I never start my posts with a pic, but this one speaks a thousand truths... Enuff said

Convenient, right, not only as a fracking cyber-otherworldly-bot-half-machine-half-not-earthling that Kahwi is, but also as a P-U-R-E/I-C-Y WhiteWalker coming to invade all of our Sunday evenings

Wow, did anybody see that Milwaukee spanking at the hands of Boston

After a month here, I believe it might be time to look back and reflect upon our initial goals :

Poker : My run good has been sensational (and a sunrun it is, as I feel that I mainly play my steady B-B+ game...) and we are just north of that elusive 50k in a month that we had not had attained since last November yo We have more than doubled the min of 25k that I was aiming for during my Peruvian stint, but let's keep this going, shall we not

Dating : I mean, I was all over the place when I first got here (having up to 4 different dates in a week ), but have since calm down. The laws of statistics would predict that given that 1/3 of my Peruvian journey has expired, that I will not be engaging in a LTR relationship just yet... It might end up being for the best, honestly, as what I desire the most in the imminent future, is to bink a mid 6 fugure+ score yo, hence more likely than not putting me back on the MTT trail come November

Exercise : Ehhhh, I always falter in this area of my life and such has also been the case over here, ffs. I do walk a few kms a day, but still...

Weight Loss bet : Another area of eeehhhh... I have lost perhaps 2-3lbs since Europe, but not much more... I might actually fall short of the desired 192lbs come September, but ending up at 195lbs would not be such a disaster really

Chances are I will pretty hit the road once my AirBnB expires in 3 weeks time, but we will see, as I am still REALLY enjoying Lima yo

I'm just stopping by to tell you I really enjoy your blog and the way you see life I can relate to you not wanting to become more yuppieish. But maybe that's just a balance in life one achieves due to experiences that show one the good sides of the other end of the spectrum.

That does not necessarily mean one is giving up their own values. Probably just a healthy process and inbetween yuppies you will still be the one understanding the good ol' hippies.

Much success!

Non-Binary

I got me hoodie out as the temperatures have dropped in Lima, going from a tropical wave-heat of 30c+ (86f+ for you Americans ) to 20c in the span of a couple of days It remains obviously comfortable, but the fact that the sun is now timid af and lacks the courage to stick his head out of his cloudy hiding, made everyone get their autumn jackets out

I messaged this cute French-Canadian hippie chick from the Lima FB Expat page asking her to meet up for a coffee ; she is a digital-nomad (translator) with quite a few tattoos, mid-30s, has travelled extensively and seems quite cool No answers yet, but reaching out to ladies by ways of new mediums seems like a fine proposal yo Although I always approach these encounters (like I do with all my dates, really...) on equalitarian/friendly terms, as opposed to strictly sexual, you know Which brings me to a brief encounter yesterday : I was Sunday strolling in Miraflores, enjoying the leisure of just walking around, eating out on a patio, getting a massage etc. when my glance got sucked into the one of a gorgeous af Goddess Peruvian lady For a few seconds, the world faded and we were in perfect symbiosis until... Nothing I turned around to spot if she would do the same, prompt to go talk to her and all... but alas, nothing : the crowd absorbed her as well as our elusive moment... These missed opportunities do happen frequently - if they can evev be considered as so... -, but at least I managed to put the odds on my side when I was more than willing to engage in conversation yo

Thx for chiming in bro and sharing your insight, I truly appreciate it Yeah, I agree with you and it is silly to even think in binary terms as far as hippyish or yuppyish goes, as it might deter us from being nuanced... Or even thinking in terms of right-left, conservative-liberal as it keeps dividing us furthermore, might prompt us to buy into beliefs we initially disagree with, or simply lock up our perception of the world into a fracking box I have many different interests, many of which can seemingly appear to be contradictory, but ultimately interact well with each other (meditation, poker etc.). And yes, I do love to indulge to yuppyish tendencies when it comes to elegant women, dining and the comfort of nice hotels, even if I am still categorized as a hippie by a few peeps

