Wasn't sure where to go here, not been in this position much and from experience I usually assume the villain's 3bet range looks like aces, kings or AK. Looks like either fold flop or XC turn, but I'm not sure which one to choose.

Looks well played. The flop call is standard to try improve your hand by hitting an A K or spade. As played the turn is real bad for us so folding seems optimal

By default I assume 3bet range to be real tight and most of this beats me. The only thing I beat is QQ and this line suggests a slowplayed big hand. In retrospect I'm happy with it



I probably shouldn't have 3bet here, their range will always beat me (no info). I think the cbet is decent given the equity but the river call was probably bad given these circumstances.

Why does this keep happening



I think I could/should have folded the turn. In the rarefied atmosphere of 2NL there isn't a lot of check raising, so in my experience this looks like a big hand.

I warmed up by practicing hand reading and I really enjoyed it. I think this will be a staple of my sessions. Very swingy and I thought maybe it's because I'm terrible, but the poker gods let me know that everything is going to be alright. I feel as though I played relatively well. Red line straight around 0 rather than a nosedive which is nice.

I spoke to my therapist and my condition doesn't appear bad. The losing as slowed! I feel like I'm playing the best so far and am making much better decisions. With that said here are a ton of mistakes



As soon as I saw the turn, I knew it could only be jacks (or possibly AJ). KQ probably isn't in his range very often.



It's nice to finally win some hands!



Thinking about this now, given I checked the turn I would expect a J/2/7 to bet the river and would get a call from smaller pairs of which there are 6 (putting 4 above me, and jacks are less likely when one has fallen). I should have bet the river.




Is this too timid? I don't think T9 is in his 3bet calling range; it's more likely has has an overpair or maybe even AJ that floated the flop.



I knew I should fold, but did not. There's no hand in his range that doesn't beat me. I guess I called on the off chance he wasn't tight and got there with a small pair, which will never happen. I think I could have found a fold on turn too; looks like the only hand I'm beating is AQ or the less likely AT

Villain looked fishy, high vpip albeit over a short sample and on his phone. I figured the turn was a call with TPTK.



Knew this was a better flush OTF because it can't be anything else. Can I fold though?

The dumb call that put the session in the red. A flush, a J or a T beats me and he leads river after thinking for a few seconds



My plan was to bet turn then check river unless I improved. Is this fine?

Low on play recently, but I've got time off work soon and I'll get some quality play in then. Played some free entry $1 turbo and super turbo SnGs and destroyed them.

Checking behind when only 2 hands beat you is a mistake. First of all he checked, meaning he probably doesn't have one of the 2 hands that beat you and if he does thats fine. You shouldn't be trying to avoid that situation. He could have pocket pairs 99-AA though the larger pocket pairs are less likely. He could also have A8 or just any 8. And he could have some random garbage that doesn't make sense to you but he still might call a showdown with. So many more combinations of hands that could call you and only 2 that beat you. Checking back there is a big mistake. You can't wait for the nuts to bet for value.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. If I was in that spot again I would most likely do all of the same things and bet river, probably all-in as we both have about 50bb in the pot and $1 is around half.

Not played much recently as work has been rough but I've still been studying consistently, mostly watching videos with some reading mixed in. What little I have played has been pretty relaxing which is cool.



Over a small sample this guy seemed fishy and figured he was spazzing out OTT.



Weird hand. I don't usual try to steal from SB but for some reason I did here and every street seemed reasonable to bet.



CO was master of his school. I decided not to get it in OTF as I didn't want to scare him off - I didn't know if he would get it in with whatever he raised with right there but turn made it easy. He's most likely not raising a FD like that and if it's a set, I admit defeat (who knows if he 3bets 99/TT, maybe??). Is this an awful approach?

Uncertain about the turn call. He's probably cbetting most of his range I'm not sure he's barreling with worse. To me it's more likely he's strong given the flush card; either has has the flush or a good hand, in this case probably a set or big pair.



Decent player, 24/18 over 100 hands on multiple tables. Hadn't seen him get caught bluffing. Calling a 3bet OOP gives him something like {ATs+, AJo+, TT-JJ} and perhaps 99. Not really sure if KJs/KJo is calling there. I erred on the side of caution and let it go. An A or Q is hugely blocked and I would hope he'd 4bet kings. Input appreciated

I've been thinking about aggression and continuing ranges recently.



Do hands like AJ call this river bet? Flush draws are folding anyway, maybe hands like TT as well.



I'm not sure if this turn bet is good. I want to keep Ts and lower pocket pairs in the game, so it seems like a better strategy is checking back OTT and either calling or betting if checked to OTR. AT, KJ etc seem more likely to call a second small bet on the river than to call turn aggression on that board.



dunno how to play straight draws lol. I'm not sure people are XRing flush draws much so I would say he's sporting a set or even something like ATcc. I called the flop as it's a fairly small raise. I think I would probably call that turn bet as it seems likely he'll barrel the river, which is pretty good if I hit my nut straight and I could raise river/try to get stacks in if there's no club and the board doesn't pair.



Villain takes the standard "I missed the flop" line so I figure I'd make a little river bluff. It didn't turn out too stellar, but it doesn't look awful; it's not a good card for pairs like 66-99 and things like AJ+ (or a 2).



I'm tempted to say check turn call river, but I'm not sure as I can check back OTR in most cases. In my experience this kind of bet is a "I have a hand and don't want you to check back" bet.



The stack size should have clued me in.
