Bang On

Just crossed the 5 figure threshold for 2019 Not a major feat, mind you, but as symbolic as these statistical barriers might appear, it still feels fracking good yo And feeling good is (almost) the end goal, right, in life moreso than in a heavy competitive endeavour like poker - albeit self-confidence is really underrated in sports, me thinks

Yeah man, even this morning about 10-15 minutes of my hourly morning routine daily meditation, all I wanted to do is move as the pain was acute af But then I resisted... Observed... And long and behold, I felt so much better at the end, with some shytty weight lifted from my being Such a lonnnnngggg process... such a lonnnnnggg path

Yup, pretty standard/old school. I love dining so much in a variety of different venues fluctuating from street food/cheap eatouts (GOAT in Vietnam), to fancy restaurants (the bill always mattered little to me, even back then when I had pennies to my name ). So yeah, I like the whole courting process of first impressions, manners, civility, small talk, trying to impress/seduce, temptatively touching to establish warmth and comfort, the first kiss, the undressing process, until the final score, obviously This said, I am really ready for a LTR very soon. I care little for casual affairs these days, and they seem to cost more in terms of energy than the ephemeral benefits seem to provide...

Ok, meeting up with my date in 1h and then I got a train to Granada tomorrow afternoon. I also am apparently planning to travel with a Filipina lady living in Prague in Croatia in late February Yeah, I know, I have a hard time to follow my lady adventures as well

Granada Bound

Still not set on my plans exactly post-Granada, but Sevilles combined with a couple of small beach towns close by sound just about right... with a few days in Italy, perhaps, before hopping over to Romania, who knows Will take time to check the logistics/distance and all that jazz in my train ride today. I do have a date planned for next Friday in Malaga with a sexy Spanish chick, but :

A) I have been to Malaga already and while it is nice and all - a little blend though -, is it important enough to fit into my timeframe
Spoiler:
I guess it all depends how, ehhhhhh, sexually inclined I feel come the weekend

B) The girl keeps messaging me and is simply fracking crazy, no joke

I lost my noise cancellation earbuds today which, when all things considered, is really not a lot of casualties over the last couple of years over the life span of this blog I guess the (numerous) wifi disconnections was where my EV was the most affected

Obscure Sci-Fi Movies

Ok, will throw some good to excellent obscure sci-fi movies that have flown underneath the radar :

Mr Nobody : My favourite on this list. So underrated and amazing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXf3gVYXlHg

Moon : Great narrative. Will not say more.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWoDBcSW4_c

Nothing : Directed by Vincenzo Natali (a Canadian) who brought us Cube, this is an amazing minimalist setting of 2 guys that have power to vanish anything of their disdain. Since they are misanthropic af, you can imagine what ensues Amazing comedy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwQ9qAv_TCQ

Splice : Natali again about the dangers of cloning cross-species.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pIeSYhipUs

- Frequencies : solid movie. All the elements were in place to make it a GOAT movie, but it fell just short. Still very good though.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQHc-WkT77s

- Coherence : Off a minimal budget of 50k, this movie is fracking good. It has a minimalist setting of a dinner gathering of friends that suddenly enter different worlds/different alternative selves. Solid af

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxAOewNzz-8

- Sunshine : I included this one as since you have not seen The Fountain (in my top 10 of all time), so perhaps you missed this one as well... Loved it, elite af, Danny Boyle is legit GOAT

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcNu3AML1L0

Another Earth : More of a sentimental drama than sci-fi, really. This film introduces a parallel alternate world which serves as a means for the protagonist to come to terms with her morning. Decent.

About Time : Okayish time travel rom com. Worth a watch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7A810duHvw

Never Let Me Go : It took me a second viewing to really enjoy this movie (the ending is great, me thinks). A solid portrait of accepting death and this bottom world.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXiRZhDEo8A

Predestination : Great, great travel movie. Enuff said

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcQacCfi_pw

Gattaca : Speaking of Ethan Hawke, if you have not seen Gattaca, it is an amazing underrated 90s movie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_KruQhfvW4

The Time Machine : I enjoyed the romantic/impossible quest of it all. Am also a suckah for sci-fi/time travelling movies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90T7iLuzFgg

Time Lapse : Intriguing crime suspense about time travelling and its subtle implications.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YhP-VfH81E

The One I Love : Time travelling and alternate worlds, what can go wrong, right

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCOvhojlZzQ

Naked Lunch : I mean, Cronenberg's classic weird movie about a junkie's schizophrenic's realm (based on William Burrough's book). I will not list off other Cronenberg's or Lynch's movies (you probably have seen them and this is a complete-utter wall of text already )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koCZ-o50EHY