A Smile

Humour has always been a facet of mine, especially back then in my teens/20s when hanging out in groups of friends and managing to get everyone cracked up was a good way to breakthrough my timidity So as is naturally the case of qualities when handily exploited, it simply becomes an intrinsic part of your personality yo Anyhow, the moment I noticed myself becoming instinctively humorous in Spanish was an "aha" moment of "hey man, I am getting there", much like yesterday when I got 3 Peruvians laughing in hilarity

I got my taxes done, a date tonight in a restaurant by the sea, am still riding this wave of an upswing - minus live ehhhh , but that will come once I start grinding live MTTs again yo - and I have basically reached my 2019 min goal for savings yo The summer weather is also back which is a warm unexpected welcome ; also soon to be back : my lady friend, albeit I do not expect much in that romantic stratosphere and I will hence most likely end up in Chile for that tournament series followed by perhaps Cuernavaca Mexico (even though it would be pleasant to go visit new countries like Argentina and Brazil, I think I'd rather head towards hotter weather).

Bar Codes

Even if there are still 3 days remaining to the bi-monthly RR, I am calling it quits. I find myself in 2nd place, am guaranteed a top 3 and the leader just past me this morning after I was showing signs of ehhhhh… let's say vulnerability AKA fatigue for the past few days. So anyhow, I might put in a live session (but probably not) and a few hours online for the remainder of the week, but will focus mainly on visiting a few areas in Lima, hanging out (I have a friendly date with the first Peruvian lady I dated last year ; she has a bf, but is cool af and am really happy we will be meeting again. She is actually gf material, but I did not feel like staying in Lima/sacrificing my freedom last time around…) and spending time outside enjoying the sun yo

Left to do in Lima : visit the city centre - yeah, I have yet to do so - ; paragliding - not a guarantee, as I am scared of heights, but would be a great way to (over)see the city yo - ; try a few specific restaurants - I have a reservation at Maido (rated top 10 in the world), but it conflicts with the tourneys in Chile

As far as post-Lima, I am setting my sights on a few options as until early August (where I will be travelling to Quebec City, Rimouski and Le Fleuve St-Laurent for my parent's 50th), I don't really feel like going back to Canada just yet... Of course, when you have all of Latin America in your front yard, who wants to go back to Canadian soil, right, be it summer or not I mentioned previously the options of Iquitos (ayahuasca), Santiago, Chile (tourneys) and Cuarnavaca, Mexico (and perhaps San Cristobal...), but am also really curious to check out Buenos Aires, Argentina. The weather will be dropping quite soon, but it is a place (along with Brazil) that has been on my list for a while now. Anyhow...

I mean I find those labels pretty useful. And I will always be more hippy than yuppie, but those labels are pretty bad if you are not aware they are just labels. It will hinder to see things that you could like in a yuppie life.

Nonetheless, hippy is a synonym for having a sense for interconnectedness and how it might be good to see we are not the only human and/or living organism of the planet and we have to take care of that. Yuppies for me are more self-centered and spend money on things they don't need, so I am still weighed towards being a hippy.

But some yuppie-stuff is obviously great fun or enjoyment since money can buy you pretty nice experiences and things

Outside the living room's window, Lima's glorious afternoon is golden and sunny as can be... And in a few hours waits a reservation for 2 in a coveted and splendid restaurant by Inca ruins with a lovely lady, yet... none of this matters Not when the Toronto Raptors are down 2-1 in the series and might get stomped by the fracking Minotaur and his siblings in game #3

So I got back home at past 22:00 on Thursday, put on league pass in one window (the game was long over), 2 + 2 on another, read your post and came to the conclusion that the Raps had just won and all was well in the world It was with a smile on my face that I proceeded to watch the game, right, as what could go wrong even if Toronto was down 6 in the first quarter, 15 in the 2nd, 20 in the 3rd... FML, your post had come midway through the game

All kidding/narrative of this post aside, I feel quite comfortable heading into game 4. Not Orlando Magic comfortable, but Raps are still a coin flip for the series according to Vegas and we have Kahwi ... for now

Edit : Pascal Siakam is listed as doubtful for game #4, which (almost) spells doom for the Raps... Think dropping the series and most likely losing Kahwi this summer...

