Took a break from poker due to being breakeven for the past 500 hours. The reason I am starting this PGC thread is to keep me focused and improve my game. I'm hoping I can finally post some chip porn pictures of my own. My ultimate goal is to build a bankroll for 2/5.

OBJECTIVES
1. Build up my BR for 2/5

Goal:

Target Bankroll: $10,000

2. To achieve a winrate of $18-$25 per hour in 1/2 or 1/3 over a sample size of 1000 hours.

Goal:

WR: $18-$25/hr
Hours: 1000 hrs
Profit: $18,000 - $25,000

Current statistics (9/19/2013 - 10/7/2013)

WR: $47.36/hr
Hours: 56 hrs
Profit: $2,667
BR: $4,000

So you played 56 hours since you quit after your 500 hour break even stretch?

Session 1: 6 hrs. /+225

Stuck a buy-in within the first hour. Card dead pretty much the whole night and not a lot of opportunities to be aggressive especially with a LAG-ish player on my right. Grinded till I got back most of my first buy-in.

Hand 1

V (~300): young asian exchange student, very loose pre as I saw him flat 3-bet with A7o and call open raises with pretty much anything suited. Capable of bluffing and semi-bluffing as he shoved river with a busted flush draw.

H (~180): Nitty image. Haven't been in any significant pots.

V limps in ep, folds to hero with AA and raises to $15 in CO, folds to V who calls.

Flop ($33): T 9 5 r

V checks, H bets $30, V calls

Turn ($93): V checks, H bets $70, V c/r all-in, H calls

V had 87 for the straight

Hand 2

V (~200): 20's european kid. Loose, plays any two suited cards, and likes to min-raise as bluff/semi-bluff.

H (covers): Reloaded for 300 and grinded it up to ~450

UTG straddles, V calls in UTG+1, H with JJ raise to $20 in UTG+2, folds around to V who calls.

Flop ($48): A 5 5 r

V checks, H bets $25, V c/r $50, H calls

Turn ($148): Js

V checks, H checks

River ($148): 9s completing the bd flush

V bets $50, H ships, V calls

V 7s4s for flush

Hand 3

V (~700): Young 20's mexican kid. Plays loose-aggressive. Would raise almost every hand IP pre. Capable of 3-betting light. Can find a fold though when people play back at him.

H (~650): Still nitty.

V opens to $12 in LP, folds to hero who 3b AJo OTB to $32, V calls

Flop ($67): 9 7 2 hh

V checks, Hero bets $40, V tank folds

Great flop to c-bet in a 3b pot as his range is mostly broadways that missed. Hoping to get more situations like this against V but never got another opportunity.

Hand 4

V1 (~600): Same mexican kid from previous hand
V2 (~200): Young asian kid. ABC but capable of spewing.
Hero (covers): Nitty

V2 limps in MP, V1 raises to $16 in CO, folds to hero with AQo in SB and tank calls, V2 calls

Hero contemplating whether to 3b or not..

Flop ($50): A 8 2 hh

Hero checks, V2 checks, V1 bets $30, Hero tank calls, V1 folds

Again, I thought about re-raising but decided to just call to keep the pot from getting enormous.

Turn ($110): 9h

V bets $45, Hero calls

His bet is smallish, his range is weighted towards Ax, raising him here would fold out hands I beat like AJ, AT, A9, etc..

River ($200): 2

H checks, V tank checks

I said I have an Ace and he said "me too".. tabled my AQ and it was good.

Session 2: 4 hrs/-384

Played poorly today.

Mistakes:

- Made a bad river call against an old man with almost zero bluffing frequency
- Made a very bad play with AA against hyper LAG see: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...r-lag-1379182/

I felt I was off the moment I sat down. My mind wasn't sharp and focused and I paid the price.

Things to work on:
- Pre-game routine
- Planning for the hand
- Beating LAGs

Session 4: 5 hrs/-$100

Card dead for the past 3 sessions. AA and KK cracked in big pots. Got to work on my barreling and bluffing though and picked up a bunch of decent pots (through bluffs) to keep me a float.

I still find myself playing JT type of hands OOP when there's a raise and a couple of callers. It put me in bad spots a couple of times.

I'm going to take a couple of days off since it's my birthday. Hopefully, things will turn around next week.