ARQ : An engaging time travel action movie.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY0DGLrd9GY

Under the Skin : Scarlet Johansson in a strange and (somewhat) feminist inclined movie. Very solid.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcR5KHjoc-0&t=56s

Always Shine : Less of a sci-fi, I guess, but definitely has surreal/otherworldly elements and a must for feminists.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp4blJoV9h4

Over the Black Rainbow : I have yet to get to this one, but will very soon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWF0bBKhe6o

Notable mentions : La Jetee, Primer, Upstream Color Abre Los Ojos (or Vanilla Sky), Brazil, I Origins, The Man From Earth, Cypher

My all time favourites : 2001, The Fountain, Sunshine, Annihilation, Her, 12 Monkeys, Mr Nobody, Arrival.

Ok, all of the praise on here officially elevates Mr. Nobody to a must watch for me after being just below my threshold. Fwiw, I love all of the other movies you identified as all-time favorites. Some of the other movies recommended also look very intriguing.

Dub, have you watched the German show Dark on Netflix? I already would have been pretty sure, but now I am certain that it's a must watch for you. Doubt I even need to say this but make sure to watch in the original German w/ subtitles.

Thanks for the recs!

Alhambra

Found myself exhausted for the first time since coming out of my meditation retreat Of course, it certainly does not help that once I found myself within striking distance of the first place in the rakerace (I am comfortably sitting in 2nd), I prollllonnnnnggg my sessions to 8h total yesterday , despite having logged like 12 losing sessions in a row over the past few days (it barely shows in my results, given that I released 3.5k+ in RB yesterday ). All this effort was (somewhat) in vain, given that the first thing this morning, our 1st place villain was grinding the tables like nobody's business yo

I guess all it takes for me is a little justification to aim for the skies... I watched First Man on the train to Granada ; I can easily relate to Neil Armstrong's obsession to always gun for the moon I mean, I did it in so many areas in my life where I would go WAYYY BEYOND what normal peeps do. Like in hitchhiking (over 50 000kms and 11 times across Canada, Mexico and Australia). Years spent on the road (20+). Or meditation retreats (35 and counting). Hands played in poker (5 million+ counting). Or finding myself near the top of the food chain in this game. Substance abuse in both psychedelics (50+ journeys) and alcohol (). But I mean, even if I oftentimes avoid telling peeps about my otherworldly frequencies of indulging (I hate drawing too much attention upon myself ), I nonetheless really like this perfectionalist/aim for the stars side of me It has brought me across the world plenty of times, up to where I am now, in Granada, walking around like a fracking tourist snapping away a ton of pics and going to see a flamenco show this evening yo Life can be grand when you do not settle for le... or not fracking settle at all, for that matter

People have been ravaging about it like no tomorrow in The Lounge tv thread But, thx man, as soon as you mentioned it, I downloaded it and it is on my "Up Next list" with The Parfume, a tv show based on the excellent German novel

Speaking of obscure sci-fi shows, the UK series Utopia is a must if you love apocalyptic/dark sci-fi stuff

Have you heard of the movie Enemy, also directed by Villeneuve and starring Gyllenhaal... It is as obscure as it gets, intriguing af, and it would make any Cronenberg/Lynch drool until the end of times A must.

Mr Nobody Spoilers + long rant no one should read:

Spoiler:
I have lived a fairly challenging life, one I was hoping to outline in my own pg&c one day (but probably not)

Cliffs are that I have suffered a lot of loss, and have been on my own for a very long time.

For a long period I always asked "why me." I also struggled greatly with regret from prior actions (or inaction) that were huge inflection points in my life.

Then I discovered Alan Watts and his entertaining methods of simplifying complex eastern philosophy. One of his key focus areas is talking about why we suffer and which path is the "right path". And the high level learning is that the path we are on, the place we refer to as "the here and now", that is the place the entire universe is doing "you". There is no right or wrong. There are no mistakes. There is no "this could have been that" or "I should have done this". Your path is perfect. All of them are.

As a writer this really resonated with me. I often write 2-3 different outcomes, and while diverse in their direction (happy, sad, tragic)...I like them all.

And this is the philosophy that is expounded upon in Mr. Nobody.

"Each of these lives is the right one! Every path is the right path. Everything could have been anything else and it would have just as much meaning." - Nemo

It is funny, because people debate which life was Nemo's "best" life. But the idea is that experience is everything. And all experiences have meaning.

