I have a new challenge: CRUSH & CRUSH!
It`s good to start a new challenge again, and it looks like writting your thoughts can be therapeutic.

I will stop playing hyper sngs and get back to the turbo sngs. It`s the 2nd time a try a hyper format and can`t get used to the swings. Fist time was in 2016-2017 when I played spins. Both times I ran under EV and the tilt got me. I started playing bad, playing scared, not respecting the schedule, playing out of bankroll and other fishy stuff. Even though I didn`t enjoyed this 2 experiences, my game has improved.

As before, it will be split it in 2 categories: enjoying life and enjoying poker.

The enjoying poker challenge:
The short term goal is to finish the 3rd pokerstars challenge in a row for 3200$, and try not to go crazy. I`m on the edge with the schedule because I`m away for 4 day, to a friend B-day party at his countryside house. I have to make 2000 points(around 9-10 hours of play) for 14 days.
The goal for this year is to improve my game and become one of the best turbo SNG regs. I can do that with study, by playing less tables, respect the schedule, no tilt and study the regulars.
I`m starting with a 8k bankroll + 5k safety net, playing up to 60$ with table selection. At 10K bankroll I`ll start taking some shots at 100$, because I know they are beatable, but not right now with this shity mindset. After I`ll get back in the game, I`ll start playing 100$ regularly at 10k bankroll and 10k safety net.
This should help me get of this downswing and start crushing.

The enjoying life challenge:
Spend as much time as I can with my family
Travel
Restart playing live board games
Restart playing football
Get better at my new hobby(the stock market). When people ask me what I do, I want to see their faces when I tell them I`m a professional poker player and a stock market trader.
Exercise and eat healthy – this should be a challenge on it`s own
Some of this are easier now with less corona restrictions and the vaccine.

All games last 360 days. BTW in the last year I also played on other platforms just to "put food on the table". But now with the pokerstars challenges I`ll focus here.

Hey guys,

Poker is not going great. I`m down 1300$ since I started the new challenge and I`m breaking every record: worst downswing (- 8000$), worst or one of the worst months (-4200$), two big downswings in 1 year interval. I`m in that spot where I think I will never win and start to dowbt the software...
If I take things from another perspective, I can say that:
-the 8k swing is at the moment only a 1600$ downswing because of the 2 challenges I got before. If it was a moment to go through a downswing, this is the one, when I`m getting rakeback.
-the 2 downswing are mostly do to playing hypers, and I should asume that, because of the big variance you see in hypers. And after two downswings I have still a decent bankroll.
-I`m seeing a ton of suckouts and coolers, and guys that "almost" can`t lose or they lose 1 hand in 5. I`m playing poker for 8 years, so if the software were rigged, I don`t think I would be winning. Just some guys that get rewarded in the short term for playing bad.
-I am aware I did a lot of bad plays to do tilt, scared play, lots of tables. I`m working on that.


I`ll have to play 8-10 hours/day(depending on traffic) to complete the challenge. I`ll add some small hypers at the begining and end of the session, when I have a lot of unused slots. I will also try to get some points in advance, with longer sessions on weekends, just to get a free/backup day.
I`ll just keep grinding, take it step by step until I complete the challenge and try to play my best poker. The most important things are to play my A game, to do my schedule and not look at the results until the session is over. Maybe I should try not looking at the results for a couple of days or a week.

I'm down around 3k since I started the challenge and 10k from the peak. Not sure when this is going to end, but at the moment it feels like never. I still got 7 days of 9-10 hours grind to complete the challenge, without any day off. If i'll get down to 3k bankroll i'll stop playing 50-60$ buyins. I'll finish this **** pokerstars challenge that killed the pleasure of playing poker...After this 7 days I'll take a huge break, clear my mind and figure out what's the plan.

It`s becoming a nightmare. Only coolers and bad beats. Not sure if I want to reload in case I bust.

Yes, I have. But unfortunately I kinda studied alone in the last months because of time/tight schedule. I`ll fix that immediatly after the challenge.
There are some sngs running and people making decent amount of money. Check the leaderboards on ss. I played some ACR sngs, but you have to play during the night or mix a lot of hypers.

As long as EV good just drop 60s and ride it out

The EV is okish(i`m winning at EV) , but not great. It`s a combination of bad/marginal plays and setup boards where I lose EV. Today, after a long review I found some leaks. I`m playing up to 33$, mostly 9-18man sngs. Dropped the 100$, dropped the hypers, dropped the 50-60$, dropped the 6max because I want to focus on fewer formats until I get over this.
I`m riding it out for some time...

Just finished a 10 h session. Finaly a BEish one.
Looks like I have to play 12 hours sessions in the next 5 days, to complete the challenge. Not used to long hours, but I want to finish this, so I`ll do what it takes.

GL that's definately a lot of hours! As a former SNG player I can recommend to play as few different formats at the same time as the ICM in every format is a bit different, unless you've perfected ICM in every format ofcourse

In my earlier post I meant to say add estimated rakeback to the graphs, should be pretty easy to add

Yes, playing less formats helps. I just played a session with mostly 18man and i felt more relaxed and into the game. Also not hopping for a session savier from a mtt or 33pko helped with the mindset.

The only stats with rake is "total rake" and it`s allready on. Maybe I`m missing some stats because of the silver subscription...dunno
