Hi guys,

I have moved to nl50 something like a month ago and have been trying to beat it since then. It hasn't worked really well for me as yet, I'm slightly better than b/e post rb.

After reading ishter's blog I've decided to follow his path and crush these stakes. In order to stay motivated and maybe make friends with some regs from low stakes I am opening this blog. I am going to share some hand histories here and girraffes as well

One of the things I've learnt on nl50 is that: a busted fd is an incentive to call down with any showdown value

In & GL, playing same stakes

AK, not sure if we should bet this flop vs fish, like more betting the AK with a bdfd and check/call the AhKh?
A9, nh, maybe turn a bit bigger, or why less than 2/3 there?
KJ, giveup turn. can you explain your thoughts ott, and why that river raise?
AA, flop imo not that bad by him, but should make it a bit bigger to fold out more AX, turn ap nice bluff combo

            Hi silverforest,

AK - maybe you're right that xc could make sense. My main idea was that a fish could fold his PP straight away here and it could be easier just to bet it out. But not sure, x/c could be better.

A9 - should have gone for 2/3 turn, don't know why I lowered it.

KJ - I had a note that this guy 3bets AQo vs me on UTG. So if he does not have AQ there and I have nice blockers I'd go for a tripple barrel. With my stats he can't call down with TT/JJ/QT, imo KQ and QJ he should also fold vs a 3barrel and I'm blocking these. And on the river, I hit my king so no point betting as nothing worse is calling. When he bets, I don't see worse hands in his range, so I can't call it. And we did not have stats on each other so the way I looked at it was: I can have every single combination of nuts here. 88/QQ/KK, I could even x/shove AA 4 value in this spot. And there are no busted draws to bluff with. In my opinion KQ should be a snap muck vs an unknown reg. But maybe that is just all BS if the guy is calling it with KJ...

            1) I knew this reg doesn't really fold to cbets otf and ott. He's kind of capped, the only nutty hand in his range is QJ, so I think I might have played it correctly.

I'd like to reach 100k point this year so I'm considering putting some extra volume. After all, there is only 60k hands to go, so if I decided to make it 10x6k, I'd have free Christmas. Yeah, I guess it's the best option.

The only thing I was disappointed with is my sleepiness in the morning - maybe some of the decisions were influenced by that. Ran horribly today, I accept it though.

Reading some of these hands made me jealous how soft your 50nl tables are compared to the ones I play on.

That last hand with 109 is somewhat villian dependent, but I'd usually fold unless I'm against a complete fish or someone bluffy. You don't beat anything but air

When it comes to T9 it was a fish indeed. I put him on a fd. And I just didn't know whether he'd be betting Ax fd or just checking it. I guessed he'd rather check it and there were a few other fds that didn't hit an ace, hence the call.

"Preflop: I wake up to KQs UTG+1 and make it $20 to go. Obviously I could've folded, but the table I was on was fairly passive pre flop and only 3betting with QQ+, so I felt like I would see a cheap multi-way flop. I end up getting called by UTG+2 and three others. UTG+2 (villian) seems somewhat nitty, but I've seen him stab at pots and fold to a raise. I noticed that he hesitated before making the call preflop, as if he was thinking about folding.

Flop ($100): K 10 6, rainbow. I elect to check, figuring I don't get called by worse too often here. In hindsight maybe I could lead out as I get value out of QJ, 10J, Q10, but I don't mind checking because I'm OOP with TP and would rather use my hand as a bluff-catcher than bloat the pot when so few hands can call me behind. Anyway, villian leads out 60 and it folds around to me. I call.

Turn ($220): K of spades, bringing a spade draw. I check, figuring if he has a 10 or a pp I will definitely scare him off with a bet, and I could possibly scare off a hand like KJ by leading. He leads out 60 again. At this point alarm bells are going off because most nitty fish will make the same bet on the turn as they did the flop for value, because they reason that if I called it the first time I have to call it again. I felt like he could definitely play K10, 1010, and 66 this way, and maybe even AK as I'd never seen him 3bet pre, so I didn't know his 3bet range. I called though, thinking that I've shown so much weakness this hand he could be double barrelling or even feel like his JJ is good.

River ($340): 4 blank. I check again, and he quickly bets 150. I tanked for a while before finally choosing to call, as I was getting better than 3:1 and I could still beat one hand he's value betting (KJ). He says, AK is good. I tell him I called you, you have to show down first. He turns over 35 offsuit, a stone cold triple barrel bluff. I really didn't expect that at all, as the villian hadn't gotten out of line or done anything donkeyish the whole time (3+ hours) I had been playing with him. Results aside, was this the correct way to play the hand? Can I ever find a fold, especially considering how weak my hand must have looked to the villian? I almost folded because the flop was so dry he's unlikely to have air, and I probably would have if the bet was $250 or more, but the odds I was getting were too good to lay it down. Am I a donk for even considering a fold here? Obviously as played I'm never folding, but if he took a slightly more aggressive line I think I would have found a fold. "

Lol, I do mean the online tables that I play on. God I sound like such a fish the way I described that live hand. I was on a string of coolers at the time (set over sets, full houses losing to nut full houses etc.) so I genuinely expected to lose that one too. Only reason I play live is because of how unbelievably soft it is, that hand being a prime example

tgiggity, that's a relief what stakes do you play online, and what room?

Today's game was disappointing. I mean, I'm rather satisfied with most of my decisions, yet I've run very bad and maybe haven't been aggressive enough? Anyways, I don't even want to open the graph cause it'd make me sad for the night

I play 50nl with a little bit of 100-200nl shot taking when the games are good. I play on True Poker (WPN network) which is great for rakeback/bonuses but not so great for overall fishiness. Also, no zoom yet, although I've heard it's coming eventually.

I'm surprised to hear the level is much higher, I've always heard that zoom is much tougher than equivalent stakes on other networks. Good luck