Morning Angst

Forced into waking up sub-early this morning - 9:30 but whatever, its fracking early for me, alright - made me contemplate on a time not too far ahead into the future where I will have my own place in a tropical country as opposed to hopping around different destinations like a 20 something fracking backpacker Of course this is me being a little biitch complaining about first world f**king leisure issues and a (mild) lack of sleep, but it does not change the fact that every-single-day-in-this-bottom-world has the accumulated effect of making me that much fracking older Every morning the mirror flashes a new white whisker that was still unbeknownst to me as recent as yesterday… Hence confirming that I will officially have done 42 full revolutions around the sun in the upcoming days Life. Ageing. Fatigue. LoL.

This said, I will be moving much faster than normal in the upcoming 2 weeks as I do want to visit a few places before calling it a trip. If my usual nonchalant-self is content with landing in a spot, staying there for a month while casually making myself a cozy-if-ephemeral little nest to settle in, I now find myself with antsy feet. But mehhh, I was never one for rushing things, rising as early as the rooster do, visiting an unhealthy amount of attractions, snapping away thousands upon thousands of pics to upload, feeling that pressure from peeps back home to do more/show more/have more to tell… F**k that yo

I cancelled my Friday date with that sexy Spanish chick, as there was a non-negligible probability that she would stab me in my sleep ; yup, she is that much emotionally disturbed The intense emotions that have transpired through her texting thus far have ranged from manic panic attacks (wanting to go at the hospital at 5am because of trouble with her respiration), unjustified jealousy directed my way (imagine, we have not met yet), passive-aggressive manipulation and plain out insanity Ehhhh yeah, this could be a nasty live bad beat in the works just waiting to happen So Sevilla it will be then before hopping over to Italy yo

Very interesting ideas Avaritia and I will definitely let it sink in/give it some more pondering In a similar (albeit different) train of thought, I am intrigued (yet do not necessary agree with) the message in Predestination in which the character of Ethan Hawke is stuck in this vicious cycle in which his purpose is simply to perpetuate it. To be. That's it. No fracking way out, just an eternal prisoner of self and the ensuing-cycling-destiny-of-eternal-repetition

On Flights and Downswings

I find myself within yet a mini-downswing dipping into a 5 digit loss over the past few days I am still in the black for 2019 (4k), but this still does not help with this lingering concern that I will fall clearly short of last year’s result in 2019 What’s more important moving forward though, is to maintain a safe floor of at least 80$/h online (and preferable 100$+) as games are not going to get easier anytime soon. I am still putting in some work on my 4 card game, but I might alas have to give up playing midstakes (and lowstakes are jsut not worth it) and refocus my studying upon the 2 card game. My PLO effort will not all have gone to waste though, as I do feel really comfortable playing 5-10 cash and 1k MTTs live yo

Just booked flights/hotels for Italy, Romania and Peru ; there are a few holes in my plans along the way, but the big picture is clearing itself up yo Lima will be my destination come April ; this said, if it does not work with my lovely Peruvian lady, I will simply move forward, hop over to Bolivia/Colombia/Chilli/Argentina or the likes.

Cado de Bata is a sweet little beachside town in a national park and I really dig it here (village looks like a cartoonish ghost town), but prices are ridiculously high for the food (hotel holds great value though at 32 euros/night with a working desk and a bathtub) and it is windy af

Alright, am heading to Sevilla tomorrow (9-10h) where I will be spending 4 nights focussing on the grind, checking out the bull stadium, catching a movie at the cinema, a massage and perhaps go dancing…

On Languages and Various Perspectives

(Paraphrasing) Quote : “French people can be quite rude at times (when you speak to them in English)”.

Quote 2 (answering to the previous quote) : “I have found French people to be much more friendly when you speak to them in French, then British folks when you speak to them in English”.

Spoiler:
and I suspect that speaking to French peeps in English will net you a better result than speaking to English peeps in French...