I am reluctant (and not cynical enough) to confine Yuppie values to strictly egotistical self-interest, but prefer to acknowledge areas in which this professional group contributes to : like modernization, technology, education, culture, (certain forms of) progress etc. For example, when we look back into Quebec's own transition from the Dark Era of Duplessis (pre 1920-60) into The Quiet Revolution of the 1960s, peeps holding professional liberal jobs were crucial in taking political power (the English were our bosses at the time/politically ruling the province), withstanding the pressure from the Catholic church and striving for a modern and liberal society (we were quite feudal and ruled by the church). Similarly, you can witness a reversal effect in Cambodia, for instance, that saw its society regress after the elite was wiped out by the Khmer Rouge... But I digress

I use to view life much more through binary terms when I was younger ; being Quebecois and all (and independentist at the time), I thought of Western English Canadian Rednecks as racist, narrow-minded, shallow, right-wingers, religious etc., failing to realize that their closeness to nature, minimalistic approach, (certain) refusal of technology (privileging the simplicity of fishing and hunting, outdoorsy activities etc.), was a necessary counter-balance to Yuppies, for example, who over-indulge into consumption and technology, thus distancing themselves from living a balance life in tune with nature. Ohhh lala, the complicity of it all, right, where we find ourselves at the paradoxical conundrum of finding our species more advanced as humans and with a better quality of life (for the most part...), but at what price when Mother Earth is dying
Spoiler:
Also, for me to previously radically refuse Yuppie values was going against my own familial roots of having upper-middle class parents that privilege education, stability, comfort etc, values that are not intrinsically bad, as per se...

Earth Shattering

Parque Kennedy in Miraflores has a ton of these wild-but-domesticated-friendly cats roaming around, provided by the city so peeps can enjoy them for the lapse of a day, let their kids play with them. So late this afternoon an unexpected scenario unfolded in between of these lone animals as I was walking back home from lunch/a massage : I noticed a ton of folks stopping to watch 2 cats face each other, so I also halted all activities. It was 2 males engaged in an epic showdown that would put to shame the most innovative Western movies Albeit barely any hissing was made, the cats were still involved in a showdown of the ages... I mean, this was a f**king battle of the worlds and all of us, standing there dumbfounded, knew that the grounds were about to tear upon from the rupture of an otherworldly earthquake if one of the felines happen to make a move... But such would not be the case, as one of the fury adversaries slowly turned his back (something must of been agreed upon in cat language, as no fracking way you turn your back to fracking death staring you down without prior peace being agreed upon...) and walked away untouched If this showdown would maintain a certain level of subtlety, the one waiting the Raps would be fracking in their face

I was really surprised to see the line move from 1.8x for the Raps before Siakam's injury was made public, to 2.4x today an hour prior to the game I mean, even with Toronto being slight dogs and all, I almost jumped on the 2.4x odds until... I became a chickenshyt of even wagering 200$

I am still concerned about this series moving forward, mostly due to Pascal's health, but Embid being idem unhealthy thus far has tipped things in our favour

Dust and Bones

All quiet on the Lima front : the power just went down in my building (for the 2nd time today), so promptly called my session quits, grabbed my laptop, my little (electronic) ones and headed off to my favourite cafe yo

My lady friend just got back from Barcelona so we will meet again this week ; my expectations are set pretty low though... Much like the Tor-Phil series, I am approaching this dating scenario cautiously albeit assertively... But unlike the basketball game, I believe the odds do not sway in my favour - like not at all, perhaps in the 13% region -, as I believe that she prefers alpha types (and more superficial men, perhaps...) as opposed to an introverted soft type... Time will tell

If not, not much... There is another pretty prospect I will meet in the upcoming days (architect and classy 36 year old chick yo ), we just started the last bi-monthly RR online (am in first place, but the 2nd fellow is an annoying little prick who just happens to have this bloated self-confidence from winning the previous one ), will go catch a movie tonight/practice my Spanish and grind some live 5 card PLO as well this week

Thx bro, those are some strong compliments

I grind midstakes online (mainly 8 tables of 400NL on a European site with some PLO as well) and a few mid-highstakes live MTTs (usually revolving around 5k ME or 10k FOs) ; I do play some low-midstakes live as well mainly for entertaining purposes/a social outlet (like when in Dawson, Vancouver or here in Lima).

