Re: Diary of a Lock Poker Pro (DISCLAIMER: I'm not really a Lock Poker pro, it was a joke from

Hey folks, didn't play yesterday as I didn't feel great, think I ate something bad. Felt a bit better at the start of tonight, would've probably played a little if it was my own money but didn't want to risk it. Around 4am I felt much better though so had a small hour session, 400 hands. Finished -1BI due to this hand:

PokerStars - $0.16 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): $19.46
SB: $16.61
BB: $28.64
UTG: $16.00
MP: $17.55
CO: $22.56

SB posts SB $0.08, BB posts BB $0.16

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.24) Hero has A A

UTG raises to $0.37, fold, CO calls $0.37, Hero raises to $1.60, fold, fold, UTG raises to $16.00 and is all-in, fold, Hero calls $14.40

Flop: ($32.61, 2 players) Q J 6

Turn: ($32.61, 2 players) T

River: ($32.61, 2 players) 4

UTG shows K A (Straight, Ace High)
(Pre 7%, Flop 21%, Turn 97%)
Hero shows A A (One Pair, Aces)
(Pre 93%, Flop 79%, Turn 3%)
UTG wins $31.14

Sucks, but what can you do? Just the one other interesting hand, flopping quads, is bombing river OK here?

PokerStars - $0.16 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $16.00
Hero (SB): $19.85
BB: $16.00
UTG: $20.45
MP: $16.52
CO: $16.57

Hero posts SB $0.08, BB posts BB $0.16

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.24) Hero has J A

UTG calls $0.16, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.80, fold, UTG calls $0.64

I'll be fine don't worry - I pride myself on the mental side of the game

Another pretty brutal day today. Had to move down to 5nl after losing 1.5BIs early on at 10nl, played 1.2k hands or so and was literally fluctuating between +1BI and -1BI the entire night, just couldn't get anything going at all.

Too tired to post any hands etc tonight, and they are only 5/10nl hands anyway i'm sure no-one is interested in that lol.

Need a winning day to turn things around, hopefully tomorrow!

Checked your thread out, hopefully we meet at 16nl and not 5nl!

H2 - When you say aggro whale does that apply to him shoving lightly, calling off lightly or both? I think when you shove 99 he has to stack off really quite light for this to be good.

H3 - If the guy is an aggro whale I think that your flop bet can just be so much bigger to explain him calling far too wide. I'd be tempted to check the turn as we block so much and x/r or bet big on basically all rivers. Dunno if this is better than just a standard b/b/b line.

H4 - I don't think you dominate this board enough to want to slow play, people have enough of the board for you to bet and let them call down. Definitely take a note on button.

H5 - Although this is just what it is I think 3b/call shove vs UTG with JJ is going to be mighty thin/-EV unless you have some info on villain. I'm at the point where when I GII I look at what villain has and then just move onto action on a different table. I used to watch runouts and it's just a bad habit and even with good mental game it's strain you don't need.

GL though, volume and study will turn it around.

Yeah hopefully! I'm having a conversation with my backers tomorrow, not sure if i'll be getting a reload or what, will wait and see

H2 - When you say aggro whale does that apply to him shoving lightly, calling off lightly or both? I think when you shove 99 he has to stack off really quite light for this to be good.

Yeah both, was playing something like 80/60 the whole night, must've had a few drinks I reckon lol

H3 - If the guy is an aggro whale I think that your flop bet can just be so much bigger to explain him calling far too wide. I'd be tempted to check the turn as we block so much and x/r or bet big on basically all rivers. Dunno if this is better than just a standard b/b/b line.

Was V the same guy in H2, literally the next hand, he's probably swimming in all my money now haha, but yeah I didn't want to get too tricky so just went with the standard b/b/b line (well b/b/c since he donked river)

H4 - I don't think you dominate this board enough to want to slow play, people have enough of the board for you to bet and let them call down. Definitely take a note on button.

Yeah probably being needlessly tricky here, it worked in the sense I got the whale with 23s to bet but unlucky run-out

H5 - Although this is just what it is I think 3b/call shove vs UTG with JJ is going to be mighty thin/-EV unless you have some info on villain. Yeah I had info on villian which made it a pretty standard call, I do that as well - focus on the other table whenever i'm all in but I get curious so had to see what happened lol

GL though, volume and study will turn it around.
Cheers mate, GL with yours too

---------------------

Just so many hands like those, A on the flop every time I had KK/QQ, missing all my draws, getting c/r on boards that are supposed to hit my range etc etc. Been a brutal month so far, don't think i've been playing badly or anything. If I was the type of person to go on tilt etc I would've lost a LOT more, so can take some positives at least. Pfffft tough times, i'll put some of these hands through equilab and in the skype/discord group for discussion - maybe take a day off tomorrow just for pure studying.

Is anyone else having issues with photobucket since they changed the site? Can't seem to upload anything. Anyway i'm -$32.85 (877 hands) today.

Definitely the toughest spell i've been through since starting this thread, I suppose it's just the EV gods taking their EV back

Took a day off today to recharge a little - was going to take the full day off last night but I spent a few hours studying etc and afterwards I felt super confident so decided to play for an hour - totally brutal yet again lost 2BIs

Had a coaching session earlier, went over some hands from the past week and learned a lot so hopefully that will help me get back to winning ways.

I did win my 1st round heads-up match however, was a great game - love playing HU. Just 4 more rounds to go before I get crowned champion

Will definitely be grinding tomorrow, night folks

That'll do - don't see much point posting many hands from 5nl, hopefully i'll move back up soon. Was -$17 when I moved down to 5nl, climbed my way back up to finish the day in profit - first winning day in what feels like ages! (Albeit only a 23c profit :rolleyes)

Photbucket still being annoying so no graphs until I sort it out or stop being lazy and register with imageshack instead

Usually take Saturdays off, have a few drinks and watch the footy etc but with it being an international weekend, i'm not sure. Will see.