I mean, Canadians are some of the friendliest people ever (in the Western world), but if I walk around English Canada and casually speak in French to peeps, I guarantee you that the reaction I get will generally not be the most positive But modern history has made the English language the center of the universe, hence why we walk around, shoulders up, expecting a fair treatment in English even if we can only communicate in a single fracking language But then again, we are all soooo fracking ego-centered and it oftentimes takes a great amount of effort to engage/shake hands with the other, to embrace different views/vantage points, sorta speak…

Ironically, while I expect from myself to be able to communicate in Spanish when I travel in Latino countries, this self-imposed criteria dies off when I go to Asia, Czech Republic or other substantially different local speaking languages... Why do my expectations differ so dearly from one country to another? Why is it that I will feel a little awkward in Italy and Romania, AKA places where I could conceivably learn the native language fairly quickly (within 2-3 years) if I put in the concerted effort, but am “like whatever” in places like Croatia or Asia… I fathom that when learning/understanding the language is within the realm of possibilities (I can understand Italian pretty decently even if I can’t speak it for the life of me ), I feel some sort of guilt/obligation settle in, but when the dialect remains completely foreign, I feel some sense of entitlement… I guess I am not much more different than English speaking peeps, right… IDK…

Anyhow, am Sevilla-Rome-Florence-Pisa-Sinaia bound in the next 11 days, the first part of my journey being a bus-bus-train-bus-train-taxi (uber) affair ; still much smoother than the recent train-bus-bus-hitchhiking (stranded 6kms away from my remote hotel ) of my recent Granada-Cado de Gata escapade.

In other news, can I f**king get out of this recent downswing I found myself cutting my day short yesterday (but nonetheless returning to the tables after a 4h break) out of a pure fracking bout of tilting depression, go figure

Funny, I never found this to be the case. Spent a ton of time in France over the last decade. Even though I studied it a little (and love the language and writers such as Proust and Flaubert), I could not hold a conversation at all. So often I was stuck in broken English situations and was no doubt missing out on all the good stuff (jokes/slang etc., especially in Brittany). I'm pretty sure I offended many French bar-owners, at the end of the night, when drunk and carting my drums around, bumping into things---but, he-he, they were likely too polite to say anything.

On Beauty, Cities and Kids

Wall of text incominnnnnnnggg

Sevilla is absolutely stunning Like fracking otherworldly Darn we don't know shyt about beautiful cities in America ; that said, we do have astonishing nature

Went for a midnight stroll yesterday - the streets were lively af - and stopped over in a middle-eastern falafel joint. You could tell the owner (Eastern Indian) had one hell of a day selling his 2-3 Euros dishes, so when those 4 kids aged 12-14 years old walked in and yelled out an order hiphop style/with all the gangsta disdain/disrespect in the world, I wanted to f**king smack them and started thinking of the logistics behind having to take on 4 fellows simultaneously (moreso to indulge in my analytical brain then to actually materialize this violence, of course )... until they made a run for it with the sandwich like little f**king thieves with the owner chasing them down the street Of course, the Indian old man could not catch them and came back angry and unimpressed, but I do remember being that age... I recall stealing from more than one establishment... I sold fire crackers as akid, then cigarettes and ultimately weed/mushrooms as a teenager/adult... Nonetheless, I would still smack that little Dubnjoy fracker, legal implications not withstanding

Thx for chiming in bro and great to hear the positive feedback Even if I do not directly relate to French peeps from France (I identify more with English Canadians, for that matter, something I never thought I would of said back 20 years ago ), they do speak my mother tongue.

I came across Alan Watts name quite often in hippie circles, but it seems to stem more from an Anglo-saxon background, then our little bubble in Quebec... Much like other gems I discovered only later on when moving to English Canada, like Dark Crystal, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance... Growing up as a Quebecois, we were obviously surrounded/influenced by Anglo-Saxon/American culture, but still indulged in our own music, cinema, literature, tv shows... For example, nobody watched Sesame Street as a kid, as we had our own French version named Passe Partout

edit : I forgot to say, a very cool video man, thx for sharing

Yeah man, gotcha. I was in the same boat in regards to languages actually (although I excelled at English as a second language, but lagged in French ), yet still proceeded to take French literature in University/improve significantly my English abilities in my 20-30s, to now learn Spanish I mean, for somebody intellectually inclined like myself, math has always been more natural, but never thought of it to be enthralling until I discovered poker, that is Where as I thought the truth was somehow tucked into the knowledge of a book somewhere

Speaking of languages : it is fascinating how we take our mother tongue for granted and do not understand to what extent we are emotional attached to certain words, as opposed to their translations in our 2nd or 3rd language, for instance... Especially strong identity defining words like Mother, House, Sea, Family etc. Also, the origin of certain words might fall on deaf ears in our first language like, for example, take break-fast that clearly states a "break" in our "fast", right, as morning comes around and we stuff some food down our belly which the previous 12 hours of sleeping/circumstantial fasting had prevented us from doing, but it is (most likely) not until we learn words from other languages (De-jeuner or Des-ayunos) that we can connect the dots and separate the root of the word from the meal that it refers to

