Thumbs up DanteA's way towards fame and fortune in MTTs

Hi there folks!

I am DanteA, been at this forum for a couple of years and also had several unsuccessful PG&C threads. This is an attempt for me to take poker more seriously and to play better and evolve as a human being. I have put up a few goals that I will follow that I think are crucial for me to be successful. Important to note is that poker is only fun for me. I have a real job that is 40+ hours a week.

I will play multi table tournaments and 180 man sit n gos. Since my bank account is my real bankroll I will not strictly follow bankroll management guidelines. I play under the screen name AIKn1 on PokerStars and mostly play small stakes MTTs and SNGs.

Financials:
Starting BR: $500
Session results:
Number of FTs/total MTTs:
Number of FTs/total SNGs:

Goals:
-C-bet less
-Open less weak hands in early position
-Analyse a couple of hands after every session or before next session
-Play my A-game 80% of the time I play
-Have a stop loss, if I am playing terrible I will stop reg
-Never play more than 9 tournaments and/or 12 SNGs

Lets do this. Lets change from donter to doer.

Good luck all this sunday!

Re: DanteA's way towards fame and fortune in MTTs

Played a session on sunday and then a small session on monday. Had some good stacks but couldn't get anything going when getting deep. Nothing to worry about.

Financials:
Starting BR: $500
Session results: -$82
Ending BR: $418
Number of FTs/total MTTs: 0/26
Number of FTs/total SNGs:

This past week I have been busy with playing a qualification to the swedish golf tour. Played horrible the first day and decent the second day but it was not enough to qualify for the next stage. On the first day I hit two balls out of bounds on the 7th hole and I made a quadruple. I knew that if I was gonna qualify I needed to go around par on all the other holes, which I didn't. So I fell short with like 7 shots or something. I did this because I love golf and to prove myself. I will surely try this again next year with hopefully a better mental strength.

Now onto the grind and try to win some $$$. Good luck all playing today!

Card dead for more than an hour and when I finally decide to defend my BB when SB raises, which he has done constantly he wakes up with KK. K7 < KK.

5th of 20671 for $319.75. Nice with a score and a deep run but sucks to not win after being first basically from 100 players down to two tables. As expected the field was extremely soft.

        GG.

Re: DanteA's way towards fame and fortune in MTTs

Pretty boring to have another deep run in Big $22. Got 42th for $130 after TT < 44 < AJ where AJ hit the flush on the river.

Would have been top top 10 stack and in really good shape. Also had a run in Hot $11 and some other tournaments. Second day with profit in a row. Yay.

        Financials:
        Starting BR: $412
        Session results: +$263
        Ending BR: $675
        Number of FTs/total MTTs: 1/125

Gonna take tomorrow off probably. Had enough of poker this weekend.

Good luck to all you heroes out there.

Re: DanteA's way towards fame and fortune in MTTs

So almost a month has gone since starting this thread. Have grinded 1-2 times a week and I am really happy with my play.

The past two weeks I have had some decent runs but didn't manage to top the winners stand. Yesterday I got 10th in $4.40 Progressive Super-Knockout after dominating a fair bit late game. When we came down to f2t I got pretty card cold but I was still active and unfortunately got a lot of shoves on me when I held bad cards.

        10th $4.40 Progressive Super-Knockout on sunday
        13th $8.80+R on saturday
        59th $8.80+R on sunday
        42nd Big $22
        99th Big $11
        29th Big $22
        5th Common Cents $0.55

        Graph so far:

Had this hand versus ProtentialMN which is a good reg. He knows who I am but we haven't played that much versus each other. Don't have many hands on him.

It's from sunday 8r and he recently got moved to the table. What do you think of my play here?

Then today I had this for 55th place. http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-h...716_62D8A0E240

Finally a decent score. Was happy after a lot of close calls to finally get a good score. Got in with 77 vs A6 the last hand and he binked the A unfortunately.

        How do you motivate yourself?

To learn poker I rail a lot. I am amazed by the effort some people put into this game. Take for example the guys in the TLB Leaderboard, Asjbaaaf, aguskb, iwasdjwtf, they grind day in and day out. I played on friday and yesterday and 3-4 hours into my session yesterday I didn't even want to play resulting in me playing my c game. How do you even motivate yourself playing that much? What motivates me is the $$$. But that doesn't always work.

Today I am playing another small session. Let's win some $$$ today instead.

Re: DanteA's way towards fame and fortune in MTTs

Im trying to learn moonwalk, side glide and circle glide with this video. I've spent a total of 40 minutes and I am decent good at moonwalk and sucky at side glide. My goal is to be able to do these within a month. So I am gonna upload a video 19th of december so we can all see my progress. I've always wanted to be able to dance, let's make it a reality.

On the poker side I haven't played that much. Played yesterday and came 50th something in Big $5.50 after a super spew with 77 on 5354 board after BB flat my raise. I knew he was holding something super strong but last second decided against it and he showed 33. Not happy with my game.

On a positive side I got a new job which gives me more $$$ and a lot of free days in december (since I start the new job 7th of january) which I can spend on learning to dance, grind and read some books.

These last couple of days has been unreal. Just gonna ascertain that I have had some deep runs but ran incredibly bad. AA < A9 with approx 100 left in daily double. AK < AQ ITM in Big 82, TT < A5 on 859 board in 8r among a lot of other stuff.

The thing is that I am not sure if I play my A game or my C game because it feels like I lose 3/4 of the pots I play. I guess I just have to grind it out.

This weekend it's the swedish nationals. Over $115k up top with a $220 buy in. Will be really exciting to play that one. And hopefully I can squeeze in one more session before that. Also gonna try to hit the books inbetween so I gain some more confidence.

Also decided to mix in some c-walk stuff into my dance repertoire. Going well thus far.