But I have to admit I study a lot since I have started specializing on 6m non ante only this year and play only 4 tables for improvement... and game selection ain't the best because I like to battle to improve

Nice waterfall and go with having an enjoyable day with her

Twisting and Turning

Despite putting in some solid volume in the past 2 days, I still find myself in 2nd in the RR ; that first place is on a mission and his statement is resonating loud and clear across his Kingdom : he will not be dethroned Fine. The plan was never to focus immensely on the grind during my Latin America stint. So I will let him be and aim for top 2-3 yo Especially after taking a 6k or so hit over the past 24h, it is time to reduce the volume to 30h a week

The crossroad ahead at the end of May, consists of pokerz in Chile on one side of the fork or Ayahuasca and the Peruvian jungle on the other. I am presently leaning towards Ayahuasca baby even if it (still) scares the living shyt out of me Not if I took a similar dose as previously, mind you, but I do plan on going really f**king deep My lady friend has (subtly) expressed a strong desire to go to Iquitos/do Aya, so even if things do not pan out in between us (again, low odds ), I have no qualms at all with staying platonic and focussing as joint spirituality brothers and sisters of the world

Yeah, my hourly is elite (100$+/h online), but I take nothing for granted with the forever changing landscape of the virtual world. My live MTT WR has been even higher, but lol variance As far as low-midstakes live, I maintain a solid 30-50$/h, which is a nice little extra for a game that I just about never bring my A game to

Narrative Fallacies

WOJ dropped a bomb 2 days ago. Like a TITANIC-HIROSHIMA-NAGASAKI-A-BOMB, enough anyhow to shatter open Toronto's earth and send earthquake-like ripple effects across the country : Kahwi is seriously contemplating on signing a long term contract with the Raptors And now this is WOJ, not some fracking deadbeat writer trying to garner some cyber attention Yet... he chooses to drop this bombshell (conveniently) after what has been named as a franchise-defining win in Game 4 over Phily I mean would he have came out with this interview had the Raps lost... It is funny, right, as when you look at Game 4 that Toronto somehow came away with (which could of easily be considered a coin-flip...), the narrative flows from one spectrum to another : from death-and-gloom to resigning our Savior And that is the thing with this fracking lifetime in which we look to explain/justify everything : this impression that any overarching narrative encompasses 100% truth despite its prior equity... Bull fracking crap and we all know this as poker players, but still oftentimes get lured by the glitter of this impression... I believe a multi-verse - imaginary or not - in which all potential equity outcomes exist in alternative realities, makes much more sense

Got hit by bad variance once again this morning when I dropped 3 BIs in the span of 2 minutes, for example, when I lost all these AIPF hands : AK < AK, AQs < A9o, AJ < A10, thus upping my damage to almost 10k in 2 days Tilt does not affect me a lot nowadays, but I don't think I was playing much better than my B- to B+ game to begin with during my upswing, hence finding myself in some middling/above-average playing mentality... Which is fine, I guess, but decreasing my volume might be the best approach moving forward... Another concerning note : the games were amazing last month Like otherworldly. Think less pros (which are now back) and at times 2-3 recs per table, which is simply unheard of in 2019 Where as now there is perhaps 1 rec every 2-3 tables All this being said, I am still above expectations for my online hourly (150$) and would of happily snap-taken a 45k upswing in 5 weeks, obviously, if I was offered the chance prior

Hi! What's up?

Have you tried Insanity workout program ( https://www.beachbodyondemand.com/pr...anity/workouts ) I used it when I had gotten somewhat fat at age 19 closing 20. ? Lost full 10kg first month. For me it would be best fitness / weightloss gain per time spent. But you need a fitness room with 1 more more mirrors to follow your movement to be exact.