Ok, that's it for now ; it will either be a flamenco concert or a movie (Glass) tonight yo

Twisted Sub-Dimensions

An unexpected change came upon my grinding plans : if my initial goal was to try to maintain 2nd place in the rakerace/concede and fall into 3rd place if need be, but then I noticed that our first place villain was not putting in much volume since Thursday evening... He could of been casually slacking off as his lead was as BIG as a fracking black hole, but then when I got closer, he still did not seem to want to put on a fight... Come yesterday, where after putting in 2 small sessions/visiting Sevilla and hanging out in the sun on a patio, I noticed that villain would only login when I did, play a few minutes with apparently a lower than usual amount of tables, and then call it quits... Wait, what!?! And then it struck me : he is f**king sick and despite all the mightiest of mighty lucid attempts in the fracking world, he is forced to return to his bed/puking bucket So I did what every good 2nd place competitor ever would do and f**king grinded into the wee hours of the morning and kicked that mama-frackers arse yo - 5am, to be precise -, playing HU like nobody's business and long and behold, I now find myself locked into 1st I do hope he does not put in much of a fight as it would be nice to catch a flamenco concert/movie/dancing tonight, like I initially intended to do...

Man those Eli Elezra allegations are sickening af Not so much the latest ones as to how they contribute another f**king drop to the dark sea that was the FullTilt boys ; the whole landscape that use to be those tv pros during the boom, will go down as tainted with fecal matter forever, won't it Long and behold the death of this portrait of these cowboy-rednecks-tougher-than-life displaying endearing excentric personalities on Poker After Dark... Those guys had it all : fame, monies, sponsorships, free tourney BIs, BRs, and a ton of them just fracking blew it like no tomorrow, ffs Coming down from TOP OF THE WORLD can be amazing vertiginous downfall boooyyyyy I much prefer us, AKA geeky-introverted internet kidz that that came after and refocussed the whole equation on nutrition, working out, self-awareness, solving the game

Heh, so I have an encyclopedic knowledge of Alan Watts clips on YouTube. There are all full lectures, but I particularly enjoy quick 5 min clips with music that fits the theme.

Probably one of his more famous lectures...and a beautiful video...ironically brought to us by GoPro lol.

Cliffs:

We are all the same self, living life through different perspectives. If you had the power to dream any life for yourself in infinite, eventually you’d get bored with fame and fortune and click the random button.

I got an actual mind-gasm from this one.

One of the things that perplexed me the most as a child (raised in the very religious American South) was where did God come from? Even now, as I’ve added many other philosophies and much more science to my study, the question of “but where did God/matter/photons/existence/substance/whatever come from” always perplexed me. Something about this talk, it melted that question away.

Cliffs:

“The godhead is never an object of its own knowledge, just as light does not illuminate itself”

Ive got many more favs. lmk if these tickle your pickle

Soul Sucking Jerk

You know the feeling... You have been put in this situation SOOOOOO MANY times before... So when the river card hits the table, you dare not look, as even if your rational mind knows that villain was drawing to a mere 4%, your instincts know that you're f**ked...

When you step outside and subsequently engage in the sunny real world, something is amiss... Something essential has gone array and it has nothing to do with the beating that you just took at the tables... Something fundamental is looming as if even the laws of physics are in on it : at every step, you feel like the ground is going to give up That the fracking soil that you walk on is simply going to collapse and chew you the f**k up... Yup, something is wrong in the world...

I had tried to convince myself that I had turned things around, that my virtual downswing was a thing of the best - control the narrative and you control the world, right -, but alas, a simple glance at my charts made me realize that if I indeed have surfaced out of my financial grave that the past 6 months had dug, I am nonetheless on a 1/2 million hand B/E stretch Run bads are that much tougher when you can no longer justify them with a recent mid 5 figure live MTT score... Downswings are that much more fracking soul-sucking when you got hit with a nasty cold
Spoiler:
Pardon this negative af post, but just am not in the right mood today

The good news: at least it ain't live, which would only be 16,700 hours or so.

ETA: To date, my lifetime live 1/3 NL sample size is 130,000 hands. L. O. L. Giraffes like yours above make me sick when attempting to apply it to where I could be on my little ~9 year blip on my eventual lifetime graph.

Goliath

WOW, I defeated a demon today (through meditation) that his been hunting me for the past 3 years, no joke Think David vs Goliath, but B]10x[/B] more intimidating and ferocious This villain is not new to me, we have danced this existential dance before... Even if he is tough as nails, I got the best of him yo

"Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight..."

