Long time lurker almost 8 years I guess. I read some legends threads almost all posts about them. Everytime I decide to make a PG&C thread myself , I was too lazy to create one but this time I am starting my journey (again) but in a different mindset.
A little about me , I am a 32 year old guy who is married and have 1 boy that I fell in love the first time I saw him Atm I work full time because of the family responsibilities. In my spare time I will play and play and study and I don't want to jinx it but I will make it this time.
Btw it is my 3rd time that I try to be pro again. The first two was sadly I was younger and without responsibilities and maybe with young age , my ethic was the worst although I made a living even when I play as low as NL25 almost 4-5 years. But now I will start from the bottom again and try to make it to NL100 first then we see what happens.
I live in one of the regulated countries which I hate it so I can not play on some of the major networks. I play some other sites that I can use HUD.
I update this thread every two day to make a habit and share all my story with you guys. There will be graphs , HHs ofc. Hopefully will get some insight from you guys.
I also want to inspire people that who wants to make it with this card game but never have the guts or ethic to make it. ATM I am one of them and I know it but hopefully as you will see it will change.
was my off day at work yesterday so put some grind almost 7 hours. Results were not bad but made 2 mistakes that cost me almost 3 BI that I should't do. Hands are as follows :
In this hand same guy again also need to mention he is 36 VPIP 30 PFR and really aggressive so decided to 3B in position. Well I think as played it is fine but maybe my 3B preflop is wrong ?
If you think that your job and playing poker are different things.. you're wrong..
It's not because one of them pays the Bills the other one isn't a job.. someday playing poker Will pay for Everything..
You have two Jobs now.. put this in your mindset..

I'm going pro This year too..
Good luck for us..
I never saw poker as a job since I really love the game but as you said I should look it that the job that you love so you show up every day work hard to make it.
Yea the day will come hopefully
GL with your goals aswell and ty for your thoughts!
Had a roller coaster day yesterday ups and downs , I tried to play at work but cost me 3 BI since too much distraction , fear of boss appearance so a lot of sitouts so if I play at work I will keep it max 4 table so I can only focus on the game not volume. At home at least made some bucks to keep it a positive day.
Well , the preflop 3Bettor has a %16 3B rate and multiway decided to flat. At flop the guy in SB is an abc player so after facing flop cbet , I consider I can fold both of the guys from the flop also if they saw have at least enough equity. So my question is :
Is reraise ok with this board and with 2 players 1 ABC , 1 try to be LAG ?
BB mucks 8♦ 8♣ (a pair of Eights) (Equity - Pre-Flop: 81%, Flop: 51%, Turn: 70%, River: 100%)
BB wins $1.57
With all the draws missed at river also kind of a scare card is it ok to bet this river to take him off from his lower pairs or should we give up against ABC player ? Btw his WTSD is : 22
Did not give credit to donk bet so decided to flat to keep his bluffing range involved. At turn after the re-raise can we find a fold here ? Only 50 hands with the guy but seems normal guy no fancy plays.
Couldn't update because of some heavy work and family stuff also did not play as much as I want to but anyway here it comes. Decided to ditch wpn since my timezone is 6-7 hours late from America so can't find enough fish to play there
Sadly , the 2 server I played atm (MPN and GG) is not allowing HUD or holdem manager so can't share a graph also need to adapt the play style there without HUD. Here are the latest results.
PROFIT / LOSS since last update : +27.94 $
PROFIT / LOSS since begining : +48.32 $
BANKROLL : 163,98 $
Question : Should I implent a bankroll management like 50 BI for your playing level and +10 BI for your next level , so I can play nl4 when I have 140 USD. Take 10 BI shot at this level.
Don't know if I am gonna implent this but can try out . Btw this results are all from NL2.
Any insight is welcome as always!
About BRM, even 20 buy-ins seems ok, as long as you have a tight stop loss rule like 3-5 buy-ins max, the discipline to move down after hitting the stop no matter what happens, and you feel confident that you beat your current level. It changes obv if youŽre playing for a living, but until then, 20 should be fine. 50 is too conservative IŽd say.
