Don't know where to head in life.. job or poker? Don't know where to head in life.. job or poker?

Ok. So I'm 28 now. Here's a brief description:

- Born/brought up in China.
- Bachelors and Masters in Accounting.
- 2 years work exp as book-keeper (junior accountant).
- Played poker from 2007-now and have ~$100k saved from that (used up a similar amount in expenses).
- Moved to Canada 2 years ago to pursue a second Masters in Accounting for non-career related reasons.
- Have a 3 year post-graduate work permit now (since October 2015).
- Still hooked to poker and lazy to write a resume/find job as most of my friends are saying it's difficult to get a good job without Canadian work exp or a CPA.
- Mainly play 1/2 or 1/3 and rare 2/5.

I really enjoy myself, but I don't make that kind of money anymore from poker. But I still enjoy the lifestyle, freedom and weird hours. I can maybe grind out 3k-4k a month from live/online poker combined compared to the 6k+ that I was making before. And that's the only thing that bothers me. Will this last forever?

Extremely unmotivated to write/post a resume online. Don't want to slog my a** for $12-15/hr when I can make the same money playing and enjoying myself.

It's like this (job) is not what I want to do but I HAVE to do it because there's no guarantee that poker would work out forever. But as soon as I start doing anything resume-related online, I feel sad/depressed/uncomfortable and want to quickly close the website and leave it for the next day. It's like I'm not just unmotived but afraid of working in a workplace environment given the social anxiety I've developed throughout these years. I know this won't make me happy, but it's like everyone's doing it, so I must do it too.

I'm afraid because I'm 28 now and it's kind of like my last chance to decide. How do I find my calling? Is there anyone else who feels the same and wants to share their views/thoughts/experiences with me?

Move up to 2/5, continue to grind while apply to full time (legit paying, not 12-15 per hour) jobs. Grind until you get job, take job and play poker on the side?

Curious as to why you got your Masters in accounting? You said it was for non-career reasons?

you're aware there's a possibility to make more than 4k/month by simply improving ur game leading you to play higher both live and online, you just have to put some work off the tables, if you're not willing to do that you should probably pursue a career that you enjoy at the very least

i have played professional poker for 11 years or so and would advise you to work very hard at/toward a real job and then play poker in your spare time. the uncertainty of poker's future is scary. Unless, like the poster above me stated, you have to really enjoy it, that means off the table work to, which is hard to come by. all the deep answers and questions i know i could search for to help my game are the ones i always shy away from, that's not going to get me ahead in this game. after 11 years, its hard to really dedicate to it. i also have a wife, two daughters, friends, and a dog. these things make it harder to really dedicate to poker as well. it's a tough spot.

im trying to find a new passion or calling, it's not easy. maybe you didn't go the right route with accounting. maybe you would perform and/or find a different job to be much more exciting; it's tough, it's tough. each day, keep your opportunities open and do your best in whatever it is you are doing.
