So I’ve been grinding 1-3 for the past 4 months and lately I Have become a bit lazy and I am not happy with my work ethic. So I thought it would be wise to start a pg&c thread where I motivate myself to put in volumn and get hand histories for reviews.

The goal is 40hrs/week and to post as many interesting hands as possible so I can entertain you guys and in return, you guys can help me improve my game by helping me fix my leaks.

A lil poker background about me:

Back in 2015 i was living outside the US and played on pokerstars. I deposited 100 bucks and played a lot of micro stakes mtt, 180 man, 90, 45 sngs. Some cash, and all over the place. My br went up and down till I had 30 bucks left.

I decided i wanted to learn poker from the bottom, get good at 1 format so I started grinding nl2 to rebuild my br. Eventually i moved up to nl5 and started playing the 6 max 250BB ante game they used to have. My br grew larger and I was a regular at the nl10 and nl16 6max 250BB ante game. My BR was at 2000 when I had to quit online poker, moving back to California.

Because of the difficulty of cashing out and state of online pk in America, I have lost interest in online poker. I know it’s still possible on some cardrooms but I think it’s still very sketchy and I hate playing and worrying about my money if it’s safe or not online.

However, for live play, even at the lowest stakes, I really didn’t have a br to play with so i’ve only been playing recreationally without keeping track of my records until recently, 4 months ago, when I decided I wanted to give it a shot fulltime.
Since then I have downloaded a poker bankroll app and have been keeping record since.

Here is my stats thusfar:

548 hours played (Mostly 1-3, some 2-5)
17k profit
31$/hr

I busted 2 tourneys for a -700 total and spent 3K of expenses so my total roll is only at 13k ++ rn so I am still very afraid of going busto and not too comfortable taking shots at 2-5 yet, I have been breaking even combined of all the 2-5 shots I’ve taken. The 1-3 game I play in has a 500 buyin and table stakes so it’s pretty big already.

Anyways that’s all for now. Today is sunday so my first goal for this thread is to put in 40 hours by next week and put in some interesting hands for discussion.

Thanks in advance to anyone who will sub and follow as it will give me a lot of motivation for sure

First few hands for the thread and I’m already playing bad

Folds to me and i raise 12 on button with j9o. Sb bb both defend

Flop K93r (36) Checks around

Turn 6 brings bd flush. Checks to me and i bet 15, Bb call

River 5 brick. (66) i bet 25 for thin value from 9x and 6x. Any stubborn pair

He calls with 1010 and i value own myself

2nd hand folds to me in HJ (340 stack) and raise to 15

Bb calls has me cover

Flop K57 2 spades. I have no spades. I bet 20 and get check raise to 70. I call

Turn J spades (170) Villian bets 120. I ship for 245 total. He doesnt like it but calls
River J i show and win.

Villian looks digusted and says i had u. Im guessing he had 2 pair so we got it in bad and suck out.

H1: I would heavily consider checking flop, and checking any turn (except a K).

H2: I think you can just fold first time around, and def fold the second time it gets to you.

H3: I think PF is fine. Flop size is OK, I wouldn't mind if you went bigger as well. What do you put V on after he raises? I would consider a flop 3bet depending on his range. As played, I think fold is good on the river.

Thanks for the awesome feedback.

H1: I’ve face this situation before and checked flop, then villian turned a set so i was inclined to bet this time. But i guess i was being result oriented. But if we keep checking flop and turn our hand is kind of faceup i think? I dunno very hard to play situation but i will just check fold the next time this happens?

H2: yea I was spewy this hand. Should fold preflop for sure

H3. I think his value range on the flop consist of maybe the same hand. 88. 910.
Possibly 810 89 hearts but in position he might jusf flat those given such good odds. So I thought I was beat most of the time and if money got in on the flop I would only be ahead of a rare J8s. I really just wanted to fold the flop. Calling here to hope for a check check on turn and river or to hit my 4 outer is pretty bad. But folding top 2 just seemed too nitty. I dunno this was very tough spot for me..
I think 3betting flop we would put too much money in the pot to be able to fold after that? Are we 3bettting gii on flop or 3b small to 220 and fold?
Sorry i forgot to mention stack sizes but we were around 450 to start the hand

Anyways love the feedback as these hands still puzzle me a lot.

Update on yesterdays session

Played 6 hours. -540

Will try to do better today wish me luck

Day 2 of thread I ran pretty bad, lost a ton to a fish.

Only positive is I booked another 5hrs so thats 11/40 so far for this weeks goal.
-500 for the sess

Last big hand of session I make it 12 LJ with 78s 7 handed. Weak passive fish on button calls. Sb calls.

Flop K69r. No bd flush for me, i bet 20. Button calls

Turn 10. I bet 50 button calls.

River 10, i bet 140 into 175. He shoves for 200 more. If I call pot will be 855 so i only need to be good 25% of the time to profit.

I don’t see this villian bluffing and he almost always has a boat here so I think I made a really bad call even with such odds. I had him on K10 mostly, was just hoping he would spazz with Q10 J10 putting me on AK/AA. Anyways i called and he had K10

Oh well, all great things start rough, as I hope this thread will be aswell.
Anyways im still happy with the hours I’ve put in which is the main reason for this thread. Looking to book a solid 8hr + session tommorow. Let’s get out of this downswing!

booked 10 hrs today -450

H1.

3 limps to hero’s button with AQo and i make it 20. Get 3 callers.

Flop A74 flush draw board. Checks to CO (400 stack) bets 80. I cover and call.

Turn 10 brick, CO bets 80 again

I ship, CO tank calls.

History:
I’ve seen CO limp AJ in the sb over limpers, also seen CO raise with AJ to iso limpers while on the button and called my 4.5x 3bet.

She somehow shows up with a limped AK this hand. GG

H2

UTG limps, 3 more limpers. I look at K10o on the button and feel pretty confident about the UTG limpers range, i could flat here but I rather play fhe pot heads up and make it 25, expecting to pick up the pot pre a lot.

Sb wakes up with a hand and flat, UTG calls, CO calls.

Flop K67 flush draw.

Checks to me and i make it 75. UTG calls. We are both over 200BB deep to start the hand.

Turn 9. I know UTG will never flat a set here given the wetness of the board, I’ve seen him check raise a set on a very dry board before so i expect him to always check raise here. I put him mostly on flush draws, maybe KJ or KQ that he decided to limp. The pot is 250 and i bet 135. I had plans of bombing all non heart/Q/J rivers to get him off better kings.

River 5h. He bets 225 and i fold

H3

I straddle to 6. UTG nit-tag makes it 17 (he can raise this small with AA) CO 3bets 40. Button cold calls and i look down at JJ and flat. Utg flats. Utg has 550 stack, CO 1k stack. Button 440 stack. I cover

Flop 1075r. Checks to button who bets 125. I think he has A10, 99, 88, QQ as all his value hands, 89s, 86s, 64s as bluffs. I discount sets due to large sizing. I call. OR 3bettor also calls.

Turn 9. Checks to button who ships 175. I think im behind both players now and fold

CO calls off with QQ. Button has 75s

Im posting most of my losing hands for now. I do have some nice wins and bluffs i’ll post later
