitely try and get more MicroMillions MTTs in, would love to go deep in one of those

Just had to stop my session because I got tilted for the first time in a long time. I grind out these jackpots with countless, endless 2x multipliers and as soon as I hit a nice multiplier 6x+ it's like doomswitch is activated. As I write this, I'm like wow stop whining so I guess I'll demonstrate some self control. This is poker, I know what I got involved in. Crazy that I am having such negative thoughts/energy about something so insignificant. Not like I'm in a ds or something.

Sequence of events today, brick MTTs in following fashion:

A8<KK on AA5 flop
A2o<89o bvb at micro final table (this isn't even bad, it's std dunno why it tilted me)

gets 10x multiplier busts A10s<A2s
along with a bunch of other jackpots

might have to stop playing MTTs on stars, been dabbling in small ones, I can't win a flip on stars it's been like 25 MTTs of losing flips

just explaining why I was tilted and this was all within 10 minutes and I guess I just got tilted and realized it immediately and stopped my session, which is a positive

now that I have halted my session and am writing this out and sort of documenting my thoughts, I am reentering a calm mode and am smiling because this post is filled with stupidity but it is giving me clarity as well

anyways I'll post my monthly jackpot graph (as someone mentioned previously, the sample size is basically irrelevant and people play that in a day or two) I want to have 750 jackpots played by month's end to see how it went, but I am also behind my hyper goal so I might have to bust out some solid sessions

not very proud of this graph below, probably because there's nothing to show for it

/end rant

will take a break and go build some DFS lineups as I've been having fun doing that and come back and play later

JULY OVERVIEW ♔

July comes to a close as I write this update hanging from going out last night. Pretty happy with the month overall, but not entirely pleased. Although, I am always trying to look at the bigger picture and focus on the grand scheme of things. I have been thinking a lot about poker and what I want from it. Maybe I should be thinking in terms of what I could give back, but that isn't my first instinct in this situation. Before I get into that, I'll give the month of July a little summary.

✫ 10$ Hypers ✫

These are my main game and I definitely crushed them. Card distribution and running well happened closer to the end of the month, which is always nice. Even though I did not hit my volume goal, I accredit that to trying to grind Jackpots as well. I am comfortable three tabling as that has become my standard. I am capable of playing more tables, but the action isn't that great anyways.

[ ] 2000 Hypers
[x] 3.5-5% evROI

✫ MTTs ✫

Played a good amount of MTTs this month and ended up profiting due to some decent scores for my standards. Only won one outright, but final tabled a handful. They usually had smaller fields though, so nothing crazy. I don't track my MTTs so I would have to check my SharkScope but my membership ran out so I honestly cbf right now. Basically, a profitable month and had some fun among some frustration. But hey, that's poker.

✫ 5$ Jackpots ✫

These are honestly just cancerous. At least that how I currently feel about them. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely profitable, but very frustrating. Constantly grinding 2x multipliers and then boom you get a 10x or something and just brick. Very demoralizing. Anyways, I do think I beat them decently, but nothing exceptional. Not bad for my first small sample. Very unsure if I plan to grind them moving forward, but I probably will since I cannot stand being down in that format. Out of the 700 that I played, my highest multiplier was 20x and I think I got it twice. I chopped one heads up with a reg and bricked the other.

Here are my calculations for my sample. Please correct me if I am wrong.

EV: ~ 43,000
Tournaments: 700
chipEv: 61.43
EV Profit: 430-(700*0.3) = 220

Month Results

Profit: +1290.24$

additional profit for whatever I made in rakeback and MTT scores so another 5-6 hundo

Okay, so moving forward. My plan is to have 1k on FTP and 1k on Stars. I will attempt a 40BI shot at 25s and if I bust my shot, I will simply transfer 1k from Stars and go back to grinding 10s. That is my plan for August. Pretty excited to see how it goes and hopefully regs don't sit me too much haha. I feel even more urgency to plan my ascent now that FTP has been making drastic changes and might result in myself changing sites depending on how things go. For now, I will grind.

More about what I have been thinking about in terms of what I want out of poker. Personally, I do not feel as though I am currently in a position to give back to poker, but maybe one day I will reach that summit. I think I want to set a substantial goal for myself. I am at the point where I am not really phased by the money aspect of poker since my living expenses are very low and I live at my parents house at the moment. My ultimate goal would be to move out and gain my own financial independence. For that reason, making 1-2k a month is nothing substantial for me because does not change anything in terms of how I live. I think I will be setting a goal of 100k profit from poker. This could take very long, but it is a worthy goal imo. I will be going back to University full time come September, so hopefully I can find the drive to work towards this goal while obtaining my education. Thanks for reading guys, get your grind on!

went out Friday and Saturday night and drinks were flowing to say the least

eventually I was sober enough to play, so I started my 25s shot today and was sat by the same reg for 10+ games can't remember but held my own, whether he continues to sit me is out of me control so wtv

will probably have to grind 10s also because 25s action is pretty slow but I don't mind grinding 10s, tbh wouldn't mind grinding 10s exclusively every month, but gotta take a shot at my ascent

didn't check graph once during sesh but after I was finished, realized that I have microstakes PT4 so 25s weren't even there but I deduced that I lost a couple BIs, no biggie

so moving forward need to upgrade PT4 and keep shotting 25s while grinding 10s when action is needed

Well, I decided to do an update since the month started and I have been shotting 25s. So far, I have been sat by a couple regs and one of them stopped and the other said he was sitting me because it was +ev for him even though graph (despite small sample) clearly has me beating him. That's whatever though, can't control that. Action at 25s is not very quick so I will also be grinding 10s to stay sharp and get that volume in. The graphs I'm going to post are lol samples, but might as well show everyone what I been up to. Put in two 60 game seshs today, felt pretty good, got a little tilted at one point due to my biggest pet peeve. Basically, when regs non stop sit you and run like god. That's my number one most hated thing I'd have to say, but that's just weak mental game and I try my best to play to the best of my abilities regardless. Down money so far, but not really bothered strangely enough. Just trying to grind to best of my ability and let the rest take care of itself. I'll post overall graph along with 10s and 25s alone.

I highly recommend just looking at the jackpot sngs as a chip graph and turning off the ROI and $ stats. That combined with trying not to look at my graph too often unless I'm crushing (which is another, smaller leak) helps a lot with my mental game. Anything less than 1k game sample doesn't even hint if you're a winner or not.

I look at jackpots in cEV terms and that's how I measure the result. Tbh I just find them frustrating and they aren't my favourite. I have to enjoy what I'm grinding. Not to say I don't enjoy them, but I'm only going to play them when I feel like it. Also, there is no doubt in my mind that I can beat jackpots, just not something I'm currently dead set on.

Thanks bro, ya hopefully volume just evens it all out. Last two months I started by running under EV and just kept trucking and it worked out.

playing another sesh and doing my best as usual, just a tad frustrating since this one reg non stop sitting me all my open tables and timebanks every hand and runs hot, he's not that great so I'm sure long term results won't lie, just very annoying

apart from that, not bothering to look at graph, just trying to put in solid volume as always

start playing my sesh and boom doomswitch like no other at 10s, this one random fish starts playing me and runs like Zeus himself, haven't seen anything like it in ages, he ends up winning like 14/17 games in cooler fashion, never losing flips etc

got to the point I just declined him and stopped playing in order to regroup so I came to my thread to write down my sentiments, was just pure annihilation, nothing I could do even when I stopped all my tables and just one tabled him, at least I took steps in the right direction and realized something had to be done in the moment, unfortunately can't control what happened

taking a break now and will come back strong for another sesh and avoid fish on super heater