Have a good weekend folks!

Re: Diary of a Lock Poker Pro (DISCLAIMER: I'm not really a Lock Poker pro, it was a joke from

Far too tired to do a proper update but decided to play today after the Scotland game - 500 hands at 10nl, up and down, up and down before eventually losing a big pot with AA v 55 to make me have to drop down to 5nl again but I ran much better there and won the money back, total profit of 60 cents omg I can go pro now

Should be grinding again tomorrow, back at 10nl and hopefully this time I won't need to drop down, 5nl is pretty meh after playing 16/25nl for a while. I wouldn't say it's boring since it's still playing poker and I love that but i'm sure you get what I mean lol

Night folks

Re: Diary of a Lock Poker Pro (DISCLAIMER: I'm not really a Lock Poker pro, it was a joke from

Sorry for the lack of updates lately folks, not giving up or anything I promise just been far too tired at the end of the nights to do it lol.

Been back on the grind last few days after my illness, first day back was horrendous, hitting my stop loss and nearly hitting it again after moving down, yesterday was a proper break even grind - 1,790 hands for a $0.20 profit and of course the last 10 hands of the night I run QQ into KK and AK v KK to end up -$15

At least today has been going better so far, caught some heat at last for the first time this month woooo! Still going on though so hopefully it will continue, touch wood.

Time for a break, got some TV to catch up on and i'll go over a couple hands before restarting, I might post some hands later after I finish tonight depends how tired I am. This time of year I like to get into bed early with my book lol. (Yes I really am a 24 year old )

Oh and happy thanksgiving to all you American folk out there, not a big thing here in the UK but I do love turkey, having it tonight for my tea

Re: Diary of a Lock Poker Pro (DISCLAIMER: I'm not really a Lock Poker pro, it was a joke from

I'm far too tired again to do a proper update but the last couple days have been much better on the tables - won 10BIs at 10nl overall, getting out of the funk I was in and starting to win again which is great I will try my best to post some hands tomorrow, i'm sure i'll find the time somewhere since i'm having a day off to have a few drinks/watch the footy etc.

I might just update once or twice a week from now on, I love updating this thread as it keeps me motivated but it does take a lot of time and effort which could go towards something else like studying/playing more hands. So that will mean the 10 freeroll is no longer available, but no-one took me up on it anyway soooo

Have a good weekend folks! Cheers for reading

Haven't updated in a while, been really busy! Last 10 days or so have went much better after a terrible first 3 weeks of the month, back up to 16nl now

Just don't have the spare time to update the thread anymore, spending all of it either studying/matched betting or playing games in the POG section here lol (have a look folks, the games are fun!)

Will try and do a proper update on Saturday after all the footy is finished

Re: Diary of a Lock Poker Pro (DISCLAIMER: I'm not really a Lock Poker pro, it was a joke from

Had an awesome day yesterday, was one hand away from hitting my stop loss and probably having to move back down to 10nl, AIPF with AA v 77 - 7 on the flop but an ace on the turn saved me:

PokerStars - $0.16 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $16.29
SB: $73.19
BB: $20.11
Hero (UTG): $43.84
MP: $13.28
CO: $57.13

SB posts SB $0.08, BB posts BB $0.16

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.24) Hero has A A

Hero raises to $0.48, fold, CO calls $0.48, BTN raises to $0.80, SB calls $0.72, BB calls $0.64, Hero raises to $3.36, CO calls $2.88, BTN raises to $16.29 and is all-in, fold, fold, Hero calls $12.93, fold

Flop: ($37.54, 2 players) Q 7 4

Turn: ($37.54, 2 players) A

River: ($37.54, 2 players) 9

Hero shows A A (Three of a Kind, Aces)
(Pre 80%, Flop 9%, Turn 98%)
BTN shows 7 7 (Three of a Kind, Sevens)
(Pre 20%, Flop 91%, Turn 2%)
Hero wins $36.04

Then after that I climbed my way back up from -$60 to +$100 at the end thought I played superbly, full of confidence right now.

Time for some graphs!

November

Start of stake (3rd October)

Overall, all stakes

Definitely improved my game a ton since starting the staking deal, hopefully December will be a good month and I can cement myself at 25nl.

Sorry about the lack of hands lately, been far too busy to properly update this thread which is a shame

Cheers folks, have a good weekend

Not much to report on the poker front, a rather boring break-even day today.

However on the matched betting front, it's been unbelievable lately. I mean seriously, insane. 725 profit just today with 2 NFL matches (Jets going 14up and losing then just now Steelers 14up then losing) total of 8 booms (full turn arounds) in a week.

Wow, hurtNCYDE you sir, are a legend. Wouldn't have gotten into this without you so cheers mate lol.

Anyone reading this who's interested in learning about it just shoot me a PM, i'm happy to help anyone win some extra money

Good start, finished +2BIs tonight, swingy as hell but I stuck through it and played decent. Too tired to post any hands though, just want to get into bed lol

Haha yeah I know, been lazy with this lately gets to the end of the night and i'm usually just too knackered to post an update and i'm too busy doing matched betting stuff before I start playing to update it then as well lol

Played double the amount of hands I usually do last week, was back at 25nl for a while before losing a few BIs there and having to move down again so grinding 16nl at the minute.

Graph from past week or so:

https://gyazo.com/339ffb8e6a0a883518fa34dd85562d1a

Today hasn't gone as well unfortunately, hit my stop loss hopefully can grind it back later, i'm usually pretty good at comebacks lol