Other drawback is it's very difficult and max heartrate and / or puking can be achieved depending if you push really hard as suggested.

But else I'd really recommend it, very good gain per hour spend exercising.

Tiltity Fracking Tilt

- HAMMERING by the AirBnB owner downstairs at 10am... Check

- Me stepping out of my overpriced AirBnB apartment tilted af in my pyjas to go talk to the owner... Fracking Check

- Me previously waking up to not only nails being forced in a door but a 2 day 12.5k downswing... FML Check

- Me f**king fed up with this pad (despite it being a Superhost) and counting down the 2 weeks left here... Ehhhh ch... chh... Check

I would of usually not bothered to show myself with my funky morning hair, grumpy-tilting looking face if it was not for the fact that I had previously (a couple weeks back) received a complaint for playing poker at 9pm, of all things I mean, I get that the beeping noises from the computer can be tilting af for the next door neighbour when the walls are thinner then a thin fracking sheet And then the owner (who is conveniently in Spain renting some overpriced pads while trying to previously charge me an extra 100$ (that is another story...)) pulled out a "In my country"... Don't f**king try to play the patriotic-paternalistic-nationalistic of You-are-a-Gringo-and-this-is-my-country card on me ; nope, nada, no fracking way, not when you are using AirBnB as a medium to 2x+ the prices Rant over

So apparently 5 figures in 2 days is my threshold for tilting I was impressed with how 7k (I believe...) on the first night did not even send the slightest of ripples of of tilt through my body, but a second day of similar outrageous downswinging sent me in a vortex-of-a-fracking-downward-emotional-spiral-until-hell-meets-the-Ice-Ages

If not of trying to dig myself of this (mini) Abyss, I might just do a 5-6h mini-retreat sometime very soon, giving the amounting fatigue over the past 10 days... In other news : time for the Raps to close the series tonight

6h was the magical number to release some of that heavy tension inhabiting my ehhh corpse I did manage to put in 3h of poker in the afternoon, but had to revert promptly to vipassana as pushing myself furthermore mentally was just not going to cut it Anyhow, I am now getting used to these cyclical burnout issues relating to poker, where I reach my peak exhausting levels before sitting cross-legged for 1-3 days ; rinse, repeat. Curiously, the fixed variable seems to be that this TITANIC fatigue following MASSIVE upswings, go figure...
Spoiler:
Which does bring oneself to think about the relevance of Karma in life, right...

I have pretty much set my mind on moving on from Lima, skipping out the Chilean MTTs - ehhhh am fracking tired with da pokerz atm - and heading towards the more lenient weather of Iquitos - Ayahuasca baby - and eventually up north towards Mexico yo Of course, the only thing that would sway these plans is my lady friend, the same one that I seem to be pushing little to no equity with like, you know, that desperate attempt to X/R flop with that gutter and overcard, barrel desperately turn and river vs a Calling Station Well, to be fair, she has shown signs of interests when I gave her the ultimatum of all or nothing today

Ehhhh, game 7 tomorrow I feel my will fracking rupture itself if the score is too tight Losing vs Milwaukee in 6 games in the next round would be the minimum acceptable in calling this season successful, me thinks... And after all, isn't this thrill what it's all about I mean, games had become monotone and meaningless af this season outside of watching the development/chemistry of a few players ; Go Raps Go

Hey man!

It's crazy how much I can relate. I would consider myself to have a pretty strong real-life mindset and a lot of stuff cannot faze me on the tables, too. Until there is a certain threshhold to be reached, where I am a bit tired, the session goes on and a storm breaks out within me...

Totally losing sight over having had an upswing the week before, making 2,5x what I expected, I somehow get tilted by being breakeven the next week after being up 15 stacks to begin with.

Ah well, it just seems like for me there is a mix of not beating the game with as high of a winrate as I'd like to and some kind of fear that I am way worse than I see myself when making slight mistakes after being in several hours in a session and not being as chill as I am when I begin.
Then I walk outside, feel the sun, cook myself something nice and the urge of winning as many bucks as soon as possible is faded. You just can lose the ability to have an overview about everything being too close to the tables and the variance.