Session 5: 5 hrs/+177

Played a B/C+ game tonight. Made a terrible call with tpgk against a solid player. Also failed to extract value with my trips against trips with worse kicker.

Really need to work on my handreading during the session. I find that im always mentally drained lately. I need to fix this issue as its affecting my thinking during sessions.

I'm getting so frustrated! I've been dealing with a cold deck for the past 2 weeks.. Causing me to overplay hands and calling down lighter. I have to set some rules...

Rule 1. Do not play more than 3 hours on days I workout. I usually workout before my session and I feel too tired to focus and concentrate.

Rule 2. If card dead for 3 hours, go home.

Rule 3. Stop calling semi-aggros down light.

Things I seriously need to work on:

- Putting people on a range
- Value Betting/Thin VB

So far after 6 sessions:

30 hrs/-362

Overall I felt like I played my best poker in awhile. Having playable hands early in the session helped me hit my stride. I think I played aggressively and it played out well as most of the table are weak passive.

Not many interesting hands except for one where a fishy reg tried to bluff me off my nut flush when theres 4 cards to the flush on the board.

I don't know if I played my draws to aggressively. I flopped OESD twice. The first one I took down with a C/R on the flop and the second I hit and got paid in 3 streets.

Definitely need to play around pokerstove and get a handle on equities on situations like this and many others.

I hope the rungood continues..

Played terrible!

Played too loose and spewed being too aggressive with my draws.

Started out up about 300 then got coolered when i flopped trips against trips with bigger kicker

Started out this session on fire, building up my stack to just over 1000 then i lost about 200 ish to a maniac when he shoved almost 300bb on the river when i had AQdd on a A9844r board... Still thinking i made a bad fold... Just dont think i can handle losing that hand.

Anyways ive going to start setting goals per session and also implement dgi brm where i leave the table when 10-20% of my br is in play.

Session 10: 6 hrs/-$300
Session 11: 3 hrs/+$353

Made some adjustments to my game:

[x] Tighten Cold Calling range
[x] Make bets larger when Isolating preflop
[x] Avoid playing SC OOP

Things to work on:

[ ] Putting people on Ranges before I take any action
[ ] Better SPR manipulation
[ ] Knowing when it's time to go home

Also should start taking advantage of winning/lucky image. I find that people feared me last night because I was winning every hand I played. One recfish with a big stack even adviced me that I should go out and have dinner so I wouldnt be in the table.

I hope I can get a winning streak going. I really want to build that roll so I can take shots at 2/5.

Session 12: 6 hrs/-700

Played my A-game early in the session in my first table where I got my stack up to $500 from 300.

Moved to a really loose and aggressive table where people are just calling open raises and 3 bets lightly.

Picked my spots but couldnt capitalize..

Hand 1

I raised JTo to $25 in BTN to isolate, which is a mistake at this table since people are calling most of the time, and ended up with 6 callers. Flop was Q T 9 hh, EP makes a small donk bet, 1 caller, and I tank call on the BTN. Turn card is a 7h completing the flush. EP leads out, loose player calls, and I just give up.

Hand 2

Rec player opens 12 in EP (wide: A2s+, JT+, 22+), Taggy Reg calls, Hero 3b to 40 in BTN, both calls. Flop 8 5 2 ccc checks to hero and I bet 75, Rec player calls, Reg folds. Turn Jh, Rec checks I shove, Rec snap calls with the nut flush... Speewww...

Hand 3

Taggy Reg opens to 12 in MP which is wide based on bet sizing, I 3b with AA in BTN to 32, shortstacker in SB tank calls, Gambool in BB calls, Reg calls. Flop J 5 6hh, checks to hero and I bet 70, SS shoves 100, Gambool shoves 300, reg folds, Hero Snaps. Board runs out J 5h 6h 2c 8h. SS tables AQcc, Gambool shows K8hh, Hero mucks AA face down.

I dont think I'll play until Wednesday or Thursday night. I'm going to study and play around with Flopzilla so I can get a better feel for board textures in 3b pots. I really want to improve my 3 betting strategy as I feel this is where I will get an edge against the regs.

Things to work on this week:

* 3-Betting
** Memorizing equities
*** More handreading practice