It feels weird to leave behind the Spanish part of my journey... This dialect had become (slightly) more familiar, the cities more splendid, the country more appealing... If my trip initially debuted in Madrid, Malaga and Marbella - nothing to frown upon, but the best was yet to come -, it got increasingly magnificent with Barcelona, Granada and then ultimately cumulated with Sevilla which simply blew me fracking away yo

I am giving PLO 10 more days before calling it quits : my latest B/E stretch would not be as devastating if I only played the 2 card game (approximately -30k in PLO pre-RB). I feel confident again moving forward, now that I have defeated Goliath and will toss away that virtual 4 card game yo

No shyt I often think of the clueless peeps at the live lowstakes poker tables that speak of their run bad extending over barely the lapse of 5000 hands... Of course, I do not speak up, but instead visualize them without hair as they would of f**king pulled it all off Homer Simpson style had they been exposed to mid 6 figure variance (and some of them have approximately the same winrate live that I do online, so it would definitely be within the realm of possibility ).

Spoiler:
that busker was pretty epic

Edit : Darn, Italian is beautiful and all, but I am having a harder time than I thought understanding it
Spoiler:
and will definitely not learn it anytime soon

Edit 2 : Call it variance, but I seem to run into some gorgeous women initially when entering a European country, thus convincing me that the country is full of them... I was fooled in Czech Republic and again in Spain, so Italian women, I will wait a few more days before coming to the conclusion that you are all beautiful

Can you tell me some things you enjoyed in/about Malaga? I will be there in Sept.

Places other than Malaga worth visiting over the popular tourist destinations?

Thanks in advance!

Ronda is fantastic and well worth the trip. It's popular, but not too busy.

Roman Times

Yeahhh... I don't think it is feasible to gun for a top 3 place in the last bi-monthly rakerace... Not with Rome sitting just outside, calling me nonstop like a mesmerizing curse to come visit its vestiges... And then Florence, Pisa and the ski hills/tournaments awaiting in Sinaia... But, above all, I am fracking bummed out with this game called poker Tired of having to sweat AA vs 22 like it is a fracking 50/50 flip Yeahhh, I know, I am in one of those burned-out-from-poker phase

Italy obviously feels much more awkward as far as communicating goes. I had grown accustomed in being capable to not only interact clearly my intentions, but converse semi-adequately in Spanish. Not sure how I lived in South-East Asia for 3 years+ without speaking the local language... Of course, you naturally immerse yourself within a protective bubble, develop a sense of entitlement until you come to the realization that you are wasting precious years of your life without contributing much to the communal life etc. Anyhow, I would not want to do it again for the life of me

I got to visit the colosseum today ; God those humbling/mystifying/transcendental moments of feeling sooo little are something to cherish, aren't they They never last too long, of course, but having your body covered in extactic goose bumps is well worth the ephemeral sensation yo

I extended my stay by 1 day over here, as I simply did not have time to visit f**k all today - or not much... -, that and the fact that they fracking shut down all touristic attractions at 15:30 I mean who the f**k is even out of their bed at that time, ffs

Snapping Away Tourist Style Yo

Upswwwonnnggg for a well needed 5-6k yesterday when the games were the best they have been since Xmas In fact, it felt like 2013 all over again, when some tables even had as many as 2 rec players, no joking

#RememberYesterYearWhenYouWereTheFishAtTheTableYet StillTheBestPlayer

Damn, I am so happy that I came to Rome in

A) Dead middle of the winter
and
B) Not on the weekend

As there is so many fracking tourists I usually have tolerance zero for lineups/crowds/tours and the likes, usually going as far as skipping an attraction if I see a ton of peeps lined up,

#ForeverRebel

but this was just fine, as most of the attractions are spread out 10 minutes from each other walking distance, thus making it a relaxing stroll in the Roman streets yo

Okay, now that I find myself in the dead heat of the rakerace after putting in decent volume yesterday with HU matches in the mix (am 5th, not too far from 1st), I will once again try to gun for a top 3 with my renewed found energy yo Aiming for 1st would be suicidal when factoring in that I will be visiting Florence, Pisa, skiing in Sinaia and playing the UO ME and HR, but 3rd should be well within reach if I manage to average 5h+ over the next 7 days It is time to grind the living shyt out of 2019, right folks

I've been lurking your travel and this thread for a while now, great stuff!

On what site(s) do you play in Spain and Italy? I thought most sites with an international player pool are blocked from those countries.