Such a nice mirror on yourself

And on the other hand I can be pumped to play poker for 10 hours a day and 2 days later I am burned out as well. Have those cycles as well, but need to work on not forcing it and not being somehow mad at myself not being motivated to grind too much..

Ya with "China" I meant the chinese Apps. They brought me a lot of money, crypto took it away (not crypto itself, it was my greed , learnt my lesson) and now I have to rebuilt in the normal games)

What does a mini retreat look like? I am always curious how others handle the ups and downs of their inner world

Keep'em coming, hope you don't mind this long post

The Final Shot

I am not sure man Really not sure... Let me check my and see if it is still there... Check. Ok. Still beating... Checking. Ok. Darn. Waht. A. Mother. F**king. Game

The day first started off with me halting my plans of grinding when I got a message from my lady friend asking me to hangout at the beach ; I dropped all I was doing, slam the laptop shut, jumped in the shower, sprinkled on some magic colon and slipped into my Gentleman shoes : today I was bringing my A game to the meeting yo

I felt like this was our final shot... I mean, this was date #4 which, when compared to other outings with Latina ladies that promptly led to the sack while falling asleep to promises of "I am going to jump on you first thing in the morning and use you like a toy" from a particular meeting, had remained thus far remarkably platonic... Like disturbingly platonic But like I said, I showed up with my Gentleman shoes this time

Compliments were thrown left and right at her, along with courtesies, assertive cajolery and enough Mojo to make her blush And then caressing her, massaging, gently grabbing her from behind, but... She still turned away from my smooth attempt at kissing her But all was not lost as I tabled my cards and asked her "what gives" and if any potentially future could ensue in between us... Apparently we will be going to Iquitos to do Ayahuasca together As far as the matter of seduction, that also is coming along quite seamlessly, fingers crossed

Bring on the Bucks
Spoiler:
Bucks in 6 though

Needles and Bugs

Am booking appointments to get Hep A and Yellow Fever vaccins in preparation of my Iquitos/jungle/Ayahuasca journey to come. At this point, I kinda am antsy to hit the road again and GTFO of Lima, tbh, but my lady friend is sending me (seductive) signals luring me into sticking around longer... So perhaps the middle path will be more appropriate, like do several trips during the weekdays until the end of my Peruvian visa, while making Lima Ground Zero yo (she will be going to Brazil for 2 weeks next month, so I should hit the road then)

My exhaustion levels are still pretty high which were also manifested in my game today (taking high variance lines and GII a bit too light ) and physically through symptoms of an imminent cold So anyhow, I am not going down without a fight : I will put in a last small online session today before crossing my legs for 4 hours this evening yo I still have one last semi-busy week of da pokerz before the RR promotion finishes (am presently in 3rd and will most likely need 30h+ to preserve my rank ) and then will take it more easy starting next week. I will also increase (at least double...) my meditation hours prior to embarking on my Ayahuasca journey and eat healthy af as well

Man I don't know how many times I watched that Kahwi shot, but it is certainly north of 25 Even if you couldn't care less for bball, take a look at the following and keep in mind that Leonard usually has a str8 arc as opposed to a fracking HIGH af rainbow as shown in the clip :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75iExVNvrWw

I won't deny it, but a tear of joy did come rolling down my face in the midst of it all and that goosebumps were involved in every single God Damn viewing Also, Marc Gasol that immediately proceeded to console Joel Embiid with a few words after the shot when the latter was visibly dejected, is sportsmanship at its best

Curiously, my mini-breakdowns/burnouts are happening during MASSIVE upswings as opposed to their abysmal counterpart during the past 18 months... Well part of it is that I have been running hot as f**king hell, the other being... I don't know... Perhaps Karma and beating others out of their money takes its Karmic toll, who knows... But I try not to fixate on it either way, as I presume that I have 2 years at the most left at this cadence before folding my poker career in the muck...

A mini-retreat usually looks like sessions of 2 hour meditation (where I will not move for an hour, get up for 5 minutes, then proceed with the second hour idem) for 6-8h a day. I will usually do 1-3 days depending on the need/exhaustion levels and how fast I can release the accumulated tension. Like I mentioned above, I will meditate for 4h tonight, but will do a more serious 15h or so in the upcoming weeks

Thx for chiming bro, I always appreciate your comments/perspectives

We were hosting a Mothers Day BBQ and had about a dozen people over. Not a single one, including myself, follows basketball *at all*. However, I was aware enough to know the game was on, so as I locked our cat in the bedroom (she hates crowds and can get mean) I put the TV on for her to watch. I would come up every so often to check on her and catch the score. The last time I came up there was 3 minutes left and it was all tied up, so I decided to take a break from my hosting duties and catch the last bit of the game (probably the most basketball I've ever watched, tbh). So me and the cat caught the last few minutes, including the incredible drama on the boinggggg-boinggg-boing-boing buzzer beater. She was just as startled as I was when I let out a "yeah!" and air punch.

I'm guessing not quite on par as Jose Bautista's dramatic bat flip (watched that with my stepdaughter and we both literally jumped out of our seats the moment the ball left the bat), but I'm sure basketball fans will disagree. Good luck to them in the next round.

On Haircuts and Bball, of course

Well, now I know how an 80$ haircut feels like Think massage chair, 2 sessions of washing hair, coffee and beverages during the haircutting process, facial massage, getting to select your own tunes and etcetera

San Isidro is the financial district of LIma. And while some (expensive) residences can be found tucked into the smaller/remote streets, most of the buildings/houses are occupied for commercial purposes. You will not find many tourists over here and definitely no backpackers. In fact, I had not set foot in this district during my prior stay in Lima nor would I of if it was not that my virtual search of a quieter neighbourhood led me over here. And given that my AirBnB booking is (finally!!!) coming to terms next week, I will most likely go back to the bohemian district that is Barranco (or Miraflores…). But anyhow, when I walked into the barbershop today, little did I know that I would be treated like a King Haha, I mean, I'm all for new experiences and all that jazz and this was a savoury treat of some sorts, but man, when the red carpet is constantly being unrolled for you to walk upon, it does feel kinda awkward Think going into the washroom and having that servant looking fellow roll out some paper towel, open the sink and squirt some soap for you.
Spoiler:
Needless to say but I will not be returining to that place anytime soon

Will be dining with a Vipassana buddy next week who is just getting back from an Ayahuascan journey and a stint in Cusco. It will be nice to discuss his psychedelic experience (he has done a ton of various journeys) as my dear Lady friend has yet to embark on one, nor has she indulged in any form of drugs before She is a determined woman, professional, ambitious, the eldest of her family and thus always seeks to be in control/on top of every situation, so such an outlook combined with accumulated tension levels, is not always the best combo to dip into unchartered spiritual realm while getting fracking OVERBLOWN with unknown stimulus

Haha, nice little cat story while watching the Dinos take over the (animal) world In all seriousness, this marks the highlight of this 26 year old franchise which might just lose this summer the one that took the Raps to new heights.

Do you still believe this to be true and that the Raps will get thru Milwaukee? And O/U in % on Kahwi staying? I would put it at pretty close to a coin flip at this point.

Heading into the series with euquty in the vicinity of 35-38%, I still like those odds and anything above losing 6 games to that OtherWorldly Specimen that is Giannis, is gravy, me thinks Go Raps Go

Stuff and Other

Just got back from Live music in a Colombian cafe ; it seems like I will not be leaving Lima soon after all My lady friend is really growing on me, inside of me, filling my tummy with all the mama-fracking cheesiest butterflies in the world and blah blah blah

We will be going to Pisaq in the Sacred Valley in 2 weeks to do an Ayahuasca ceremony ; there will be about 15 peeps participating, which is definitely a few handfuls, but not out of hand, you know. I will probably look to also go to Iquitos to do a more personalized journey alone with a Chaman there, but time will tell.

Quote of the week (even if the Raps are just about 6 feet under right about now) : "Man, I don’t even know. The only way I’ll be satisfied with the Game of Thrones ending is if Kawhi is sitting on the iron throne.".
